Writing a paper about the rise of aesthetics and micro trends in relation to feminism. Currently focusing on how these aesthetics are just a rebranded and new way of controlling female beauty standards, categorising and therefore minimising women and their identity.

'Office siren' - as a recreation of the well-known 'sexy office worker' figure.

'Coquette-core' - 'soft' femininity - baby pinks, ribbons and bows. Follows the idea of women as gentle and tender, and therefore submissive.

'Clean girl' - the use of 'girl' infantilises women, and the main idea of a clean girl is to have minimal makeup in a way that it looks like she wears no make up at all - this clearly follows the trend of men saying women shouldn't wear makeup as it hides a woman's 'natural beauty.'

Also 'mafia wife' which is defined by the position of wifehood, with the added risqué allure of this projection of danger with the mafia.

If anyone has any other ideas of these kinds of aesthetics and trends that I could study I would love you forever, I don't follow these trends so I'm real out of the loop here 😭😭🙏

Just watched fnaf movie so spoilers ahead!!

I'm not a huge fnaf fan jusy for context so please don't attack me LMAO, I used to play it when I was way younger and know enough vagueish lore to pass me by lol.

Let me tell u, it was FUNNY LMFAO.

The jumpscares were good enough (I'm a total wimp w 'horror' movies tho so rest assured I am not used to any jumpscsres at all x), and ig the movie was just fun, I've got to say my expectations were through the roof tho so maybe this is on me 😭😭 in my opinion (!!) it was okay, it was chill. I'd say fun enough to watch at home w a group so u could all have a laugh.

Thank god it wasn't as bad as all the memes ppl have been making abt what they expect ('together. We are fnaf.' Etc LMFAO) but to be completely brutally honest it wasn't far HAGAHA they borderline made daisy chains and stood in a friendship circle.

I'm not sure if anyone rlly was (I'm not in fnaf fandom) but don't go into it expecting it to be any actual horror (my fault for expecting loads of gore LMAO I should've expected this considering the movie rating) but all in all it was funny. It was fun. Me and my gf had a laugh.

Anyway still go watch! The cameos are awesome. Matthew lillard SERVED. And clearly by my pfp I was v pleased w josh hutcherson. Go watch! I'm so desperate to hear what other ppls thoughts are.

Gwen's universe will always be my fave bc the way they use it is just ugh the best.

Like look here near the beginning where its tense but gwen and her dad still come together and the light coming from their hug just bleeds across the screen, but surrounding that is still the darkness that no, they're not out of the woods yet and there's still secrets and there's still something wrong.

But then later, near the end, where they finally find real, true acceptance with eachother, and the screen (and the whole audience) is just bathed in white and you can just feel gwen's joy and their love through the screen. Nothing else matters, there's no darkness that they're willing to ignore for now, no shadows in the corners, there's just this blinding light, the love between father and child.

Gwen's universe gives a perfect visual representation of the initial discord between the two (where they're painted in completely opposing colours as if they're on opposing sides - of the law as gwens dad sees it), and their relationship is muddied by the captain's goal as an officer and gwen's role as spiderman. Then the pure white of this innocent, pure love between parent and child and the representation that their goals weren't so different in the first place.
