20 Years Ago the PlayStation 2 Was Born...

Yeah, you read it right: 20 years ago, on March 4 2000, the PlayStation 2 was hitting the stores! Are we getting old? I feel like I’m getting old, even though I was just two years old when it launched! In any case, this is the console that is remarked by many players as one of the best ever made, and the sales confirm this since the PS2 is the console that, in the future, would become the best-selling home console of all time!

All this greatness surely deserves some celebration, right? So here are some questions for us to remember and share our most beloved memories of this console:

Did you play the PlayStation 2?

Important first question! I don’t remember when I earned the console but I remember playing it quite a lot, more than the PSOne. I still wasn’t a gamer but it was at the end of the PS2 generation that I started playing more and different games and decided to pay more attention to this growing industry.

What are some of your favorite PS2 games?

There was an apparently infinite universe of games in the PS2 especially for the poor souls who pirated the console to buy stupidly cheap games, one of the main reasons that make it so beloved.

Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin team up to create The Last of Us series for HBO

First of all: I never wanted a live-action adaptation of The Last of Us. Second: holy shit! I mean, sure, the idea still sounds a bit weird but it’s Neil Druckmann, Creative Director of The Last of Us – Part I and Part II, and Craig Mazin, writer and producer of the acclaimed miniseries Chernobyl, who are the helm of the writing and executive production, so how could I not get excited?!

Carolyn Strauss (Game of Thrones, Chernobyl) will also executive produce along with Evan Wells, the president of Naughty Dog. The project is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television in association with PlayStation Productions, that new wing announced some time ago that had the intention to adapt video games in a more faithful format; and yes, The Last of Us will be the first television series from PlayStation Productions.

Ghost of Tsushima – Official Story & Release Date Trailer + Special Editions

After so many speculation and requests, it’s finally here! Today, Sucker Punch released the Official Story and Release Date Trailer for the highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima. The game is coming out in June 26th, 2020, so it turns out it won’t be a PS5 launch title… but we can surely expect a “reinvigorated” version for the next-gen!

The Last of Us – Part II: New and Free Dynamic Theme, Playable Demo at PAX East & More!

Naughty Dog has shared some cool new information about the highly-anticipated The Last of Us – Part II, including a new dynamic theme for PlayStation 4 and when a few lucky fans will be able to get hands-on with the game! Check it out:

ELLIE EDITION RESTOCKED

Fans sent e-mails, letters and messages on social media asking for more Ellie Editions, a very special collector’s edition that quickly sold out shortly after being announced last September. The team has announced that we’ll get more of those beauties but again, they’re limited! Starting Thursday, February 13 at 6:00 am PST, fans will be able to pre-order Ellie Edition at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart.com, Target, and EB Games for $229.99 USD / $299.99 CAD MSRP. Unfortunately, it’s only available at select retailers across US and Canada.

The Last of Us – Part II launches on May 29. Just three months left, people!
