it never gets easier — nanna on sociability;
"It feels a bit strange to suddenly be surrounded by so many people... I should be happy about it, shouldn't I?" — Nanna (Nordion Princess)
Now, that's an odd thing to say when your game ending, base skill (Charisma), and every subsequent descriptor of you subscribes to:
Lachesis's daughter. A charismatic young lady, she has her mother's graceful bearing. Appears in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. — (Nanna: Nordion Princess) Daughter of Lachesis, the princess of Nordion. Known for her grace, charm, and kindness. Appears in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. — (Nanna: Beloved Princess)
Which substantiates that while Nanna is capable of inspiring devotion and compelling those around her with emotionally-intelligent leadership skills, in reality, she struggles to adapt around new places with plenty of strangers. It's a nice dichotomy, I think, that she personally brings it upon herself to put her best foot forward despite feeling at odds, socially. I've always considered the talks from FEH, especially between Kiran and Nanna, to be more character detailing rather than something she'd ever profess to publicly, so it's like a nicely kept secret between her and the audience playing. So, in the same way, this is a secret she won't ever divulge to anyone but you! (points through the screen 💖—)
I find it refreshing that she actually has private reservations in new places around new people, since her publicized character is built on connection and natural grace. And to top it all off, she's got a breadth of experience when it comes to being dropped into a new crowd, given that she and Leif converged with Seliph's Salvation Army after essentially losing a majority of their own army in an attempt to liberate Ulster. I can't imagine it being painless, but in her own way, Nanna makes it look easy. Girl has the tendency to put her all into getting to know people and subsequently holding those people close, even if she feels frankly out of place doing it.
I indulge in the idea that Nanna couldn't help but feel othered in these situations. On top of the Salvation Army or even being summoned into FEH, she also had to move countless times (Ulster Capital, Hrest, Tahra and ultimately Fiana), so that probably magnified the feeling of being out of place. And yet she pulls away from this natural wariness because she always has been the type to overcome her base self. There's something inside her that demands mastery and self improvement, and yearns deeply for bonds despite herself. She wants fellowship, she wants commitment, she wants to swear by the growing amount of friends and family she's made. She wants to be more than herself, in order to belong. With her people and for her people.
I can only imagine she's still striving to better herself even now in the academy.
It's never easy, even if she makes it look that way, but to her, the friends she's made and the friends she has yet to come across are more than worthwhile.

Taking Stock of Units in Fire Emblem Heroes, Part 2
Next! Let’s take a look at the merged heroes I have and feel some sort of affinity for:
My 5*+10s:
Nowi (+Atk): She still puts in WORK. My first 5*+10 and she is an evergreen feature on any Grand Conquest teams, first runs of Lunatic maps, etc. She deserves a kit upgrade sometime soon, but somehow LB/Aether/SB/QR/Threaten Res/Distant Def still get the job done almost every time. Sothe (+Spd): Sothe is one of the first characters I ever really fell in love with from Radiant Dawn. He was an easy +10 decision. Again, I need to upgrade his kit soon, I have Broadleaf Dagger+ fodder....I just feel like I have to choose between him and Matthew, and I adore Matthew’s personality and I feel like I just need to bite the bullet and just raise both. Ross (+Spd): I literally yelped when he was released. Favorite character from the first game I actually beat (played FE7 first but beat it after beating SS). Every major decision in summoning since his release was clouded by “but I should still summon on Green for Ross merges.” But he’s done! This little dude runs so many builds and is also a main staple on teams. The Almosts (Most of these I actually have the resources to +10 but have been holding off because of a need to keep resources on hand to remain competitive):
Lyon, +7: My sweet boy. Major staple on most teams for a while before he just...couldn’t keep up. He needs a refine BADLY. Sophia literally takes him behind the woodshed and beats him within an inch of his life. We all know he likes it. He was the first person I sacked a Counter skill to. I love him and I want the best for him...but not until I know what his refine is.
Mordecai, +7 (+Atk): Another soft boy. Honestly, I merged him up because I had them available and got drunk while playing PoR. He functions very well at this merge level. I’ll get him up one day, but he really can’t be a focus right now, given he serves a very similar combat function to Nowi.
Shigure, +6 (+Atk): This is one of those scenarios where the voice actor really drew me to the character. Matt Mercer kills Shigure’s voice lines and also I got pitybroken by him a LOT. He’s got a pretty balanced stat-line, but performs better as a player phase duelist....except I want to eventually use Valter instead. That’s 99% the only reason I’ve held off, the other is having Harmonic Lance+ fodder just in case. I have the merges for Shigure, but I have a feeling this is as far as he goes.
Micaiah, +5 (+Atk): Best girl from RD (we all know this). Honestly, I haven’t ever sniped for merges on her, these are all organic, which is impressive. But she deserves the +10 and I think I would rank her pretty high in terms of trying to achieve that. Too bad I just missed several good opportunities to do so. This is why I should have done this a while ago.
Nino, +5 (+Spd): I have uncovered a not-so-secret trend. I have a major bias towards characters from Blazing Blade, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn and, to an extent, Awakening. These were the games I played growing up, so it makes sense that they stayed. ANYWAY. Nino, adorable and punches through everything. I find I don’t really have a ton of space for her on teams, though...she was easy to merge and offers no fodder. I have all the materials, but she’ll honestly have to wait, like Mordecai.
