Now that you had broken a rule in your and Lewis' arrangement, you were expecting all-out warfare and destruction. So far your predictions were wrong, all you had gotten was the silent treatment.
In your short war against Lewis, your home had become so hostile that you've been working overtime the last few days to avoid being in the flat other than to sleep, shower and eat. Lewis had taken a different approach and had been going to the gym, or fucking other girls, you weren't entirely sure how he spent his time but you wouldn't be surprised by him taking up either option. Or both.
Either way, he comes home, drops his bag by the front door, plays with Roscoe and downs a protein shake before taking a shower and going to bed. All without saying a word to you.
You weren't hurt by this. Lewis had unintentionally (or intentionally, you were never sure) been ignoring you in your relationship for several months and so this wasn't going to hurt you. But what did hurt you was that even Roscoe was starting to ignore you and had been spending less time with you these last few days. He stuck by Lewis' side as your husband took every opportunity to make you feel like an outsider.
Well, I guess we know who's getting Roscoe if we were to divorce.
You had at some point used Whitney's home as a refuge, which you were secretly grateful for. She had known that you and Lewis were going through a tough time but you had never told her the exact reasons. Especially the ones that had unfolded in the last few days. You weren't ready for another round of I-told-you-so's when it came to your relationship with Lewis.
She still had no idea about your open relationship. Nor was she aware of your fling with Charles after you had left the club that night. For all she knew, you had danced with and kissed Charles in a drunken moment after a fight with your husband. No biggie.
And when you rocked up to her apartment shortly after your argument with Lewis, she seemed to be none the wiser. You were there to grab your belongings after all.
"Look at you. Making out with a hot Frenchie before having angry sex with your husband," she teased. "Told you girls night would be a good idea".
"What are you talking about?" you scoffed as you had gathered the belongings you had left behind.
Sex with Lewis? Like that was on the cards these days.
"I recognise hate sex when I see it. I mean, look at those hickeys on your neck," Whitney laughed.
Shit! You had noticed them when you left Charles’ and you were going to cover them up when you got home but then you got so lost in your argument with Lewis that you got changed as quickly as you could before you left for Whitney's.
"Oh yeah," you laugh sheepishly. "I forgot he left those on my neck".
Dammit, Charles! If Whitney had noticed them then Lewis definitely would have noticed. Great, even more ammunition for him to use against you. You pull up the collar of your shirt in a pathetic attempt to hide the markings on your neck.
"It's fine. Max always used to leave marks on me when we used to have makeup sex," Whitney tells you. "He was always up for that kind of stuff when we argued".
You laugh to yourself at the memory of Whitney's ex, Max. A sweet and funny guy until you pissed him off and then he became a hot-headed Dutchman. You were all too familiar with them from growing up in Belgium.
"How was the sex, by the way?"
"What?" You're completely out of the loop when it comes to the conversation from your brief trip down memory lane.
"The sex? With Lewis?"
"Oh!! Yeah, it was good," you lie. "Pretty hot. He got really into it".
Whitney cackles. "Well, I'm not surprised. The way you two have been arguing lately you were due a hot and heavy go at it."
You roll your eyes when she's not looking and take the first opportunity you can to move the conversation away from you and Lewis. "Enough about me. What about that guy you brought home?"
Whitney blushes as she's clearly having flashbacks. "It was good. Better than I thought, to be honest. I'm actually seeing him again this Friday," she gushes.
"Oh, do tell".
"Well, he's having a house party this Friday for his birthday and invited me. You should totally come," she sounds so excited. Before you even get a chance to respond, she's already beaten you to it.
"You need to come. I think he lives with that sexy guy with the dimples. You know, the one that you kissed?" She teases. You're tempted to throw the cushion that's beside you at her head. You loved your best friend but boy, did she never let you forget your actions.
"Whitney, don't!" you plead. You've just moved on from the Lewis conversation. You really didn't need to get into a conversation about Charles with her.
But she dismisses your pleas, "Oh, come on! It was just a kiss. One that you seemed pretty into, by the way. And besides, it's not like you fucked him."
Yeah, about that...
"Anyway, you're having a shit time at home with Lewis. Maybe you guys need to have some social time apart until things cool down. Plus, there's nothing wrong with having a sexy French guy flirting with you every now and again".
"They're Monegasque, Whitney," you whine. Charles had told you that it was one of his pet peeves when someone got his nationality wrong.
"As if there's a difference. But you're coming to that party".
-
You were slowly edging closer to Friday and as the week continued, so did the cold front you were receiving from Lewis. Before he was just blatantly ignoring you but now he was just being downright petty. He'd been constantly texting and giggling whenever he was in the same room as you. Leaving and coming back to the apartment at all hours. Speaking obnoxiously loud on the phone with his friends about going out and partying this weekend. You're pretty sure you even saw him pull a woman's thong out of his backpack at one point.
And I'm the one that's supposed to be 10 years younger than him? you had thought to yourself at the time. If you had rolled your eyes any further they'd be permanently at the back of your head.
Whatever tactic Lewis was going for you weren't sure. Was he trying to make you feel guilty? Have some regrets? Possibly even to make you jealous?
You had even started to think in the other direction.
Was he just so shocked that you finally made a ballsy move in your marriage that he didn't know how to react? Because prior to last weekend it would have been so unimaginable that you would do something without thinking how it would affect Lewis. You had spent most of your relationship being infatuated with him after all.
Or, god forbid, he was genuinely hurt that you had slept with someone other than him so easily. And he was trying to process the hurt and confusion that he was feeling, even if he didn't have a leg to stand on.
Whatever his motive was - it was unclear. This was behaviour from Lewis that you had never experienced before. And so, rather than engage with him in a game you didn't have the energy or knowledge to partake in, you used it as an opportunity to explore your own thoughts and feelings.
You were still undecided about if you should go to Joris' party on Friday or not. It could be a recipe for disaster and result in further hatred from Lewis. But a part of you was still curious. Charles was most likely going to be there and you hadn't seen or spoken to him since you had left his apartment last weekend.
You were keen to see him again. The night and morning that you had spent with him almost felt surreal. Whenever you had a moment, your mind would flicker back to him and you thought about all of the things that you found attractive about him:
His accent. His scent.
Those dimples.
His adorable laugh which ranged from a light chuckle to sometimes sounding like a seal was dying.
His toned body.
The way he called you amour.
His warm breath hitting you as he moved on top of you.
His tongue slipping into your mouth.
You had to catch yourself a few times as you were finding yourself replaying the events from the weekend in your head. The more of these moments you had, the more you realised you had to settle this sense of curiosity once and for all.
And so you had texted Charles asking if you guys could meet in person. He had agreed and you had decided to meet after work on Thursday.
As you made your way to the entrance of the bar that you had agreed to meet in, you were hit with a wave of nerves. Seeing him again sans alcohol had you doubting yourself. Was this really a good idea? You were already in the doghouse.
But how much further into the doghouse could I be in right now?
Whatever sense of panic and doubt you were feeling left your body as soon as your eyes connected with Charles'. He was already sitting at a table and from the moment he noticed you walking in, his lights lit up and a bright smile immediately spread across his face.
He was stunning. And you were reminded of it each time that you saw him.
He stood up from his seat as you made your way towards him and he opened his arms for you to fall into you. You obliged and rested your head against his chest as he held you for a few moments.
"Hi," your greeting was so blunt that you could feel Charles' chest vibrate against your head as he chuckled.
"Hi, [Y/N]," he laughed.
You lifted your head from his chest so you were now looking up at him and into his eyes.
"It's good to see you again, amour," he whispers as he moves his hands from around your body to cup your face.
He examines you before placing a delicate kiss on your lips. You feel like you're about to melt into him at just the slightest touch of his lips against yours.
"Hi, Charles".
You open your eyes and see that Charles' pretty green eyes are looking into yours deeply. He's been just as curious as you have over these last few days. Especially when it comes to the thought of what it would be like to see you again. To feel you. Were you as into him as he had originally thought?
After your embrace, you take a seat opposite him and your hand immediately reached for his across the table. You've only been here for a minute but you already feel like you need to have your bodies intertwined in some way. He laces his fingers through yours and gives your hand a light squeeze.
"How have you been, amour?" he asks you gently.
God, just hearing him say amour again makes you want to launch across the table and plant another kiss on his lips.
"I've been okay," you tell him. "It's been an interesting few days since I left yours on Saturday".
Charles smiles at you sympathetically. "I can imagine".
You sense a hint of nervousness in his body language as he asks you another question, "Does your husband know?"
"He does," you sigh. "I mean, I arrived home in the clothes that I left yours in. It was pretty obvious".
"And how did he react?"
You can't help but let out a laugh, which confuses Charles a little.
"Well, let's just say he hates me right now. But honestly, I don't really care," you tell him truthfully. "He's being insanely difficult but he's a hypocrite. He's done stuff like this for so long now that he's now just throwing his toys out of the pram. I don't think he ever expected me to prioritise my own feelings for once".
You take a sip of the drink that Charles had already ordered for you before arrived before continuing, "And it only confirms that I made the right decision to stay with you".
You can't help but smile as a sense of relief washes over Charles and he smiles back at you. "So you don't regret coming home with me?"
"Charles, it was the best decision I've made in a very long time".
