THE MIDDLE BLOCKER
CHAPTER 5
Suna's POV
I opened my eyes and closed them tightly because of the intense light. My eyes slowly adjusted to the light. I looked at my surrounding and saw I was in the schools infirmary. I tried to move my body but suddenly the pain came back to me and I groaned loudly.
Y/n's POV
I heard a loud groan and I shot up. I saw Suna awake. He had his eyes shut tightly. My eyes started to water again. But I didn't care at this point so I quickly stood up and said "Suna. You ok". He looked at me, adjusted him self in a sitting position and said" Yeah. Why are you here. Shouldn't you be at practice ". I looked at him and ignored his question. I hugged him tightly. I let the tears fall. Right now all that matters is that he is fine and he is in front of me. He wrapped his arm around me and jokingly said" Wow. I didn't knew you cared for me this much". I looked up to be met with his gaze and said "what do you mean by that. Huh. What do you mean you didn't knew. Suna you were important to me. You still are and you will be. How can you say that".
He looked at me with those beautiful eyes and said "I'm sorry for worrying you. This won't happen again". I nodded. He kept his hand on my cheeks and said "and please stop crying now. I told you right I can't bear to see you like this". I giggled and smacked him lightly. He playfully pretended that he was very hurt. But I really thought that he was hurt and in a panic mode I said "you OK. Did I hurt you". He laughed and said "no its its OK".
We looked at the sound of the door bursting open. There were standing Samu, kita and aran. They rushed to his side and samu engulfed him in a tight hug. Suna laughed and said "Samu your squeezing me". Samu made the hug even tighter and said "I don't care". He let go of Suna and came by my side and said "you ok". I nodded and he said "I'm sure seeing him in this state is hard for you. And we all know that he is hurt but still look at him. He is trying his best to smile for us. For you". I smiled and replied "Yeah. And thanks Samu for your words. You really are a brother like figure for me". We hard the door open and saw tsumu standing there with teary eyes. He came and hugged Suna. Suna hugged him back. Tsumu let go of him and said "man. Rintarou you look like a mummy". Suna got mad and said "oh shut it".
Suna's POV
I saw Samu go and stand beside y/n. My mood dropped at the the sight. But I still kept the a smile for them. I accidentally heard their conversation. Samu went to y/n and said" you ok". She nodded and he said "I'm sure seeing him in this state is hard for you. And we all know that he is hurt but still look at him. He is trying his best to smile for us. For you". She smiled and replied" Yeah. And thanks Samu for your words. You really are a brother like figure for me".I smiled at his words. there are not dating. His words were trying to comfort her. I got it all wrong. I smiled in relief. The door shot open and there stood tsumu with teary eyes. Awww he is crying. For me. Now that. you don't see every day. He came and hugged me. I hugged him back. He let go and said "man. Rintarou you look like a mummy". I got mad and said "oh shut it."
Soon I was released and we were standing at the school gates. Samu and tsumu left for their house. Mine and y/n's house are in the same direction so we walked together. On the way we stopped near a park. The starry night was beautiful. We sat on a bench looking at the sky. We both sat in silence. But a comfortable silence. I was surprised she didn't question me about how I got into this situation. Soon she broke the silence by saying "Suna. Can I ask you something personal". I hummed in response. "do you. Like someone. As in do you have a crush on someone". I smiled and thought I would take my chances. I'm going to tell her. Even if rejects me I feel like if I wait any longer she might slip away. So I said "Yeah. There is". After saying that I looked at her. Her face was covered from her hair. I took her hand and she looked at me. We both stared at each other and I said "and right now. I'm holding her hand. So, say would you like to be my girlfriend". Her face lit up for some reason and she suddenly hugged me. I was surprised by her actions. She pulled away and said "I thought you would never ask. Yes baka. I'll be your girlfriend".
I smiled and leaned on for a kiss. So did she. We shared a first kiss under a tree. I would never forget this moment. It was getting late so we decided to head back. Her house was one block away from my house. But I still decided to walk her home. We were walking hand in hand. She smiled and said "who knew we would fall for eachother ". I chuckled and said "yeah. I ask that same question to myself every day". She tighten her grip on my hand and said "I'm really happy. Thank you suna". I smiled and kissed her fore head. Soon we reached to her house. She stood in front of me and hugged me. She pulled away and said "good night suna". I frowned and said "don't you think it's a little weird to call your boyfriend by his last name". She blushed and said "well than. I'm going to call you Rin". I blushed when she said my name like that. Well I only said that to see her blushing who knew she would make a nickname out of it. I tried to hide my blush and said "much better. Now go in. I'll see you tomorrow. Good night". With that said I kissed her forehead. She smiled and left.