Now, I think I should list out every character with at least +1 merge, to sort through who should be a priority. So this will go in descending order:
Mia, +3 (+Res): One of the only speedy sword girls I actually give a shit about (unsurprisingly). I would love a +10 eventually. Masked Marth, +3: A product of a bygone age. I never spent any real fodder on her, so I’ll chalk this one up to *meh*. OG Eliwood, +3 (+Atk): I have all the resources to +10 him. He’s my favorite Lord. He’s incredible in combat. He has amazing Resplendent Art. Why the fuck have I not finished him. I’ve failed my boy. Forgive me Eliwood. He’s clearly a high level priority. What have I been doing. Astram, +2: He’s a strong unit and has a great niche but I just....don’t care about him. I built him for this week’s Arena needs. His cost is just way too high as a Grail unit. He’ll stay at +2 for now.    Joshua, +2: He was almost my first grail merge project and I...held off. Idk, his cost is so high. but I love his personality and he’s near the top of the grail pile that deserves a refine. I might wait until then?? Idk, I’m torn. I think he could put in good work if I took the time to kit him properly. I need to put more thought into him. Eldigan, +2 (+Def): Multiple pitybreakers that have been merged. Garbage. Next. Donnel, +2 (+Atk): Donnel’s another character I’ve always really liked, but held off, because my Blue Enemy Phase Infantry slot remains filled. His new refine gives him an interesting niche, but is he worth the resources? I have the merges and feathers, but I’m hesitant to pull the trigger. Hawkeye, +2 (+Def): Another random decision I made months and months ago for...no particular reason? He’s got a great refine, but there’s nothing he can do that Ross or Brave Ike can’t. Brave Ike, +2 (+Atk): Speaking of...amazing typing, amazing refine, I sacked my only Nailah to him in order to finally make it to T21 in AR. I have one more waiting in the wings, because I worry that I might need Steady Breath for someone in the future. But I think the ship has sailed on SB’s hey-day. An extra merge for survivability is likely better. Rath, +2 (+Spd): I love Rath so much. His personality, his art, all great. He got SHAFTED stat line wise but....we shall prevail. I have a +Atk waiting in the wings, but I think I’ll keep the +Spd. Speed is king and will remain king until something drastic changes in the meta. He could be +7 with the copies I have, so I’ll likely up his merges soon. Lissa, +2 (+Res): I love Lissa. She’s so cute and she was the first true defensive healer, and I LOVE healers...but she’s incredibly outclassed at this point. Resplendent Lissa when??? I don’t see this going forward without some kind of refine/Resplendent. Adult Tiki, +2 (+Atk): Tiki has the misfortune of just not appearing as fast as Nowi did in terms of merges. I don’t love all dragon teams, and Nowi has the better color. Plus her refine isn’t amazing. She’ll remain here for now. Y!Marth, +1 (+Atk): I am on the fence about whether I feel regret for not pulling more for Y!Marth. His weapon is so strong, he’s got great stats, and not great fodder. But I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I decided +1 was better than trying for the +10 and getting mad when I spent money on orbs. But he puts in work. I love him as a unit. OG Alm, +1 (+HP): Funnily enough, as an almost day-one player, I didn’t pull an OG Alm until halfway through his availability as a Limited-Time Divine Code option. He was a free pull on some random banner and obviously got a merge afterwards. I like his character, but I don’t know if I will ever make an effort to +10. Saber, +1 (+Atk): One of my absolute favorite units. One of the characters I had Summoner Supported for a period of time. His refine is very interesting and allows for some really interesting builds. I might need to make more of an effort for him in the future. Ayra, +1 (+HP): I’ll be honest, I don’t love Ayra. I don’t like the speed arms race she kicked off, and I’m bummed I didn’t just use her as Swift Sparrow fodder. Whatever. Black Knight, +1: Big surprise here: I love the Black Knight. I think he still holds up as a viable option for Red Armors. His cost remains high as a Grail unit, but I think it might be worth it, given how many armor skills exist now. Elincia, +1 (+Atk): The trend continues: character from PoR and RD that I love. She’s got amazing player phase capabilities, and eventually she’d be a great +10. Lukas, +1 (+Atk): The OG physical tank. Great personality and solid niche, but I have others who do the same thing. Nephenee, +1 (+Spd): The Halberdier class in PoR still ranks as one of my all time favorite character ranks. Nephenee languished as -Spd for a long time before I snagged another merge. I love her character and need to prioritize her builds. I’d love for her to demote one day (lol), but she’ll go on the list of 5* exclusive merge desires. OG Azura, +1 (Neutral): I feel like OG Azura is still outclassed, even with her Resplendent stats. Although she has a strong niche as a triple Chill support unit. I need to actually build her and deploy her before I sink any real assets into her. Legendary Ephraim, +1 (+Res): I pulled Legendary Ephraim long before I ever pulled OG Ephraim. He finds use mostly as a Grand Conquests lead. Which makes me realize that I don’t have a ton of lance cavaliers....or really any that I would really love to build. I’ll look into this. Altena, +1 (+Def): I adore Altena. She’s one of those characters that FEH really introduced me to and I fell in love with her personality, and she’s got a great kit. I’d love for her to be 3*/4*, but I find myself thinking I should pull for Blue on random banners, just in case I pull extras. She’s a high priority merge project. Halloween Dorcas, +1: Another case of a strange decision made without any real thought. Especially since Hack-o’-Lantern+ is a solid axe to have in a unit’s back pocket. I’m suddenly mad at myself for doing this. Minerva, +1 (+Atk): You know, Minerva was the third 5* I ever pulled in this game, and I never really found a use for her somehow. I suppose I avoided flying units for a long time, just because they were always physical, and usually less useful than infantry or cavalry units (what