To reassure him, you lean over the table and place a kiss on his lips. You stay there for a moment, slightly deepening the kiss before eventually pulling away. As much as you would like to, you can't tongue him down in the middle of a bar on a late-Thursday afternoon.
"And aside from the great sex," you laugh, pausing after you see Charles look ever so slightly more smug at your comment, "I also really enjoyed getting to know you."
"I really enjoyed getting to know you too, [Y/N]," he replies. His voice is so soft and genuine that a warm feeling rushes across your entire body. "I wanted to message you after you had left on Saturday but I wanted to give you the time and space you needed. I mean, your situation from what I can see is a lot more complicated than mine".
You nod. Complicated definitely felt like an understatement these days.
"But my feelings towards you aren't complicated. And I'd like to get to know you more," his voice is soft once again. His eyes are glued to your face. He's looking at you deeply, your fingers still laced with his.
You take in a breath before you reply with,
"I'd like that a lot, Charles".
You both lean in to meet each other in another kiss, this one a little more passionate than the previous ones you had shared today.
As you both move away, he presses his forehead against yours in another sign of affection.
You and Charles continued your conversation about getting to know each other. He did have a few more questions for you about your marriage. Before today you would have tried to dodge Charles' questions but after he so openly shared his feelings and intentions towards you, you felt like you owed him some reassurance. And that you and Lewis had some sort of agreement. You also weren't just stringing him along in some shitty affair to get back at your husband but you wanted to get to know him on a deeper level.
You'd also discussed the party that Joris was hosting the next day and Charles was more than keen for you to come but he noticed you still had some hesitations.
"How many of your friends know about us?" you asked him quietly.
"Just the guys that you met, Riccardo and Hugo. Joris knows too," he tells you. "I think some of the others would have known that I kissed you but I'm pretty sure they don't know that we slept together".
You hesitate a little, "How sure is pretty sure?"
"I mean, I told the guys not to say anything. It's not really their place to run around telling everyone your business," he replies. Your hands are in his and he's stroking the back of your hands with his thumbs to soothe you. "I also didn't want them to ruin my chances of seeing you again".
You relax a little and you can't help but to smile at him. "You're too good at this," you joke.
"I'm not always this good," he sounds honest but when you look at him and take in his beauty, you wonder how he couldn't be so good at this. "But with you, amour, it feels natural".
You jokingly roll your eyes but you feel warm and fuzzy inside. You're so easy when it comes to him. And for a moment, your mind flashes back to the beginning of your relationship with Lewis and how you so easily fell for his charm.
But Lewis was much older than you and way more experienced. With Charles, it's beginning to feel more natural, more authentic.
Before you could begin to compare the two further, Charles brings you back to attention.
"Your friend..."
"Whitney".
"Whitney," he carries on, "does she know?"
You shake your head a little. "Erm, no. She doesn't. She did see us kiss and stuff on the dance floor but she still thinks that I went home that night."
Charles nods, he seems quite understanding.
"And she thinks those love bites that you left on my neck are Lewis'. Just in case it comes up," you tease.
Charles drops his head in embarrassment. His cheeks flush a little but you can see he's trying to hide a smile. "Sorry about that".
Somehow you don't think he's sorry.
You both tease each other for a few moments before you become slightly more serious again. "She doesn't know the true nature of my relationship with Lewis right now. She just knows we're having a shit time".
"So I'm going to have to drag you to a private room if I want to kiss you tomorrow?"
You giggle as Charles flashes you a cheeky grin. "I think so".
-
You pulled out your best acting skills as you and Whitney made your way to Charles and Joris' apartment for the party the following evening, pretending as if you hadn't been here just seven days before.
"What apartment number is it?" you ask as you both stand downstairs at the main entrance.
807, you reply to yourself mentally.
"Err.... 807!" Whitney replies before punching in the apartment number.
A muffled voice accompanied by some thumping music tells you to come in before the door unlocks in front of you. As you wait in the lift with Whitney, you begin to think about how you'll interact with Charles tonight and not make it obvious that just one week ago he'd been fucking you in this very apartment for five hours straight.
Especially if you have a few drinks in you. Your composure was non existent after you got a few tequilas into your system.
"I swear to god, if tonight doesn't result in sex with the birthday boy, I've lost my touch," Whitney sighs. You hold back a laugh as you remain grateful for your friend's ability to always get you to snap back into reality. Even if that was discussing whether or not she'd be giving the birthday boy her own special type of gift.
As you approached the apartment door, you were both greeted by the birthday boy, Joris, who drunkenly threw his arms around the both of you.
"Come on in, ladies," he drunkenly yells in your ear. "Time to get drunk on my birthday".
He begins to drag the two of you into the apartment and into the kitchen where you're greeted with the sound of music blasting and the smell of alcohol.
"Looks like someone has already started," Whitney teases. You feel like a third wheel as Joris whispers something into her ear and Whitney starts giggling. Unfortunately, Joris still has his arm wrapped around you as they continue to flirt with one another.
You try to free yourself as one of the other guests hands you a cup of something but Joris has you trapped as him and Whitney continue their conversation.
"I'm going to leave you two to it," you hope your attempts of freeing yourself aren't too subtle but Joris and Whitney are already too into each other for them to even remember your existence.
A few minutes have passed and you've finally freed yourself from Whitney and Joris. You haven't told Charles that you were here yet since you and Whitney had gotten ready and come to the party together, not needing an opportunity for her to spot you texting Charles. You two were going to have to play it casual tonight.
Once you've poured yourself something that doesn't want to make you throw up, you begin to make your way into the living room to find some other company. As you make your way back into the hall, you bump into none other than Charles' friend from last week. Hugo.
"Heeeyyyy... isn't it long time no see?" he yells as he jokingly throws his arms around you. "Been a while since I've seen you here".
You try not to roll your eyes as he's clearly intoxicated and lightly poking fun at you.
"Nice to see you too," you reply dryly.
"Only joking, apparently I'm not supposed to be telling anyone that you and Charles are fucking," he continues, his words are slightly slurred. What time did these guys start drinking?
"Well, you're doing a very good job at it I must say," you say sarcastically. You look up at him and he's smiling down at you.
"Thank you," your sarcasm has completely gone over his head. "I've always been good at keeping secrets". His arms are still wrapped around you in a friendly hug. Just as you've managed to free yourself from one drunken embrace you've now found yourself in another.
"I'm going to just have a quick walk around, I'll catch you later, yeah?" you tell him and manage to free yourself from Hugo's grasp. As you make your way towards the living room he calls after you, "Your boyfriend is in the living room if you're looking for him".
This is going to be a long night.
Despite his lack of composure and subtlety, you thank Hugo before making your way into the living room in your search for Charles. You have a quick look around the living room, weaving your way through plenty of people. You can't see him. As you're about to turn and make your way back into the kitchen, you feel a hand on your shoulder.
"Hey you".
You quickly turn around and see Charles standing behind you with a smile on his face. You return the smile and feel grateful at the fact that he's clearly not as intoxicated as the rest of his friends.
"Hey," you greet him softly.
You take in his appearance and as usual, he's looking good. His brown hair is in its usual style and he's rocking a slight tan thanks to the rare London sun. He's wearing a baby blue linen shirt that has the first three buttons undone, his toned chest peaking through. You would have leaned in to kiss him already but you remind yourself that you two need to be on your best behaviour tonight - leaving no signs that you have been involved in any way.
Not that Charles' friend are sticking to that party line.
"Nice to see you again, Charles," you tell him, slightly blushing as he's amused by your staring.
"Thank you, [Y/N]," he says before leaning down to your ear and whispering, "You look beautiful, amour".
The rosiness returns to your cheeks.
You and Charles are trying to find ways to have a normal conversation with one another without wanting to display signs of affection when you hear loud, drunken voices make their way into the living room.
"Shots!"
The voice carries towards you and you see Joris make his way through the crowd of people with a tray of liquor in his hands. He spots Charles and manages to make his way over to him without spilling any alcohol, miraculously.
"Charles, bro, take a shot!"
As Charles takes a shot glass from the tray, Joris looks over to see you standing there and a grin instantly appears on his face.
"Aw, you found your girlfriend," Joris teases and you feel like you're about to shit yourself when you see Whitney following behind.
"Joris," Charles grits through his teeth in an attempt to shut his friend up but if you and Charles are planning on having an easy night with no teasing from your friends, this was not a great start.
"Ohh... look who it is," Whitney laughs as she looks between you and Charles. "Two more of these sambucas and she might kiss you again".
"Whitney!" it was your turn now to scold your friend. Charles quickly flashes you a look of sympathy.
"Come on, it was a joke. Just take a shot," she yells at you and gives you an elbow into the side. You obey her orders and take a shot glass from the tray.
You were definitely going to need more of these if you were going to get through this night.
"3... 2... 1..."
The four of you take a shot, wincing in the process. You're still getting over the vile taste of the sambuca when you feel Whitney grab your arm.
"Come on, [Y/N}, let's go to the bathroom," she says as she begins to drag you out of the living room. "We'll catch you guys in a bit".
Before you're completely dragged away, you look at Charles one last time, mouthing "Pray for me!" which earns a chuckle from Charles.
Once you and Whitney find your way to the bathroom, she locks the door before plonking herself down on the toilet.
"You've told - what's his name again, the hot Frenchie?" Whitney asks.
"Charles". And he's Monegasque.
"You've told Charles that you're married, right?" Whitney quizzes you. Her questioning soon accompanied by the sound of her peeing.
