The cliche mandatory pokemon crossover PT 1
Tumblr media
They're starting their journey at Eden Academy to be the very best !!
The kids, thier "types," and their starting Pokémon
Anya (psychic type duh) - Slowpoke, Becky (fire type) - Vulpix, Damian (Water type) - Magikarp, Emile (Normal type) - Swinub, Ewen (Grass type) - Snivy
After a dumb convo with my friend about how there always has to be a mandatory pokemon au in a fandom, we started thinking more about it and suddenly we have this convoluted mess of a crack plot:
Ok so at first I commented how I think Slowpoke is literally Anya as a pokemon and you can't prove to me otherwise and then we thought well why not make Anya a literally pokemon lmao. So she still has her telepathic psychic powers and it happened because the scientists were part of the experimental groups of radicals who wanted to transform pokemon into humans, especially since theres canonatical evidence humans can turn into pokemon, why not the other way around and so yk who else is pink, has psychic powers, and has cat ears: Mew. So they did thier experiments, one of the mews got turned and boom Anya, she still escapes and gets adopted by Loid who still works for WISE and their goal is still to get intel on Donovan who plans on starting a war using high level pokemons as soldiers and is using the prestiges Eden Academy to recruit people. (Intermission: Loid has a Psyduck b/c cmon thats comedy gold, both of them are just bundles of anxiety, just imagine them going on missions)
Tumblr media
Anyways so to get into Eden Academy, you must come with your own pokemon and much like in a Nuzlocke, in order to get perfect trainers, theres a rule that if their starting pokemon faints, they will receive a tonitrus bolt and if they get 8 of those, they are kicked out from the academy abd they wont be allowed to use that pokemon anymore. The pokemon has to be a first evolution and they are not allowed to change, so its highly advised they pick wisely. Now imagine Loid's horror when Anya Immediately. Picks. Fucking. Slowpoke. Of course, in Anya's mind, she can read his mind to see how omniscient he actually is however she rashly forgets how dopey he is on the outside. Luckily Anya can read enough minds of her opponents to just barely scrape by in Eden. And from there on their journey begins! (Though we also created a side story for why Damian has a magikarp that i'll post in a separate post just cause its absolutely crack with another one explaining other things in this dumb universe and some explanations for the pokemons for each character, though forgive me if I get some lore wrong, I loosely basing this off my pokemon knowledge I remember with some research)

Bit last night by b-[bugs] yet slept well goodish motion after none yesterday obliged to mend my black petticoat a little - Down stairs to breakfast at 10 - breakfast in about ½ hour till 10 ¾ from about 10 ¾ to 1 ¾ wrote out the journal of yesterday - from 1 ¾ to 2 35/60 wrote out itinerary of yesterday and settled my accounts - great deal of rain fell during last night and early this morning - perpetual showers all the day - very heavy showers from 2 20/60 for ¼ hour - cleaned my [tables] went out at 3 ¼ - to the cathedral, close here - in castle street - afternoon service just began - never heard anyone read in so hurried and careless a manner and so ill as the senior minor-canon - only ½ the service chaunted - the minor-canons cannot chaunt the 4th and 5th verse of the 4th or 5th psalm sung as an anthem - very short - good organ - built 14 or 15 years ago - 1 of the boys has a good voice the service over at 4 40/60 -
Saw the cathedral - of the abbey and cloisters merely a few arches and bits of walls remaining walled up in the gardens or into the houses of the prebendaries along the other side of the cathedral - the ground here raised several feet - this part still called the abbey - entered by a castle like private gate opening into abbey street and shut by the deans and prebendaries at night - a prebend worth about £500 a year and deanery worth about £1000 a year - the deanery house an old battlemented goodish house but archdeacon Paley’s an old small indifferent house the brick addition built by him having a front of a door and 5 windows must have been necessary -
The choir of the cathedral built by Mr Rufus, perfect and handsome - its side-aisles quite plain - no old monuments - merely a few plain neat modern ones - 1 ditto for archdeacon Paley put up by his 2nd son - none during the lifetime of his eldest son nor even any inscription on the gravestone till it was done by a sister of the archdeacon’s from Yorkshire - the transept shabby - the south end paving given way a little on both sides on account of the weight of the great tower put on over the centre - great bare wall where the entrance to the nave should be, reminding one of the ruined Scotch churches in fact the nave (built before the conquest) all but 2 arches on each side, was destroyed by Cromwell, who built 3 grand houses in the town of the materials - 1 in the middle of the town (still standing) and 1 at each gate - the 2 gates and guard houses all swept away - these small part of the nave now serves as a parish church very large thick, round columns (something like those at Gloucester) 2 with very little wrought capitals and 2 with capitals not wrought at all saxon arches quite rude unornamented in any way -
Henry 1 erected this into a bishops seat - the old part of the nave, built of white imperishable stone - all the rest of red sandstone and worn away like that Chester Cathedral - the clerk who shewed me round remembered Archdeacon P-[aley]’s 1st wife Miss Hewitt, and her mother who was then with another person the only one in Carlisle who sold spirits by retail - Mrs P-[aley]’s sister married Mr Hudson (he called him) (Hodgson father of Miss H-[udson] I have met at Lightcliffe) a manufacturer of Dolstone (4 or 5 miles from here near the bishops palace) who was the 1st who introduced the cotton business here and would have done well but laid out too much money in building and was besides taken by a banker here who ruined himself and he died of a broken heart leaving very little behind him - Miss Grisdale now at Lowther castle - always goes while the family comes down - her father Dr G-[risdale] of the free grammar school - her father an inn keeper at Maryfort - he once expected to have been bishop of Carlisle thro’ the Lousdale interest - left his 3 daughters very little - 2 of them comfortably married and Lord Lousdale does not forget Miss G-[risdale] Dr G-[risdal] every warm in politics for the Lowthers - when Broughan was thrown out for Westmoreland, it was in fact a struggle between the Thanet and Lowther interest - the clerk not having the keys of the chapter house did not see it, as he said it was merely a large plain room, gothic roof, but lately done up - he shewed me Miss G-[risdale]’s small house (shut up) as we walked down castle street then pointed to the castle an left me -
Went to the castle - large pile of building - 3 great towers - a very large area walled in it within it modern erections for barracks and all the old buildings turned into barracks, armory, and storerooms - 4 companies of the 80th foot there and 8 artillerymen from the headquarters at Neurcastle - Col. Ross of the artillery commands the garrison - find view from the flagstaff tower - it was in this tower that Queen Mary was - stood a little while for the view over the town and country - too thick to see very far into the country - look on to the smooth race course and close to it the fine white stone 5 arch-bridge we passed last night over the Eden - 4 or 5 made up small arches and 1 open arch raise the road over the low ground as far as to the town - then walked all round under the castle wall and went and stood up the 3 arched red sandstone bridge (Caldew Bridge) over the rapid Caldew -
Then turned up and walked all round the sort of rampart wall round the outside of the town to the new jail - 1 of the turn keys shewed me over it - made no notes, for he wrongly told me these were the plans and an account of it published - Nixon, and Barber was it? architects - cost £50,000 - just finished - magnificent building - off red sandstone - very high wall encloses the whole - [HF] ½ round the foot of the wall (within) nice kitchen garden - calls for fellows male and female - ditto for debtors - ditto ditto for house of correction prison - hospital rooms - water closet to each ward - 2 condemned cells for men and 2 ditto for women and water closets belonging to them - hospital kitchen - general kitchen - laundry - wash house - work shops and every possible place that can be useful - goaler’s house in the middle - hexagon? the ground floor 26 smallish rooms - 2nd floor chapel and 22 rooms - the 3rd floor same as ground floor - goaler’s house so built for gentleman debtors to have separate rooms - iron balcony round the 2nd floor of goaler’s house with staircases from the 3?different divisions of the prison (3 divisions? i.e. felons, debtors, and house of correction prisoners) - as little wood used as possible - iron roofing - principal mullions of goaler’s house windows iron so that in case of fire as the light wood frame might be burnt - all the floor joists iron? all the prison rooms stone-arched above and below - hinges iron plate reservoir from Greenwich into that the treadmill (10 people will keep it going) to pump water to supply the prison and the whole town - the men on the treadmill 10 minutes then rest 5 minutes from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. everyday - saw 10 upon the wheel - 30 or more might work at a time - a young soldier of the 80th in the house of correction for getting a girl with child - the commanding officer cannot resist his being imprisoned till some agreement is made with the parish officers -
Then went to the court - the crown end in large round tower (battlemented - all the whole building battlemented and castle-like) in the same pile of building with the prison (above the workshops &c joining to the tower is the platform for hanging people) - handsome court room but seems rather small - on the opposite side the street is another handsome tower and pile of battlemented building is the [?] [?] court same plan and size as the crown court - at or round the end of the court is a small crescent of neat sand brick houses called (in the plan of the town court crescent and [?] row) citadel and leading to it is Lowther street - Lord Lousdale’s picturesque in a magnificent gilt frame is to ornament the grand jury room (large handsome plain rather Gothic room - very neat Gothic oak ceiling - good mod? - plain square compartments at top - the cornice being small drops as in Henry 7th chapel) Lawyers room - witnesses ditto - every possible convenience - near to the prison is the Bush Inn or Holmes’s hotel in English street the 1st Inn in the town and 2nd is that where I am, the Crown and Mitre, close to Castle Street - In returning down English street from the prison to the market cross (a column on high large ? with 3 steps round the bottom of it) went down Fisher Street, passed thro’ the Shambles - got some how into Finkle street and up Castle street home and came in at 6 25/60 English street and Castle street - good, handsome streets - the last census (the clerk told me, 16,000 - but now the population 200,000) -
Dinner at 6 ½ - afterwards will 9 wrote the above of today - vide line 4 of today the weather - very heavy thunder shower at 3 40/60 (while I was in the cathedral) and 3 or 4 loud peals of thunder and saw a flash or 2 of lightning - fair after this and fine evening - no box come at 5 this afternoon - the waiter says it cannot come till 10 ½ p.m. by the Independent coach -at 9 a military band playing past the window for a few minutes cherry ripe - somehow this tune (played on board the steamer as the L-[awton]’s?, and I sailed from Liverpool for the Menai bridge) always soothes me to melancholy  - then settled accounts of the evening - and went to my room at 9 50/60 - sprinkled my bed with vinegar and rubbed over with it my face, neck, hands, arms and unluckily eyes - a little got in, smarted exceedingly and produced a great degree of inflammation that particularly in the right there was a mass of sort of moving jelly that completely enveloped the bloodshot eye - I had just got into wishing rather to have been bit by a hundred than taken such a remedy against them - when the box was announced - in despair to find they had sent the wrong one - desired boots to take me an inside place in the Independent at 3 ½ in the morning to go back to Dumfries in search of my box - got into bed again - could not sleep - afraid of not being awakened in time - called for a light - eight..