a time). She’s merged because of a pity breaker. Young Minerva, +1: Ironic, I know. Y!Minerva is near the top of my list for Grail projects. She’ll likely get a +10 eventually, it’s hard to top the skills she has available. And I’m weirdly a sucker for tiny children who destroy enemies. I love this unit. Legendary Alm, +1 (+Def): My first pull of L!Alm was -Spd, which was a major fucking bummer. I ultimately decided I needed to fix that when I pulled one a while back, it was a good decision. I am never going to have the resources to pump more into him, though. So his base kit will do for now. Matthew, +1 (+Atk): Let’s talk briefly about how fucking bad Matthew’s attack stat is. At lvl 41 with a 14 mt dagger equipped and attack boon he has 43 attack. Literal garbage. His refine makes him useable and I want to +10 him so badly because I love his character, but again, it clashes directly with the Sothe I already built, who only loses out on the defense that Matthew’s packing. It’s hard to justify, ngl. Kagero, +1 (+Atk): I am only human. Every once in a while, I am susceptible to the pull of a waifu or two. Cool refine, solid niche, but hard to justify when I have characters that do the work better. Julia, +1 (+Def): Another character I didn’t have for literal years, and got in back to back banners long after she had a hey-day. Crystalelemental on Tumblr loves Julia and, honestly, that love kinda rubbed off. She doesn’t even have skills equipped, but I’ve been on the lookout for a way to deploy her. She’ll get a good kit eventually. Legendary Female Fallen Robin, +1 (+Spd): Describing some of these characters becomes a mouthful. Solid niche, and she got a merge because she kept pitybreaking me on the road to Bramimond. The rest were sacked for Res Smoke fodder. She’s useful from time to time, but not a favorite. Lethe, +1 (+Def): I always liked Mordecai more than Lethe, but she hits a lot of criteria for me. Her typing holds her back a little bit, though. I also don’t run all beast teams very often, and that’s where she really shines. It also doesn’t help that her first appearance was as -Atk. Sometimes heroes with bad IVs that you love kinda lose their luster, which is sad. Kaden, +1 (Neutral): Both times a pitybreaker. Great niche as a unit, sees plenty of use when I’m running Bonus Doubler shenanigans. Doesn’t see a ton of use outside of that.
Phew. That was a lot to write. If you read through that....I am deeply impressed. I think next is taking stock of what I actually want in terms of unit niches, and which ones would fill those roles that I could target.

TGSA back at it again. I'm sure I'm gonna send A LOT of requests so don't feel bad about ignoring some for a bit if it's like a lot of the same person lol. Anyway, speaking of requests, this time FEH OC edition. How would Alfonse, Eir, and Bruno react to someone flirting with their S/O in front of them? Not like subtle flirting I mean like AGGRESSIVE flirting
Mmm.. Yes… Alfonse ask…. I like that. Also Bruno recognition! Yay! FEH needs more Bruno. I doubt we’re going to get much of him in Book lll though. Also I’m going to do headcannons for the bois and a drabble for Eir
Alfonse, Eir, and Bruno reacting to aggressive flirting with s/o
Alfonse
• Alfonse gets worried very easily. He cannot sit still if there’s any chance of you being in danger
• So when this dangerously audacious individual chooses to flirt with you right in front of him
• He goes into protecc mode
• He waits for you to tell them off first. He’s not your mom, and he knows you can defend yourself against some silly flirt. But he’s still in protecc mode, just in case.
• At this stage, he can be found glaring over whatever he’s holding
• Usually, at this point, the flirt is gone. A combination of rejection from you and intimidation factor from Alfonse often has them backing off.
• Not this time. No, this person won’t give you a break, and even goes so far as to trace their hand along your face. You swat the hand away like a spider. The person proceeds to grab your wrist.
• At this stage, Alfonse can be found with Fólkvangr drawn, pointed, and ready to s t a b
• Look. It may seem a bit much to pull a sword on someone while you’re shopping, but Alfonse isn’t very old. People who aren’t very old don’t make the wisest decisions.
• The person turns pale and trips backwards. “Holy fuck, ok ok! I’m leaving!”
• After they’ve run off, tail between their legs, you turn to Alfonse.
•“Alfonse. I love you. And I appreciate what you did greatly. But you can’t draw your sword in the middle of a store”
“But they grabbed you!”
“But nothing. There are probably kids around here somewhere. Just… Don’t do it again, alright?”
*sigh* He gives in. “Alright.”
Bruno
• Bruno is a surprisingly kind man. But if he wants to be intimidating… hoo boy.
• All you wanted to do was get some shopping done with your partner. Was that really so much to ask?
• Turning towards him, you hold up a coat and say “Hey, do you think I can pull this off?”
• He opens his mouth to respond, but before he has a chance, a voice cuts in from behind you.
“How about I pull it off for you?”
•You turned around. Bruno looked over your shoulder. Something twitched deep inside his chest. How dare someone say that to his partner.
• Someone had crept up on you, and was now leaning on the wall with a rose in their teeth.
“You’re my type. Ditch this loser and have some fun with me.”
• You told them off with a tight smile. They weren’t having it.
•They stalked forwards and leaned towards you. “I said, ‘you’re my type’. I’ve got some friends here with me. I have my ways of making you say yes, you know.”
• Bruno proceeds to wrap his arms over your chest, resting his head on your shoulder.
“Sorry, this one’s taken. Leave.”
“Oh? Did I ask you?” They said, looking down on the two of you, their tone insufferable. “Get lost, or I’ll call my- mmph!!?”
Bruno had detached himself from you and grabbed their jaw, thumb and forefinger digging into their cheeks.
“Did you say you had friends here with you? I’m sorry, but it seems your jaw won’t be in one piece by the time you call them over.”
He released the flirt, who was gawking and making pitiful noises. They backed up, sputtered, and ran.
Bruno turned to you. “Are you quite all right?”