"Yeah, I have," you reply. You hope that your expression is neutral, enough to hide the sudden stress that you're feeling inside.
"Okay good!"
"Why do you ask?" you feel like you might regret asking this one.
"Because I'm pretty sure he was giving you, I wanna fuck you eyes".
-
You had managed to escape further questioning from Whitney as you successfully moved the conversation along to how she was going to end the night with Joris again.
After you'd left the bathroom, you'd enjoyed the evening with more alcohol and talking to random people at the party. You and Charles occasionally bumped into one another. As much as you wanted to spend most of your night with him, you often had to have surface level conversations and make eye contact with him from across the room.
But right now you were the closest you had been together all night since taking shots with Joris and Whitney. You currently found yourself sitting on the sofas with a few randoms, one of Charles' friends whose name you still hadn't gotten yet and an agitated Charles who was basically eye fucking you from the other sofa. You both were evidently frustrated, it's the longest you two had been around each other without being able to touch one another.
As you were stuck listening to one of Charles' friends rambling on about something football related, you noticed Charles take out his phone and type away aggressively. Once he finished his text, he locked his phone and returned to burning his eyes into your body.
Charles' drunken friend had now moved the conversation onto why he called himself a "Smooth Operator" when you saw your phone flash in your lap. You look down and see a text from Charles:
I can't take this any more, I miss you. Meet me in my bedroom x
You close your phone and briefly look over at Charles, slightly nodding to confirm his request, before you briefly continue your conversation with the "Smooth Operator". In the corner of your eye, you see Charles excuse himself and make his way towards his bedroom. You give yourself thirty seconds before telling this guy that you needed to go to the bathroom.
You try to avoid detection by Whitney and any of Charles' friends that knew about the two of you and eventually make your way to Charles' bedroom. His door is closed and you quietly push it open. You take a quick peak inside and as you're about to take a step in, you feel a hand grab onto your arm in the dark and pull you inside, shutting the door quickly after you.
"Merde, it's about time I got you to myself tonight," Charles growls as he presses you against the door. He wastes no time and, in the dark, he presses his lips onto yours hungrily.
You've barely had a chance to breathe since Charles pulled you into his room as his hands find their way onto your body. One hand finds it's way to your ass and begins grabbing at one of your cheeks like a possessed animal.
"Mmmm!"
Charles initially ignores the noise that you've made against his lip but when you grab onto his hair and pull onto the strands at the back of his head, he slowly pulls away from the kiss.
"Sorry, amour. I got a little carried away," he pants. "I've been waiting to do that all night".
You let out a little laugh, "It's okay, Charles. I've been dying to do the same thing".
As you both recover your breath from the heated kiss, Charles' hands are firmly placed on your ass. "I've been trying my best not to get my hands on this leather skirt all evening".
You giggle, a way to let him know you wore this tight skirt on purpose and find his lips once more in the dark. You wrap your arms around his neck and push your tongue into his mouth. The kiss is a little slower this time but the passion is very much still there.
As the kiss begins to heat up once more, Charles presses his body onto yours and you feel your back press against the bedroom door once more. You can't help but smile at the hard bulge you feel that's pushing against your hip. The poor guy is already needy.
Taking the initiative, your hands run down Charles’ chest and you slowly begin to unbutton his shirt. You reach for his belt and begin to tug at it, undoing the buckle. He lets out a soft moan against your lips.
As you unzip his jeans and begin to pull them down, you decide to tease him, "Do you want me to touch you, Charles?"
He bites down on your lip in retaliation and you let out a whine.
"Fuck!"
"Don't tease me when I'm this hard for you, amour," he tells you before moving his lips to your jaw line and towards your neck.
Looks like those marks will be making a reappearance this weekend.
You ignore Charles' demands and begin to rub him over his boxer briefs, his dick is almost solid at this point. You feel him moan against your neck and one of his hands rests above your head on the door to hold himself up.
You continue to rub him, not giving him skin-to-skin contact down below.
"Baby, please," he begs.
You're trying to hold back a smile and before you get a chance to tease him further, he grabs your hand and shoves it down his boxers so your hand is on his dick.
"Fuck!"
His groan is so deep in your ear that you can feel yourself starting to get wet from it. You realise that you've teased him long enough and begin moving your hand up and down against his shaft. You rub your thumb across the tip and feel a bit of pre cum.
"Oh fuck, [Y/N}, just like that," Charles pants in your ear. You follow his demands, slightly picking up the pace with your movements. He attaches his lips to your neck in an attempt to stifle his soft moans.
Eventually, you grow bored of just having his hard cock in your hand and so you pull yourself away from him. As you get down on your knees in front of him, Charles opens his eyes to complain.
"Baby, what the-"
You silence him by taking him into your mouth.
"Merde".
You pull your mouth off of him so you can spit on his dick before moving your hand up and down his shaft once more.
"Do you like that, baby?" your voice is sickeningly sweet.
"Oui".
You smile and take him in your mouth more, placing your hands on both of his thighs to keep you upright and you begin bobbing your head up and down. His dick hitting the back of your throat. As Charles' moans get a little louder, you feel him lift up your hair and make it into a ponytail so he has better control of your movements.
As your mouth continues to move up and down against his shaft, you peer up at him through your lashes and see that he's staring down at you. His mouth is slightly open in the shape of an "o" as he watches you down below. His head resting against the back of his bedroom door.
"You look so perfect like this, amour".
You've missed him calling you that. And so as a reward, you take him out of you mouth, making a popping sound in the process so you can move down to take one of his balls into your mouth. One of your hands moves back to his cock so it doesn't get lonely from your mouth.
Charles is clearly enjoying it as you feel him tug on your hair slightly, another deep moan leaving his mouth in pleasure.
You pay attention to the other ball for a while before taking him back into your mouth once more. Charles decided it's his turn to take control and places his hands at the back of your head and begins to lightly thrust into your mouth. His dick hitting the back of your throat repeatedly.
"Oh God!"
His moaning is met with the sound of you slightly gagging as he hits the back of your throat. He continues thrusting into your mouth and you feel your eyes begin to water at the sensation, spit drooling down either side of your mouth.
Once the sensation becomes a little too much, you squeeze Charles' thighs so he can pull out of your mouth and you take in a deep breath. You feel your spit run down the side of your face and Charles looks at you with so much lust.
You place his cock into your hand once more for assistance and take him into your mouth, you're a little quicker this time with the movement, wanting him to climax.
He's starting to twitch in your mouth and you know he's close. His hands are still holding your hair into a pony tail but one of his thumbs is now caressing your cheek.
"Baby, you're so good at this," he whispers.
He lightly thrusts into your mouth once more to let you know he's almost there. Just a few seconds later, he lets out a grunt and aggressively pulls his dick out of your mouth. One hand grabs onto the hair on top of your head, pulling at it lightly, while the other finds its way to his shaft. He rubs it a few times.
"Put your tongue out, baby," he pants.
You obey, tongue out, and soon after his cum begins to fall into your mouth.
A number of fuck's and merde's roll of his tongue as he shoots the last of his cum into your mouth.
He lets go of the hair that he's grabbing onto and places it against the door so he can hold himself up right and recover from the pleasure you've just given him.
As he tries to get his breathing back to normal, you place a kiss against his lower stomach and stand up. You wrap your arms around him and kiss his cheek. He lifts his head slightly so you have easier access to his lips and they meet once more in a kiss. His tongue is in your mouth and he can feel the taste of his own cum against it.
Despite the fact that he's still recovering from his climax, Charles doesn't want to leave you unsatisfied for long and begins to fiddle with the zip on your leather skirt, with you assisting him along the way.
As your skirt falls to your ankles, you open your legs slightly so Charles' hand can find its rightful place between your legs again.
"I can't wait to fuck you," he whispers against your lips as he quickly moves your underwear to the side. He pushes a finger through your folds to find itself in a pool of wetness.
He's about to stick a finger inside of you when you both suddenly become distracted by someone calling your name from the other side of the door.
It's Whitney.
Your eyes are wide open out of shock and you feel your heart begin to pound at the idea of being caught in a very compromising position with another man that isn't your husband. Especially by your best friend who has no clue about your situation.
You look into Charles' eyes out of panic. He places a finger to his lips as a gesture for you to stay quiet.
"[Y/N], are you here?" Whitney calls out.
You don't answer. You cling onto Charles and place your head into his neck.
Whitney is about to call your name out again when you hear someone else out in the corridor. You hear Joris' faint but drunken voice. You can't make out what he's saying but whatever he said, it's enough for Whitney to walk away from Charles' door and back down to the commotion and party in the rest of the flat. Once you're sure that she's gone, you look up at Charles.
"They're going to find us here," you whisper.
Charles nods. "I know. But I still need you so badly".
You both pause, allowing yourselves to think of a place for you to continue this away from any wandering partygoers.

Will Winant (mr bungle, mondo cane) interview- talks Mike patton
http://www.rocktambulos.com/entrevista-william-winant/
First, William, you’ve been in Argentina on 2016 playing JOHN ZORN’s Cobra. Why did you choose to work with that piece?
Actually I came there to play some percussion works of John Zorn as well as Cobra. I premiered three percussion pieces, “The Nymphs”for solo bass marimba with percussion accompaniment, “Dark River” for four concert bass drums, and “Gri-Gri” solo for thirteen tuned drums. The second half of concert was Cobra.
