Boomin (Part 2)
Hi Everybody!! After an incredible response to part 1 of this story, I have decided  to continue it. Thank you all so much for the kind words. Means a lot to me! ]
This story focuses around the time from the instagram post through the last day of the tour (which this year, happens to be Valentine’s Day, so you know where I’m leading with this.) It is long but I didn’t feel that there was a part I could cut out. I do have ideas running for Part 3, so if you enjoy this part and would like another please let me know either by commenting on this post, or messaging me! :)  I really do enjoy reading them! Like/Reblog! Enjoy!
Sharna woke up about an hour later coddled in the same position she had fell asleep in. She looked to the left and saw him fast asleep, with his face to the ceiling. She smiled and pulled out her phone trying not to disturb him. She opened instagram and saw his most recent post. She smiled as she clicked “like” and then began to comment. “It sure is. @iamvalc” she added the kissing face emoji, 2 heart emojis, and two of the smiley faces with heart eyes.
“You guys are way too cute. I can’t take it.” Lindsay shook her head in an amused fashion.
Sharna smiled and rested her head back into Val’s shoulder.
About 40 minutes later, the driver had announced that they arrived at their hotel in Arizona. The dancers woke up gradually one by one and headed into the hotel. Sharna kissed Val’s cheek to wake him up. “Babe, we’re here.”
He woke up abruptly, confused. “Hey.” She said as he saw her.
“Come on.”
All the pros were gathered in the lobby. The tour manager went to check them in and returned later with room keys. “Same roommates!” Alan yelled as he took three room keys and signaled to Keo and Val. Val looked to his side down at Sharna, who he had his arm around. “Same roommates?”
Sharna laughed and shook her head. “Just go with it. We’ll figure out a way around it.”
Val gave her a kiss on the cheek and went to catch up with Alan and Keo. Sharna walked over to Laurie and put her arm around her. “Hey Girlie. You ready?”
“Yes I am!” Laurie held up two room keys. They walked together towards the elevator and waited with the rest of the girls.
When they got all settled it was 12:30 a.m. Sharna climbed into bed, in a pair of sweatpants and a oversized t-shirt. Laurie climbed into the other bed and slid down making herself comfortable. Sharna’s phone rang with an imessage from Val. She slid it to the right, and the message popped up on the screen. “Where are you. I need me some Sharna.” The emoji with one wink and a tongue out was placed next to it.
Sharna shook her head and smiled as her fingers slid quickly over the keyboard. “I’m sitting here in my bed. All alone. With this biggg emptyyy space next to me.”
“I know the feeling. Come over.”
“Laurie is still awake.”
“Come over when she falls asleep.”
“I will try.” She locked her phone and put it on the nightstand.
Laurie sat up, “Is it ok if I turn off the light?”
“Of course babe.” Sharna grabbed her phone again and opened instagram. She passed the time by reading the comments on his photo. 15 minutes later she looked to her left and saw that Laurie was asleep. She got up carefully and left the room, going to spend the next few hours with her boyfriend.
2 hours later, Sharna opened the door to her room as quietly as possible and tried to be as light on her feet as she walked to her bed. She was almost past Laurie’s bed, when she stubbed her foot on the wood leg of the bed frame. “Oh. Fuu-aaaaaa”.
Laurie sat up abruptly and turned on the lamp. “Jeez, Sharna you scared me.”
“I’m so sorry. I was trying to be quiet and then this dumbass bed got in the way.”
Laurie smiled knowingly, “Where were ya?” She teased.
Sharna looked at her and smiled, tilting her head downward. “You know exactly where I was.”
“Was business boomin?” “Hmm.” she pursed her lips.
“I bet a lot of it. Over and over-”
“Ok. Laurie. No. I am not having this conversation with a 16 year old.”
Laurie sighed. “Fine.”
Sharna took off her shoes and climbed back into bed. She reached for the lamp and then slumped down and looked at the ceiling. Laurie turned on her side and watched her. “Penny for your thoughts?” Sharna looked at her and then turned on her side. “My thoughts are nothing that is going to interest you.”
“You can give it a try.”
“I’m just thinking about a certain someone.”
“I can assume that much. What are you thinking about him?” “I’m thinking that I’m happy and that I can see myself being happy for a long time.”
“Well that’s good.” Laurie looked at Sharna who did not seem convinced that this was a good thing.
“I don’t know if it is. I haven’t felt this way in a long time. And the last time I did, it didn’t end well. I don’t want to give Val that power. The power to hurt me. But I think he already has it.”
“And if he does Shar, he’s already destroyed it.”
“What do you mean?” “If Val got the power to hurt you ever, he would never use it. He loves you too much for that. He’s not going to hurt you.”