Shore Leave
The environmental readouts were nominal numbers, indicating no toxins to be found within the vicinity of Yaath, the fourth most resource-intensive restaurant within the Hades Gamma quadrant. The atrium of the spired, glistening silver purple architecture folded in a stock fourth-dimensional pattern, oscillating in between different frequencies of time, showing little hints of the space the building held, would hold, and had held, in a kaleidoscope designed by minds long forgotten to the records of The Federation Alliance. Bustling about hurriedly were many different servers, some multi-limbed, others non-humanoid, bio-mechanical, and others literally Servers, as the place was newly networked to work with any standard UniCom, making ordering a dish from the far spiral end of the galaxy as simple as thinking of it. The glittering spires, the permanent UV adjusted sun, held aloft in a permanent stasis of cold fusion, providing light but no warmth, was the proudest display of bio-diversity and hospitality in a quadrant unknown for its tolerance. The breeze simulated; it blew itself across many dining tables in the Simu-Deck, rustling the antique paper napkins on the table of an engineer, and a First Officer having dinner.
"It's multi-dimensional. A kind of temporal-spatially electrified version of what they might call obsidian on Ancient Earth. Even though there are no igneous minerals involved. I guess it's kind of a nebular quartz that appears only here in this quadrant? I've always wanted to see it." The Engineer said, wrapping their eating utensils in the paper napkins, like they'd seen in old Terran records.
"It's beautiful." Said The First Officer, placing one hand on the table, the other reaching for her glass.
"I always thought about coming here, but as a reward. Not really as a before kind of thing."
"It's shore leave. We have to have shore somewhere." The First Officer touched her UniCom, and closed her eyes. "What are you getting, honey?"
"More wine."
"It is shore leave!" The Engineer touched their UniCom, and thought about a delicious bowl of grated Zyxtium, a favorite edible mineral from adolescence.
In a flash their UniComs sent their thoughts through the networked airwaves reaching the chefs inside, whose concoctions crafted aromas that permeated throughout Yaath and into the simu-outdoor deck, the false sun beaming down on a bright, perfectly crafted blue-silver sky, that shined the constellations from your home solar system, based on your UniCom preferences. The Engineer recognized Cassiopeia, and Kolara, and C#11408-B, from their studies at Academy. The Engineer had no constellations from their own solar system, being wiped out in The Third Dirge.
"What are you thinking about, love?"
"The Future."
"Mmm." The Engineer reached for the drone delivering the food and drinks.
"It's going to be...Even more than we previously expected. It's looking like a lot more."
"That's why we plan. That's why we know that this next system is important. Uncharted new worlds are always terrifying."
"The problem is always difficult. How do we make our presence unknown to Class 5 civilizations anymore? Is this the right way even? I don't know sometimes." The First Officer looked wistfully at the projected shifting spires, the ones that reminded her of the mountains from Eden Prime. The clouds shifted into a shape not entirely unlike an elephant, then just as quickly disapparated.
"Careful. You know that Captain Kass has a plan. Why do you think we were even given shore leave? I'm sure she's on an away mission getting some vital part needed to chart this new system safely and securely."
"I'm not losing faith in our Captain, I just feel so restless. So emotional and distraught. I know on some level, intellectually I'm worth it, worth having this title, this uniform, and working directly alongside the Captain is like, trying to..."
"...Trying to describe magnetism to an organic infant."
"Quaint! But sure!" The First Officer laughed.
"I know what you mean. The few times I've been on the bridge I've felt it. That powerful sense of energy, of confidence, of love and care."
"Yes, The Captain exudes it with all her being, and it's like nobody else notices it? Or takes it for granted that She'll Figure It All Out At The End, and whenever I tell people that I worry for her, that I worry for the crew, for the ship itself, everyone thinks I'm doubting. That there's some criticism or judgment I'm making."
"When the truth is only the opposite."
"Yes!"
The Engineer drank their wine in a single gulp, while taking bites of algae-loaf, each mouth taking care to breathe in between chews and swallows. A drone wizzed by, playing a simple midi-tune, with a screen that flashed CONTINUE PLAYING??? ONLY 2 CREDITS! The First Officer touched her UniCom and thought it away. The Engineer thought it back, and bought four extra tunes to play.
"I don't doubt the Captain's plan. I know that this is our best chance really. I know it's all thought out and safe but... Whenever we enter a new system, it's the Captain who's the most vulnerable you know? They represent us all. They live and die on it."
"I've calibrated the stealth systems religiously for the last fourteen rels. I promise you, they're primed and absolutely our best chance at all of this going peacefully and promisingly."
"I know."
"I don't work next to her, but I admire the Captain endlessly. I just need you to know that even though you worry about her, I'm sure she's considered you in the full equation of things too, you know?"
"Yeah." The First Officer gazed into her glass of wine.
It reflected her augmented irises, which asked her for approval to analyze the alcohol content of her beverage. She canceled the prompt with a blink.
The Spires shifted and spun. For a second, flames burst from within them, showing a day in the future when Yaath may catch fire, or a day in the past when it did. It burned now too. The sky shifted to a super-intelligent shade of neon purple. It began to sing. The midi-drones chimed in.

The Engineer looked at The First Officer, who leaned back in her seat, sipping her glass. She listened to the skysong, and closed her eyes. She looked beautiful, and around her glowed an aura only visible on a spectrum human eyes couldn't see. The Engineer noted to paint or draw it for her one day, as there were no words to fully describe it in her language.
"You shine when you talk about The Captain you know."
"I know, you've told me before."
"It's just very bright!"
"It is?"
"It is."
"Do you remember the first time we met?"
"It was at Academy wasn't it?"
"No, I mean, when we met met."
"Oh."
"Yeah. That was a dark time, I know."
"No it's okay, I don't mind talking about it with you. You're the only one who I can really even talk about it with."
"I think about it all the time."
"What? Why!?"
"Because even though The Agamemnon was a nightmare, it was when we made it out, and when we got into that escape pod together, and that we even made it out of that place, before that madness began to take everyone."
"I don't know. I never want to think about the things I saw that day. The things Primrose did to the crew. To himself. To you..."