I wanted to give the students from conservatory an insight to John’s writing for percussion, as well as the experience of playing his most influential gamepiece Cobra.
How can you describe the influence of JOHN ZORN in your own work? I know it’s a big question (laughs).
Zorn’s music was important for me on many levels. His game pieces was a whole new way to think about music and improvisation, both as a soloist, and with other musicians. Cobra was as groundbreaking a piece as Terry Riley’s “In C” was back in the early 60’s! His chamber music for me was always inventive, fresh and a creative challenge for me as a performer! Also Zorn’s working process in both rehearsals and recording was always very challenging and extremely rewarding both musically and creativally.
Last year you performed in different albums, in one of them, RICHARD PINHAS was one of the musicians you worked with. The spectrum of artists in that record was huge. What can you tell about that experience?
I was asked by the people at Stranded Records in Oakland to play an improvisation show with RICHARD PINHAS, and if I could  bring along some Lou Harrison micro tonal instruments to the gig. When Lou Harrison had passed I inherited his collection percussion instruments from around the world. This also included a bunch of homemade micro tonal metallaphones. Later the people at Stranded organized a recording session where I played some of Lou’s metallaphones along with other stuff, and Richard just inserted some of that material from session onto that recording.
Your works with Mike Patton goes back to the years of MR. BUNGLE and Pranzo Oltranzista (1997). But you became a stable member of MONDO CANE as a tour musician and you even make your arrangements for songs like “20. Km al Giorno”. What can you notice as a progress in working with Patton since Pranzoto MONDO CANE? How do you approach the compositions of 50’s and 60’s Italian songs?
First off most of the material I play for MONDO CANE is totally arranged and composed by Patton! There is some room for improvising within the context of the parts, but mainly I’m playing what Mike has written. Mike keeps growing as a composer, arranger,  and producer. His music represents a wide range of styles and genres, and he does it so convincingly and creatively!
How do you remember the South American tour with MONDO CANE in 2011?
The most fun I’ve had with laughing and incredible food!
You received many official recognitions and worked with the most talented musicians in XX and XXI centuries. The list is so huge that it would take forever. What are the works that you remember as the most significative in your career?
Too many to mention here, but working with Patton on various projects, my collaborations with Zorn, tours with Merce Cunningham, and my recent work with Roscoe Mitchell – ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO -, just to name a few.
Can you tell us on what are you working right now? How is your musical agenda for this 2018?
I have recordings coming out with Roscoe Mitchell, and Zeena Parkins, and the world premiere of a large ensemble piece with Myra Melford.

“Some Songs Need Words, Some Don’t.” An Interview With Wes Tirey
This interview originally appeared at North Country Primitive on 5th April 2015
Tumblr media
It’s not all about fingerstyle guitar here at North Country Primitive. We have a massive soft spot for a human voice - the more human the better - wrapped around a well crafted song; even more so when the singer tips a respectful, but far from obsequious, hat in the general direction of established folk tropes and traditions. Wes Tirey is quite simply one of the best songwriters we’ve come across in a long while: his music evokes the spectral presence of the Old, Weird America,  filtered through the prism of the more wayward of the folk troubadours of the early 60s. This is not to say his music is merely an exercise in nostalgia for the ghosts of folk past - Wes is a modern day fellow traveller rather than any kind of pastiche artist. And did we happen to mention that he’s also a rather excellent fingerstyle guitarist? Our thanks to Wes for taking the time to answer our questions.
Can you tell me about the journey that has taken you to where you are now as a singer and guitarist, both in terms of your own musical history and your influences?
These kind of questions are kind of hard to answer, because I think the influences that lead to doing something creative aren’t always creative ones. The musical stuff is obvious. I think I owe more to the Lone Ranger, Daniel Boone, and Davy Crockett being my heroes when I was a kid than discovering Bob Dylan and John Fahey. Playing baseball was influential. My mom reading to me and my sister was influential. Going to church with my Grandma was influential. Those are the kind of things that shape your conscience long before you start writing songs. For me, without them there’d be no songs.
I’ve been finding your lyrics a real joy to listen to. You seem to revel in using slightly archaic words and phrases – you also appear at times to make quite free use of the archetypal language and themes of folksong. If I’m not completely wide of the mark, is this a conscious approach on your part or is it simply how your songwriting turns out?
Thank you. I think it’s a little bit of both, really. Old Ohio Blues is based on the old folk song East Virginia Blues ––with some verses being lifted from it. But I’ve also been obsessed with that particular song for a long time now, and wouldn’t use words or images from it without being deliberate about it.
Other times, I think it’s just how it turns out. I like to be very deliberate about the words I use, but I feel like I’m not always in control––meaning, some things just eventually reveal themselves in a song after being buried in my mind for a while. At least I think that’s how it happens. It’s all kind of a mystery.
I think when I was younger that I’d be much quicker to answer a question about songwriting, because I thought I knew exactly what I was talking about––or could be precise about it all. I don’t think that’s the case anymore.
I wonder if there’s a particularly Southern sensibility to your language and themes? I’m sure I can hear echoes of the great Southern Gothic authors and their present day followers in your writing. Do you consider yourself as being influenced by this literary lineage? Or as a listener, am I simply been seduced by the fact that you appear to be a Southerner singing in his own voice and using the everyday language of the South?
To be clear, I’m not actually from the South. I was born and raised in Ohio and moved to Black Mountain, North Carolina, about four years ago. That said, both of my blood lines run to Kentucky and I do feel a natural affinity towards the South. I feel comfortable here.
Flannery O’Connor was a rather revelatory discovery, and I read her work to this day, still. I love the Southern Gothic aesthetic as a whole, but I’m not sure how exact the influence is. I don’t exactly recall those influences or find myself in the middle of engaging with them when I’m working on a song. I’m taken more by the imagery than the words, I’d say.
A song like Blue Ridge Mountain Blues could almost come straight out of the repertoire of a string band from the Old, Weird America, albeit filtered through the sensibilities of, say, the New Lost City Ramblers. Do you feel any great affinity with the American folk tradition? Is something like the Harry Smith Anthology any kind of touchstone for you?
I think the Harry Smith Anthology is the Alpha and Omega of American music, as far as I’m concerned. Other than Geeshie Wiley’s Last Kind Words Blues and the music of John Fahey, I’m not sure I’ve had a more rattling musical discovery.
As far as feeling an affinity with the tradition itself, I’m not sure. I think that it’s just the music that I internalise the most. It’s the stuff that sticks with me. I listen to a lot of other music other than stuff from the folk tradition––but I experience it much differently. I love Bitches Brew––but I don’t internalise it like I do with the music of someone like Roscoe Holcomb, for example.
I’m also picking up a certain sort of folk revival vibe from some of your songs. The Final Resting Place, for example, could have come from the pen of one of the better early 60s folk troubadours. Specifically, I’m put in mind of the more untamed, ploughing-their-own-furrow side of that movement – artists like Michael Hurley or The Holy Modal Rounders. Do you see these artists as part of your own musical hinterland?
Well, thank you for the kind words. I’d never dare put my name next to Michael Hurley’s!
I love Hurley’s songs. I listened to a lot of his music when I was writing O, Annihilator. I think there are songwriters that I feel a natural affinity towards, though––their aesthetic environment is just comfortable to be in. As far as being part of a movement, I don’t really have any concern for that. As soon as you start thinking about those things you’re distracted from writing songs.
There seems to be a sly humour in some of the songs, too. Brand New Cadillac, quite apart from borrowing the title of the rockabilly classic, puts me in mind of the sort of scenario Bill Callaghan might have set up when he was writing songs like Dress Sexy at my Funeral. Is there a deliberate twinkle in your eye when you’re writing songs like these, or is it more of an accidental humour?
Thank you for the kind words, again. Bill Callahan is a big hero of mine. I’ve been listening to his music all day today, actually. That’s interesting that you found humour in that song––might have something to do with the six-pack I bought before recording that night.
I can’t say there’s a deliberate twinkle in my eye when writing. For me, my songs are more or less all concerned with concepts that I take seriously. But I’m not always such a serious person. Most nights I’m at my apartment with my cat watching Bob’s Burgers––and I’m brutal when it comes to Cards Against Humanity.
I can’t help but be reminded of early Vic Chesnutt on some of your songs. Was he an influence on you? Or am I being blindsided by the occasionally similar phrasing?
Thank you––that’s a high compliment. I’m not very familiar with Vic Chesnutt’s music––but what I’ve heard has blown my mind. I need to explore his stuff more.
You seem to take a somewhat different approach to each release: to these ears, I Stood Among Trees seems at least in part to reference the 60s folk troubadours; O, Annihilator resonates with the sounds of the Old, Weird America; Home Recordings takes the American Primitive approach as a springboard for something more exploratory. Meanwhile some of the arrangements and settings on the new cassette, Journeyer / Forward, Melancholy Dream, appear to be more abstract and understated. Do you take a conscious decision to take a different approach with each album? And is it a deliberate decision to largely keep your song-based and your American Primitive-influenced material separate? Do you see yourself primarily as a songwriter who also releases some solo guitar stuff or vice-versa? Or are they simply two sides of who you are as a musician?
I don’t really have an “I’ve down this, now I need to do that” approach when it comes to writing. I think of things in terms of their whole aesthetic and how it relates to the concepts that the songs deal with.