“Heh, yeah. Thank you, really.” You let out the breath you didn’t realize you were holding. “So, about that coat…”
He laughed. “It looks good on you!”
Eir
You took your time to pore over the rows of market goods. You were in no hurry, as you wanted Eir to be able to find you when she returned.
“I just need to grab some apples, I’ll return soon. Wait for me!” She’d said, right before drifting away into the busy crowd. It was a wonder she didn’t get swept up in it.
It was as you were gazing over a particularly intricate sculpture when you felt a rough arm wrap around your waist, sending a jolt down your spine. You spun around and swatted the hand away.
“Excuse me!” You exclaimed at the one who touched you. Before you stood an unshaven, burly man with a disgusting grin on his face. Two of his teeth were missing.
“Aw, what’sa matter? Come on now, come home with me, I’ll show’ya a good time.” His grin widened. He stepped forwards. “Whad’ya say?”
You stepped back, your voice harsh. “No, kindly leave me alone. I already have someone.”
He continued his advance, sizing you up like a chunk of meat.  “I think you’d best stay quiet and come with me. If you’re good, I might even pay you…”
His eyes flicked up and focused behind you. “Oi. Get out of here. This don’t concern you.”
You looked behind you to see Eir standing behind you, bag of apples in hand. She did not look happy.
“Kindly remove your filthy hands from my partner.” Her voice rang out, clear, cold, and commanding. You shuddered. She never, ever used that voice with you. It was just like her mother’s.
The man threw back his head. “Grah ha ha ha! And what are you gonna do about it, huh girle?”
Suddenly, the air turned cold. Eir stepped forwards, past you, and grabbed the mans wrist. She leaned in and whispered something into his ear. His face turned white, his eyes widened. Eir leaned back and watched him, maintaining her firm hold on his wrist.
“Eir? What in the world did you…” You reached out to place your hand on her shoulder.
She turned her head. “I’m showing him his… Wait, no!”
Your hand connected with her skin. An onslaught of images masqueraded through your head. Dark alleyway, bathed in torchlight. Voices shouting. Surrounded. The man, the one who had grabbed you, was on the floor, begging and pleading for his life. But he was different somehow. Tangled hair, tattered clothes, lines etched roughly into his face. He was… Was he older?  Whispers began to fill your ears. They were saying… Numbers? Who’s voice is that? Your chest tightened. Dread slithered its way into you, taking hold of your thoughts.
You gasped, falling ungraciously onto your rear end. The market. A few curious people were beginning to gather. Eir still stood, her grip on the man remained. She was looking at you, worry etched in her face. The man was shaking. He had turned completely white. Eir released her grip and he fell to his knees, coughing for air.
“Wh- What was that?” You choked out.
“That man… Now knows the exact date and circumstances surrounding his death.” She said, helping you up. “He will not bother you again.”
“Oh, I- I see…”
“I’m sorry. Was it too much?” She brushed off your shoulders. “I simply wanted to make sure he couldn’t harm you.”
“No, I’m grateful, really! And besides, the way he was speaking,” You shuddered. “I suspect this isn’t the first time he’s done something awful to someone on their lonesome. He had it coming.” You took her hand. “We should leave, people are staring.”
“Mm. We should.” The two of you pushed your way past the whimpering man, through the gathering crowd. As terrifying as she could be, you somehow felt a lot safer having Eir near you.

Heroes After All Bonus Chapter 2: Fire Emblem Heroes After All
Surprise! You thought I was DONE with Fire Emblem crossovers after Rude Awakening?! Well think again! This fic is going in a whole new direction with more FE characters than Smash Bros, starting... Now!
Bonus Chapter 2: Fire Emblem Heroes After All
Polly was resting on a bench outside the monastarey. It was a peaceful day - the sun was shining, Butterfree were flying about, there was a soft breeze blowin-
A noise. A specific noise Polly didn't recognise. She saw Metagross trudging toward her.
~Polly! Soldiers. They're approaching a village to the south.~
"What? We should evacuate the citizens right awa-"
~There's something else.~
"What?"
~They came out of a portal.~
------------
A young girl in elaborate royal attire looked out over the landscape, curious.
She was pretty sure she had set her sights on the World Of Blazing. Her troops were ready to conquer and make contracts. But something seemed... off.
It wasn't until she noticed a very strange brown and gray bird perch nearby that she realized how off.
She tapped a soldier on the shoulder. "Do you know what bird that is?"
The soldier looked over. "Er, no, your highness."
"Doesn't look like anything native to the World Of Blazing."
The bird gave a chirp and a "star, staravia."
"...We seem to be far from our intended destination," said the soldier.
"...Keep going," said the girl. "Perhaps we can find something useful here."
She ordered the troops onward.
----------
Aaron was idly scratching doodles in the dirt with a stick when he noticed the older Aura Guardians scrambling around in a panic. For a second he considered heading inside, where he'd be safe.
But then he thought a bit. If he couldn't really help with the dead and missing Aura Guardians back then, he could stand to benefit from helping now...
He quietly placed his stick down and started following the senior Aura Guardians.
----------
The purple creature noticed a rush in activity in its new home. Curious, they quietly hovered over the hurried bipeds and their companions, evading notice.
Then they saw a strange, pink creature hovering nearby.
~Heh... They're really in a hurry! Looks like fun.~
The purple creature eyed the pink one quizzically. The pink one looked at them and smiled.
~Wanna watch them with me?~
The purple creature gave a chitter of affirmation.
~Alright! Let's go.~
The pair headed off after the bipeds.
-----------
Polly, Vince, and Carol all hid behind some trees, watching the strange enemy soldiers walk by.
"This is so weird," said Vince. "These soldiers are like nothing in the Genesis Mountains."
"Well they did come out of a portal," said Carol.