Man how did my life turned out this way. I wonder what would be my team mates reaction when they finds out about us.

CHAPTER 4
Suna's POV
I looked at the sky to see the sun rising. I stayed up all night at the rooftop of my house thinking about y/n. I looked at my phone to see the time. I had 30 minutes before morning practice. I got down and changed. I freshened up a bit. I know Samu will question me if I look dead. I started to walk towards the school. Before I could enter the gym someone hitted hard on my head. I stumbled and looked back. I saw that Yato bastard. My blood started to boil. But I was not in the mood. I simply looked at him and was about to walk away when he dragged me to back of the school. He punched my mouth and I was sure there was a cut on my lips.
He laughed and said "remember this place . This is the place where you punched me. And you have the audacity to ignore me" . I spit the blood out and said " dude. I'm not in the mood or even in the shape to fight you. So I think you should stop wasting your time on me". Once I said that he smirked and said "who told you I'm gonna waste my time on you". I was kind puzzled but I didn't show it. He suddenly whistled. I saw four boys coming from behind him and he said "beat him until your satisfied. Oh and make sure to re-arrange his face". The four boys smirked started hitting me. They took of my shirt and beaten me with their belts. Man it was hurting so badly.
The bell rang and the boys went. I slowly stood up and since the classes were going there were no students around. I walked to the bathroom and wore my uniform and washed up. Thankfully I wore my long sleeved uniform today. It was hiding most of my bruises. My face only had a cut on the lips. And the back of my head was killing me. I walked over to my next class and sat down. Thankfully I don't have this class with anyone I know. Soon all the classes ended and it was time for practice again. I walked towards the gym and entered. I saw Samu and tsumu fighting over something. Y/n was folding the towels. I walked to the changing room and changed to a long sleeve shirt and a pair of shorts. I finished changing and went out. I saw that everyone started doing the warm ups so I joined them.
When I started running my legs were crying. All the organs in my body was aching. The practice was going well. Soon coach called and said "the match that was supposed to be on today have been postponed to tomorrow due to their personal reasons. So get started with you spike practice. And suna you do one person blocking". Great more pain. I nodded and took my position. Every ball they spiked came in contact with my hand. They were agonising. Coach called out that we can have a break. Thank God finally. I was walking towards the wall to lean on it. Before I reached there Samu and y/n approached me. I didn't had the energy to even greet them. I felt like I would collapse any moment now. I ignored them and was about walk away when tsumu came and playfully gave a hard Smack on my back and said "dude where were you this morning". The pain was unbearable. I opened my mouth give him a reply but before I could I collapsed. Be for my world went black i could see y/n shouting my name with tears in her eyes. Why is she crying isn't she dating Samu. Oh must be because I'm her best friend.
Y/n's POV
I didn't see Suna in any class today. I was worried sick. Did something happened to him. I was lost in my thoughts when tsumu came and said "Heyyy y/n-chan". I looked behind and saw Samu following him. Samu came and I simply gave him a side hug. Tsumu saw that and started to whine "Hey no fair. Samu gets a hug but I don't". I was about reply when Samu said "Well that because I'm her favourite". Because of Samu's reply tsumu busted out and said "SHUT YER TRAP". The classes were over and we went to the gym. As we entered Samu and tsumu started bickering about something. I just let them be and i started to fold the towels.
While I was folding the towel, I saw Suna come in and went to the change room. He changed and came back with a long sleeve shirt. Why is he wearing a long sleeve shirt. He never wears long sleeve shirts while playing volleyball. I remember him saying that they make it difficult to receive and block. I just shrugged and let it be. The practice match that was supposed to be on today was postponed for tomorrow. While they were practising I noticed that Suna was not in his game today. Soon everyone was done. Me and Samu was going to ask him if he was okay. Because he didn't talk to anyone since he came here. And the brothers even fought to see if he was okay. If he was okay he would take pictures or record their fights. He didn't even bother to stop them or even look at them.
