A good song to listen to while reading would be GRANRODEO's Tsuki ni Dakarete Nemuritai, because Chuuya's voice actor singing jazz is honestly a blessing for your ears.

The author did a lovely job creating the perfect chaos of a fake dating relationship while keeping true to their personalities. This is a must-read story! Notes: What I like best about this fic is the way the author writes their characters so well, and plays on the diffrences between them. Chuuya genuinely cares for their men and is furious about Dazai not trying to save them. He is understandably angry at Dazai, but at the same time there is a level of attraction there despite how Chuuya feels about it. And then there's Dazai, who although he won't admit it out loud knows he'd never risk Chuuya, which is why he sacrificed the others in the first place. The subtle things Dazai does throughout that shows he cares despite his general coldness towards everything feels very real. I really enjoyed the whole dynamic they had here, and I think the relationship they had in the mafia could have looked something like this. Notes: This fic does a great job of setting the tone and building suspense. The author's distinct writing style really pulls you into the story and into Chuuya's headspace following the nightmare. They pay attention to all the senses, specifically touch and sound. They also do a good job of consistancy with small details, like a broken glass or spilled water, that come up repeatedly. The whole concept of Chuuya slipping out of control was handled really well, and I enjoyed how his fear of corruption was mirrored in his fear of the darkness. The dynamic between Dazai and Chuuya was perfect, with tender moments laced with uneasiness. This really was an excellent fic, thank you to the-shadow-lover for recommending this story to the library!