"We need to find out what their deal is," said Polly. She turned a bit. ~Dunsparce?~
Dunsparce slithered out of some nearby bushes and toward the soldiers, burrowing underground when she got close. After a bit Polly could pick up on Dunsparce's thoughts.
~Woah,~ said Dunsparce. ~They're some... Embian Empire, they came from another realm, and, uh, they don't know what Pokemon are? Weirdos.~
Polly relayed the information to her companions.
"This is... concerning," said Vince.
"We need to report this to Ryan," said Carol.
Dunsparce slithered back to the group and they snuck back off to camp.
------------------
Aaron trudged through the forest after the senior Aura Guardians, trying to find where they'd gone. He had no clue what was going on, but he'd be darned if he couldn't-
He bumped into a leg coming out of some bushes and fell over.
"Ow..."
A boy noticeably older than him with blue hair looked down at where he lay. "Are you all right?"
"Ugh, yeah..."
"Oh, he's so cute!" said a blonde girl peeking over. "Is he one of the Heroes of this world?"
"Calm yourself, Sharena," said another, redheaded girl. "He's probably just a civilian."
"N-no I'm not!" said Aaron, sitting up. "I'm an Aura Guardian!"
"Hmmm, Aura Guardian?" said the redhead. "That sounds impressive... and marketable."
"Anna knowing you you'll just bring it up as a side thing and forget about it completely later."
"Don't question my strategies! Well at least not more than Kiran's. But Kiran has the flu so you all will have to listen to me!"
"Point is, can we keep him?" said the blonde girl, holding up a squirming Aaron.
"Sharena we can't just adopt every Hero we find," said the blue-haired boy. Sharena pouted and put Aaron down. "A girl can dream Alphonse."
"Wait, so who are you guys?" said Aaron.
"We're the Order Of Heroes!" said Alphonse. "Dedicated to protecting the multiverse from the Emblian Empire and similar threats!"
He looked around. "Though, uh, this seems a bit far from home multiverse-wise...."
Aaron's eyes were sparkling. "That sounds so cool! I totally wanna join!"
"Well, normally, Kiran has to summon you," said Anna. "But we could let you meet the team we brought along if you'd like!
"Sure thing!" said Aaron.
He followed the three away.
---------------
Mithos and the purple creature were hovering over the advancing Emblian army, ogling them curiously.
~Man these guys look like bad news,~ said Mithos.
The purple creature gave a chirp of agreement.
~Wanna mess with them?~
Another chirp.
~Good. Now...~
There were telepathic whispers, and the two separated to wait.
----------------
Polly, Vince, and Carol were talking to Ryan and Nightjar in the camp the group had set up.
"So yeah. They're extradimensional, they're here to conquer, but they have no idea what this world really is," said Vince.
"If that is the case, we may be able to convince them to look elsewhere with minimal casualties," said Nightjar.
"Are you sure diplomacy is the best idea in a situation like this?" said Polly. "When we're potentially outgunned, certainly," said Ryan. "And at the very least we have our Pokemon if worst comes to worst."
"Very well," said Carol. "Let's get ready."
They started preparing.
-------------
Aaron was lead to a camp populated by four people - a girl in a blue dress clutching a gemstone, a man with two large wings sprouting from his back, a green-haired man in blue with a book, and a green-haired woman tending to a Mudsdale.
"Hello there," said the girl in the dress. "I'm Ninian."
"I'm Tibarn," said the winged man.
"I'm Merric!" said the green-haired man.
"I'm Lyndis, but you may call me Lyn," said the green-haired girl.
"Nice to meet you all!" said Aaron. "I'm Aaron."
"I still think we should have brought Ballista Wolt on this mission," said Anna.
"No," said Alphonse, fear in his voice. "He's too powerful."
"But we use Grima and Duma on missions all the ti-"
"TOO POWERFUL."
Meanwhile, Aaron was inspecting Ninian and Tibarn in particular.
"So, what are the wings and stone for?"
"Oh, for this!" said Ninian.
Ninian raised the stone and suddenly transformed into a Hydreigon. Tibarn similarly transformed into a Braviary. Aaron's jaw hit the floor.
"That's so cool! I wish I could do that!"
"Their forms do look... different here," said Merric. "As does my magic." He cast an Air Slash.
"My horse looks different too..." said Lyn.
"Huh... You're not from here?"
"None of us are," said Tibarn, shifting to his normal self. "We're from other realms."
"So that's why you can do all this cool stuff?"
Lyn chuckled. "Pretty much."
"Attention!" said Anna. "Emblian troops are heading this way! We need to engage!"
The people in the camp immediately began to move. Sharena picked up a protesting Aaron and carried him following the others.
-----------------
The Emblian army's journey was almost at an end. They had almost reached the village.
"Halt."
The girl's head turned. There was Ryan, flanked by Polly, Vince, Carol, Nightjar, and several other senior Aura Guardians, as well as their Pokemon.
"We wish to negotiate."
"With what?" said the girl.
"This world is not the one you wish to intrude upon. It has nothing for you. Turn back and avoid wasting your time."
"Bah, you think I, Princess Veronica, am so easily swayed? The strange creatures of your world have so much potential... If we can fully harness it then-"
"Princess Veronica! We aren't going to let you do that!"
Saying this was Alphonse, who was leading his party up to the front lines. Veronica simply scowled.
"You all are interfering again? Very well. Troops, charge them both!"
Veronica prepared her dark magic spell, but since the author of this segment forgot what her personal tome is, let's say she left it at home and cast Fenrir instead.
The Aura Guardians managed to evade the blast of magic, and they and their Pokemon fired back with their powers. Shades of blue, pink, black, and lighter pink flew across the battlefield, knocking down a few soldiers and causing Veronica to scowl further.