We all tried to approach him. He even ignored me and Samu. This was a first. Soon tsumu came and smacked his back. And said "dude where were you this morning". Suna looked like he was going to reply but before he could say anything he collapsed. I ran towards him shouting his name. Hit tears were streaming down my face. I held his hand tightly. The coach took him to the school infirmary. I followed behind them. He told me to wait with Suna and that he was going back. I nodded and sat beside him as the nurse stated to check him. The nurse gasped loudly and I was worried sick. I looked at him and saw bruises on his body. And to be honest a lot of them. He had a cut on his lips as well. When Suna wakes up he has a lot to answer.
The nurse put ointment and left the room. I was sitting besides him while holding his hand. I looked at his body he was covered with bandages all over his body. Soon I drifted of to sleep.

CHAPTER 3
Y/n's POV
It was already morning and I barley got any sleep. I kept having Nightmares about yesterdays events. I was still terrified. Yato will be in class too, which is going to be hard. Well I will deal with it some how. Oh and most difficult thing I have to do today is, tell the twins about yesterday. I doubt that Suna told them. Anyways I'm gonna tell them. I walked inside the classroom and saw Suna sleeping on the desk. He was sleeping so comfortably. I made my way and sat next to him. I sat there and slowly caressed his hair. And said "Suna wake up. I have to tell you something". I know he will wake up if you whisper or try to wake him up with a low voice. He hates when it's loud. He slowly opened his eyes and when he saw me he relaxed and went to the position he was before. I took my hand out of his hair and I was about to talk when he held my wrist and said "Umm can you keep doing it. It's relaxing". I knew what he meant and started playing with hair. His hair is very soft.
He was looking at me with soft eyes. I never saw him look at me this way. To tell you the truth my heart kinda skipped a beat. I took a deep breath and said "Suna. Thanks for yesterday. I don't know how to show you that I'm truly thankful for what you did yesterday". He smiled and held my free hand and said "y/n. If you really are thankful, please try to forget what that bastard did and keep smiling. And if anything. I repeat anything happens to you your coming to Me ok". I smiled and blushed at his words. Wait why am I blushing. Stop blushing and get a hold of yourself y/n. We both were staring at each other. I wanted to look away but his eyes are were so deep. It's like you could get lost in them and never come back. We both heard the sound of the door opening and looked to see who it was. I saw Suna put his head back on the table.
I took my hand out of his hair and turned around and saw tsumu coming towards me with full speed. He hugged me tight and said "y/n-Chan. Where were you yesterday. I was so worried. I couldn't even keep my head in the game". I hugged him back and once he pulled away, I was engulfed in another hug. I knew it was Samu. His hugs are more of a brotherly like. It's warm and comfortable. It's not so tight or not so loose. His hugs just shows the love and care he has for a person. He pulled away and said "you good". I nodded my head and said "um guys I have something to tell you". They both looked at me and took their seats in front of us. When they were seated I continued.
( y/n explaining to them).
When I was done I looked at them and tsumu was mad and Samu well he was worried and had a hint of madness. I looked at Suna and he had his hand in a fist. He was putting too much pressure on his hand to the point where his knuckles got white. Tsumu looked at me and said "guys. I have plan. Y/n you try to avoid him. And always try to be with one of us. You have classes with one of us all the time. And go to gym with one of us too. And if you feel scared or anxious find someone who makes you feel safe". When tsumu said that all of us were shocked. I did not know how but Suna had his phone on vedio that time. After a few minutes tsumu said "what". We all looked at each other speechless when Samu said "I'm just in a deep shock and a bit proud. I'm on shock because I didn't knew you had a brain. I'm proud because my brother is actually using his new found brain". When Samu finished his sentence all of us bursted into laughter. Even Suna was laughing.