The Engineer held their biomechanical hand up to The First Officer's cheek. They wiped away a tear from her eye, taking her temperature, feeling her heartbeat, her mineral and nutritional readouts, the compositions of all the chemicals inside of her, they could feel the raised levels of cortisol, adrenaline and salinity dilution, probably from excess rehydrating.
"I can raise your serotonin levels, babe, if you want?"
"No, thanks though. I'd rather do it the old fashioned way." With that, The First Officer finished her wine, and leaned across the dining table, pulling The Engineer close.
They kissed.
"I'll never forget it, my love. When I saw you in that hallway, those radiation vents cooking you. The way you moved. The way you helped Augustine until the very last moment. Before they were cooked in that thing. Before you were cooked in that thing! And how I wondered and doubted and had so many doubts and mixed feelings about being a Second Officer, and every single time I think about it I think about how you deserved that credit. That is was you and your strength, and your capacity to withstand things mere humans cannot. That there's no way I would've been able to to do the same for you. I felt so small and weak and scared. I remember feeling so trapped and knowing Primrose was coming specifically for me, and the whole Artifact was just a goose chase for him to get us locked into that course into the gas giant. I want to forget about it all but I just can't, and even though I'm so afraid and embarrassed I'm still happy that I survived! That I made it out and with my sanity intact. That we both did together. No matter how many recommendations I put forward, no matter how much I suggested you get this promotion, because I  outrank you, they gave me the credit. It's nonsense! It's an injustice and it isn't right! I can't even think about how much you gave to be here, to have me be here, and I think about how you're still an engineer, and how you deserve to be on the bridge with me, by the Captain's side!"
"Oh, sweetheart. You know I'd love nothing more than that, but I'm an engineer. They need me down in the depths of the ship. They need my solutions. My expertise."
"I know. You're so amazingly smart. I can't even imagine."
"I can show you if you like?"
"You're always full of surprises. Of course!" The First Officer chuckled through tears.
The Engineer reached their hand, interweaving their seven organic digits with the fingers of The First Officer. Their hands clasped together, The Engineer closed their eyes, and touched their UniCom, activating a homemade program they had been working on in between missions, just for this occasion, on one of the few planned allotments of shore leave before venturing into the uncharted Darkspace. The program began to run, and the bio-mechanical parts of The Engineer began to whirr and flicker as the information was channeled into bio-electric energy, synced up to their UniComs, united their minds in a singular vision.
They stood alone, surrounded in off grey to white. They faced each other.
Before them was a great blue sea, a vast archipelago, each floating with all manner of glorious things, some with foods from all over the universe, others with media handpicked from thousands of FedAlliance cultures, others with activities in abundance, and all within a thought's distance away. The Engineer showed how it worked, and reached down into the island, picking it up with their hand and expanding it into full scale. They were now on a beach. The sand crunched under their feet.
"I don't think sand is supposed to crunch like that!" The First Officer joked, cracking a mischevious smile. The tears fading from her face, indistinguishable from the work of the program or not.
"I'll get the hang of it eventually."
"I know you will. I can't believe you made all this yourself! This is incredible!"
"What's really incredible? Is how much time it took to get the time flux equations right. I dunno how they do it here in Hades Gamma, fourth-dimensional thinking is tough even for me."
"Time Flux? Like a dilation?"
"Yeah, but mentally induced through my biomechanics."
The Engineer reached down and expanded a small island onto the top of a table that was thought into existence.
"Here, try this."
The Engineer handed The First Officer a square that had a picture of a laser sword on it. She placed it into her mouth and saw a saga told in nine parts immediately as if she had lived it herself. Every struggle, every hope and dying wish of an ancient republic from an impossibly long time ago, and the battles made in its last dying days, and the violent but inevitable reclamation of that republic from the empire that conquered it. She watched them all grow, and die, and begin again. It was lifetimes.
"End program." The Engineer said.
The First Officer shook her head and looked up at The Engineer, who was smiling.
"Did you like it? All of that only took two minutes in Terran time. I know we've got a long way to go after this leave, and that the next mission is vital but deeply uncertain. And I just wanted to make something so that we'd have time. That's what the program is really. It's time. For us. We can see and do all the things we've wanted to in there, and it's only a fraction of the time out here."
The First Officer smiled.
"Then let's stay here."
"I want to, but I'm scared."
"You don't need to be. We're all going to be okay. You've convinced me of that now."
"It's not that I mean, I didn't even do anything!"
"You know you don't have to. You just do. By being here."
"Even though I'm not actually there, there?" Said The Engineer, with heavy hearts.
"But you are. And you will be. And you always have been."
"I love you. I cannot wait for us to be on mission together again."
"I love you too. The bottom deck feels so far away from you, even though we're still on the same ship, we're thousands of miles away from each other."
"Do you think we'll get to see each other in atmo before shore leave ends?"
"Maybe."
The Engineer got a red alert on their diagnostics screen, telling them a fusion coupling had come undone or corroded. It was the kind of problem that required manual maintenance.
"Oh no!" The Engineer cried, giving away the seriousness of their dismay.
"Go save it. Go do it, darling." Said The First Officer, knowing exactly how this played out.
"I'm not! I don't want to leave you! But if I don't look into this well..."
"Go ahead, darling. Do what you do. Save the decks. Keep the engines burning so I can guide us on the bridge. Keep us safe. And stay alive!"
"I'll try!" The Engineer said with a wink and a kiss.
"I love you."
"I love you so much."
Then The Engineer faded away in a flicker. Like a telemetry signal suddenly dropping off the spectrum. Their form leaving behind the unprojected canvas The Engineer was occupying, revealing the food, bowls, and utensils were actually unused the entire time. A side effect of Yaath's 1-1 Hard Light projection tech.
The Engineer closed their UniCom connection to Yaath. They leaned back into their chair and began to upload their program before making their way to the fusion couplers, both mouths smiling wide.
The First Officer sat at the dining table, and a midi-drone buzzed nearby. She thought at it, making it play a song she had heard The Engineer humming one day, while fixing a manifold. It was soft and sweet, and had a few harsh notes that made the melody blend with the way the sky sang, a newer tune, one that rose and shined with lucid hope, and the suns setting behind the spires, now showing a thousand different lifetimes celebrating a moment, whether it was a birthday, or a victory, or a New Cycle, or an end to a long, hard-fought war. But they were happy, and they were smiling, and The First Officer took solace in that for them, their past times were forever here.
She leaned back, and a drone refilled her glass of wine. It asked:
"Do you feel better? A standard Yaathian greeting. Hospitality planet and all.
"Yes." She said. "I'm feeling much better. Much."
She sighed, but lovingly.

Neymar returning to Spain would be an ego trip by Barca or Real. PLUS: Chelsea exposed at Man United
It’s back! After a summer of international soccer, Gab Marcotti returns with his weekly column reflecting on the big talking points. It’s the first edition of Monday Musings for the 2019-20 season.
Jump to: Is Neymar really on the move? | Man United vs. Chelsea | Juve’s squad issues | Stop complaining about VAR | Are Man City deep enough? | Bayern get their winger
The latest on Neymar’s transfer saga
So now it’s apparently just a question of making the numbers work. PSG sporting director Leonardo confirmed that the club are in talks to sell Neymar, with Real Madrid and (possibly) Barcelona the likeliest destinations. But when you put a $210m Euro price tag on a guy, it’s far from straightforward. Particularly since whoever signs Neymar will also be on the hook for some $300m+ in wages over the next five years.
The depressing thing here is that this seems to be driven more by ego than footballing logic on all sides. Sure, Neymar is a hugely talented player and, possibly, still one of the heirs apparent to the Cristiano Ronaldo/Messi duopoly. But Barcelona have just added Antoine Griezmann to a front line that includes Messi and Luis Suarez (not to mention Ousmane Dembele). Real Madrid have just spent $110m on Eden Hazard and have big plans for Vinicius and Rodrygo, plus Marco Asensio won’t be injured in perpetuity. (And that’s before we get into Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where does he fit at either club, except as a an ego-trip and commercial roll of the dice?
The answer is he doesn’t. Signing Neymar would require a dismantling of the team that has been built (and, presumably, planned, though with Real Madrid you’re never quite sure how much planning is involved). And is his contribution, especially at that price, big enough to justify tearing up the blueprint?
I’d suggest the answer is a resounding “no,” not to mention the numbers. I know some treat Financial Fair Play as a joke but hey, it’s real and it’s still around. Barcelona can’t find a few extra million to land Matthijs De Ligt but they can commit half a billion to bring back Neymar, the guy who left so he could write his own story away from Messi’s shadow? Really?
Real Madrid, already stuck with two guys (Bale and James) whom they’re struggling to sell because of the absurdly onerous contracts they gave them, happily go and lavish another mega-deal on a guy who started less than half of his league games at PSG in the past two years? You sure?