From above, Ninian (in her new Hydreigon form) fired off a stormy Draco Meteor, the thunderbolts and lightning causing many enemy soldiers to be very frightened, scampering off the battlefield screaming “Galileo, galileo figaro, magnifico!” (hey they were from the Italian localization of FEH, don't blame me)
Tibarn swooped in and used Brave Bird, a move which disrupted the enemy formations enough for Merric and Lyndis to come in with an Aeroblast and a couple of Murgleis shots. Soldiers soared through the air like dragons and their dragon mounts crashed to the ground like humans.
Aaron had been sticking behind Sharena the whole time. Then he noticed Veronica nearby and got an idea.
He hid behind a small tree near her and started charging a Focus Blast right next to it. There was a crack and a flying of splinters as Aaron fell and so did the tree, straight toward Veronica. Veronica wasn't crushed due to the tree being small, skinny, and dead but it knocked her asunder, sending the troops into a panic.
It was then a booming laugh echoed across the battlefield and a Zekrom descended.
~Foolish mortals! I am the dragon god Morkrez, patron deity of this world! All who interfere shall suffer two punishments - one the sticky threads of fate!"
The purple creature flew around, leaving a poisonous glue that bound the panicked troops in place.
~And two... THE RAIN OF DEATH!~
“Surprise motherfuckers!” announced Ballista Wolt, who began firing Arrowspate bolts from the heavens. He then launched some Hoistflamme shots and some BlizzardBlasts, scorching and freezing the battlefield. Zaps of electricity from the brave-effect magic-based Zap Cannon ballista rained down from the sky. And to top off the siege of doom with the icing on the cake of increasingly potent siege weapons, Wolt loaded a trebuchet full of hatchets and fired, thus finishing with the very same weapon that slew the Demon King Fomortiis: the AxeLauncher.
Everyone stared in equal measures shock, awe, and horror, except Anna and Lyn, the former of whom grinned.
"I knew bringing him was a good idea!"
"My hero!" said Lyn, sighing wistfully.
Veronica got up, glowering at the others
"Imbecles! I'll be back for this world! And I'll have backup!"
She opened a portal and stormed through it, the remaining troops following. The Zekrom disappeared and a pink wisp was vaguely visible exiting the area.
"We... We did it," said Vince.
"Woo!" said Aaron. "...Ow, splinters."
"Your world is threatened no longer," said Ninian.
"Whee!" said Sharena, picking up Aaron and spinning him around. "You did great! One of our healers can probably fix up those splinters-"
"And after that you are giving him back because he's ours," said Polly. "Kid how did you get here?"
"I followed them!"
Meanwhile Ryan was conversing with Alphonse.
"The Genesis Mountain Aura Guardians are grateful for your support," said Ryan.
"And the Order Of Heroes is grateful for yours," said Alphonse.
"I'm not certain our respective groups will cross paths again but I have a feeling our worlds might."
"Well, the multiverse is pretty big, and we've got a lot closer to home to defend," said Alphonse, grinning, "but I certainly wouldn't mind coming here again. These Pokemon are fascinating!"
"Indeed they are," said Ryan. "I guess only time will tell."
-----------
Riolu, making his way through the human town he'd encountered, felt like he'd missed something.
He decided it was probably nothing.
***
April fools. :P
You can blame both Fire Emblem being my second-favorite Nintendo franchise after Pokemon, Fire Emblem Heroes being the one mobile game to ever hold my attention for long, and my friend Vanillite the Dragonslayer/Purple Mage - this whole shebang was his idea and he even wrote some of the fight scenes. The all-powerful monstrosity known as Ballista Wolt also originates from a FE8 romhack he did.
Anyway yeah this is canon but has no effect on the rest of the story so don't worry I'm not pulling any permanent crossover plots.

Hellsing: The Return
Y’all ready for some FanFiction? ^_^ This is my take on Continuing Hellsing Ultimate that I’ve recently gotten posted, and thought I’d share here too. MATURE CONTENT FOLKS. There’s violence, strong language, smut, and gore cause... well Hellsing. No warnings beyond that currently (no sexual violence or anything like that), so have at thee if ya like. All Chapters compiled here, but I’ll be posting inline for anyone who just tumblrz.
You must make Water of the Earth, and Earth of the Air, and Air of the Fire, and Fire of the Earth. The Black Sea. The Black Luna. The Black Sol. Here is the last of the White Stone and the beginning of the Red.  ~Opening of The Ripley Scroll
30 years after the Millennium incident in London, Hellsing Organization is asked to investigate a sensitive matter by an unexpected source. What is uncovered forever changes the course of the future and the Legacy of the Hellsing family.
Chapter 1 - The White Stone
In the sea without lees Standeth the bird of Hermes Eating his wings variable And maketh himself yet full stable When all his feathers be from him gone He standeth still here as a stone Here is now both white and red And all so the stone to quicken the dead All and some without fable Both hard and soft and malleable Understand now well and right And thank you God of this sight The bird of Hermes is my name eating my wings to make me tame.
It was as if no time had passed.
Sitting on the same side of the bed he always had, watching the rise and fall of her breathing as she slept, the vampire king smiled to himself. Her hair was lighter, peppered with white, and she abhorred the wrinkles and lines of age on her face, but to him she was more beautiful than ever. She was human, and had aged - a natural magic he would never see.
It had taken thirty years for him to regain himself. Thirty long years for him to kill all the lives within him, save one. One that now allowed him to be everywhere and nowhere at once, one life that granted him omnipresence and would ensure his survival… and that of his little coven.
