I love this so much! The fabric we wrap around our feet is like 3 meters long, and its super hard to tie it perfectly on your own. It's very common for friends (and your parents) to tie them for you!!
This is such a tender moment i cant
I'm dying

Hey, I have a question. I saw someone headcanon their hws Norway as part Sámi and use some Sámi elements in their fanarts to their Norway, what do you feel about that? Is it uncomfortable or weird if someone made their hws Norway half/part Sámi due to Norway’s history with Sápmi, or is it just “who cares lmao”?
Good question!
I think you would get a different answer from different Sámi, it's quite a hot topic nowadays of what is okay/not okay for "outsiders" to do with our culture. I think I'm more on the open side because I believe culture should be shared, that is the best policy. I have personally been to Japan and been invited to try their traditional clothes/practices, it was so amazing and educational! Though, I think there is a tasteful way of doing it. I would not be opposed to letting my friends try on my traditional clothing ect. (Actually, when you marry a Sámi you're technically Sámi too in our culture, so you adopt the dress from the area of your spouse. Sorry bf, when you marry me you are no longer Portuguese!)
Now, for me and with the story I have built around my OC Sápmi, I think it definitively makes sense for Norway (as well as Finland, Sweden and Russia) to be part Sámi, as he has been part of their upbringing. I do agree with @ifindus's head canon that Norway doesn't speak the language, since it is a dying language.
I guess, you could even argue that since he is not an official country (just a land area named Sápmi/Lapland) he could be "dead" in canon, like the other ancients (e.i. Scandinavia, Rome, Germania). I argue that because the Sámi culture is still strong and living, that he could still be alive, kinda like how Prussia is still alive.

Sápmi and Norways relationship is quite complicated.
Sápmi was the one to first discover him; a little boy, barefeet in the chilly wet tundra. Without hesistation he brought him into his lávvu, a traditional sami tent, where he clothed and fed him. Sápmi is quite nostalgic about this time and will tell any unfortune soul with an ear to lend all the stories about young Norway.
"I could barely get any work done! He would sometimes wrap around my leg and simply refuse to let go, haha!"
However, eventually Scandinavia reached the northermost parts of the Norwegian territory and after a brief but violet confrontation Sápmi would be forced to give up the young boy to the much larger and stronger Scandinavia. This was when Norway joined up with Denmark and Sweden. After this, Sápmi would sometimes approach him when he was alone, making sure he was always well-fed and properly clothed, teaching him valuble lessons about nature and spiritualism. The influence of sámi shamanism together with norse mythology is one of the reasons why Norway can see and speak with spirits.
After having gained independence from Denmark in 1814, Norway finally had his own constitution. In this period of time, the young nation fixiated on creating a Norwegian identity due to technically being under Swedish control. He wanted true independence, but he knew this could only be achieved through establishing a strong Norwegian nationalism throughout the population. This is where he and Sápmi would butt heads.
Norway hoped to integrate Sápmi into modern society, leaving behind the "hedonistic" lifestyle that the Sámi people lived. In his still immature mind, why would anyone choose living in a lávvu and the physically straining task of hoarding reindeer through the unforgiving tundra over a house, education and stable income? After Sápmi outright refused, he saw no other choice than to reinstate a harsh policy to Norwegianize the Sámi people by removing their culture, language and religious practices, sometimes by violent measures. This policy would last until the 1960s.
This is a part of Norwegian history that Norway regrets immensely today, and he has taken many measures in order to assist Sápmi in rebuilding his people's culture and language... Now that he is more mature, he has realized that:
"In the land of Norway, there is space for all kinds of people and culture."

Long distance lovers </3
I can't help myself with these two, I often find myself thinking about them. I think there are just so much that can be explored with their relationship. I imagine them being quite similar, being quite avid users of media they probably share the same humour (kinda like me and my bf, although we are from complete opposite parts of Europe lol)
Also, I imagine they don't face too much culture differences between eachother, seeing as Hong lived sometime with England, also by being cronically online... However!! Just imagine the family gatherings between China, Taiwan, Macau (maybe some other asian countries like Korea and Japan?) and the Nordics. Pure chaos and fun haha
,, Anyway, thanks for listening to an old lady's ramblings... Hope you enjoy this little drawing
Sidenote! If you want the lineart file to colour this piece for yourself hmu and I'll send it to you, I was struggeling so much and I wonder what other people would do

Looking for someone to play Norway ❤ Set the 17th of May, 1914.
A perfect harmony of notes created by talented and calloused fingertips filled the large ball-room with music which blending in seamlessly with the cheerful laughs and chatter. Even so, Magnus found himself frozen in his stance by the bar, haven already downed a couple of drinks during his ten minute long presence at the party. He had been beyond surprised when receiving the letter of invitation in celebration of a hundred year old constitution. Honestly, Magnus had considered not going, he had attempted to remove the man from his memory completely in the century they had spent apart... And now here he was, celebrating their very separation. ". . ." Feeling somber, Magnus locked eyes on his third drink, wondering if somehow it could remove the continuous  discomfort growing in his stomach. Perhaps it was best to simply leave before the Norwegian even saw him, the crowd was bountiful without him and he doubted his absence would go noticed. As he thought this very thought, the music picked up it’s tempo and people moved naturally towards the dance floor. A woman tapped him on the shoulder, inaudibly inviting him along with an extended arm, which he hesitated in taking; but the liquor in his stomach gave him the needed courage to accept. With a sheepish smile, Magnus tailed behind her long dress, following her lead. With a new found confidence, he gave her a spin and picked up his heavy feet as they danced till to the upbeat tune. The woman smiled at him, and he returned it happily, though neither of them shared a single word. Somber at the end of the song, he reluctantly handed her away to the next man and welcomed his new partner; his hand easily slipping across their waist while the other wrapped itself around the familiar hand. The music slowed as their eyes met, his heart skipping at the beat of the drums. "N-Nor!"

Hello everyone! It’s been a tough year for us all, and I wish I had been a bit more active on here. Still, I thank you for supporting me along the way!
For the fourth year in the row, I will be running a fundraising campaign for Liberty in North Korea, an organization that works to help people fleeing the North Korean regime safely make it to freedom. So, I’ve set up a Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) fundraising page, the link to which can be found in my blog description or as a secondary reblog of this post (posts with links won’t show in the tags).
Since Hetalia is back and in the spotlight (and not always in the best way), I want to prove that Hetalians aren’t just here for stereotypes and parody–our involvement in this fandom has changed many of us for the better, enlightening us to people and cultures we may have never otherwise known or cared about. Therefore, in honor of Hetalia’s 2021 return, I’m setting the goal this year at $500, the most ambitious yet since I’ve been running these fundraisers, by January 1st. According to LiNK, $100 is what it costs them to provide shelter and food for a family of four for one night. As a fandom, we can provide care for a family of four for five nights. Think about that…a fandom full a people who love these silly, endearing personifications of the nations of the world, providing safety and shelter to people fleeing famine and authoritarianism.
I know people can be strapped for cash this time of year, so don’t feel bad if you can’t donate! You can still reblog this post to help more people see it! I will also reblog this post with some more information about LiNK if you would like to learn more about what challenges North Korean refugees face and what sort of work LiNK does for them!
Let’s band together and change someone’s life for the better!
