Summary:

I have a question. In original book series The Maze Runner, does Thomas really got sent into the Maze because of Newt? And, does he remember Newt or Newt him since before the Maze?

I haven't read the whole series just yet but I've stumbled across such scenarios in various fics so I'm really, really curious.

Hey friend! This is a really old ask, but yes, Newt is at the very least a big part of it. The two big factors of Thomas going in, or planning to send himself in the prequel novel are Newt's injury/self-harm and Chuck being sent into the maze. From memory (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong), Newt's injury is the time when he decides he has to do something about it and starts making plans, but when Chuck gets sent in, it's the final straw and makes him leap into action quicker. His plan is for he and Teresa to go in but keep their memories, but Teresa betrays him and his memories are taken, while hers aren't. :)

I really enjoy your work on ao3, your style of writing is amazing and I was curious if you are planning to continue writing A Ballad of Guilt and Grief, I don't mean this in a way to rush you or to sound like someone demanding an update, rather I am just curious if you have any plans of completing it. And I completely understand that writing takes a lot of time, energy and planning and I truly respect people who do it and also post it for others (I have been writing so I am somewhat familiar with the trials and tribulations of making a work TvT ).

So I just want to ask if you have any future plans for it and if you are going to continue it in the coming months or whenever you plan to do it. I have really enjoyed this fic and would love to see it get completed because I love the way you write all of them and the new characters and situations you made.

I understand if you have lost interest in an older fic because new interests and characters come along that naturally become more interesting ideas for new works and fixations. I would really love to see you continue it but I truly do get it if you just don't have interest in continuing the fic.

I hope this didn't come off as rude or something like that because I am not really good with sending messages, and with whatever you plan to do next I hope you will enjoy making it as much as I will reading it.

Can't wait to see whatever new fic you create and I hope you have a great day/night!

Hi love - this definitely did not come across as rude, and thank you for being so kind and thoughtful about how you asked the question! I have absolutely not dropped the fic, there's three I still have incomplete and I have every intention of finishing all three. Life's been a bit tough of late and it's taken a backseat, but I've just posted a new (thiam) fic and have decided I really miss it! But knowing there are still people interested helps a ton, because I do worry people won't read it anymore since I've taken so long!