Of course he would never call them that aloud. Not that he thought Seras would mind much - it was hard enough keeping her at bay right now. He could feel her excitement and joy at having him back vibrating at the edge of his attention even now. That Captain Bernadotte was still around so actively surprised him little, but not as much as he’d have predicted. Of course he’d become Seras’s shadow. The man had been amusing at best in life, but had transcended the limitations of his mortal form into something far more interesting and entertaining. A security barrier for the entire manor. It was impressive.
And yet it was Integra that intrigued him the most. She was still herself - that core of ice, steel, and pride she’d had since she was a girl had not dulled in his absence. To his dismay and perhaps a touch of guilt, there was a light that had gone from her eyes. She was sad… Seras claimed constantly, though she clarified Integra hid it until she thought no one was looking.
It just made the No Life King smile. It was not out of cruelty, he had not meant to make her wait so very long. But even before, when he had desired her for his queen, and shared intimacy with her, selfishly spoiling her expectations in the hopes of keeping her for himself and hoping she would never find the touch of another man… he had wanted to die. He knew what it was like to be tired. The press of lives inside him, the cacophony of bitter and angry, scared voices never letting him escape his past. He relived the horrors that had made him what he was in his dreams most nights.
But no more. Now, there was an eerie calm, a peace to his mind. Gone with the turmoil and dinn had gone his self annihilation impulses. Yes, he was a monster. Yes, if he were to be removed from this world it would be at the hands of a human, as it should be. Humans killed monsters, it was the way of things. But he longed for that death no more.
Now, he longed for her.
Still, he longed for her.
And she for him. That was what drew a smile from him.
Reaching out to run fingers through her impossibly long hair, Alucard's smile broadened. He’d said to his Countess he was home, and he felt the truth of that statement. He also felt Seras trying to eavesdrop down the hall. Without untangling his fingers from Integra’s hair, he reached out his other hand through his new power - is wasn’t even really bending space. His hand was merely both in Integra’s room, and suddenly directly in front of Seras’s face.
Flipping one finger out, Seras yelped like a squeaky toy as she went flying backwards off the chair she was sitting on, and immediately started yelling at him.
“That was so mean, Master! Why would you do that I was sitting here minding my own business and you just-”
You were eavesdropping, Police Girl, he said to her mind, smirking as the nickname caused her to fuzz like an upset cat. Do better.
With a sigh and a non-verbal grumble as he reclaimed his hand, he heard her say dejectedly to his mind, Yes, Master.
Seeing Integra had not stirred, the vampire smiled to himself. So she thought herself old and undesirable, that he was too late. And yet she’d bested every man, every day of training for the last thirty years. She remained the respected head of her family organization, made Hellsing better, stronger than before. This all revealed to him when he had tasted her blood this night, a sweet ambrosia after starving for so long… and there was one little last, precious detail that made his hair curl to think about; she was still a virgin. She had waited on him in more ways than one.
She had missed him.
She was mad, he could feel that. Perhaps not enough to empty a second clip of blessed bullets into him after realizing who her nighttime interloper had been, but… he had some time to make up for before he would get her to agree.
But she would, eventually. Just as he had known she had thirty-two years ago.
She would agree to be his queen. It was time.
***
In the morning, Integra woke alone and wondered if the night before had been a very vivid dream. She looked around her room as she sat up, and felt a chill run down her spine. Surely it had been real…? Looking to her hand, her wound from where she’d fed Alucard was present. And yet it wasn’t enough to assure her.
She rose to dress after a short shower, glancing disapprovingly at herself in the mirror. Refined, mature, distinguished? Feh. Try old. Not to mention the eye patch from where the damned Major of Millennium had shot her. Fist clenched at her side she was still angry about it to this day. Less the vanity and more the lack of depth perception. She’d had to relearn how to shoot, to fence, to write… to do everything. That little gremlin had continued to make life hard for her for years after his death.
These thoughts carried her downstairs and into the kitchen for breakfast. She missed the days of Walter’s flapjacks and jam, but Walter had made his choice. Traitor. It had been more than ten years before Seras finally convinced Integra to entertain the notion of hiring another assistant. They’d been through four maids, two butlers and three personal assistants since then, none of which had worked out. The last had been a kind, elderly woman who’d done everything just right, and whose background check had been spotless. Poppy McCarthy had been ex-military and unbothered by the supernatural aspects of the job. She had been with them for six years. She’d taken to Seras and Pip quickly, pinching the walls to make the Captain jump, and told him she’d find his behind one day (much to Seras’s great amusement). McCarthy had intuitively picked up on Integra’s needs as well, keeping distant most days, but always knowing just the right times to say something insightful and uplifting. Come to find out, Poppy had also left a clean set of clothes next to the door of Alucard’s sealed chamber every few days.
She’d been perfect, and Integra had finally started to accept her... when she died. Seemed an unknown heart condition coupled with a vampire attack on the manor had been too much for the elderly woman. Though to her credit, she’d taken out more than a dozen ghouls in the process, and they didn’t get to her at all. She had died a human warrior against the darkness.
That had been two years ago now, and Integra had not had the heart to go through it all again. It wasn’t that they didn’t need the help, it’s that she was tired of coming to care for people she would inevitably loose. It was part of the job, yes. She was a knight and a soldier who understood this, yes. Years of experience and training had prepared her for difficult decisions and loss. But after Alucard… she felt defeated.
Toast and a boiled egg was for breakfast, and Integra knew she was procrastinating. She wanted to go tearing downstairs, throw open Alucard’s door and see if he was there. She was equally terrified he wouldn’t be. But, she was English Nobility. She didn’t go haring off into a dungeon for anyone. She had dignity and manners, dammit.