Tumblr media
Neymar’s time at PSG has failed to live up to expectations but it’s not stopped Spain’s two biggest clubs from trying to get him back in La Liga. Why?
It’s a sign of the modern game, and the way big clubs are straitjacketed by massive contracts, that if this deal happens, it won’t be a cash deal. The only way it works is by throwing in makeweights, which is why you’re likely to hear plenty of talk of Philippe Coutinho or Nelson Semedo, or James or Isco going the other way. Sticking a player in as part exchange not only saves you cash, but it allows for some neat accounting slight of hand because you can put almost whatever valuation you like on him and then let the magic of amortisation do the rest.
Stay tuned.
There’s also the distinct possibility that he doesn’t move at all, which would mean that sanity prevailed. Thomas Tuchel hinted at it after Sunday’s Ligue 1 opener for PSG. Of course, if he stays it will be curious to see what the reaction of the PSG fans will be. On Sunday night, during the 3-0 win over Nimes (Neymar was nowhere to be seen), he was invited — via banners and chanting — to get the hell out of the club.
Will it be the sort of thing that gets forgotten after a few good performances and some winning runs? You hope not, but you fear yes, just as you hope that if Florentino Perez or Josep Bartomeu break the bank one more time for this guy, they will be held to account.
There’s nothing wrong with spending big if you think you have the right guy: Kylian Mbappe is Exhibit A, B and C here. But to do it out of ego, in the waning weeks of the transfer window, while ripping up the script, smacks of irresponsibility. This is a good time as any to remind Florentino and Bartomeu that they don’t own their clubs. They are presidents with a responsibility for stewardship.
Breaking down Man United vs. Chelsea
Frank Lampard is playing with house money this season. As one of the more analytical and reflective football men out there, you could picture him in the summer playing the scenario game.
Best (realistic) case?
The combination of youngsters, loan diaspora and holdovers coalesce around his brand of football (which, lest we forget, is far closer to his predecessor’s than any Chelsea manager since Andre Villas Boas), Chelsea break into the top three, go deep in the Champions League and he gets a big, fat transfer budget next summer.
– Ogden: Pulisic must hit ground running at Chelsea
Worst (realistic) case? The kids’ inexperience costs Chelsea dear, the likes of Mason Mount, Reece James and Tammy Abraham offer further evidence of the gulf between the Premier League and the Football League, there’s a massive Eden Hazard-shaped hole that Christian Pulisic can’t come close to filling and they slip down the table, missing out on the Europa League.
But guess what? Between the transfer ban, the Hazard departure and the fact that he finally tapped into Chelsea’s vaunted Academy, there are enough mitigating circumstances there that he gets a pass. And he has another go in 2020-21, except with a full year of Premier League experience under his belt and a chance to actually acquire players next summer.
Tumblr media
Frank Lampard, left, and Chelsea have a lot of work to do following Sunday’s heavy defeat at Man United. That said, it’s not all smooth sailing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, right, either.
It’s worth bearing all of this in mind when evaluating Chelsea this season, in particular the opening 4-0 smackdown at Old Trafford. Despite leaving N’Golo Kante (who was unfit) on the bench and being without Antonio Rudiger, not to mention the long-term injuries to Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi, they hit the woodwork twice and looked bright and sharp on the ball for most of the first half. But Kurt Zouma‘s sloppy tackle gave United a penalty, which Marcus Rashford converted, and as the saying goes, goals change games.
United were able to play on the counter and they did it very well, though, again the second and third goals were the result of individual errors by Cesar Azpilicueta (not something you can chalk up to youthful inexperience) and the fourth was a deflected effort to crown a fast break that began with Zouma on his back and Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire asking the referee to stop the game for what they thought was a head injury.
In other words, a healthy dose of misfortune, individual errors and happenstance, though that doesn’t gloss over the fact that there is plenty of work for Lampard and Chelsea to do. The individual blunders loomed large but there was also a serious lack of balance in the side, which isn’t surprising when it’s the first game of the season and more than half your starting XI were either elsewhere or on the bench last season.
As for United, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire hit the ground running and gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the perfect platform upon which to counter-attack. For all the venom he gets from some quarters, Paul Pogba popped up with two assists (one of them, as delightful as you’re likely to see this weekend). And yes: when it comes to flat-out pace, United have plenty.
The test, of course, will come later, as Jose Mourinho (not that he has an axe to grind or anything) pointed out on TV: what happens when they face teams who park the bus? Speedy strikers are great if they have space in which to run but when the opposition sit deep, you need either creativity (that’s on you, Paul) or the physicality to punch it in (and both big Belgians are gone).
That’s where Solskjaer will earn his bacon and in that sense, he faces a far more daunting task — at least as far as 2019-20 is concerned — than Lampard.
Can Juve resolve squad issues before it’s too late?
It’s rare that you get a manager speaking with the sort of honesty we heard from Maurizio Sarri over the weekend, when he admitted Juventus need to shift six players between now and the end of the transfer window or risk having to cut them from their Champions League squad. A lot of the focus has been driven by the transfer window, with speculation about the likes of Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and/or Mario Mandzukic moving or, in midfield, Sami Khedira or Blaise Matuidi. But there ought to be a bigger concern: how did we get here?
Juventus can count and they knew that because they have just one homegrown player in the squad, perpetual third keeper Marco Pinsoglio, they can only register 22 players. So what kind of planning is it to find yourself in mid-August being forced to give guys away?
This situation is aggravated by the fact that most of the players they want to shift are older and with hefty contracts. What’s more, with the Premier League window closed, there are only so many potential destinations and there won’t be any late-August panic buys from mid-table English sides.
It’s pretty basic stuff. You hope that sporting director Fabio Paratici has some sort of plan up his sleeve, one that won’t cost the club too much money. Otherwise, for all his success in landing the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Adrien Rabbit and Aaron Ramsey, he will have dropped the ball big time.
Enough complaining about VAR already!
There were no VAR screw-ups in its first weekend of Premier League life. Of course, this doesn’t mean there was no controversy, mainly because — despite the fact that it has been around for nearly three seasons and fans, players and media would have seen it in the World Cup, Champions League knockouts and FA Cup — some observers seemed to act as if they were seeing it for the first time (witness the Raheem Sterling offside) and others seemed unaware of the changes to the Laws of the Game that came into effect on June 1 (Philippe Dendoncker’s disallowed goal in Wolves’ win over Leicester).
– VAR in the Premier League: Big decisions explained
My colleague Dale Johnson has written about this at length if you want to go granular but put in its simplest form: offside is offside and it doesn’t matter how close it is. It’s frustrating to have to repeat this. And while, I’ll grant you, offside VAR is more of a by-product of why video replay was brought in to begin with (which was to correct major, aka clear and obvious, errors), the fact that we have the technology to apply it to offside calls more accurately than human assistants means there’s no reason not to use it.
Tumblr media
Whatever you think of the margin of error that exists at the junction of frame velocity, human velocity and the brains of VAR operators, it surely is more accurate than a sprinting linesman asked to look in two directions at once while determining the exact moment boot strikes ball.
I’ve heard some suggestions that it would be better to only use VAR on blatant offside errors. OK, fine. So how do you judge what is blatant? And, while we’re at it, when it’s that close, even the very best human assistant referees are left to guess. With no VAR, Sterling might have been flagged offside or he might not. It would have been a coin flip.
Does that really sound more reasonable?
The Wolves incident actually has nothing to do with VAR but simply with a rule change that came into effect on June 1. If you handle the ball, even accidentally, and then gain an advantage from it that allows you to score a goal, that goal gets disallowed. Why? Because IFAB figured it’s against the spirit of the game to score with the help of an arm or hand and they want to standardize officiating, with more consistency. Making refs decide on the spot what is accidental and what is not when a goal is scored is, according to them, unnecessary. Which sounds reasonable enough, though it was somewhat jarring for Wolves fans on Sunday.
In the Dendoncker goal, the Belgian midfielder struck a ball that hit his teammate, Willie Boly on the arm. It was clearly accidental and had it just rolled away, everything would have been fine. But the ball sat up for Dendoncker to hit cleanly into the back of the net, and that’s why it was disallowed.
Would the goal have stood if there had been no VAR? Not unless the referee didn’t see the ball hit Boly’s arm. In which case, it’s a good thing there is VAR.
There will undoubtedly be mistakes and blunders, either with the VAR protocol or technology or implementation this season. But Week One went smoothly and whatever “controversy” arose feels mostly down to folks needing something to talk about.
