the absolute whiplash of the beginning of house md season six. we open with two hour long broken focusing on house’s pain and addiction and wrecked mental state. he falls in love. he raps with lin manuel miranda. he loses his love. his actions make a guy jump off a building and break every bone in his body. second episode’s called epic fail. patient hallucinates weird monkey video game in the hospital lobby. thirteen makes a quip about house’s food tasting better than pussy. house and wilson spend an entire scene making ball jokes. third episode chase murders a genocidal dictator. no other show is doing this

Genuinely one of the great joys of being in fandom for a long time is running into the same people again in different fandoms.

Hi! I have been having a House renaissance, and followed an old link to your Chase/House/Wilson crossdressing porn, and I still love it so much. Plus, it was super delightful to find out that a story I loved 17 years ago is by the same person who wrote some of my favorite Bond fic. <3

sometimes I spend too much time thinking about the terrible things in the world while I wash dishes, but then I open my computer and see people going to their science teacher's house forty-six years later to watch the eclipse. movie stars write moving paragraphs about missing their departed pets a year after the event. people I don't know light candles for the family members of other people I only know online and it makes me cry. the smell of baking brownies perfumes my house. the sun is out. not everything in the world is bad.

I'm going feral about House 6x14, "Private Lives." The whole House character element of the episode is that he's looking for someone who is his intellectual equal, and it goes uncommented on that Chase is keeping up with him almost the entire time. There are only two things Chase doesn't get and that's because (a) House is still House so of course he's the one who solves the case and (b) Wilson knows context Chase doesn't.

saw a five paragraph post about how so many bad things happen to house on the tv show house and how the show never has any of the other characters acknowledge any of his trauma. A of all you are a victim of the “let’s explore everything in a healthy way” age of television and B of all every episode of house md every character is going up to house being like “you have so many issues we are literally begging you to talk about it and go to a therapist. We will pay you. We will drive you there” and he goes “bites you bites you bites bites bites you bites you PLUS I faked cancer to get high PLUS I’m gonna ruin your life for suggesting this”

Anyways. Y'all keep forgetting that Cuddy hired and repeatedly refused to fire malpractice Georg entirely on purpose. In order to keep her hospital on the map. In order to secure better funding and more research opportunities. She lies under oath, she threatens employees, (not just House!) she fucking. Schemes. She's nuts! She sees a complete disaster of a guy who cannot be trusted to care for himself much less vulnerable patients, who absolutely no one else will hire, and she goes. Yeah I think I can keep him under control. I think I can harness that for my benefit. And she mostly succeeds!!! House, who's never met an authority figure he didn't hate. She keeps him complacent with regular doses of petty arguments so he thinks he's fighting the man, but literally he is exactly where she wants him most of the time. Yeah House might be a feral animal, but that makes Cuddy the kind of person who keeps wild animals as pets. She's like oh yeah this is my pet tiger. When he's feeling grumpy I distract him with raw steak that I throw across the room. He thinks it's a game. Sometimes he tries to bite me lol.

I mean, obviously House is a horrible boss but at least he's an equal opportunities horrible boss. Most horrible bosses will treat you like shit but THEN talk to you about "disrespect" when you try to stand up for yourself.

When House's employees drug or stalk or blackmail or insult or physically assault him right back, he just goes "Great game, guys!" at the end of the episode and high-fives everyone.

they're always bringing experts or activists on the news to agitate about porn and there's a standard script for this that's like "I think sex education is important, I'm not anti-sex, but so much of this porn is violent and misogynistic if not outright illegal, and it's far too accessible to our children"

I want to see someone finally be brave enough to say that the government should just make its own porn for teenagers that accords with community values, so they don't have to go to these shady places to get it. I think the government porn would probably be pretty bad but I would be so eager to hear about the process of designing it. there would be so many stakeholders and consultations. in canada it would have to be bilingual
