accidentally uncovered a fuck up in my boss’s project where they ordered instrument air positioners for two new flow control valves instead of instrument gas. Lol. i was talking to the supplier about an unrelated issue and bro casually dropped this tidbit in conversation. i was just like

don’t let anyone trick you into believing engineers know what they’re doing..

#the job had been farmed out to a consultancy and was being managed by several ex employees of the company #the irony is hilarious but also quite characteristic of adelaide #in hindsight it would’ve been even funnier if i hadn’t told my boss and just let the valves be delivered with the wrong positioners #like they’re up for $20000 in sunk costs now but it could’ve been much worse. missed opportunity #however i do think i was right to snitch bc if those valves had been installed & the positioners blew up in service #it wouldn’t have been the project managers or engineers that got hurt.. #work

#the candle one omg #i frequently have to swap rooms if there’s an egregious odour in my room (such as if my dad’s been using cologne - his room is next to mine #because i cannot sleep in the presence of smells that trigger whatever the fuck first world problem i have in my head #the vegetable drawer one is a close second though - we go through a lot of veggies & there’s inevitably some that go off & get thrown out #and third would be plate that keeps food hot. i usually take 2-3 hours to finish a meal. shits definitely cold by then!
