So beautiful!😊
i heard about a girl who disappears, sometimes for hours and days and weeks nobody will know about her for a while i heard about a girl who wanted to shine so bright she became a shooting star and i bet you’ve never seen a comet shining unceasingly they always vanish after lighting up the sky
i saw a girl in colors so bright i could only glimpse before burning up and i saw her closet full of black grim gloomy dark dark dark the past and i saw in her mind it was night yet she dressed like a day “i want to be the morning” she explained not believing me to understand resigned as if millions of people didn’t marvel at the sunrise already
(new beginnings)
i know a girl who sits on a bench in the playground i see from my balcony she sits and sits and sits in the sun soaking up the light in the cold in the fog radiating it draws and writes and watches waiting but nothing ever happens i asked her, once “nothing matters” she said “so why bother trying to find the meaning?” i know a girl sad and happy at the same time afraid i won’t understand and i don’t but i see the quiet admire the wild and i would stay up all night lay under the stars with her in the quiet to watch the sunrise from the swings we’d be swaying on to let her live in the wild until the quiet comes again
because i see

There is an evil in our blood and it grows and grows;
when ties of blood are less important than greedy connections,
when empathy and understanding are absent,
in a talk,
in a home
When people in this house should take care of each other
but all we talk about is more and more...
Is what remains
Worth to call family?

He who photographed the butterflies
There was nothing harsh about him, from his demeanour, to the lines on his face. Nothing dark inside him, beside the melancholy that hit him in the deepest of nights when all the butterflies were sleeping.
He had discovered the world through the lens in his hand, captured the beauty around him, knowing that none of it was built to last.
The art of quiet he had mastered from observing that silent stroke of wing, the fragile fabric that would be fit for a queen.
Dark-rimmed eyes always searching for the tiniest of details that vanished alongside the fading daylight.
It was only when he met her that he knew. Even in the deepest of nights there would be fireflies lighting the way.

The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini “…even the smallest of the starlings’ concerns grew in importance until it seemed equal to the worries of kings.”

Why should you read the Inheritance Cycle?
Well, first and foremost, most of the series can simply be described as a long line of strong women telling the protagonist he’s wrong.

I’m just thinking about the incredible amount of weirdness that happens in the Eragon series like I am impressed, ft. the Elves are McFreaking Weird:
one time Eragon fights giant radioactive snails on an island in the middle of the ocean
the Elves actually have a festival/ritual/thing that is basically just to magically cause a giant orgy in their magical woods to make sure all of the animals in the woods find a mate and it’s just a thing
there’s a story about an Elf who murdered her ex and then just fused herself with a tree and it turns out to be a major plotpoint
Angela the herbalist who is a witch and who has a sword that cuts anything but it’s sheath and who once we meet irritably trying to prove that toads are actually just frogs because then toads can’t be used to curse people, which has some interesting magical implications because we never seen any evidence that toads have ever been used to curse people
that one time Arya and Eragon are having one of their sitting-by-the-fire-talking-about-philosophy-while-on-the-run chats and Arya makes a boat out of grass and writes what I’m pretty sure is a poem about Doctor Who
Islanzadi has this raven that Arya’s dad gifted with long life and the ability to speak fully and coherently, and for some reason the side-effects were that it turned white and now just sometimes utters ominous prophecies because sometimes it be that way
one time when Eragon has to magically facetime Islanzadi she’s busy because they’re on the battlefield and she was sitting for a sculpture in between battles it has been brought to my attention that she wasn’t actually SITTING for the sculpture then… Eragon just has a really good memory for statuary, apparently, and was remembering a specific sculpture she’d sat for in Ellesmera (clearly HIS memory is better than mine)
there’s a few Elves that are just. Literally. Furries.
Arya is actually kind of the Rebellious Teenage Daughter in the series like she’s pretty young by Elf standards and took off to join the resistance and not talk to her mom
sometimes people just don’t know things, which is actually nice. Like they encounter these magical glowing creatures that Arya’s just like * shrug * they’re spirits we don’t know much about them besides “don’t screw with them”

This was my rendition of Saphira based on the version of her from the book Eragon. Also the drawing I tagged Christopher in.
