just remembered rebecca's storyline ended with the implication she would be the stepmother to the child of her kind love interest who travels between England and his country of origin. u have to giggle. year ago me would have been so pleased to read that sentence, poor innocent soul.

The pause after Rebecca says she was thinking of travelling abroad, after Ted has said that he is definitely going. The pause where he's surely meant to say- The obvious thing she's looking for him to SAY there is. What about a visit to Kansas? I can't read that pause as anything but an open invitation from Rebecca for Ted to just ask.

#like is that what they intended for that to mean? #bc it feels so blatant to me that ted's eat pray love joke to me on some level reads as a gentle deliberate ignoring of it #and idk what to make of that #tedbecca #rebecca welton #ted lasso #the way they had rebecca act about him in the finale was truly wild as a choice given their intentions #i also just for the first time since watching the finale watched the tedbecca scenes in full again

That finale truly was mad though, because I'd spent so long absolutely dismissing (and often actively disliking, for various reasons based on how I view Rebecca and her arc) the fandom's idea of Rebecca goes to Kansas. But. There were moments in that finale I could truly truly have believed that was what was happening in some form. And I think that's what stuck with me about it, that I was ready, and frankly expecting, at the beginning of season three, at the beginning of the finale even, to be shown that ted and rebecca was not on the table. But the show seemed to keep it there until the very very last second. This isn't even offering an opinion on the matter, just kind of wild that the finale in some ways implied the possibility of things I didn't even imagine could happen.

#it's like the whole weird vibe where no they were never really like besties? they were weird soulmates #and so what was that for? #they just had a Connection Different To Their One With Everyone Else - even their far closer friends
