The Sims 4: Fashion Career Mod

It’s finally here: my first custom career, the Fashion Career!

This game play mod includes:

The ability to join a new career in game: Fashion Career

The ability to later branch off to one of three branches: Model, Fashion Journalist or Designer.

Tons of custom interactions

Custom whim to join the Fashion Career if your Sims have skills in painting or charisma

Tons of custom moodlets

Custom career tones (actions) which your Sims can do while at work

Custom “chance cards” which will give your Sims a positive or negative work boost depending on your answer!

Models can practice modelling in the mirror

Models who have a higher career level can “walk the runway” while at work and can receive a variety of moodlets depending on their skill level!

Models can offer fashion advice, or brag about being a model!

Models earn a special trait at the top of their career which enhances their friendships and relationships.

Designer Sims can create custom fashion designs on the easel- as their painting skill increases, their designs get better (over 30 custom painting designs).

Designers can also sell their work for profit, and will receive a notification each time, telling whether or not their work was chosen by a top fashion label

Designers receive a trait at the top of their career which allows them to sell their own fashions at a much higher profit

Journalists can interview other Sims about their outfits, then write positive or negative articles about them (be careful- your Sims friends might not like a negative article written about them ;))

At the top of the journalism career, Sims can write their own fashion magazine (just like publishing a book on the computer).  The magazine can then be read, sold, or published for other Sims to enjoy!

The mod is base game compatible.  It should be compatible with all other mods, including custom careers. The paintings will not conflict or override any paintings in the game, including mods which replace base game paintings.  The mod does not override anything in your game at all :)   It IS a script mod, so make sure your script mods are enabled and that your game is up to date before playing.  This is not an “active” Get to Work career- so your Sims will not get the option to go to work- instead, this is a “traditional” career, styled like the base game careers. This mod has been tested extensively but please do send me a private message here on Tumblr if you run across any issues, glitches, typos, etc. It’s such a big mod, so there could be something I’ve missed :)

I know that I've been absent for quite some time and I apologize for it. When I decided to relaunch my Sims website I was fully committed to my storylines and to creating content that the community could enjoy. I am still fully committed to it, but I have some demons that I face. Some days are good, some days are bad. Some days turn into weeks and weeks into months and I find that I'm spiraling down the rabbit hole, trying desperately to find up from down and left from right. It's not anything I can control, I wish I could, but it is something that I manage most days, most weeks, and even months, but sometimes I just can't manage at all. I have recently come to terms with the fact that I suffer from depression and anxiety. I spent most, well, really all of my life, assuming that I was just introverted (well, I am) and people after some time got so draining, I had to hide away for a bit until I recharged. All of this is absolutely true, even if you don't throw in my depression and anxiety, but I discovered that after spending so many years being high functioning, meaning I could go to work, complete tasks that are necessary to survive, I finally, nearly had a full mental breakdown. I ended up taking time off from work and seeking treatment and found after several weeks on antidepressants, I felt more like myself and the dark thoughts that shrouded me for months on end were finally silenced. The thing with antidepressants though, is they're meant to help, not fix, so while for the most part, I manage okay, I still have the bad days, weeks, and months, and recently I've been having a few bad weeks where I cannot even fathom getting out of bed, let alone finding enjoyment in the games I play and the storylines I've created. Now normally, this is not something I would disclose. I'm a pretty private person but in the interest of Mental Health Awareness month and also for anyone who's feeling similarly or has felt similarly to me, please know you're not alone. There are millions of people walking a similar path, some of us just choose to be more vocal about it, and my hope is, that by being vocal, I might be able to help someone who truly needs it. I don't think I'd be where I am not if someone had not done the same for me. With that said, once I'm feeling more like myself again, you can expect an update. Whether or not they'll be consistent is not something I can promise, I wish I could. Once upon a time, I would have, despite my mental health, but now I am finding the voice and strength to put my health first, if not for my sake, then for my the sake of my children.

***To those who took the time to read and understand, I truly appreciate it. It is your kindness and caring that helps me know that I have nothing to be ashamed about. I still battle the stigma and feel quite vulnerable and weak when I'm like this, so it really does mean the world that you took the time to read, care, and understand. Thank you.

♡ 100 followers gift ~ part 1 ♡

so i hit 100 followers a couple weeks ago and decided i wanted to make a lil something for you guys to say thank you. i never even imagined that when i first made my blog back in may that i would reach 100 followers, let alone so quickly.

