Intimacy in Hellspawn

I feel like the concept of intimacy is well explored through the hellspawn ship. I mean, Karlach gets to experience touch once she fixes her engine, she doesn't force anything sexual. She just wants to feel alive, to feel loved. Astarion would be hesitant, having trauma from having to use sex as a way to lure, to get others to be interested in him. Just so he can bring them back to his abuser. But with Karlach....she understands because she has suffered under Zariel. When Astarion and Karlach do get intimate, when they do have sex, its not forced, out of necessity, or out of ill intent. It's pure, lively, passionate, an expression of freedom, the freedom they have to finally love eachother. He would gently caress the blue hue emanating from her engine, staring into her orbs lovingly as they share a kiss. Karlach would caress along his body, providing warmth to his cold, undead frame. There would be no forced roles, it would be natural. Then when they are done, Astarion would snuggle up against Karlach's chest, feeling the warm hues of her engine turn into an ethereal yellow glow. She would be his sun.

"Of course I like you in the leather," says Astarion, and waves one elegant hand, dismissive. "But I don't like that you hadn't the choice, you know."

Karlach glances over at him, sidelong. She's looking at him the way she does sometimes, as though she's seeing rather more than he intended her to see.

"The choice, huh," she says, she says it sort of flat, without much inflection.

I did this to myself. Okay, now I’m thinking what if during/after the gnoll fight where you can influence them to eat each other Karlach gets strangely somber and quiet. (Yea, cause she had to dismember and eat pieces of her enemies to survive in Avernus so it brings her memories and bad vibes)

Then Astarion makes an insensitive joke about the eating thing, Karlach doesn’t laugh, he notices her mood change. Then he puts two and two together and realizes they have YET ANOTHER thing in common. Not only feeding on gross and rotten things, but feeding on enemies they kill. Astarion does it during fights with the group, and Karlach used to have to do it in the hells. Then he makes a comment about how he does it too and it’s fine, or whatever, which makes Karl feel a bit better about herself.

Ofc they grow closer with that and then THEY KISS AND-