Once the VAR novelty wears off, hopefully by the start of September, we can all move on.
Is Man City’s squad deep enough?
Manchester City raced out to a resounding 5-0 victory at West Ham in week one of the Premier League season and most have them as favourites to three-peat as champions. Rightly so, perhaps, but you wonder if they aren’t a little bit thinner than you’d like them to be in central defence.
In central defence, Vincent Kompany is gone and, effectively, City’s fourth central defender is Eliaquim Mangala, who hasn’t actually played at all in 18 months (and was nothing to write home about before that) and won’t be stopped from leaving should the right offer appear. Nicolas Otamendi is a year older and coming off a Copa America. John Stones had a poor season last year. He may bounce back, he may not.
The next option, presumably, is dropping Fernandinho into defense, but he’s 34 and has had injuries. Plus, if he’s at the back, he’s not in defensive midfield, which leaves only Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan (whose injury record isn’t great) in the middle of the park.
You can only assume Guardiola has a ton of faith in some of the teenagers populating the development squad, like Eric Garcia and Joel Latibeaudiere. Otherwise, a rough patch of injuries and suspensions could cost them dear.
Bayern get their man (and it’s not Sane)
Having missed out on Leroy Sane, Bayern seem set for a band-aid solution to the wing by bringing in Ivan Perisic from Inter on loan. If the reported numbers are correct — $5m loan fee, plus a $25m option to buy — it’s a cheap-and-cheerful way of adding some experience and quality in a guy who already knows the Bundesliga well.
It may be one of those rare moves that helps all those concerned.
Perisic wasn’t part of Antonio Conte’s plans at Inter and from their perspective, getting his wages off the bill and a little bit of money back makes sense. He’s been frighteningly inconsistent but has his moments and perhaps Bayern, a far more stable club than Inter, can ensure he gets some continuity to his performances. He ought to his seize this opportunity with both hands, because this is what you call landing on your feet after falling off a skyscraper.
As for Bayern, if he performs the way he did most of last season, no biggie: they can just send him back in the summer.

The Sprite of Prosperity
Don’t expect to decrease at any age Increase is on the calendar!
Day 1
The Lord Shall Increase You More and More
Psalm 115:12-16 The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless, He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless those who fear and worship the Lord with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder, Both the small and the great. May the Lord give you great increase, You and your children. May you be blessed of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, But the earth He has given to the children of men.
We Must Become “Increase-Minded”
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world any longer with its superficial values and customs, but be transformed and progressively changed as you mature spiritually by the renewing of your mind focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes, so that you may prove for yourselves what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect in His plan and purpose for you.
FORGET NOT— THAT’S WHAT WILL DELIVER US FROM THE CURSE!
Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, super cial cus- toms], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
Meditate on increase scriptures
Deuteronomy 16:15 Seven days you shall celebrate a feast to the Lord your God in the place which the Lord chooses, because the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful.
Psalm 85:12 Indeed, the Lord will give what is good, And our land will yield its produce.
1 Corinthians 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God all the while was causing the growth.
Faith for The Spirit of Increase comes by hearing and hearing by the Word on increase.
We will spend 10 days renewing our minds to walking daily in supernatural increase.
Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who bears our burden day by day, The God who is our salvation! Selah.
HIS BENEFITS DON’T COME FROM A GOVERNMENT, THEY’RE HIS. WE’RE TIED TO HIS BENEFITS.
Day 2
INCREASE: GOD’S PLAN FOR MAN
God’s Original Plan
Genesis 1:26-28 Then God said, “Let Us Father, Son, Holy Spirit make man in Our image, according to Our likeness not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them granting them certain authority and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it putting it under your power; and rule over dominate the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
When God rested he did after He created man. It was to bless him.
His original intent for mankind was that they should be blessed and increase in every area of their lives.
Multiply = Increase
God’s original plan for man was to demonstrate The Spirit of Increase by replicating the Garden of Eden all over the universe.
God’s Plan for Man
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them granting them certain authority and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it putting it under your power; and rule over dominate the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
Blessed = Empowered to prosper and increase, as a result of having God’s favor bestowed on your life
Blessed = Continually walking in The Spirit of Increase, in spite of the conditions
Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord brings true riches, And He adds no sorrow to it for it comes as a blessing from God.
The Spirit of Increase was perpetual.
God’s plan to increase man continued in spite of Adam’s high treason in the Garden.
Genesis 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.
(To Abraham) Genesis 12:2 And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you abundantly, And make your name great exalted, distinguished; And you shall be a blessing a source of great good to others;
THERE ARE ENORMOUS BENEFITS FROM BEING SAVED. GET SAVED AS SOON AS YOU CAN!
And if ye be Christian’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
The Spirit of Increase that was upon Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon and up through Jesus, is upon us today.
Jesus came and broke the curse of poverty and lack over mankind Galatians 3:13-14 Christ purchased our freedom and redeemed us from the curse of the Law and its condemnation by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs crucified on a tree cross”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might also come to the Gentiles, so that we would all receive the realization of the promise of the Holy Spirit through faith.
He redeemed us from that curse and put us in position:
To walk in the same blessing To walk in the same increase To walk in the same favor
We should be walking in a greater degree of The Spirit of Increase because our covenant is a better covenant, founded upon better promises.
Hebrews 8:6 But as it is, Christ has acquired a priestly ministry which is more excellent than the old Levitical priestly ministry, for He is the Mediator Arbiter of a better covenant uniting God and man, which has been enacted and rests on better promises.
God’s plan was and is for us to cultivate the Garden of Eden everywhere we go. Isaiah 51:1-3 “Listen to Me, you who pursue righteousness right standing with God, Who seek and inquire of the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were cut And to the excavation of the quarry from which you were dug. “Look to Abraham your father And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; For I called him when he was but one, Then I blessed him and made him many.” For the Lord will comfort Zion in her captivity; He will comfort all her ruins. And He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness will be found in her, Thanksgiving and the voice of a melody.
Genesis 26:12-13 Then Isaac planted seed in that land as a farmer and reaped in the same year a hundred times as much as he had planted, and the Lord blessed and favored him. And the man Isaac became great and gained more and more until he became very wealthy and extremely distinguished;
Day 3
INCREASE EVERYWHERE
Increase in Every Area of Life
3 John 2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].
Don’t limit increase to money. The Spirit of Increase covers everything.
2 Peter 1:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through [a]true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
Footnotes:
2 Peter 1:3 There is no “secret knowledge” or “better way” or alternative belief system which God has revealed to some unique group or teacher. The truth is available to everyone.
Deuteronomy 29:9Amplified Bible (AMP)
9 So keep the words of this covenant and obey them, so that you may prosper and be successful in everything that you do.
Abraham increased in every area of his life.
Genesis 24:1Amplified Bible (AMP)
A Bride for Isaac
24 Now Abraham was old, [well] advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.
Spiritual increase
1 Peter 2:2Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 like newborn babies [you should] long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may be nurtured and grow in respect to salvation [its ultimate fulfillment],
We are to increase in spiritual maturity
Soul increase
Our minds renewed to God’s Word Our wills conformed to God’s will Our emotions controlled by God’s Spirit
Physical increase
Psalm 103:3Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 Who forgives all your sins, Who heals all your diseases;
Proverbs 9:11Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 For by me (wisdom from God) your days will be multiplied, And years of life shall be increased.
Isaiah 40:29Amplified Bible (AMP)
29 He gives strength to the weary, And to him who has no might He increases power.
Financial Increase
Proverbs 11:24-25Amplified Bible (AMP)
24 There is the one who [generously] scatters [abroad], and yet increases all the more; And there is the one who withholds what is justly due, but it results only in want and poverty.
25 The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown].
1. AMPC: “There are those who [generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more than is fitting or what is justly due, but it results only in want. The liberal person shall be enriched, and he who waters shall himself be watered.”
2. “So we know that we should increase spiritually, mentally, and physically. And God also expects as you serve Him and as you put His Word first place in your life, that there should be signs of financial increase.” Increase God’s Way
3. “For you to never experience financial increase in your walk with God is a violation of spiritual laws.” Increase God’s Way
4. Financial increase includes:
a. All bills paid
b. Debt freedom
c. Much left over
2 Corinthians 9:10Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing [that is, your resources] and increase the harvest of your righteousness [which shows itself in active goodness, kindness, and love].
Day 4
HE WILL INCREASE US MORE AND MORE
Psalm 115:12-14Amplified Bible (AMP)
12 The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless, He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.
13 He will bless those who fear and worship the Lord [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder], Both the small and the great.