So without further ado, i present The Shift. it’s a 3 bedroom, 2½ bathroom family home. some of you might remember me posting a wip picture of this a while back. it was going to be a house for Atlas and Alex but i ended doing something else for them. but i decided to finish it for you guys. there are a few disclaimers:

i’ve included links to both a furnished and an unfurnished version, as well as a version with everything furnished except the bedrooms, so you can decorate them to your sims preferences

as you can see, this place is chock full of cc, and theres actually no way i could’ve linked it all, i would’ve literally ended up pulling my own hair out. if you don’t want all the cc then i suggest using sims3pack multi exracter to seperate it out, i’ll leave a link here if you don’t have it already and there are plently of tutorials online on how to use it, i’ll leave one here

you will also need OMSP for things to look right, i’ll leave a link to that here if you don’t already have it

BRIGHTPOINT ISLAND - by IAMSIMMING

Finally!

This is an empty world, meaning you will have to place all the lots yourself (though I do hope to eventually release some lots for download specifically for this world).

Brightpoint is really small, I made it to accommodate my own playing needs, though I did add a few things here and there at the suggestion of my testers (a big thanks to those of you who tested for me). If you want a world with dive spots, and lots of areas to explore, this world is not for you. Most of the lots are really small, but there are some bigger ones, and only one 64 X 64 lot for legacy players.

All EP’s up to Island Paradise were installed, but you should only need Ambitions, Pets, Supernatural, UL, and IP to make it work. Oh, and it is also CC FREE aside from two or three textures I loaded into CAW.

I would LOVE to see what you do with it, so please tag either iamsimming or Brightpoint/Brightpoint Island when posting screens!

If there are problems, I don’t know that I will be able to fix it quickly, as most of you know I am unwell at the moment, so all TI will have to be addressed by my fiance, and he has to be prodded with sticks in order to get things done, so, it might not happen swiftly.

NOTE: In the overhead view there are buildings, but there aren’t in the actual world file, it is completely empty sorry.

CAW FILES You can use the files however you wish, as long as you don’t offer it up for download without consulting me first. I worked really hard on it.

That being said, the files themselves are a mess, so good luck with that. Organization is not my strong suit.

A New World for the Sims 3: OAKSOAK HOLLOW

Private and hidden town between mountains and rivers, Oaksoak Hollow is a paradise for those who wish to be forgotten from the busy capital and big cities.

It all started on the fact that Hidden Springs was supposed to be a haven. What kind of peaceful place would have so many pools? Which hidden place would have modern roads? How could a town be fuel only of spas and be active all year long? No, all those needed to change.

Of course, we started by re-texturing the grass, then changed that tarmac, added a modified sidewalk (from Midnight Hollow if you wondered), grow more pines. Actually, grow complete and full forests.

Oaksoak Hollow is a nice place to live in if you like wooden cabins of good taste, gardening and fishing. Now with 30 community lots and plenty of residential lots, all scattered around the map … and the trees ;)

It seems like a lot of Sims want to be forgotten as Oaksoak Hollow is bursting with life. Complete accommodations, plenty of houses to move in, shops all over the place. Oaksoak Hollow even has it’s own university campus! The only pool remaining is at the Solarium.

The town is well balanced between families and bachelors, far from the countryside and the omni-technological presence of the big cities. Supernatural is blending in the landscape, hinting but not giving it away too easily ;) With all this nature, don’t think wildlife is not all over the place. Just like indoor activities are equally important than outdoors one, culture and sports.

We only kept the Solarium, the Cemetery, 3 small parks and the Museum from Hidden Springs

All lots are made by us and lots creators. Of course, a list of all cc will be posted

Follower’s Gift: New Fork Cabin

Size: 35x25, 3bd, 2bth.  Unfurnished.  CC included. (Sims not included – they were used to test the lot)

I have all expansions/stuff packs EXCEPT FOR Katy Perry and Master Suite Stuff.  My game is fully patched.  I have used some store plants from the Aurora Skies set.

*Please note that the rafters used in this house are columns, which affects where your sims are allowed to walk and where you’re allowed to place furniture.  I have tested the lot and sims are able to navigate the front/rear doors and walk across the deck but you may still end up preferring to take some of them down.

Follower’s Gift: Off the Grid Cabin III - Storage Containers

I love the tiny home trend of using storage containers and decided to build one for my game.  Both a furnished and an unfurnished version is included – place one or both package files into your “Library” folder.  There is no CC and only one store item - the tri-pane window from the Lucky Palms set.  With no CC, the furnished version is a little plain, but I think it still turned out rather nice.

Christmas Market

Getting into the mood, I decided to create a little Christmas Market for our Simmies:) Around the ice rink you will find 6 small, decorated huts with registers from WA + Supernatural and a Santa reading nook. The lot is tagged as market.