Tsumu got mad and said " SAMU SHUT IT. WE BOTH SHARE THE SAME BLOOD". When tsumu said that Samu was getting ready for a comeback. Before Samu could say anything Suna said "wait. I wouldn't say you too got same blood. If it were up to me I would say you both were from the same species". After finishing his sentence he bursted in to laughter. The miya brothers started to fight again. I leaned closer to Suna and said "Suna. Can you please smile more often".he looked at me and said " nah it's ok". I took his hand and said "you look cute when you smile. Will you smile more. For me". When I said that I blushed. Like why did I have to say for me. He also looked shocked. We both looked at the brothers to see if they heard anything. Luckily they were too caught up in there fight. He looked at me and said "fine. But only for you ok". I was a blushing mess. Is it happening. Am I starting to fall for this idiot. I shook that thought and we heard the bell ring and the students coming in.
Soon the teacher came and the lesson carried on. All the classes were over and I was heading towards the gym with Samu. On the way we decided to talk a little since it's been a long time since we both had a conversation. Like just the two of us. I took the first step and said "Samu. What does it feels like to like someone. Like how do you know it". Samu thought for a while and said "I'm no love expert like tsumu. But I think it the feeling where you want to be with that person more and you blush at his little gestures and do other things with him". I nodded and he said "wait do you by chance like someone". I panicked and said "what no. Me. Pfft. I don't - I don't like anyone. What are-are you talking a-about. You-you joker". He laughed and stood in front of me. He held my hand and said "you like someone. Now say who is the unlucky person". You hitted his chest and said "Samu. Don't say it like that. He is not unlucky. He is really lucky ok". Samu chuckled and said "well I know that he is very lucky. I only said it like that to hear you like someone from your mouth. And now I know there is a someone. Who is it". I took a deep breath and said "you won't tell anyone right. Pinky promise". I held my pinky towards him and he said "you said I'm like your brother right. I won't tell anyone but to your satisfaction here pinky promise".
I looked at his eyes and said "it's Suna". He looked surprised and said "really. Yes now tsumu owes me 100 bucks". I was surprised and said "dude did you really bet on it". He nodded his head and said "if you like Suna he will give me hundred bucks. But if you like aran I had to give him 100 bucks". I kept nodding while processing everything. I suddenly I remembered that he was my best friend. I sadly looked at Samu and said "Samu is it wrong to like your Bestfriend. I mean will he return this feelings". He held my hand and said "no. Don't ever think like that. I'm sure he likes you too". I looked at him and asked "you think so". He replied saying "I know so.and I'll help you get him. Ok". I smiled and said "thanks I love you samu". He smiled and said "love you too".
I was really happy with the pep talk we had. He really knows the right words to cheer someone up. I entered the gym and saw that Suna was not here. The coach told everyone to gather round. Once everyone was here the coach said "you guys are having a practice match with aoba josai tommorow. I want all of you to be on your best behaviour". Once he said that. It didn't take a minute and the two brothers were gone berserk. The coach sighn and said "at least try". With that he left.
The practice stated and Suna still hasn't shown up. I looked at tsumu and he signaled me to look at the door. Once I looked at the door I saw Suna standing there. He walked to the changing room and got changed once he was done he started doing the warm ups. I followed his every moments.i was too lost in my thoughts when someone whispered in my ear "I know you like him but. Madam please control". I looked at samu and smacked him jokingly.
Suna's POV
I was walking to the gym when I saw Samu and y/n walking together. I saw them and ran up to catch up with them. Once I was close enough to hear what there were talking about I heard her say 'I love you'. My heart broke at her words. I looked at Samu and he held her hand and said 'I love you too'. It broke my heart. Well why did I even get my hopes up. Of course she would never even look at me that way. I'm just a loser. I was too broken. I walked over to the gym and I entered it I saw her looking at me when I entered. I didn't bother to say Hi, and I left to the changing room. While I was changing I thought even if she does not like me back I have to treat her as my best friend. While I was doing warm ups I saw Samu whisper something in her ear. She laughed and smacked him lightly. Must be nice. Don't worry. I will always support you two. I love you y/n. And Samu dude you better keep her happy.

Y/n's POV
It's been a month since I became the manager for inarizaki high Volleyball team. I'm really close with the members. Samu and tsumu are like my big brothers. And suna has became my best friend. We are really close. Like we share all the secrets we have. People say that he is not a people person. And I can't really argue with that. Yeah he is bitter and says mean things but he means well. And I noticed he only talks with the members of Volleyball team and me. He just keeps a strait face all the times. In the past month I saw him smile once. And it was so pretty. I wish he smiles more often. One thing about Suna that irritates me is that when ever we hang out he will always be on his phone.