“And how do you know that?” “I know that, because I know Val. I know what kind of guy he is, and I know who he cares about.” “He cares about me now, but what if in a couple of months, I become Amber, and there is another Sharna who takes my place.” “It won’t happen.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re Sharna Burgess.”
“And?”
“He loves and has always loved Sharna Burgess.”
“And what if he stops loving me, when I get older.”
“He’s not going to stop. Because when you find a love like the two of you have. Nothing will break that. Ever.”
“You’re a very wise young lady. I like talking to you”
“Anytime.”
Sharna rolled back over so she was laying on her back. Laurie did the same but a few minutes later the silence was broken again. “Hey Sharna?” “Yea nugget?”
“If I ever have any questions about guys or about- ya know. Do you think I could talk to you?”
Sharna rolled over and faced Laurie who was looking at her. “Of course. You can talk to me about anything and everything. You’re my family Laurie.”
“And you’re mine.”
Val walked out into the main space of his suite from his bedroom. Sharna had just left and he was feeling mighty good about himself. He saw Alan and Keo sitting on the couch watching a movie. “You guys are still awake?” “Bro, how did you expect us to sleep?” Alan did a girlie voice pretending to be Sharna. “Oh, Val, I just love you sooo much.” He was over exaggerating.
Keo responded in his best Val imitation. “I just love you so much too Sharna. And I’m russian so I know how to love.”
Alan, in the same Sharna voice went to respond, “Ooo.-”
“Ok.” Val cut them off “A) Sharna sounds absolutely nothing like that.
B) I have never once said “oh I’m russian, I know how to love.” And C) we weren’t even talking loudly”
Alan grunted. “Yeah but you were doing something else loudly.”
Keo gave him a high five and laughed. “Oh bro.” He covered his mouth laughing.
“Laugh. Laugh away.” Val shook his head and laughed too. “I’ll see you guys tomorrow. I’m exhausted.”
“Yea. You must be, with all that-” “Ok. Ok.” He waved them away and walked back to his room. He saw a message on his phone from Sharna. It read, “Tonight was amazing. I love you.”
“And I love you.” He added the kissing face emoji.
The rest of the tour went smoothly. Everyone was super happy with the buzz it produced. After their final bows they all headed back to the dressing room together. They were exchanging hugs and taking pictures, then the guys left and headed to get changed. Shortly after when everyone was dressed they all had begun making their way out of the venue and going their separate ways, not getting on the tour bus for the first time in months. Val was walking through the hallways when he saw Emma coming towards him. He pointed in the direction he was going and looked at her, “Sharna?”
She pointed behind her. “Still in the dressing room!”
“Thanks Em.” He walked towards the dressing room and knocked. “It’s Val.”
He heard her voice call him in. He saw her looking in the mirror wiping off her makeup. He moved behind her and wrapped his arms around her as he pressed a kiss into the crevice of her neck. He rested his head on her shoulder with his arms still around her, as she continued to take off her makeup. She looked at him and smiled. “So where are you headed now?” “Well,” He stood up, walking next to her and turning around to lean against the counter. “I have just a little something planned for us.”
“Val, aren’t you tired?”
“That doesn’t change the fact that it’s Valentine’s Day. And the tour ending today is not going to stop me from sharing our first Valentine’s day together with you. And before you say anything, I called Woo. She’s taking care of Daisy and Duke. Tonight is for me and you. Away from the cameras and the spotlights. Just Val and Sharna.” She smiled and shook her head. “Where are we going?”
“That’s for me to know and you to find out.”
“Val!”
“Uh nuh. I have been working very hard on this surprise. And I want it to be just that, a surprise.” “Ok.” She gave him a light kiss and patted him on the chest. “Wait for me outside? I might have a present to wrap. Ya know.”
He smiled and turned around heading to the tour. “Serge brought my car here earlier, so I’ll go pull it up by the doors.”
“Gotcha.”
Ten minutes later, Sharna met him right outside the doors and slid into the passenger’s seat of the car. “OO. this is weird.” She bounced around a little bit.
“What is?”
“It’s just like. I’m actually your girlfriend.”
“As opposed to being fakely my girlfriend?” “I just mean like I’m riding in your car as your girlfriend. We’re home and it’s still real.”
“It’s going to stay real.” He took her hand and held it, placing their joined hands in her lap. He put the car into drive and drove with his free hand out of the parking lot and towards their final destination. Later, after sitting in traffic for 25 minutes, they arrived at CBS Studios. Sharna looked up at the sign. “What are we doing at work?” “You’ll see.”
They both got out of the car and headed to the doors. She went to open it and he stopped her. “Not yet.” He reached in his back pocket and pulled out a black blindfold.