Perhaps I can save you the trouble, my master , came the satin touch of a familiar baritone to her mind.
Still reading my mind unbidden, I see , she retorted flatly, trying her best to think of sunny days and toast, rather than the thrill of relief and other strong emotions his voice wrung from her.
I have missed years of eavesdropping your thoughts, he chuckled. I plan to make up for lost time for that, and many other things .
With a sigh, she was going to give herself a headache trying to keep her thoughts from him. She’d gotten fairly good at it over the years with help from Seras. But Seras was not as powerful as Alucard yet. Integra had every confidence that she would likely never be able to hide her thoughts from him entirely. So, she tossed the crust of her toast in the bin, and with head held high made her way to the sub-basement. It would be easier to talk to him in person.
***
“Don’t think that you can waltz right back in here, appearing like the villain the Irishman wrote you as, over my bed and that tra-la-la everything will go back to how it once was, servant,” she snapped.
Alucard sat in his throne (he’d missed it! It was so much more comfortable than he’d remembered!), legs crossed and trying with all his might not to smile at the platinum haired fury across from him. She was very angry, and he understood why. She was also armed. While it wouldn’t do any lasting damage, Alucard did not care to be shot for a second time in twelve hours.
She was railing on, having perhaps been a touch provoked at his smug suggestion that she sit on his lap. Ranting about the years gone by, what Hellsing had endured, what she had endured, how dare he suggest that nothing had changed, and so on. It all faded in his ears as he watched her. He heard her words, and paid attention, but there was something captivating about her now that had not been before. She was comfortable in her skin, or had been more recently than not. She was no longer the young, angry, tight fisted young woman who’d clung tooth and nail to her inheritance. Her blouse was gathered at the sleeves, not a tailored man’s shirt. Her belt was a woman’s belt. There was a small edge of lace at the end of her tie. This anger was earned, and not an affronted outburst of sensitive pride...
The storm had passed, and left in its wake a goddess where once a young woman had stood.
“Well?!” she demanded, arms crossed expectantly. “Where do you expect this to go now?”
She meant as the weapon of the organization, as her servant having fully and quickly grasped the extent of his new power. Both her words and her very purposeful thoughts were focused on that.
But in her subconscious mind, he felt the young woman he’d left to go save himself, buried deep in a dark room not unlike the one in which they stood. She was hurt, weeping and very angry, and she wanted to know where they stood.
Integra slowed, as she was the only other thing capable of independent movement in the room, when he began moving in supernatural speed. As he stood and took a step forward, he watched her one blue eye widen- she’d seen him move. She’d not see him now, nor would she again until he stopped in front of her, but it made him smile that she was faster than ever, his lovely, deadly master.
Time resumed it’s proper course when he halted, nearly nose to now with Integra, hand on her gun and having every intent of shooting him again. Alucard could no longer refrain from smiling, holding her wrist to prevent her from unholstering the weapon. “I expect to be your servant in service to the Hellsing Organization until the day you decide that you’re no longer mad at me, that I have paid my penance for the thirty year absence, and that you are ready to join me as my No Life Queen, Intergal Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing.”
Her eye widened, despite the rest of her face remaining stoic. “That… cannot be now. I could not be old for eternity.”
“No?” he asked, leaning down a touch and pulling her closer by the wrist he held. He noted, she did not try and struggle away. “Have you not seen me appear as a child? A girl-child even. I was no Seras Victoria when I became a monster, Countess. My blood, when it courses your veins,” he said as if speaking elicit poetry, “Will wash many years away, and one day, what form you take will be entirely up to you and untouchable by what time once thought to render.”
At that, her blue eye watered a little, and much of her anger fled. “And you?” she asked, refusing to give into the desire to lean against him. “You would still have me?”
Loosing her wrist and wrapping both arms around her, Alucard leaned in to kiss her neck, breathing over her skill and reveling in the shudder that took her body.
“You are my Countess, and have no idea what it took to return to you. The thought of your blood, your body, your kiss… were the desires that created cornerstones within me. When I lost myself, you, my master, were the foundations on which I was able to reclaim who I am. And be here.”
Reaching up to turn her face to him with a gentle finger, one arms still holding her against his chest, he grinned to see the spark of fire back in her one remaining eye. “I would have you here and now, if you gave the word, Countess.”
She damn near said yes. He saw it in her thoughts, felt it in the beat of her heart…
But, the walls cleared their throat?
“Pardonne moi, mes amis ,” Bernadotte’s voice echoed around them. “Seras wished for me to let Sir Hellsing know that apparently the Vatican is back?”
“I can kill them, and we can continue,” Alucard purred, feeling his temper flare a bit.
But Integra sighed and rest her forehead on Alucard’s shoulder. “They’ll find the family jewels if we leave them be too long, nosy bastards.”
Alucard frowned. “There was no family treasure Arthur or Abraham ever mentioned.”
“That’s because there isn’t any,” Integra chuckled. “That’s the joke. Pip?”
“Mademoiselle ?”
“Tell Seras I will be there in a few minutes. And politely fuck off for a moment, if you would?” The disembodied voice of the French mercenary chuckled, but turned his attention elsewhere noticeably, leaving them alone.
“Where were we,” Alucard rumbled, but was surprised when Integra took his face in her hands and kissed him. Chaste at first, her lips parted and he groaned, arms tightening around her waist as he tasted her mouth for the first time in what felt like much longer than thirty years.
It was more than a few minutes. No clothes were shed, nor anything more than a kiss. But it was a scandalous, toe curling affair from which Alucard did not wish to part. Unfortunately, it seemed the Jesus Freaks were starting to give his child a hard time upstairs.
“To be continued,” he purred, lips brushing hers before they parted, and together went to greet the enemy.