As for the songwriter/solo guitar question, I think it’s more of the latter. Some songs need words, some don’t.
Your releases tend to be fairly lo-fi, stripped down affairs. Is this about aesthetics or necessity? If you were offered the chance to go into a top flight studio with a bunch of musicians, a gospel choir and a string section, would you go for it?
Man, I’d love to record with a gospel choir! I’d be so intimidated, though. The lo-fi approach is both an aesthetic and pragmatic decision. I like the sound of it all, and it’s always free to record at home. It’s also just more comfortable for me––I’m not on a clock and can be uninhibited. That said, I’m not opposed to recording in a studio. When I was younger and had a band, we recorded in some great studios, and I recorded I Stood Among Trees at an amazing studio in Asheville. Recording at a studio has its virtues, and recording at home has its virtues, too. I hope to do my next full-length in a studio with a bunch of great Asheville musicians.
There seems to be a pretty healthy outpouring of my kind of music in your part of North Carolina: people like Shane Parish, Tashi Dorji and Sarah Louise are also doing interesting things. Is there any kind of scene – shared concert bills, collaborations, mutual support, encouragement and friendship? Or are you all beavering away in your own silos?
Shane, Tashi, and Sarah are all exceptional musicians. I envy their talent so much and encourage everyone to explore their music. I’ve had the pleasure of sharing the stage with all three of them, and seeing them play live is nothing short of a beautiful experience.
What are you listening to at the moment? Any recommendations, old or new?
I snagged the new Jessica Pratt tape recently and think it’s beautiful. I also got the recent Loren Connors reissue of Airs and the LP Zachary Hay released under the name Green Glass. There’s a great cassette label out of the UK called Death Is Not The End Records, and I ordered some of their tapes––gospel/blues/spirituals stuff.
Recommendations: listen to Maharadja Sweets––tell your mother and father, sister and brother, neighbours, dogs and cats, all the fish in the sea. He’s the best. My pal Andrew Weathers makes beautiful music. Ohioan is my buddy Ryne Warner’s project, and it’s epic stuff. Scissor Tail Editions is my favorite label––Sarah’s new tape is gorgeous and the Scott Tuma reissue is so beautiful I can barely describe it.
What’s next for you? Do you have any future projects in the pipeline?
I got a lot coming up, actually. Some sound artists from Italy approached me about adding some improv bits to their new works. I’ll be adding some guitar work to a cool project that Maharadja Sweets is working on. I’m working on a short piece for a guitar compilation that Cabin Floor Esoterica will be releasing this summer. And this September I’m doing a weeklong residency at an artist retreat where I’ll start writing my next full-length album.
Is there anything I should have asked you but didn’t?
These questions were great! It’s been a pleasure.

Chapter Sixty-Three: Our Fifteen Minutes
[Hey everybody! Sorry for the really long wait within chapters, and the sort of confusing order- this chapter was written and published AFTER the last one was. A lot of stuff happened [spoiler] [basically I Beatrice and Lorne died, and Lucky literally became a ghost, but then get famous came out and I was literally horrified that Beatrice had died before getting to be in a hollywood chapter so I made a fake family, revived her, and got famous. Anyway, sorry for any confusion, onto the chapter!!]
Tumblr media
Dusty: “Gee, Lucky, I sure am worried about Taffy.”
Lucky: “I know! Ever since she got a crush on that Johnny guy, she’s been acting really different.”
Lucky: “I just wish she knew how cool she is when she’s being herself!”
Tumblr media
Taffy: “Hi guys…”
Lucky: “Not too cool to play with us anymore?”
Taffy sighed.
Tumblr media
Taffy: “I’m sorry I acted that way guys. Johnny...didn’t like me as much as I thought he did- I saw him kissing another girl after our beach date!”
They gasped.
Dusty: “Well, he’s stupid anyway.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Yeah! And we like you just the way you are, Taffy!”
Taffy: “Aw, you guys are the best! I’m so happy that the Aristocrat family sticks together!”
The sound of canned applause starts as Beatrice walks into the room.
Beatrice: “That’s right, kids, stick together, that way you always have a wingman to make you look good in front of strangers. Oop, Lorne, sweetie, my simsmapol- oh, thank you dear”
She said as a new drink appeared right in her hand.
The kids laugh.
Tumblr media
Beatrice: “Well, you look better, sweetheart. All that black makeup wasn’t doing anything for the bags under your eyes. Chin up!” She said, and sauntered away to the bar in the background.
Tumblr media
Actual Lucky: “Aaaand...Cut!”
*one week earlier*
Tumblr media
Lorne: “Breakfast! I made breakfast for everybody!”
The sound of groans and too many people for one house yawning sleepily down the stairs spreads out to the kitchen, where Lorne smiled and dished out the pancakes he made for everybody.
They all sat around the table, shoving elbows out of the way when they ate their food.
Tumblr media
Lorne: “So, what’s on the agenda for today?”
Beatrice: “You know none of us really...work….right?”
Lucky: “Hey! Courtney and I work, we run our own business!”
Tumblr media
Beatrice: “When was the last time you went to work.”
Lucky: “...”
Beatrice: “I’m not shaming you, sweetheart, I’m just stating a fact. Today, we are all going to lay in our respective beds, reading our respective magazines, and then take intermittent naps.”
Lucky: “And what would you rather do?”
Tumblr media
Beatrice groaned.
Beatrice: “Anything- “ She held up a hand to preemptively silence her husband “But going to work.”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “We could always volunteer as a family.”
Courtney was met with the iciest stare yet.
Courtney: “One day I’ll get you to do it.”
Beatrice: “But you’ve noticed it too, right, ever since this boring mr boring guy moved in, everything has been boring. I mean nothing fun has happened to us since my last awesome party.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “No. We are not throwing another party. It’s too much. Nobody ever shows up wearing the right thing and we have to stay there for days without sitting because nobody can stand still long enough to take pictures. Out of the question.
Beatrice: “Fun things used to just fall in our laps! The phone would ring and it would just be somebody telling us what awesome thing to do next!”
Tumblr media
Lucky’s phone started to ring.
Beatrice: “Oh thank god I wasn’t sure it would work that time! I wish I had a fancy hat!”
Tumblr media
Beatrice: “Oooh, this is fun, isn’t it?”
Tumblr media
Patty Alexander: “Lucky, how have you been?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Aunt Patty? It’s been good, how are you?”
Tumblr media
Patty Alexander: “No time for chit-chat, Lucky. I recently found a VHS tape, I watched it out of curiosity, and it was the pilot that your Glammother made for a reality show. It had been recut by my father, but the show never got any traction at the agency. I work at the agency now, and I think we could come up with a project based on you legendary family, don’t you agree?”
Lucky: “Um...yes?”
Patty Alexander: “Great, come up with ten ideas by tomorrow I will call you at exactly 8 am to talk about it.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “8 am? Really?”
Tumblr media
Patty Alexander: “Pleasure doing business with you.”
Day 1 of Production
Tumblr media
Chloe: “I can’t wait to be famous, guys!”
Pierce: “I don’t really think this is going to take off, what about you, Vivi?”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “If it doesn’t I’m going to drown in a sea of ennui. This is a chance to really let my creative prowess as an actress shine!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Okay, everybody, say hello to the cast. Let’s just stay cool about this, it’s just a little sitcom. I think if we keep it light and fun we’ll all come out of this ahead- yeah?”
Tumblr media
Lucky:Cherish will be playing my mom, Beatrice. My mother is not on set today, value this time, Cherish, it will be the last productive moment for you on this set.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Darren, you are my dad, Lorne. All you have to do is smile, agree with anything my mom says, and constantly be churning out drinks from the bar in the background. Do not stop even for a moment, even if the bar is completely covered in undrunk Bridgeports, you keep going.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Leslie is playing Glamma Astrid, uh...I dunno. Act ignored. Like you had a lot of potential and then no follow up. You’re Walt from Lost. I don’t have my step-grandpa in here, the casting fell through since I couldn’t find someone with as perfect a head of hair. Courtney- make a note to find a wig guy, and then find me a Roscoe.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Tessa is playing my older sister Taffy. She’s smart, lovesick, and a snitch. I want a cross between Rory Gilmore and the sister from Phineas and Ferb.”
Lucky: "My niece will be playing Three, the alien girl that we found in the woods. She’s not here today- we’re gonna film her when I’’m supposed to take her to the library next week, nobody tell her dad.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “And, of course, these are my three children, Chloe, Pierce, and Vivien. Chloe will be playing me, you’re the main character, you’re brother is missing, shenanigans ensue. You love dogs and antagonising people, you know the drill.”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Yes!”
Vivien: “But I thought I would play you!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Pierce you’re playing my brother Dusty. He’s kinda dorky, and then finds this alien girl in the woods and bonds with her. It’s cute.”
Pierce: “I think I can handle that.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “And lastly, Vivien, you will be playing my little brother Milo, who is kidnapped in the begining and then we find him later. Any questions?”
Vivien: “Wait- am I even in it?”
Lucky: “Um….yeah. Eventually. You’re gonna do great, cutie. Everybody read through the script and be ready to shoot the first scenes by tomorrow!”
Day 4 of Production
Tumblr media
Luchloe: “Quick! Hide! Mom is coming this way!”
Tumblr media
Fake Beatrice: “Hey cuties, gotta go do a video kiss kiss please subscribe!”
