Heyo Gordo enthusiast here.

Nope it is never mentioned anywhere in TAG or in official character bios that Gordon ever competed in the Olympics. It's definitely just a TOS thing that we've automatically accepted as TAG fanon, we've got a lot of those like the hydrofoil accident, Scott being in the military, Virgil being a medic (which is an odd one because I think it was only hinted in TOS and was also hinted very later on in TAG too)

The TAG Tracys don't have anywhere near as much info on their hobbies or personalities or their pasts so I think collectively we've all just kinda picked through the information we got from TOS and applied what makes sense to TAG. TAG has also carried over some stuff from TOS like Gordon's 100m butterfly record so I think a lot of TOS characters' backgrounds could still apply to TAG characters even if it's not mentioned in canon.

Did Gordon Tracy from TAG win an Olympic gold medal for swimming?

For some reason my brain thinks so? However, I can't find evidence of it anywhere. No one else seems to ever mention it and it's not on the thunderbirds wiki. Unfortunately I don't have the time to rewatch every episode to find out if it's mentioned.

Did I just make this up in my head???

If someone remembers this and knows what episode it's from please let me know. It would be much appreciated, thanks. :D

🖤: Which character is not as morally good as everyone else seems to think?

It's kinda hard to say because I don't think any of our heroes are morally bad but I do think there's a couple of characters that can be iffy.

I think Scott can let his emotions rule over his moral compass, Recharge showed us a side to Scott where he gets carried away, pushing everyone and everything to the limit to try to live up to the vision he has of his dad. Also in Brains vs Brawn I think Scott would have been more than ready to let the Hood die if it weren't for Grandma reminding him that their job requires them to save people no matter what they've done.

Ok disclaimer: I love Lady Penelope but I hate the way she's treated Gordon. Through out the series she's played hard to get and kinda uninterested in Gordon's quite obvious crush but as soon as he's injured or in serious danger, suddenly she loves him. It's different from just telling him that she doesn't feel the same, obvs (as an aroace myself) you're not obligated to date someone just to make them happy if you really aren't interested. It's literally my one gripe about her and it just idk frustrates me, if she truly returned his feelings wouldn't she have just admitted to him instead of ignoring him until he's really hurt?? It kinda makes me question her moral compass.

This along with other things is why I don't really ship them, also I'm loyal to the shadowrose ship at this point too lol.

Glad I could finally get this idea done (it's been in my head for 2 years now how awful), thought I should actually do sommat for GA day (mainly cause I've been so focused on other stuff it's nice to go back to it) but also not to be a sop but without GA and the shows created I would not have many friends at all, I've met so many people via these shows (mainly tbirds obvs) and I'm so glad for it! I think a lot of them are mischaracterised in fandom, there's a lot of fanon stuff I just disagree with.

I think the most though is probably Jeff. The fandom seems split over what kind of father he is, either down right neglectful and absent leaving Scott to pick up the pieces or this amazing, involved with everything, knows his boys like the back of his hand kinda dad.

Jeff barely has 20 mins of screen time in TAG so it's difficult to get an idea of who he really is but going off of TOS, I think he's a reasonably stern but fair military dad who wants to be involved with his kids' lives more but his job (and also being missing for like 8 years) has prevented him from doing it. He has a kinda "hands off" parenting style, through out their childhoods, he's always known his boys were responsible enough to deal with themselves mostly and grandma was around all the time to cook and keep an eye out for them, but his kids could always poke their heads around his office door when they need help. They love him and he loves them dearly but he's not really lovey dovey or affectionate beyond a brief dad hug and a pat on the back. Typical 1960's kinda parenting.

Probably birds that would be native or migrate to surrounding areas like Australia and New Zealand and the islands around where Tracy Island is roughly located.

I don't know much about wildlife in the southern hemisphere but maybe there's some Aus or New Zealander thunderfam that can weigh in on this?

When you're posting a work on AO3, one of the options you have is to add relationship tags to your work. Sometimes you'll see tags that look almost exactly the same and you might wonder what the difference is.

A/B indicates that person A and person B have a romantic or sexual relationship in this fic.

A&B indicates that person A and person B have a non-romantic and non-sexual relationship in this fic - they are friends, colleagues, family members etc. who have a platonic relationship.

If you want to add more specific information about what kind of relationship the characters have in your story, you can use the additional tags or the summary to let readers know more about what they're in for.

Editing to add: Oh yes! And it doesn't matter which character you list first in your tag. They both filter the same way in the site's database.