14 May the Lord give you [great] increase, You and your children.
A. Verse 12—The Lord has been mindful of us.
1. Psalm 8:4 (NKJV): “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?”
2. We are on God’s mind all the time.
3. He is thinking about how He can increase us, provide for us and grant us the very desires of our hearts.
B. Verses 12-13—The Lord has been mindful of us: He will bless us.
1. He is thinking about how He can bless us and, “do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]”
Ephesians 3:20 Amplified Bible (AMP) 20 Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us,
2. He is thinking, How can I bless them? How can I increase them? How can I manifest My favor on their behalf?
3. To bless us is to empower us to prosper and increase.
C. Verse 13— He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.
1. Take note of how many times the word bless is used.
2. “The repetition of the word ‘bless’ shows that where God has once bestowed His favor, He continues it. His blessing delights to visit the same house often and to abide where it once lodged.”
3. “It is God’s nature to bless. It is His prerogative to bless. It is His glory to bless. And it is His delight to bless. Blessing us over and over and with more and more will not impoverish God.”
D. Verse 14—The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
1. Increase = Exceed, grow, continue to add over and above.
2. Augment = Make something greater by adding to it
a. To supplement
b. To enlarge, expand and multiply
3. Psalm 115:14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
14 May the Lord give you [great] increase, You and your children.
a. These words provide a most accurate description of the true nature of blessing. Blessing means increase and abundance, whereas the closest definition of curse, is decrease and loss.
4. God has no problem with increasing us.
a. Psalm 35:27 Amplified Bible (AMP)
27 Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication andwant what is right for me; Let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who delightsand takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
b. Luke 12:32Amplified Bible (AMP)
32 Do not be afraid and anxious, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
5. God has no problem with increasing our children.
a. Proverbs 13:22Amplified Bible (AMP)
22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for [the hands of] the righteous.
b. Prosperity of the One Who Fears (seeks) the Lord.
112 Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who fears the Lord [with awe-inspired reverence and worships Him with obedience], Who delights greatly in His commandments.
2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.
DON’T FORGET WHERE YOU GOT THE BLESSING!
Day 5
GOD IS ALL ABOUT INCREASE
A. Multiplication
1. Genesis 9:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 “As for you, be fruitful and multiply; Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.”
2. Leviticus 26:9Amplified Bible (AMP)
9 For I will turn toward you [with favor and regard] and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish and confirm My covenant with you.
3. 2 Corinthians 9:10Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing [that is, your resources] and increase the harvest of your righteousness [which shows itself in active goodness, kindness, and love].
B. The Double
1. Isaiah 61:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 Instead of your [former] shame you will have a [a]double portion; And instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited]; Everlasting joy will be theirs.
2. Exodus 22:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 “If a man gives his neighbor money or [other] goods to keep [for him while he is away] and it is stolen from the neighbor’s house, then, if the thief is caught, he shall pay double [for it].
3. Job 42:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)
God Restores Job’s Fortunes
10 The Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
a. Added all that had been to Job unto the double."
b. Verse 12: Job 42:12 Amplified Bible (AMP)
12 And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.
4. Zechariah 9:12 Amplified Bible (AMP)
12 Return to the stronghold [of security and prosperity], O prisoners who have the hope; Even today I am declaring that I will restore double [your former prosperity] to you [as firstborn among nations].
C. The Hundredfold Return
1. Genesis 26:12-13 Amplified Bible (AMP)
12 Then Isaac planted [seed] in that land [as a farmer] and reaped in the same year a hundred times [as much as he had planted], and the Lord blessed and favored him. 13 And the man [Isaac] became great and gained more and more until he became very wealthy and extremely distinguished;
2. Mark 4:20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
20 And those [in the last group] are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word [of God, the good news regarding the way of salvation] and accept it and bear fruit—thirty, sixty, and a hundred times as much [as was sown].”
3. Mark 10:28-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)
28 Peter started saying to Him, “Look, we have given up everything and followed You [becoming Your disciples and accepting You as Teacher and Lord].” 29 Jesus said, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, there is no one who has given up a house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, 30 who will not receive a hundred times as much now in the present age—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms—along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.
D. One Thousand Times More
1. Deuteronomy 1:11Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 May the Lord, the God of your fathers, add to you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you, just as He has promised you!
2. Isaiah 60:22 Amplified Bible (AMP)
22 “The smallest one will become a thousand (a clan), And the least one a mighty nation. I, the Lord, will quicken it in its [appointed] time.”
3. How will God make you a thousand times more?
a. You shall possess the land.
b. You shall be the head and not the tail.
c. No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
d. God’s miracle and healing power will increase.
e. You shall renew your strength like the eagles.
f. You are God’s property.
g. As you seed your tithes to God, you shall “Prove the Lord.”
i. He will pour you out a blessing.
ii.He will rebuke the devourer.
h. God will never leave you or forsake you.
i. You shall call those things that be not as though they are.
E. Bonus Scripture
1. Ezekiel 16:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 I made you (Israel) multiply like plants [which grow] in the field, and you grew up and became tall and you reached the age for [wearing] fine jewelry; your breasts were formed and your hair had grown, yet you were naked and bare.
AMPC: “I caused you [Israel] to multiply as the bud which grows in the field, and you increased and became tall and you came to full maidenhood and beauty.”
YOU’VE GOT TO GET UNDER THE CURSE TO DECREASE. AND YOU’VE GOT TO GET UNDER THE BLESSING TO INCREASE.
Day 6
MARKED FOR INCREASE
A. THE BLESSING Imparted to Man
1. Genesis 1:28 Amplified Bible (AMP)
28 And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it [putting it under your power]; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
2. Blessed = Empowered to prosper and increase
3. THE BLESSING is an empowerment that comes upon our lives which can be seen by others.
4. We are marked for increase.
5. Psalm 67:5-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
5 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You.
6 The earth has yielded its harvest [as evidence of His approval]; God, our God, blesses us.
7 God blesses us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder].
B. Abraham Was Marked for Increase
1. Genesis 14:18-20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
18 [a]Melchizedek king of Salem (ancient Jerusalem) brought out bread and wine [for them]; he was the priest of [b]God Most High. 19 And Melchizedek blessed Abram and said, “Blessed (joyful, favored) be Abram by God Most High, Creator and Possessor of heaven and earth;
20 And blessed, praised, and glorified be God Most High, Who has given your enemies into your hand.” And Abram gave him a tenth of all [the treasure he had taken in battle].
Footnotes:
Genesis 14:18 Heb king of righteousness.
Genesis 14:18 Heb El Elyon and so throughout the chapter. The supreme Ruler of all the universe; His dominion is all encompassing and everlasting.
2. Melchizedek recognized that Abraham was blessed.
3. There were obvious results in his life that indicated the blessing of increase was upon him.
4. The Spirit of Increase was all over Abraham.
5. Genesis 24:1 Amplified Bible (AMP)
A Bride for Isaac
24 Now Abraham was old, [well] advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.
a. Verse 35: Genesis 24:35Amplified Bible (AMP)
35 The Lord has greatly blessed my master, and he has become great (wealthy, powerful); He has given him flocks and herds, and silver and gold, and servants and maids, and camels and donkeys.
b. Genesis 13:2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 Now Abram was extremely rich in livestock and in silver and in gold.
C. Isaac Was Marked for Increase
1. Genesis 26:12-14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
12 Then Isaac planted [seed] in that land [as a farmer] and reaped in the same year a hundred times [as much as he had planted], and the Lordblessed and favored him. 13 And the man [Isaac] became great and gained more and more until he became very wealthy and extremely distinguished;14 he owned flocks and herds and a great household [with a number of servants], and the Philistines envied him.
2. The Spirit of Increase was so evident that it caused his enemies to envy him.
3. Verses 26-29: Genesis 26:26-29 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Covenant with Abimelech
26 Then Abimelech came to him from Gerar with Ahuzzath, his [close friend and confidential] adviser, and Phicol, the commander of his army. 27 Isaac said to them, “Why have you [people] come to me, since you hate me and have sent me away from you?” 28 They said, “We see clearly that the Lord has been with you; so we said, ‘There should now be an oath between us [with a curse for the one who breaks it], that is, between you and us, and let us make a covenant (binding agreement, solemn promise) with you,29 that you will not harm us, just as we have not touched you and have done nothing but good to you and have sent you away in peace. You are now the blessed and favored of the Lord!’”
D. We Are Marked by Increase
1. Zechariah 8:13 Amplified Bible (AMP)
13 And as you have been a curse among the nations, O house of Judah (Southern Kingdom) and house of Israel (Northern Kingdom), so I will save you, that you may be a blessing. Fear not; let your hands be strong.’
