I’ve never heard the Alys thing 😭 can you elaborate please?
well she’s alys rivers. rivers is a bastard name. stated in the book that she is widely speculated to be the bastard daughter of lyonel strong, making her larys and harwin’s younger (?) half-sister and also rhaenyra’s sons aunt (foul slanders.) in the show they did cast someone who looks a lot like alicent which makes both larys’ attachment to alicent and aemond’s attachment to alys like 60% weirder
What is honor compared to a woman’s love? What is duty against the feel of a newborn son in your arms… or the memory of a brother’s smile? Wind and words. Wind and words. We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy.
Jon Snow - and family that haunts him, because sometimes ghosts make for the best love stories.
The Russian test skates are an annual pre-season event where the Russian international skaters present their new programs to the Russian judges and officials and receive feedback from them (rather like USFS Champs Camp).
There are two rounds of “test skates” - the open ones, which anyone can come and watch and from which we frequently get many fancams, and the closed ones. The fact that they have open test skates from which we often get video is why the Russian test skates are so famous in the fandom.

I’ve received a couple of additional asks on turns/steps and thought it’d be better to make a post for it rather than answering each of you individually.
Now, for a start, let’s make it crystal clear that recognizing all of the turns and steps is not at all easy, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t get it right in the beginning. I am also of the opinion that figure skating is a sport you can enjoy without knowing all the technical details, so in my book it is totally fine if you can’t tell a three-turn from a bracket. I myself spent the first few seasons watching skating without understanding a thing, couldn’t even tell the jumps apart, let alone turns and steps. For the record, I don’t think I enjoyed figure skating any less back then than I am now - it’s just that the way I am enjoying skating today is different compared to when I first started (and by different I really mean more neurotic and way more salty about scoring).
Whaaat? You’re still reading this after that preface? You must be very determined about learning this whole turns/steps business so, alright, we’ll get down to business. This time, Let’s Go Crazy (I know, I’m sorry, that was super lame, but it was impossible to resist).
So below is Yuzuru’s LGC Step Sequence from Worlds, Level 4, +3.00 GOE (+2.10 after SOV conversion). Our goal is that by the end of this post you’d be able to grasp, from a technical point of view, what’s so great about it.
Give it a watch, I know you want to, it’s easily the coolest Step Sequence in the history of Step Sequences. DON’T worry about the notations yet.