Anyway I was walking towards the gym when a hand stopped me. Before I could react that person took me to back of the school. Honestly I really hate this place. This is the place where most of the students comes to confess to their crush. How do I know this. Well tsumu is a regular at here. So yeah. Suna and Samu also come but most of all it tsumu. I looked at the person's face and saw it was Yato. I don't talk to him but since he is in my class I know him. He is known as one of the players in second year.
He looked at me and said "l/n-Chan. I've been meaning to tell you this for a while now. I'm just gonna come and say it". He was looking in my eyes and talking. I started feeling really uncomfortable and from his words I don't like where this is going. "I like you l/n-chan". I looked at him and said " I don't want to be mean or anything but I don't feel the same way. Hope you find someone better than me". After I said that I started to walk away but he grabbed my wrist and harshly slammed me on the wall. He was holding my wrist with his one hand while others one was on the wall near my waist. My breathing became faster and I started to get scared. I was terrified by now. He kept coming closer to my face and once he was centimetres far from my face he said "when I said I like you. You have to say yes Yato I like you too. And listen here. What I want I always get it. Right now all I want is you. And this not a choice this is a order". I was scared to death by I still managed to say "Who are you to give me orders. I don't take orders from a psychopath". Oops o just crossed the line by saying psychopath. Yeah I'm dead now. He got mad and kissed me roughly. He pulled my hair back. I was crying by now. Someone please help me. Suna, where are you. Please someone any one. I was praying in my mind that someone would come and help me. I closed my eyes. I was tired from all the crying. And him abusing me isn't helping.
I opened my eyes because It seemed like he pulled away. But I what I saw surprised me. He was on the ground. His mouth was bleeding. He was groaning in pain. I looked up and saw Suna. He had an expression I never saw. He looked like he was ready kill anyone at any moment now. Once I saw him I gathered up all the energy I had left and ran and hugged him. He hugged me back while caressing my back.
Suna's POV
We were at the gym practicing. I kept taking glances at the door looking for y/n. I was worried she was never late. She would be the first person to come here. Then why was she missing. I kept having bad feelings and Negative thoughts. Yeah y/n might think I look at her as my best friend. But no, I can never look at her as my best friend. I didn't believe that a person like me could ever like or loved someone. But y/n changed that. I love her. One month might be a short amount of time to fall for someone but I have fallen hard for her. But she thinks of me as her best friend. I can live with that for a while. We were almost over and she still hasn't come. We were given a ten minutes break. I was about to head out when Samu came and said "dude where is y/n. She's late. I'm having a bad feeling about this. Even that boke is worried". I kept a hand on his shoulder and said "Yeah I'm getting a feeling like that too. I'm just gonna go look for her ok''. Samu nodded and went back.
I was searching around the halls where I heard some students say.
'hey did you see that Yato was dragging l/n with him'.
'Poor girl. She became his target'.
'I would love to be his target '.
' him? he is a playboy. I would rather go for Miya twins or suna'.
I overheard their conversation and walked over to them. I kept my cool and asked "Hey. Have you seen y/n. She is our manager and she has some errands to run". The girl started to squeal and said "Yeah she is at the back of the school with yato". I nodded and started to walk. When I reached the back of the school. I saw that Yato bastard kissing her. I quickly made my way towards them. I grabbed his clothes, pulled him away and punched his mouth. I was fuming. How could he do this to her. For Gods sake she is so innocent.
I looked at her and the state she was in was killing me. It was like knives were being stabbed in my chest continuously. She saw me and ran towards me. She jumped on me and hugged my neck. She was crying so bad. I hugged her back. I buried my face in the crook of her neck. He looked at me from the ground and said "you. I'm gonna get you for this. Remember".
I looked at her and she was still crying. I held her cheeks and made her look at me. When she looked at me I said "y/n you're safe now. I'm here. I'll always be. Ok. No one's gonna hurt you. When your with me your always safe I'll protect you". She nodded and hugged me again.