“You’re blindfolding me?” he said in disbelief.
“It’s necessary under these conditions.” He smiled as he motioned for her to turn around. She did as he asked and he tied the blindfold over her eyes. He grabbed her hand and opened the door of the studio, leading her. “Val, I can’t see anything.”
“That’s the point.” He led her down the hallway and into the main ballroom. He moved them to the center and then let go of her hand, as he moved behind her untying the blindfold. She opened her eyes slowly and gasped.
The dance floor was bordered in candles and white sheets draped from the ceiling, in different areas of the ballroom. Each sheet, had it’s own projection on it. Videos of them dancing, videos of them laughing, pictures of them kissing, moments captured that went unnoticed.
“Oh. Val.” She put her hand to her chest as she walked around the ballroom looking at each moment. She stopped at the one of them with paparazzi, where she was signing autographs as he had his arm around her, teasing her about the bikini picture. “Oh my gosh. I remember this. I was with-” “You were with Paul. And I might have had slight feelings there.”
“You were my best friend.”
“I’m still your best friend, except we kiss now.”
Sharna smiled and nodded as she continued looking up at the different moments of their lives. She stumbled upon their “Stay with Me” dance. “Oh. This dance. I loved it. Every minute of it.”
“You know that’s the first time we ever kissed?” He asked her.
“It was for dance.”
“It still meant something. To me at least.”
“To me too.” She walked over to him, where he was still standing in the middle of the floor. “How did you do all of this?” “A few favors, a lot of phone calls. I needed to do something special for you.”
“This exceeds special.”
“You exceed special.”
She rested her hands on his face and kissed him. “You never cease to amaze me.”
“Come. There’s still more.” He took her hand and they walked to the edge of the dance floor. There were pillows and blankets, covered in rose petals. On one of the pillows was an envelope. Written on it in fancy lettering, it read. “Sharna.”
She opened it and inside was nothing but a flash-drive. She looked at him confused. “What’s this?”
“This.” He covered her hand which was holding the flash-drive “is something that I want you to keep. On it, is a message for you from me, but not a message to listen to now. A message for the future. You’ll know when is the right time to watch it. Save it.”
Sharna nodded and clenched it in her palm. She put it back in the envelope and sealed it, resting it with her stuff. Val once again took her hand and pulled her down to sit on the ground with him. She kissed him. But he broke from her. “One more thing for you.” He pulled his hand from behind his back revealing a long horizontal box. She looked at him. “Val!” “Open it.”
She opened the box and revealed a necklace with a small diamond along with a silver “V” and a silver “S”. “Oh my god. It’s beautiful. Here, Put it on.” She handed him the necklace and lifted her hair.
He brought it in front of her and clasped it behind her neck. “It looks amazing.”
She kissed him again. “Ok, I have something for you.” She reached for the bag, which she had set there before. She handed it to him and spoke as he opened it, “It warrants explanation.”
He lifted the box out of the bag and undid the bow. He opened it and saw a David Yurman Anchor Amulet, hanging on a box chain. “Wow.”
“I picked it out because- Well it’s hard to explain. But I feel in a way, whenever anything gets out of hand, we always end up back with each other. We keep each other grounded, so we’re kind of like each other’s anchors.”
“I love it.” He took it out of the box and put it on around his neck. “ I love love love it.”
“I’m glad. There is also something else in there.” She pointed towards the bag. He lifted out a picture frame which encased a menu.
“Look at it babe.”
He looked at the menu and instantly got the joke. “This is the place where we-?” “Yea. Thought it was kind of significant.”
Val laughed. “It’s perfect.” He set it aside and moved closer to her. She met his lips and let his tongue enter her mouth. He rolled her on her back and hovered over her. “Are we really going to do this? Here?” “Mhm Hmm.”
“Val, we work here. We dance on this floor.” “And your point?”
Sharna tried to think of one. “Forget it.”
2 hours later they were lying on the floor looking at the sheets still projecting the photos of them. She was cuddled under his arm and rested her hand on his chest. “This is just.”
“This is only one of the special things to come my love.”
“Can i ask you a question?” She tilted her head to look up at him. “Sure.”
“So you know that you said that thing on the flashdrive?”
“Not gonna happen.”
Sharna laughed and buried her face in his side. “Worth the shot” She looked up at him again. “Did you think we would ever end up like this?” “I knew we would.”
“How?”
“Because Shar, Love always wins.”
Sharna smiled thinking back to the conversation she had when deciding whether to take the leap of faith into the relationship. “Yeah, it does.”
Val kissed the top of her head. “Happy Valentine’s Day, my love.” ‘
“Happy Valentine’s Day babe.”