Fake Two: “She didn’t look up from her magic rectangle.”
Dusty Pierce: “Shh!”
Lucky: “Okay, I think she’s gone. Phew. For a second there I was really worried she would catch us and Strider and we’d have to take him back. Good boy!”
Tumblr media
Dusty: “Also the alien girl we found in the woods, Lucky.”
Lucky: “Yeah, but that’s a person, mom is definitely not going to notice some random kid in our house if she doesn’t make a mess. This is a good puppy!”
Tumblr media
Real Lucky: “Cut! Nice job, guys, let’s take 30 for lunch!”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “Mother. I’m going to have to insist that you switch my role with Chloe’s. I have ten times the acting chops she does! Not to mention how much I work drama into every day life!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Don’t worry, Vivien, nobody would ever forget about that.”
Chloe: “Hey, Vivi, wanna eat lunch?”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “No! I’m running lines, trying to prove that I’m actually serious about the business to my mother. Chloe, I swear, you getting to play our mom in the sitcom that she’s making about her childhood is the finest example of nepotism I have ever seen in my life.”
Chloe: “Didn’t we all kinda get hired because of nepotism, though?”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “Ugh! I’ll be in my trailer!”
Chloe: “No fair! Why does Vivien get a trailer!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Oh, no, honey, she just went to pout inside the puppet theater.”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “Hey, girls. I have the latest shots for you to look at, babe. Great take, Chloe, you’re a rockstar. Where’s your brother? Why are you rolling your eyes.”
Chloe: “Because he’s trying to talk to Tessa again.”
Lucky: “Oh, for god’s sake I told him….I’ll go handle it.”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “So, you know, just because we play brother and sister on this show, doesn’t mean we can’t date in real life.”
Tessa: “Oh my god, I didn’t even see you there. Did you need something?”
Pierce: “Yeah...you’re heart- hey!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Sorry, Tess. Won’t happen again! You did great today!”
Lucky: “Pierce, I told you to stop bothering the actresses.”
Pierce: “But we’re in love!”
Lucky: “No, you’re not. Keep dreamin, kid. She’s not into you. Okay, back on set in five, people!”
Tumblr media
Cherish: “Hey, yeah, I feel like my character is just like...a super bad mom? Can we do something about that in the script?”
Lucky: “These are all based on true stories. You’ve met her. She was on set yesterday, is it really that surprising?”
Cherish: “No, I get it, but, like, that magazine just released that story about me being, like, a really bad mom. And I don’t want people to take it the wrong way, y’know?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Um, use it in your performance. We have a schedule to stick to everybody! Two minutes!”
Day 6 of Production
Tumblr media
Vivien: “Mom! I need to talk to you!”
Lucky: “Sweetie, I love you, but I don’t have time to talk about your part right now. Right now I need to keep your Glamma away from the actors.
Tumblr media
Beatrice: “Why is she out of costume. Lucky, you’re the director, do something.”
Lucky: “Fine. Excuse me, Cherish? Yeah, my mom wants to know why you’re not wearing the costume.”
Tumblr media
Cherish: “I think my character would wear this. I have a rockin’ bod, if I have to dress conservatively, I’m gonna do the bare minimum.”
Lucky: “You’ve really….taken to your character, haven’t you? Keep the dress, honestly, if I wasn’t constantly lowering her hemlines she’d have put that on already.”
Beatrice: “You’re the one that keeps adding fabric to the bottom of this dress? Lucky! It’s practically down to my knees!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Good, you’re too old to be wearing clothes like that mom. Cherish- you look fine, Mom, you also  look fine in exactly what you’re wearing.”
Beatrice: “I could still pull it off! I’ll show you!”
Lucky: “I’m not looking forward to how that turns out. But maybe she’ll do it off set. Hopefully.”
Tumblr media
Lorne: “No, you idiot, you don’t shake it like that, you shake it like this.”
Darren: “Isn’t that what I’m doing?”
Lorne: “No, and, ugh, what are you wearing?”
Tumblr media
Darren: “The costume notes just said to dress up like Willy Wonka’s brother that runs a flavored vodka factory.”
Lorne: “Gosh, y’know, Lucky is just the sweetest daughter, isn’t she? Keep it, it’s fine, but I expect you to keep up the color, alright? Navy blue. It’s a brand.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Hey, you kids doing ok? Pierce, great job out there, looking silent and quiet and waiting for your turn to speak. Very Dusty, I love it.”
Vivien: “Mom- why can’t I play you? I’m not even in it and I have to play you’re kidnapped little brother? This stinks! I’m a ferrari, you don’t keep a ferrari in the garage and roll out a barbie jeep and a tricycle.”
Chloe: “We can hear you.”
Vivien: “I’m speaking from the heart of an actress, Chloe, you wouldn’t understand.”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “We’re all child actors, dude, chill out.”
Lucky: “I’m afraid I’m going to have to side with mini me, cutie. Chill out a little, Milo is a great part.”
Vivien: “Milo now would a great part.”
Lucky: “I really hope you have no idea what you’re saying, keep reading through your lines, I’m gonna watch the last runthrough. Love you!”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “You know, if I was your boyfriend, I would never kiss another girl.”
Tumblr media
Kelly: “Excuse me?”
Pierce: “I mean...I….bye….”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “I couldn’t do it. I tried, but she’s too pretty. I was blinded by blonde.”
Chloe: “You know that she’s playing your sister, right?”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “I know. She’s not my sister, though.”
Viviens: “You two are barbarians, I’m going to read lines.”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Nerd!”
Pierce: “Teacher’s pet!”
Chloe & Pierce: “Nice.”
Day 9 of Production
Tumblr media
Lucky: “This is no good.”
Courtney: “Why not? What’s wrong with it?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “It’s not saying anything. We’re talking about self esteem here, this is real gritty stuff! We could change lives, Courtney.”
Courtney: “I mean, it’s a sitcom we made starring our own untalented children. I don’t think expectations are going to be that high.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Courtney, Courtney, Courtney,”
Courtney: “Yes?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Courtney, Courtney, Courtney, Courtney, Courtney,”
Courtney: “Please stop saying my name like that.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “We’re making art here, baby. Expectations are higher than they’ve ever been.”
Courtney: “Um…”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Let’s take it from the top, guys, and remember, the words are raw, and gritty. E M O T I O N A L, do you hear me people? She’s changing who she is for a man is that acceptable?!”
A non committal murmur of ‘no’ calls out from the cast.
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Yeah. This is serious. TAKE IT FROM THE TOP!”

Chlucke: It’s okay, Taffy! We like you just the way you are!”
Lucky: “Cut!”
Chloe: “What’s wrong?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Baby, you have to think about the stakes here, your sister is heartbroken, she’s lost her whole identity, she’s on the verge of collapse, you need to feel this.”
Tumblr media
Actual Taffy: “I thought it was fine. I mean, it was just a crush. I wore that dress with the storm clouds on it for a couple of days but-”
Lucky: “Taffy,”
Courtney: “Oh no.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Taffy, taffy, taffy, taffy.”
Taffy: “Yes?”
Lucky: “I remember this. I saw the pain in your eyes. Johnny was the love of your life, and he threw you away like garbage.”
Tumblr media
Taffy: “He still works at the movie theater so I think it’s fine. I’m married and happy. I have two kids that you didn’t cast in you’re show- thanks for that, by the way. What’s gotten into you, Lucky?”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “I can do it mom! I can deliver the line with vivacity.”
Chloe: “She’s been waiting to use that one.”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “You! Taffy! Don’t lose yourself in the sea of the unwashed masses! You shall rise above them! Walk among the stars as the women you are and will become!”
Pierce: “Yeah...that…”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “That’s pretty good. Lucky, do that.”
Vivien: “But it was my monologue!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “I know, but it wouldn’t make sense coming from you, you’re still kidnapped.”
Vivien: “No fair!”
Lucky: “Honey, you’re not in this shot.
Day 11 of Production
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Pierce, I do not want to go back in there.”
Pierce: “Me neither. Maybe if we just hide in here she’ll just recast us and let us go home.”
Chloe: “Is she being crazy? It seems like she’s literally gone crazy.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Where are the children!? I need them! For my art!”
Chloe: “Oh no. She’s gonna make us do the heart to heart scene again, I know it.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Vivien, where’s your brother and sister? You’re on today.”
Vivien: “I am?! Really?”
Vivien: “CHLOE! PIERCE! You’d better get out here now or I will cyberbully you forever!”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “She’s gonna find us eventually.”
Pierce: “Maybe if we stay here, mom will let her play our roles.”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “Found them! Saboteurs!”
---
Tumblr media
Luchloe: “I sure am glad you’re home, Milo! I can’t believe we found you!”
Tumblr media
Milovien: “Happy that I’m home?! Is that all you have to say? Since you’ve abandoned me to the wills of a madman in an underground bunker? I may be shy,”
Tumblr media
Milo: “I may be talented in a quiet way- but that does not mean that I do not have something to say! Hear me, brother and sister! For I don’t know if I can forgive your indifference in my heart, and I know for sure, that I will never forget it. But ho-”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Cut!”
Vivien: “What’d you think, mom?”
Chloe: “Here we go.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “It….was…..exhillerating. We’re gonna win an oscar for this, guys.”
Chloe: “I don’t think they give out oscars for single-camera sitcoms, Mom.”
