HELLO, WE'RE STILL ALIVE AND THRIVING. WELL, SORTA...
Ripping the band-aid off... We took an unexpected, horribly rude and stupidly long hiatus. I know. But... WE'RE BACK! And we're ready to get a fresh start on these prompts. We're still looking for MORE writers. We're still low on stories and we want to pick things up again. I as an admin have really let things go, and I apologize. I went on vacation and just ignored y'all for a long time and that was wrong of me. I'm so sorry and I'll try no to let it happen again, at least without warning.

The Compatibility of Jealousy and Coffee (Scallison)

Word count: 1,750
Summary: Scott decides to take Malia out for coffee and a movie to help her deal with her most recent brake up with Stiles, only he doesn’t expect to see his ex at the coffee shop too. Scallison with a viewers’ interpretation of stalia.

“Some of us view it as over-priced energy.” Scott joked as they approached the door. A quiet bell rang as he opened the door, signaling to the baristas that another customer had come.
The coffee house was like any small-town coffee shop. Not that crowded, or loud, as only a few people were here on a Sunday morning. The room had muted peach walls, and was filled with tables and the sweet but bitter scent of coffee.
They started to order their drinks (the barista was from their school and told Malia her favorite drink after a bad break-up), and each a pastry as the bell rang again. Scott turned his head to see who it was, only to find someone he really did not want to see on his enjoyable day:
Allison.
Things had been tense with them at late, and he really wished they weren’t. They’d tried to get back together after her near-death by oni, and for a while it had been perfect. Then the deadpool had come along, bringing his mistake that took everything to shit: he bit Liam.
It had made things tense like nothing since Gerard. Scott understood why, she’d lost her mom to a bite that an alpha had given without permission, and it had brought up bad blood between Allison and her dealings in supernatural affairs. She hadn’t been mad at him for long, especially when Liam hadn’t seemed that upset at Scott about it, but in the craziness of the deadpool, they’d agreed their relationship needed to be put aside. It was distracting from what needed to be done: take down the benefactor and protect their town, which couldn’t be done while sorting through a tough time in their relationship.
Only it had been two weeks since they’d put Peter in Eichen house, and Allison hadn’t said anything to him about the possibility of getting back together. He didn’t want to push her, and it just made everything between them awkward.
“You know, you might want to make it two of your break-up drink there.” Malia said (it’s progress) to the barista as Allison came up to get in line behind them with…Stiles…
Fantastic.
He saw Allison’s look of resentment at Malia. The two got along fine, but she could be a bit too…blunt for Allison sometimes. Not to mention that Stiles was with her, making things worse for Malia.
It was his fault for wanting a normal morning, as far as high school went, this was normal.
The barista nodded and replaced Scott’s drink for the same one Malia had gotten after Scott had given the ok. They went to the side to wait for their drinks as Allison and Stiles ordered.
“So, how’s math going?” Scott asked Malia, who seemed to be trying not to look at Stiles with varying degrees of success.
“Lydia’s notes are helping, and Kira’s helping me catch up with lower levels of math that apparently should make everything easier to understand.” She said while getting her coffee and muffin, then leading Scott over to a secluded, slightly worn out table.
“How’s lacrosse?” She asked as if she hadn’t been to every game to watch Stiles and her other friends.
He was about to answer as Stiles sat down right next to Scott.
Stiles was his best friend in the entire world, but sometimes Stiles did not think things though.
“Hey guys, what a funny coincidence running into you two here.” Stiles said, smile a bit too forced.
This was not the rebound angle his friend should be taking.
“Well, we’re going to see you tomorrow at school, so maybe Scott and I should get going.” Malia said, obviously not wanting to see her ex at the moment.
Allison raised an eyebrow.
“But you guys just got your coffee, you haven’t even started your muffin.” She pointed out.
“Well, Scott was going to take me to see ‘As Above So Below,’ so we really don’t want to be late.” Malia said, angling it more towards Stiles.
Oh no.
Oh no no no no.
Scott wanted to pull Malia aside and tell her jealousy was not the key to getting back at Stiles ( or maybe it was her way to get back together with him, he really didn’t understand them sometimes), especially not in front of Allison, who he wanted to get back together with.
“You’re taking her to a movie?!” Stiles and Allison asked him at the same time.
