i cant believe this. i cant fucking believe this. i meant to send this to my boyfriend but instead i sent it to my boss right after i told her i was quitting all i wanted to do was make an inappropriate cookie joke but no i got mixed up texting two people at once and literally sent a picture of a chocolate chip cookie captioned “ooh she thique” to the fifty year old suburban mother of two of whom i have nothing but a strictly professional relationship with. after knowing me for almost a year and a half as a hard working and respectable employee this is the last thing i will ever say to her i can never go back to that shop again all because of this god damn cookie blunder What have i Done

The American Ballet Theatre is debuting its first same-sex pas de deux tonight, performed by Calvin Royal III and João Menegussi. A snippet of the performance has been circulating on TikTok (above), and it’s so beautiful, I was moved to tears. I tried to capture the tenderness of these thirty seconds in charcoal and pencil as best as I could. (Below.)

Here’s a thing I just thought about.

Growing up being not normal TM, whenever I complained about shit I was dealing with I was constantly told some variation of “at least it’s not worse” or “be grateful for what you have”. 

Oh, your parents won’t use your preferred name and obviously don’t see you as your gender? At least they (sometimes) use your pronouns and you haven’t gotten kicked out yet.

Oh, your ADHD/autism actually causes issues that feel impossible to get through and your family doesn’t accept that? At least your diagnosed, and your family is trying to help you. 

Oh, you hurt a lot and don’t want to be very active because you’re always sore and in pain? It could be worse, you could be in pain all the time and soreness isn’t that bad. Plus you don’t have to do much anyway.

Oh, your parents make you feel uncomfortable and bad like more than half of the time? At least they don’t hit you, and there are kids who don’t have family, or food, or a house, or anything.

So PSA: You do not have to be grateful for subpar help. You do not need to be grateful for the bare minimum. Just because others have it worse does not mean your problems aren’t real. You don’t need to be grateful for being able to live, and just because others suffer differently doesn’t mean that you don’t suffer at all.

We have a Sea Witch event going on in our aquarium and it's making me question humanity. There's a sign with info about the event outside the Witch's Lair that states "a vegan alternative is available to those who need it" (referring to the little treat bag kids get after doing a spell with the witch).

Tell me WHY I was asked if the vegan alternative referred to the witch ?? Yes, let's just pull the vegan witch actor out from the back in case people are offended by the use of frog spawn and eye of newt in her spell 😭