Lucky: “Vivien, you and I will create art. Baby,  we’re going to hollywood!”
Day 15 of Production
Tumblr media
I live for my art
I breathe for my art
Tumblr media
I live for my art.
If I can just get the hug at the end right. I know.
I just know.
I can make a difference.
Day 22 of Production
Tumblr media
Lucky: “From the top!”
Chloe: “Mom, there’s only so many times we can hug. We’ve been doing this for days.”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “She said from the top, Chloe! We have to do this right!”
Chloe: “Why though? I just wanna go hoooome!”
Vivien: “Mother? Permission to slap an actress.”
Lucky: “What? No, Vivien. But you do have to take it from the top! Take two hundred and eighteen!”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “You know, Luck, I think we’ve got it.”
Lucky: “We don’t have it.”
Courtney: “Maybe take a break and do some other scenes? Or let everybody go home? I’m sure that we got it and-”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Are you questioning my vision, Courtney?”
Courtney: “Um...no?”
Lucky: “Good. Because if you were questioning it, then I would have to fire you.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “I’d fire all of you if I could! I’ll star in the show myself! Me and Vivien- my only talented daughter, who isn’t afraid to commit to something!”
Vivien: “Yeah!”
Lucky: “So if all of you want to quit! Fine! Quit!’
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Is that an option?”
Lucky: “Only if you think you can live with yourself, Chloe.”
Chloe: “I mean….yeah. I quit. Right guys?”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “Yup.”
Everybody: “Yeah, bye”
Day 27 of Production
Tumblr media
Courtney: “Hey...Lucky?”
Lucky: “What do you want, traitor?”
Courtney: “Well, you’ve been sitting here at an editing table in the middle of an empty warehouse set in the dark for 5 days.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “The show is due in 2 days, and since everybody abandoned me, I had to to do it myself.”
Courtney: “Nobody abandoned you, Lucky. You just got a little crazy. Plus, we did film all the scenes from the original script. The only ones we didn’t do are those really rambly meta ones you added later. I think if you stick with what we thought of at first, then you’d see that we made something pretty cool.”
Lucky: “I don’t know if I can do it- cut apart my vision…….”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “Do you want my help?”
Lucky: “..........Yes please.”
Premiere Day
Tumblr media
Chloe: “This is so exciting!”
Vivien: “We’re gonna be on tv!”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “Lucky, you gonna join us?”
Lucky: “Oh… I don’t know if that’s such a good idea. I know I ruined everybodys tv experience by getting too in my head about it. I was in an art spiral, there’s no excuse. I’ll just go watch it upstairs by myself so I don’t bother anybody…”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Mom! Come watch with us!”
Pierce: “Yeah, we’re not mad.”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “You had a celebrity meltdown. Very chic.”
Beatrice: “I’m with Vivien- an epic meltdown is a very Beatrice move. I’m proud of you!”
Lucky: “So...we’re all a happy family again?”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “A big happy family that’s about to watch itself on tv for the first time! C’mon, it’s starting!”

January 2019 To March 2019 Amazon Reviews Online Amazon Reviews Updated Thursday January 17 2019 Part Two Reviews Initiated on Wednesday January 16 2019 and Posted by Thursday January 17 2019 Reviews started sometime after 7 pm and completed by 1059 pm Wednesday January 16 2019 before doing slight grammar andor spelling fixes/updates/word updates etc.
A Kindlebook For People of Various Backgrounds/Walks of LifeI admit that one of the reasons for my interest in this kindlebook that is titled Making The Most of Your Veterans Affairs (VA) Home Loan Benefits ; An Active Duty Service Member and Veterans Guide To Home Ownership by David E Nelson Jr.  is because of my intent to do what I legally can to be eligible to purchase a home with my husband by the year 2025 andor sooner that we both can reside in/live in for the rest of our current earth lifetimes. Fortunately both he and I have yet to use our VA loans and this kindlebook helped give some ideas on how the VA loan works in regards to particular home buying plans. This kindlebook is also good for a potential home buyers of various backgrounds, occupations,  and ages even if you have yet to be near a military base because various issues on home buying are addressed that could appeal to many people buying homes regardless of their background that include;  short sales and info on working with real estate agents/realtors in regards to checking how long they expect to work with you, why you want to doublecheck with ideally the same loan officer on certain matters even when working with multiple real estate agents in the way addressed in the kindlebook, the author’s explanation on why you want to ideally still at least google search for a realtor even when there is temptation to rely on online real estate listings, Veteran’s Affairs Home Loan Buyer’s checklist and more.  This kindlebook was well worth the purchase for me to better inform myself and share some of the details with my husband for both present and future reference.
Heartwarming
This kindlebook that is The Team; A Mother’s Wisdom From The Other Side Book 1 by Teddy and Frances Key and Oscar Senn as the illustrator has heartfelt information. Areas that are touched on include forgiveness, a person’s spiritual team, eureka moments that appear out of the blue and much more. I also came away with more insight with the way the writings on the power of thought and visualizations are much more powerful in a person than they may realize regardless of who they are, their level of self confidence etc. I feel blessed in both my personal and professional life with a loving and open minded husband who is understanding of my unconventional spiritual beliefs. However, I admit that the deaths of both my adoptive parents even though they occurred 15 years apart has me sometimes unintentionally wondering/thinking about how they are doing even though I have faith that both of them went to a world/worlds of whatever they consider their version of heaven. This kindlebook helps remind me that is more than normal and understandable to wonder about one’s late family members from time to time  (regardless of how long ago they passed)with the way the matriarch of the family is discussed in this kindlebook who passed away around the age of 86.
Multiple Chefs/Places ReferencedThis book that is Chef’s Night Out; From Four-Star Restaurants To Neighborhood Favorites; 100 Top Chefs Tell You Where (And How) To Enjoy America’s Best by Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page has a mix of various types of restaurants that use to be open or are still open this year that include; El Bulli in Spain (mentioned on pages 18 to 19 online Wikipedia listed them open from 1964 to 2017), a chef who was referenced in connection with the Inn At Little Washington in Virginia (on page 41), a section of various restaurants affiliated with Los Angeles California that starts on page 112 that also reference Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles across multiple locations on page 113, pages 149 to 208 reference places and chefs pertaining to New York,  Washington DC Area restaurants and chefs are referenced from pages 279 to 293, and more.
I confess that I finally had the chance to catch up with watching the remaining episodes of Season 5 Last Ship this week. The finale of the Last Ship Season 5 did wrap up creatively and with much emotion and suspense. The ending especially the remaining 15 to 20 minutes definitely also took me by surprise in a wow way especially because it touches on spiritual/afterlife themes in a creative fiction way (I must leave it at that for those who still have yet to see season 5 of the Last Ship), I still stand by my sentiment that I hope that a movie is eventually released of the Last Ship with as much of the original actors actresses that can feature in the film as possible (I say as possible) only because I understand it would be too much of a stretch to feature all due to what occurred with a multiple number of the characters.  I definitely intend to order the complete Last Ship dvd set sometime this year and I am glad to have originally been introduced to the Last Ship tv series from an advertisement that I had seen in an Entertainment Weekly magazine issue sometime around June 2014. The following is my Last Ship Season 5 Review from September 19, 2018 a person could still be a novice to this show and enjoy The Last Ship. However I would still recommend at least watching Season 4 if possible time andor moneywise before viewing Season 5 to further understand the workings behind a multiple number of the actors and actresses who feature in Last Ship Season 5. I have to admit that I found it a very novel idea on how one of the characters on the villain side was written to have had a connection with Disney.
A Phenomenal Season Start
September 19, 2018
Already with the Last Ship Season 5 there are a multiple number of heartstring tugging and keep the viewer in suspenseful type of scenes that definitely have me looking forward to more episodes in this season. I am fortunate to have been introduced to the Last Ship television series back in June 2014 via an advertisement in Entertainment Weekly magazine. While still being considerate to those novices/new to the Last Ship tv series I feel compelled to share that multiple locations of military bases are featured even though the USS Nathan James is based in Norfolk Virginia. These listed locations obviously become essential andor vital in some way to being part of the puzzle piece of the season 5 Last Ship beginning 2 episodes. I do feel that it was definitely worth purchasing the whole season from my pocket yet I do wonder out of curiosity if more details can be featured why this season’s antagonist feels so strongly about America. As an American born woman who was adopted by 2 of my late adoptive parents who were also American even I understand some of the reasons why a person from other areas outside of the U.S. would be far from patriotic. I prefer to avoid harping further about culture out of respect for many people in my personal andor professional/career/employment life who I have interacted with that are from other countries outside of the U.S. However, I wonder and am curious if by episode 5 more is going to be revealed on why the main antagonist feels the way they do about America. Of course, the addition/feature of other actors/actresses for this season; Eric Dane, Adam Baldwin, Charles Parnell, Kevin Michael Martin, Bridget Regan, Jocko Sims, Bren Foster, Jodie Smith, Christina Elmore, Marissa Neitling, Travis Van Winkle, Ben Cho, Michael Dorsano, Maximiliano Hernandez, Fay Masterson, Adam Irigoyen, and more. Of course, I was a little surprised how the conclusion of each of the two episodes unfolded and I am eager to see the rest of the Last Ship season 5.