2. If The Spirit of Increase is on us, we will succeed no matter where we live and in spite of the economy.
3. We could live in the darkest, most remote part of the world, but if The Spirit of Increase was upon us, we would flourish.
4. People may not know what to call it, but they would know there is something different about us.
5. Psalm 1:3Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].
IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE WORLD, BECAUSE YOU ARE A MARKED MAN!
Day 7
POSITIONED FOR INCREASE
A. Keep Covenant With God
1. Deuteronomy 8:10-14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you. 11 “Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by failing to keep His commandments and His judgments (precepts) and His statutes which I am commanding you today; 12 otherwise, when you have eaten and are satisfied, and have built good houses and lived in them, 13 and when your herds and flocks multiply, and your silver and gold multiply, and all that you have increases, 14 then your heart will become lifted up [by self-conceit and arrogance] and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
2. 2 Chronicles 26:5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
5 He continued to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding [a]through the vision of God; and as long as he sought (inquired of, longing for) the Lord, God caused him to prosper.
3. Deuteronomy 28:2Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you pay attention to the voice of the Lord your God.
B. Walk in Obedience
1. Isaiah 1:19 Amplified Bible (AMP)
19 “If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the best of the land;
2. Job 36:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 “If they hear and serve Him, They will end their days in prosperity And their years in pleasantness and joy.
3. Obedience to the written and specific Word opens the door to supernatural increase.
C. Give God’s Word First Place
1. Psalm 1:1-3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Book One
The Righteous and the Wicked Contrasted.
1 [a]Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of [b]scoffers (ridiculers).
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.
3 And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].
Footnotes:
Psalm 1:1 This has been called “The Preface Psalm” because in some respects it introduces the complete book of Psalms as a godly message. It opens with a benediction, “Blessed,” as does the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 5:3).
Matthew 5:3 Amplified Bible (AMP) 3 “Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].
Psalm 1:1 shallow thinkers who are quick to mock or disdain.
2. Putting God’s Word first place in your life will create an inner image of increase.
3. If you can conceive it, then you can receive it. Increase God’s Way
D. Hard Work and Diligence
1. Proverbs 10:4 Amplified Bible (AMP)
4 Poor is he who works with a negligent and idle hand, But the hand of the diligent makes him rich.
2. Proverbs 13:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, But he who gathers gradually by [honest] labor will increase [his riches].
3. Proverbs 12:24 Amplified Bible (AMP)
24 The hand of the diligent will rule, But the negligent and lazy will be put to forced labor.
4. Deuteronomy 28:8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
8 The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your storehouses and in [a]all that you undertake, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
5. God doesn’t bless lazy Christians.
E. Proverbs 3:9-10—Give to God
1. Proverbs 3:9-10 Amplified Bible (AMP)
9 Honor the Lord with your wealth And with the first fruits of all your crops (income);
10 Then your barns will be abundantly filled And your vats will overflow with new wine.
2. How do we honor God with our finances?
a. Malachi 3:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 Bring all the tithes (the tenth) into the [a]storehouse, so that there may be [b]food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you [so great] a blessing until there is no more room to receive it.
Footnotes:
Malachi 3:10 In ancient times special storehouses were established in the temple to receive the tithes of the harvest. If the people were not faithful, the priests could not continue to serve and perform their duties.
Malachi 3:10 support for the priests and their families.
b. Proverbs 11:24-25 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3. We must honor God with our finances right where we are.
a. Don’t wait for your ship to come in.
b. Begin today.
c. Open the door for The Spirit of Increase by tithing and sowing.
Day 8
THE LAW OF INCREASE
A. The Law of Increase
1. Mark 4:24-25 Amplified Bible (AMP)
24 Then He said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement [that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom] it will be measured to you [and you will be given even greater ability to respond]—and more will be given to you besides. 25 For [a]whoever has [a teachable heart], to him more [understanding] will be given; and whoever does not have [a yearning for truth], even what he has will be taken away from him.”
Footnotes:
Mark 4:25 The person “who has” is one who is receptive to God’s word, while the one “who does not have” is the person who is blind to and has rejected the spiritual truth and godly wisdom already given to him. As a result, even what little he had previously understood about Jesus will no longer be clear to him.
2. These verses are absolutely crucial for those who desire a life of prosperity.
3. They capture a law that governs everything in the kingdom of God.
4. We will never experience increase unless we understand this law.
5. First, we must understand the significance of the word, hear.
B. How Do You Measure the Word?
1. Luke 6:46-49 Amplified Bible (AMP)
A Secure Foundation
46 “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not practice what I tell you?47 Everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and obeys them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 he is like a [far-sighted, practical, and sensible] man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and yet could not shake it, because it had been securely built and founded on the rock. 49 But the one who has [merely] heard and has not practiced [what I say], is like a [foolish] man who built a house on the ground without any foundation, and the torrent burst against it; and it immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”
2. Two people heard the same Word.
a. One valued the Word and acted on it.
b. The other didn’t value the Word and ignored it.
3. Both received exactly what they expected.
4. Jesus basically said, “Be careful how you hear, because when I deal with you, I will be using your measuring stick—not Mine.”
5. How you measure the Word is how it will be measured back to you.
a. If we hear the Word of increase and measure it with faith, we will increase.
b. If we hear the Word of increase and measure it with skepticism and doubt, we will decrease.
C. The Parable of the Sower
2. Why is it that some receive one kind of return and some another?
3. Does God just arbitrarily give greater blessings to one person than He gives to someone else?
4. Absolutely not!
a. He measures the blessing back to us according to the way we measure the Word.
b. Mark 4:24 Amplified Bible (AMP)
24 Then He said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement [that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom] it will be measured to you [and you will be given even greater ability to respond]—and more will be given to you besides.
5. Our increase depends on how much thought, study and attention we give God’s Word in this area.
a. We must give God’s Word first place in our heart.
b. We must receive it by faith instead of doubt.
c. We must be willing to defend it when the devil tries to steal it.
THE LORD IS JUST WAITING ON YOUR FAITH!
Day 9
INCREASE THROUGH WEALTH TRANSFER
A. Financial Inversion Shall Increase in These Days
1. “Financial inversion shall increase in these days. For you see, it is My desire to move in the realm of your financial prosperity. But release Me," saith the Lord, "release Me that I may come in your behalf and move on your behalf.
2. “For yes, there shall be in this hour financial distress here and there. The economy shall go up and it will go down; but those who learn to walk in the Word, they shall see the prosperity of the Word come forth in this hour in a way that has not been seen by men in days past.
3. “Yes, there’s coming a financial inversion in the world’s system. It’s been held in reservoirs of wicked men for days on end. But the end is nigh.
4. “Those reservoirs shall be tapped and shall be drained into the gospel of Jesus Christ.
5. “It shall be done in the time allotted and so shall it be that the Word of the Lord shall come to pass that the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.”
B. The Largest, Most Significant Wealth Transfer
1. “The largest, most significant transfer of property, goods, wealth and people from the hands of the devil into the hands of God’s people who are prepared to receive it....
2. “I am telling you, the biggest transfer of property in the history of mankind has just begun and it is swinging into hands of God’s people....
3. “It has moved over into its final stage, saith The LORD.
4. “And those who will listen to Me and follow Me and trust Me—those who I have taught My WORD and have given the authority to walk in these things, it is the most outstanding thing that human eyes have ever seen.
5. “And the time is now. Your time has come. Your hour has come. So rise and do those things by faith that you know to do and all that belongs to heaven will come into your hands for your joy.”
C. Excerpts from Supernatural Wealth Transfer
1. “[God is] restoring the earth back into the hands of its rightful owners, as well as restoring the power or Blessing to govern it. Because of Adam’s sin, the earth was not in the hands of God’s family. Now, God is working His redemptive plan to get it all back...what I refer to as a SUPERNATURAL transfer of wealth.
2. “One of the major things coming in this hour is an EXPLOSION OF WEALTH in the Body of Christ. Through divine favor, witty inventions and the grace of giving, we are at the season of the greatest WEALTH TRANSFER in the history of this planet. There will be inventions that make the iPhone seem like child’s play.
3. “We are even going to see money supernaturally transfer into the bank accounts of the people of God. Why the transfer of wealth? Mainly for the advancing of the kingdom and bringing in the end-time harvest of souls. God needs the wealth in our hands to fulfill the call that is on our lives for this generation—to reclaim what Jesus redeemed.”
D. Wealth Transfer Scriptures
1. Proverbs 13:22 Amplified Bible (AMP)
22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for [the hands of] the righteous.
