I know it’s highly likely someone will die in the finale of The Bad Batch but wouldn’t it be nice if they won?

We know they don’t defeat the Empire but winning to them could just mean staying together. The clones as a people have been put through so much and have all but been erased from the galaxy’s history. There is barely anyone alive to remember them. Their entire collective existence has been interwoven with tragedy from the moment Jango Fett allowed his DNA to be used. You don’t need to kill anyone for their stories to be tragic. For as long as they all live, they will never get to experience true freedom that doesn’t involve hiding.

I know Rex is clearly traumatised in Rebels and Echo isn’t with him so people are making the assumption Echo won’t survive. And I know people are placing bets on which other member of the batch won’t make it, but what if it just didn’t happen?

I’d just like the clones to have one small win because they’ve never had one. Let the remaining members of the batch live. Let Echo come back to them. Let Hunter live to see his little girl grow up. Let Crosshair actually get better. Let this tiny percentage of a race of people who are being wiped out spend a few more days in the sun. It would be a nice subversion of our expectations.

Things Happen For A Reason

Some wild speculations thoughts about the shrine on Pabu, Echo, the finale and a potential sequel.

On this show things happen for a reason.

When Omega placed Lula and Tech‘s goggles on the shrine on Pabu it was crystal clear to me that the Marauder would blow up soon and the producers let her do that to preserve these items.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see these items again in the finale. Maybe in a melancholic shot at the end with Omega placing items of her other brothers next to them and yes…ouch.

The fact that Lula is already there could either be foreshadowing that Wrecker won’t make it or - to give it more symbolic value when she puts the items down instead of Lula already being there - Wrecker will be the only one who makes it and she puts Crosshair‘s sniper rifle and Hunter‘s bandana there with Wrecker by her side. TBH that’s what I think of as the more likely version.

And Echo…

He left his armor and his headpiece on the research vessel - I don’t think he‘ll get any of it back.

There, I said it.

I don’t want him to change but I don’t think it’s likely that he’ll retrieve his belongings, he‘ll have other things to worry about unless the research vessel will be what they will use to flee from Tantiss. But I think they will flee with Rex, Howzer and Gregor on the Remora. They will show up deus-ex-machina style in the very last minute when everything seems to be lost. Maybe even Wolffe and Cody will be with them and Rex will say „look who showed up at our doorstep and just joined us“ to give us the tick in the box we‘ve been waiting for. You wanted more background about how they joined Rex? Think about how they did it with Gregor. He was rescued and dropped off at Cid’s, next thing you know he’s on the Remora with Echo and a part of the network.

I think seeing Echo pulling a cybernetic hand off of his scomp will be something we‘ll have to get used to in the Clone Rebellion Sequel that I‘m convinced is going to happen. But next time it’ll be fully functional (I will hate it, not only because I’m a certified scomp lover™️ but also because it will look like he needed a fix for something that never needed one but I don’t run this show, it’s not my decision to make). The hand will probably be part of Echo’s new look together with ears (maybe people will start being normal about them after some time) and a new armor. I hope he’ll get his kama back, he worked his ass off to earn the right to wear one as an ARC trooper, besides it looks damn good on him.

Why I am so sure about the sequel? I think it might be the reason why The Bad Batch was so short. Maybe they felt that they can tell a better story when the show doesn’t feature just a few clones but a topic - like The Clone Wars. It will give them less limitations in the storyline and people have been craving more - especially more Rex, Wolffe and Howzer. They would be karking stupid not to take that chance. But they may prove me wrong soon 😅

something something tantiss has done irreparable damage to crosshair’s psyche and/or body and he will probably live in pain because of it for the rest of his life and he has every single reason in the galaxy to not go back there, but his love and care for omega and the goodness that he’s capable of, that tantiss could never fully strip away, goes way beyond what they did to him and is instead his motivator to get his beloved sister back out and blow that wretched facility to high heaven

alright girlies let’s make a bulleted list for next week of things that’ll most likely happen

• Rampart sells the Batch out (hydrosnake)

• Emerie gets Echo in the vault and they start to get the kids out??? Or Omega gets them all out before they get there??? Either way - will most likely run into a fat problem somewhere down the line

• Rex and co cameo?? Cavalry title idk someone’s probably coming in clutch

• Hemlock dies by Zillo beast?? or maybe by Hunter’s knife :)

• Emerie and Nala Se both die

• Batch member dies for sure (i don’t want to talk about it)

• Project necromancer goes ka-boom perhaps??? it’s gotta be put on hold for a while so I’m holding out hope for that

• did I mention a fan favorite protagonist love of someone’s life will probably meet their demise in exactly seven days

• Dr scalding dies i hate her

• the kids get out SAFELY and Bayrn is brought back to his FAMILY because he’s a TODDLER and the rest of the kids are reunited with their families (assuming they still have them) and are moved to a safe location out of the Empire’s sight :)

• A happy ending that’s not sad at all and definitely won’t put me into a denial induced coma for six months :)

Omega talked about them. Of course she would’ve, we know this. That’s her family. They’re her brothers whom she loves more than anything - of course she’s going to find any reason to talk about them, especially when it comes to rescuing her

But imagine what she told Emerie about when it came to them. How different they all look physically: Wrecker’s size and strength, Echo’s hand, Hunter’s hair, who knows what. Maybe she told her all about their different tattoos. Or maybe the timbre in all of their voices and how different they all sound

Maybe she talked about all of their different skills. Tech’s knowledge. Hunter’s tracking. Crosshair’s sniping. How they all fit together like puzzle pieces when all of their skills are brought together

Who knows what Emerie remembers from all of her conversations with Omega. Maybe she remembers a certain joke that Omega recounted to her. Maybe she knows Hunter’s voice is slightly deeper. Maybe she knows that Tech wore glasses

But that face that she knew Echo. She saw him put the hand back on. Heard his voice - the voice of a reg - and knew. There wasn’t a chance of it being anyone else. And it’s all because Omega never stopped talking about them

Even though Echo was with Rex for a long time. Even though Omega wasn’t seeing or hearing from his as often. She still spoke of him with the utmost love and adoration because that’s her brother
