Hello everyone!

We are so glad to see that so many of you are getting excited for the Jegulus Big Bang! 

It is now one week until Sign-Ups officially open up so we thought we’d share a little reminder of all of the important information about the fest in preparation for that!

As mentioned above Sign-Ups officially open on May 1st. You will be able to sign up as either an author, artist or beta reader!

The mod team has been working hard behind the scenes to prepare all of the sign-up forms, which will be available through Google Forms. For this you will need an email-address and we would recommend that you don’t use a personal one/one with personal information. The email-address will also be used for any future information that we might be sending out via email (like the link to our Discord server!). 

Speaking of Discord! We have worked hard on creating a space for everyone involved in the Jegulus Big Bang to have somewhere to talk, exchange ideas, hype each other up, do sprints with fellow creators etc. and we are so excited to be sharing it with you in the near future (spoiler alert: it’s pretty cool, if we do say so ourselves!)! 

As always we remind you that while joining the server is mandatory for signing up for the Big Bang, there is no pressure to be active within the server. 

Having all fest participants in one place will allow the mod team to make any important announcements and will make it easier for any queries to come straight to us. This will also allow for a clear line of communication between writers, betas and artists to collaborate once the pairings have been announced.

There’s nothing quite like a Big Bang to inspire you and we hope that all of the wonderful ideas floating around in your heads will be enough to convince you to join the fest and sign up next week because we cannot wait to see what you’ve come up with!

What is the marauders sports fest?

A fest to celebrate sports aus and the upcoming Olympic Games! They can come in all shapes and sizes, and we are excited to see the amazing works created for this. All sports aus, whether in canon or not, are welcome!

When is it?

Sign-ups: April 27 - August 3

Prompting: May 4 - June 1

Claiming: June 8 - August 10

Fics Due: August 17

Posting Starts: August 24

The sign-up, prompting, and claiming forms will all close at midnight EST. The fics are due by midnight in your own time zone. Obviously, we will not be tracking everyone's time zones, we just ask that they are posted and ready for us by August 18 so we can start planning the posting period! If you need an extension, just message us and we will figure it out.

Where is it?

Here and on ao3! All information and updates will be given on here, and all of the works will be posted on ao3 to the collection.

Communication and updates for the fest will happen on this blog.

Once the fics are revealed, please tag this blog in any posts you make about your fic and we will make sure to reblog it after the reveals!

*Please note the recent change in rules involving anonymity. This fest will not be anonymous, so please feel free to post about the progress of your work as much as you want.

MOD ANNOUNCEMENT (RE: SIGN UPS AND DISCORD SERVER)

It marks a week since we announced the big bang! Are you all getting excited and thinking of ideas? I know we are! Our mod team has been working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready for sign ups opening on May 1st.

Once sign ups open, you’ll receive a welcome email within 24-48 hours (we recommend using an email that you check regularly, however, try to avoid one with any personal information in it). This will include the link to our discord server!

The discord server will be a place for writers, betas and artists to start getting excited for the fest as well as writer/beta specific channels to start brainstorming ideas!

While joining the server is mandatory for signing up for the Big Bang, there is no pressure to be active within the server. Having all fest participants in one place will allow the mod team to make any important announcements and will make it easier for any queries to come straight to us. This will also allow for a clear line of communication between writers, betas and artists to collaborate once the pairings have been announced.

okay but james gets his wings violently torn off his body by the "death eater" equivalent of whatever world this is in and so when regulus walks into the meeting room and he sees the wings there, the ones he's memorized every dip and tremor in, he knows they're james' and he's met with overwhelming grief because the wings are a trophy that's the only way they would have them, james is gone

and then he's not actually gone but imagine how cruel it would be for regulus to know he was apart of the reason that took james' wings from him and the reason for the scars that plague his back and the pains that last him his entire lifetime because it's not only phantom pains that keep james up it's the realization that he's irrevocably different forever and always now and he'll never be the same again

james' wings pinned up on the wall like a perverse version of insect pinning. they're still caked with his blood, the feathers matted and patches where they're missing. the torn flesh at the base of them. regulus being so overcome with guilt that he just disappears from james' life without a trace, he isn't even 100% sure james is still out there but he can't handle the confirmation that james has been left to suffer without his wings. james having phantom limb syndrome with his wings. everyday he wakes up wondering where regulus went, if he's truly gona forever. both stuck in a limbo of only knowing half-truths about the other and having no way to learn everything....

who do you think would be the most likely to live a fanfic coffee shop romance??????? honestly the more i think about it the more i see a snobby wine connoisseur regulus in a fancy restaurant and cheerful sommelier james which is not coffee shop au buttttttttt

jegulus is often so endearing to me because they're two characters for whom the cheesy fanfiction romance tropes always make SENSE... james & regulus have an identical commute and are always picking up from the same hole-in-the-wall hipster coffee shop at the same time. regulus is the grumpy snobby fuck in pleated trousers who's always like "large dark roast. black." and refuses to call it "venti" or whatever. james is the guy before him in line who thinks it's amusing to come up with increasingly stupid and convoluted orders (remus is the barista & his roommate & just gives him a psl regardless) just because he likes to see regulus look more & more aghast each day.....