I sat there with her until she was finished. When she was done she pulled away and looked at me. Her eyes were red Dromore crying and her nose was red. To be honest she is the first girl who I find cute after she has cried. I held her cheeks and said "listen. And don't cry again. The sight was killing me. I don't like seeing you in pain. So come to me if anything happens. Ok". She nodded and smiled. I leaned in and kissed her fore head. Since it was really late I walked her home. We said our goodbyes and I went home. On the way back I thought to myself. Starting tomorrow I'm gonna make life a hell for Yato.

THE MIDDLE BLOCKER
CHAPTER 1
Y/N's POV
It was my first day at inarizaki high. I'm in my second year. I heard about this school's Volleyball team. That's why I decided to join this school. You see I'm really interested in Volleyball but I stopped playing after middle school. I was the middle blocker of my team back then. But due to a leg injury I was restricted from playing volleyball for a year. I wanted to play so badly that I did a surgery and I'm aloud to play now. But I'm afraid of messing up and not playing like before. So I never played after the surgery. But I still go to watch Volleyball tournaments.
I entered the famous inarizaki high and made my way to the office and got my schedule. I had Japanese class first so I made my way to my classroom on the second floor. While I was walking around I saw two boys bickering about something. They looked really alike. Are they twins. I realised that I was staring for too long thats why I quickly looked away and started walking fast. I entered the classroom in a hurry and in the process I bumped into someone. I could tell that someone is a boy. Because of the hard chest. I said a quick sorry not looking at the person and I started gathering my belongings which were spread all around.
Once I was done I stood up and made my way towards the teacher. The teacher smiled at me and said "oh you must be L/N". I nodded and she said "class look over here. Today a new student is joining you guys and her name is L/N F/N". I bowed when she finished saying that. The teacher looked at me and said " l/n you can go and sit next to Suna. Suna rais your hand". I saw a hand shot up in the air and I made my way and took a seat next to him. He was sitting at the last row. Which is really a good place if you ask me. I saw the two boys from earlier sitting in front of me. After taking a proper look at the two boys I figured out that they were twins and if it weren't for the hair colour telling them apart would be really heard. More like impossible.
I was taking some notes while the teacher was teaching. I looked at my right and Suna simply sitting with his elbow on the desk and his head resting on his palm. Soon a few periods were over and it was recess. I stretched my arms and decided to draw something. I took out a drawing book from my bag and started drawing a past memory. I started drawing the time when I got the best middle blocker of the tournament. While I was focused on my work I hear a 'Woah'. I looked up and saw the two boys looking at me. Turned out the one who made the 'Whoa' was the one with blonde hair.
When I looked up he said "you have a awesome talent". I smiled and said "thanks". I turned to the boy with grey hair and he asked me"are you interested in Volleyball". I looked at him and nodded my head. The two boys gave each other a look and nodded there head together. It looked like they were having a conversation in there minds.
The one with grey hair looked at me and said " my name is Miya Osamu and this is my twin Miya Atsumu. We both are players in inarizaki high Volleyball team. Right now we are trying to find a manager for our Volleyball team if your interested would you like to join". I looked at them while nodding excitedly and said " really. Thank you for the offer I'll take it. Oh and my name is L/N F/N. You can call me y/n.
I looked at them and said" So what positions do you play". Atsumu grinned and said "I'm the setter". I looked Osamu for his answer and he said "I'm a wing spiker. The one who is sitting next to you is our middle blocker". I turned to face Suna and he was looking at me. This was the first time I had a proper look at him. He is really handsome if you ask me. We stood there staring at each other for a few minutes. The bell range bringing us to our own worlds.
The day was really tiring. The classes were over and I was heading to the gym with Osamu. Once I entered I saw the boys doing service practice. I scanned the whole room and found Atsumu and Suna stretching. The whole team gathered and I introduced myself. They were really happy to have me. Well I'm twice as happier than them because I'm there manager. I was lost in my thoughts when I heard my name being called out loud. I looked at the direction that the sound came and found a ball coming in my direction at a fast speed. I knew I couldn't avoid it, so I prepared myself for the impact. I waited for the impact but it never came. I opened my eyes and saw Suna standing in front of me while holding the ball.
He gave the ball back to the team and said "are you ok". I heard his voice for the first time. it was like a sweet melody. I slowly nodded my head. Soon the practice ended and everyone headed out. I closed up and went home last.
On the way back I was thinking how close I got to the team except of Suna. Maybe I'll try to be friends with him.