2. Ecclesiastes 2:26 Amplified Bible (AMP)
26 For to the person who pleases Him God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who pleases God. This too is vanity and chasing after the wind.
3. Proverbs 22:22-23 Amplified Bible (AMP)
22 Do not rob the poor because he is poor [and defenseless], Nor crush the afflicted [by legal proceedings] at the gate [where the city court is held],
23 For the Lord will plead their case And take the life of those who rob them.
4. Job 27:16-17 Amplified Bible (AMP)
16 “Though he heaps up silver like dust And piles up clothing like clay,
17 He may prepare it, but the just will wear it And the innocent will divide the silver.
a. Verse Job 27:19 (NLT): “The wicked go to bed rich but wake to find that all their wealth is gone.”
5. Proverbs 28:8 (AMPC): “He who by charging excessive interest and who by unjust efforts to get gain increases his material possession gathers it for him [to spend] who is kind and generous to the poor.”
E. Wealth Transfer Testimony
1. A pastor was believing for the land next to his church.
2. The owner purchased it for $1,200,000 in 2007.
3. He would sell it to the pastor for $600,000.
4. The pastor faithfully sowed seed for the purchase of the property for two years.
5. Recently, the owner came to the pastor and said, “I am older now and don’t want the property. I decided to donate it to your church (complete with a hotel!).”
Day 10
INCREASE BY ASSOCIATION
A. Proverbs 13:20—The Spiritual Law of Association
1. Proverbs 13:20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
20 He who walks [as a companion] with wise men will be wise, But the companions of [conceited, dull-witted] fools [are fools themselves and] will experience harm.
3. Who we associate with has a profound impact on our life.
a. When we walk with negative people, we will be negative.
b. When we walk with positive people, we will be positive.
4. It has everything to do with our destiny.
5. It also directly impacts the kind of increase we will experience.
B. Moses and Joshua
Numbers 11:28 Amplified Bible (AMP)
28 Then Joshua the son of Nun, the attendant of Moses from his youth, said, “My lord Moses, stop them!”
1. Joshua was a faithful servant to Moses.
2. NIV—Joshua son of Nun, had been Moses’ aid since youth.
a. NLT—Assistant
b. NASB—Attendant
c. DRB—Minister
3. Exodus 33:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 And so the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his attendant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.
4. Numbers 27:18-20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
18 The Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him; 19 and have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before the whole congregation, and give him a commission in their sight. 20 You shall put some of your authority and honor on him, so that all the congregation of the Israelites will obey him.
5. Joshua’s association with Moses caused the same anointing, wisdom and leadership skills to come upon him.
C. Paul and the Church at Philippi
1. Philippians 1:3-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 I thank my God in every remembrance of you, 4 always offering every prayer of mine with joy [and with specific requests] for all of you,5 [thanking God] for your participation and partnership [both your comforting fellowship and gracious contributions] in [advancing] the good news [regarding salvation] from the first day [you heard it] until now. 6 I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return]. 7 It is right for me to feel this way about you, because [you have me in your heart as] I have you in my heart, since both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the good news [regarding salvation], all of you share in [His matchless] grace with me.
2. Verse 5—Fellowship can also be translated partnership or association.
3. Because of their association from the beginning of his ministry, the Church partook of Paul’s grace and anointing.
4. Philippians 4:19 Amplified Bible (AMP)
19 And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
a. This scripture was birthed out of an association.
b. Paul was writing to his partners—people to whom he had ministered.
c. They valued and appreciated what he taught them.
5. They experienced The Spirit of Increase through their association with the Apostle Paul.
D. To the Ministries
1. This same principle applies to us.
2. We are partakers through our association with this ministry.
3. We can walk in the same grace and anointing.
a. The Spirit of faith
b. Our authority as believers
c. Knowing who we are in Christ
d. Understanding the laws that govern supernatural abundance and prosperity
THE BLESSING IS THE ABILITY TO INCREASE IN EVERY SITUATION.

The "Trump" Shall Resound! A Bible Study By Dr Jose Poulose
The Trump era is about to begin! Between the tweets, debates and policy changes, Donald Trump is going dominate the political discourse both in the US and outside from now on, for some years to come. Let us pray that the Lord will strengthen his hands and fills him with wisdom! As Christians, we are commanded to pray for our leaders. The bible exhorts us, “Therefore I exhort first that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior” (1 Timothy 2:1-3) While we agree, and disagree with President Donald Trump, let us not forget about the other “Trump”, the Great Trumpet of the Lord, announcing the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ! The final words of the famous gospel hymn “It is well…,” composed by Horatio G. Spafford in 1873, after the tragic loss of his four precious young daughters, goes like this…. And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, Even so, it is well with my soul. Let us keep our ears open for the sound of that great trumpet! There are more than 300 references to the Second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in the bible. It is the blessed hope for the people of God. The early Christians greeted each other with the words, “Maranatha” which stands for “Come, Lord Jesus.” When they faced persecutions, trials and difficulties, they comforted one another with the blessed hope of the Lord’s imminent return. That is when all suffering ends, and we get to be with our Lord, who gave himself for us on the cross of Calvary. His glorious appearing is near, let us get ready! We can divide the testimony of the Scriptures concerning the Second Coming into the following four categories. 1. Testimony of the Old Testament prophets:
The prophets of the Old Testament spoke with pinpoint accuracy about the first coming of Jesus. They were not speaking their own words, but were moved by the Spirit of God to speak. Micah spoke that the messiah would be born at Bethlehem. (Micah 5:2). Zechariah prophesied about the betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:13). Isaiah foresaw the suffering messiah on the cross. (Isaiah 53). David spoke of his death upon the cross. (Psalm 22) So when the Messiah finally came in the fullness of time, all the prophesies, which were foretold hundreds of years before His earthly coming were fulfilled, including the one given in the garden of Eden.(Genesis3:15) Many of the same prophets spoke and said that He would back again. Zechariah prophesied “and in that day His feet will stand on the Mount Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount Olives will split in two,” (Zechariah 14:4). David speaks about His second coming in Psalms 110. Some of the other old testament references to the second coming of Jesus Christ are Daniel 7:14, Joel 3:2, Haggai 2:20-22, Zechariah 14:4-21, Malachi 4:1,2. There are many more. 2. Testimony of the angels:
“Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up and a cloud received them out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven”(Acts 1:9-11). These words are very comforting indeed. We know that Jesus was taken up into heaven from Mount Olives (Acts 1:12). The angels testified that He will come back to Mount Olives. That is exactly what we read in Zechariah 14:4. 3. Testimony of the Apostles of Jesus Christ:
Apostle Paul records, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an Archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18) Apostle Peter says, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness…” (2 Peter 3:9-11) 4. Testimony of Our Lord Himself: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have not told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3) These are just a few references. There are many more throughout the bible. They refer to the different aspects of the Second Coming. The sequence of events will be as follows. A. Rapture or secret coming of Jesus in the clouds to gather His saints, both dead and alive. (1Thesalonians 4:16-18) (Mathew 24:36-44) B. 7-year tribulation on the earth and the rule of antichrist. (2 Thessalonians 3-10) (Revelation 6-19). C. Visible, public coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to Mount Olives with His saints and the war of Armageddon. (Revelation 1:7) (Mathew 24:30) D. 1000-year millennial rule of Jesus Christ from Jerusalem. (Isaiah 11 and 35) E. The war of Gog and Magog. (Revelation 20:7-10) (Ezekiel 38, 39) F. The great White Throne judgment. (Revelation 20:11-15) G.  The dissolution of the present heaven and the earth by fire. (2Peter 3: 10) H.  New Heaven and New Earth. (Revelation 21:1) I.   New Jerusalem, the glorious heavenly city where the Lord will dwell with His people. J. Eternity. My friend, are you ready for all these? Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? Have you repented of your sins? Are you living by His WORD daily? Are you waiting for His coming? If not, please pray this prayer now. “Dear Father in heaven, I am a sinner. I admit that I cannot save myself. I admit that I cannot earn heaven by my good works. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross of Calvary for my sins. I believe that He rose again from the dead on the third day. Lord, wash me and cleanse me by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Forgive all my sins, Lord. I receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior now. I want to live per your WORD daily, so that I will not be left out when Jesus comes back again. Thank you, Lord,” If you have prayed this from the bottom of your heart, you are now a child of God. Your sins are forgiven. Live for Jesus every day and wait eagerly for His coming. May God, bless you richly. He has great plans for your life. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11) You can also sing along words of the immortal gospel hymn, And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, Even so, it is well with my soul. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