“It’s not like that-“ Scott started as Allison cut him off.
“Oh no, it’s fine. Stiles and I were planning on taking a jog through the woods anyway.” She said, half glaring at Malia.
He couldn’t help the jealousy that bubbled up in him, even though he knew she was probably just retaliating to Malia, who was now giving Stiles a full on bitch-face.
“Just as friends!” Stiles piped up, under Malia’s gaze.
“Yea, this is just as friends too! I figured I’d take her to that movie we both wanted to see because of…” Scott trailed off as Stiles shot him a look, not wanting the break-up brought to the table.
“Because of nothing.” Malia finished for him.
“Friends can see movies together.” She continued, obviously not wanting Stiles to see she was messed up over the break up.
“And friends can go jogging together.” Allison replied, both her and Malia sounding as if they saw it as just a possibility.
This was not what Scott had wanted to accomplish from getting coffee this morning.
“No! Ok, stop.” Scott said.
If recent events had taught him anything, it was that time shouldn’t be wasted on drama and such. They’d lost people, good people, who would not want them wasting their sometimes too short lives in a petty spat over dumb revenge crap like this.
“Malia, please do not use me as a way to get back at Stiles. And Stiles, if you want to get back with her, you need to actually talk things through with her.” He told them not letting this mess get any bigger. They both seemed unable to find a response.
“So you aren’t on a date with her?” Allison asked him.
“No.” Him and Malia confirmed.
“Malia, can I talk with you?” Stiles finally asked, looking apologetic. She nodded and they went over to a different, yet very similar table, leaving Scott and Allison sitting alone.
They sat there, Allison picking at Malia’s long forgotten blueberry muffin, in a seemingly endless awkward silence. He was about to get up when Allison spoke up.
“I’m sorry. That was stupid of me, I shouldn’t’ve gotten jealous, I mean, we haven’t even been together for a month.” She said, sounding slightly bitter.
“Hey, its fine, I’ve had my moments too.” Scott said, laughing it off.
She seemed to be thinking through what to say, and Scott gave her time, sipping away at his coffee (which was actually pretty good, having had time to cool down).
“What made you tell them to go sort it out?” Allison settled on, surprising Scott. He shrugged.
“I don’t know. I guess after losing the people we’ve lost, and you almost dying… It just doesn’t seem worth it. I feel like I can’t even look at any of you without thinking, ‘how long until I fail someone else, and we’re putting them 6 feet in the ground.’” Scott confessed, looking over to two of his closest friends in a deep conversation.
“They mean too much to me to see them waste what they’ve got fighting over stupid things, and refusing to actually talk to each other about it.” Scott concluded.
“They’re not going anywhere Scott, none of us are.” Allison reassured him, looking concerned as she came to his side of the table to sit beside him. She grabbed his hands, and looked him in the eyes.
“Listen to me Scott, it’s good to live in the moment, but you can’t live in constant dread of loosing any of us. We have lives to live, in constant fear or dread isn’t the way to live them.” She told him, and she stared at him, looking conflicted. Then, determination shined in her eyes and she pressed her lips sweetly to his. He cupped her face with his hand, feeling like everything in the world was right once again.
She pulled back, looking slightly unsure of what she’d just done.
“You’re right about one thing though, the best way to live is in the moment.” Allison said, brushing back her brown curls.
“So, how about we go somewhere together soon.” Allison suggests.
“Next Saturday.” Scott confirms as Malia comes back over.
“So, you’re not going to cancel this movie thing right? Even though you two are something again, you did say you’d take me. We’ve been excited for this since the trailer.” Malia said, smiling.
“Movie is definitely still on, although how about these two join us?” Scott asks, as Stiles comes over, grinning.
“That sounds great.” Malia and Stiles say at the same time, to which they all laugh.
Scott leaves the coffee place hand in hand with Allison, off to see a movie with the people he’s started death in the face with.
All in all, he’s leaving in a much better situation then he entered with.

Thursday Hello!
Not going to lie, I'm a little disappointed in some of my writers. Most of them seem to have completely abandoned their prompts, which really sucks. I'm so sorry to those of you who have been repeatedly requesting prompts that I haven't found anyone to fill. Hopefully this weekend/next week, we will have a boost in stories and we will be functioning normally again.
Thanks to everyone who's stuck with us! I at least have no plans to disband this blog. I am committed.