Abundance Profiles
I’m intuitively and logically aware how blessed I am in both my personal and working life and what also helps is that my husband is ultra supportive of my career, spiritual and money goals. I admit from a place of curiosity of striving to understand what creates an abundance mindset influenced my purchase of this kindlebook that is titled Instant Millionaires The Secret of Overnight Success by Max Gunther. The real life accounts in this kindlebook include; an advertising employee who hit a goldmine through candy, a family man who became rich through a boardgame, a  woman who unexpectedly came into great prosperity from using the outlet of her fiction writing as a hobby/something to do, a stock market millionaire, a cereal millionaire, a woman who became a millionaire through her dressmaking, and more. I am fortunate to have purchased this Akashic Who’s Who of Psychic Mediums Healers and More by Victoria Lynn Weston via Amazon on December 14 2014 and to have reviewed it on January 9 2015. I’m intuitively and logically aware that it is important to learn to use and consistently strengthen my own logical, intuitive and imaginative/creative faculties/talents and to be wise and reasonable on how often I consult in a psychic. I admit that the last time I got a psychic reading was in 2017 though I do intend to eventually have another reading again by the end of this year andor sooner. I feel fortunate to know about the existence of certain books to help me understand andor get an idea on how various psychics live and believe. I now realize that I am responsible for creating my reality both the challenging and pleasant parts of my life. However, even with me being logically and intuitively aware of how I may be perceived, the researcher and investigator in me wants to keep track of how I have wrote and thought from both the past and present in order for me to better understand my true and braver self for both present and future reference. Detailed Glossary of Multiple Psychics/Spiritual LightworkersJanuary 9, 2015I have to properly credit psychic elizabeth joyce for finding out about this book that is titled akashic who’s who of psychics, mediums, and healers by Victoria lynn Weston. This is because I was researching if the book psychic attack are you a victim by Elizabeth joyce was right for me. I felt a strong psychic impression when she referenced this book and now I understand why I felt intuitively guided to get Akashic who’s who of psychics, mediums, healers, and more by Victoria lynn Weston. The difference between a psychic and a medium (starts on page 113), each person is asked their take on what they see may happen in the year 2020 and any books that they recommend such as on pages 34-35 and 196-197. There are also some resources listed in the back of the book and information on the author (pages 331-337). The positive takeaway that I got from akashic whos who of psychics, mediums, and healers by Victoria lynn Weston is how it is important to consistently have faith and ask for heaven’s help in a more skilled way in channeling inner power that will grow and reinforce that belief that life is going to turn out for the brighter and more charmed (filled with the fruits of good luck/good fortune/good karma) regardless of what others may say and/or current external circumstances. Descendants movie review-fortunately I originally got the chance to review the first Descendants film on January 10 2016 sometime after watching the film and I noticed that I obviously reviewed over the first review sometime in 2017 or 2018
Perfect Film To Watch If You Enjoy the Ever After High or Cartoon Book Series
Original amazon review written on January 10 2016-archived from my stellacarrier googleplus blog via the stellacarrier googleplus online blog section of Stella Carrier online reviews and purchases for creative analysis Fantasy Movie Good For Either Those Who Simply Want to Just Watch the Film and/or Aspiring WritersJanuary 10 2016The Disney Descendants Movie centers around the characters who are torn between following what they want or following the legacy of their parents. I immediately recognized Kristin Chenoweth in the Descendants movie (due to being previously familiar with her work portraying a public relations specialist in 12 Men of Christmas). There are also other actresses and actors in this film that also contribute heavily to the film and the viewer gets introduced to both the parents as well as the kids that are grappling with whether to follow their parents. The kids also deal with themes of fitting in. Due to the fantasy genre slant, this Descendants film is also good for those who like the Ever After High cartoon series. Revised and edited review in either 2017 or 2018January 10 2016I admit that I got the idea to watch the first Disney Descendants film after unexpectedly catching the tail end of the Descendants 2 film less than 4 hours ago and deciding by one of the dragon scenes of this film to check out the first Descendants.Additionally, curiosity influenced me enough to watch it as both an aspiring writer for plot ideas on connecting this series to Ever After High and simply just to watch it as a fantasy type film with a happy ending. The Descendants film involves a plot where Ben (Mitchell Hope) successfully convinces his parents who are now queen and king of the land of Auradon Belle (Keegan Connor Tracy) and Beast (Dan Payne) to allow the following children into Auradon Prep School;Mal (Dove Cameron) daughter of Malificent (Kristin Chenoweth has featured in such films as 12 Men of Christmas, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure), Evie (Sofia Carson) daughter of the Evil Queen (Kathy Najimy),Carlos (Cameron Boyce) son of Cruella de Vil (Wendy Raquel Robinson), and Jay (Booboo Stewart) son of Jaffar (Maz Jobrani). Of course, there are multiple actors and actresses who also play crucial roles into the plot. From what I see, the Descendants film sends a healthy and positive (maybe even spiritual message) that it is possible for a person to create their own happy reality that is different from what may be expected of them depending on their parental andor family background. Obviously, this lesson could still be inclusive depending on whether what type of background a person came from. The children of the villains do adjust to life really well at Auradon Prep school and even enjoy themselves. This Descendants film is also good if you enjoy musical movies as there are song performances in the film. I may be in the minority saying this, yet I do feel that the writers of the Ever After High Series and the Descendants films could maybe get together and collaborate (as there are creative parallels in a beneficial way with some of the plot points while each of the series maintains its own originality). I also know for sure that I intend to eventually purchase both Disney Descendants films. Might Appeal To Some Ever After High Fans andor Animated TV Show FansThe animated cartoon tv series that is Descendants Wicked World has plot and cartoon elements that touch upon friendship, magic, and enjoying life. The messages and the unique plot elements and colorful sequences might interest some viewers of the Ever After High Series because that series also touches on themes of friendship and adventures in storybook type of worlds.
A Good Continuation From the First Descendants FilmThis film that is Descendants 2 definitely has a strong flow of continuation of events from the first Disney Descendants film. There is great contrast shown with the first Descendants film  where some of the characters that came from another place were treated better and shown a warmer welcome a sense of belonging compared to the first film. I would prefer to say to pay attention to the theme of a certain kind of book referenced in the second film as this is important to a significant part of the plot development. I admit that I had seen the first Descendants film in early 2016 by January 2016 and I am glad to have finally seen the second Descendants film because a multiple number of the actors and actresses gave much energy and animated emotion to their parts (on both the good guy and villain sides). This film is definitely worth a try to watch if you enjoyed the first film and you might like this film as a novice if you are an eclectic Disney movie viewer.
Prolific Restaurant Features
I admit that I unexpected spotted this magazine that is From The Food Critics of US Weekly; 100 Best Restaurants in America (listed for a recommendation to display until 3/1/19) from a CVS store less than 3 miles from where my husband and I currently live. Some of the following places/names referenced in this magazine; Restaurant Guy Savoy in Las Vegas Nevada (page 16), La Super Rica Taqueria in Santa Barbara California on page 17, Uchi in Austin Texas on page 27, The Inn at Little Washington and Maydan referenced on pages 45 to 46 for Washington DC,ABC Cocina in New York New York on page 52, Arethusa al Tavolo in Bantam Connecticut on page 53, Anthony Bourdain’s Top 20 starts on pages 68 to 69, a listing of the 150 under $25 The Best Cheap Eats in Your State on page 69, a section on 25 Recipes from Top Chefs pages 70 to 95, and more.

Right Blend of Apple and Honey ScentsThis Bath & Body Works brand of 8 ounces Champagne Apple & Honey Lotion (24 hour Ultra Shea Body Cream) has a terrific blend of the fruity scent of the apple balancing the honey fragrance in a lotion that is soothing to my skin. I got this lotion from a Bath and Body Works location in Virginia that was having an annual sale on a number of their products.
Classic
This Bath & Body Works brand of  8 ounces lotion that is Japanese Cherry Blossom (24 hour Ultra Shea Body Cream) has a pleasant flowery scent. I am fortunate to have known about this fragrance since around 2006/2007 when my husband and I noticed the Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom lotion and body sprays being sold at a Bath & Body Works location in Florida where my husband and I lived at the time. Bought For
This one pound 4 ounce (20 ounces)bag of  double stuff oreos definitely has a fair mix of the classic chocolate cookie flavor paired with the smooth filling. The Nabisco Oreo brand has been one of my husband’s favorite cookies for a while, and I admit to my husband being a significant influence on why I purchased these cookies.

“Some Songs Need Words, Some Don’t.” An Interview With Wes Tirey
This interview originally appeared at North Country Primitive on 5th April 2015
It's not all about fingerstyle guitar here at North Country Primitive. We have a massive soft spot for a human voice - the more human the better - wrapped around a well crafted song; even more so when the singer tips a respectful, but far from obsequious, hat in the general direction of established folk tropes and traditions. Wes Tirey is quite simply one of the best songwriters we've come across in a long while: his music evokes the spectral presence of the Old, Weird America,  filtered through the prism of the more wayward of the folk troubadours of the early 60s. This is not to say his music is merely an exercise in nostalgia for the ghosts of folk past - Wes is a modern day fellow traveller rather than any kind of pastiche artist. And did we happen to mention that he's also a rather excellent fingerstyle guitarist?
I wonder if there's a particularly Southern sensibility to your language and themes? I'm sure I can hear echoes of the great Southern Gothic authors and their present day followers in your writing.
