It is an alternate version of the drawing I thought looked really cool. I did not sleep at all last night.

That 3am inspiration is no joke ya'll ✨️

It's not cannon to the events of the AU, but it does reveal the way Wukong in my AU cannon views himself after everything that has happened over the centuries. He sees himself unkindly as a greedy king and blames himself, despite how much he has grown and that not everything was entirely his fault.

He is still under the control of LBD in this alternate reality where she succeeds in her goal.

Anathema AU

So as you can probably guess, I have a LMK × Mei Hou Wang 2009 AU.

And its a bit more on the angsty side, how awfully predictable of me lmao

I'm low-key pretty happy with my redesign for Old Monkey King, referred to in this au as Old Chief Monkey (to avoid confusion with swk's current "Monkey King" title) and yeah there's a story behind those scars on him and why his fur is now so short when it used to be long and fluffy.

But that's for another day lol

For now, know that part of the backstory is that Old Chief Monkey took in Six-Eared Macaque as a young cub when he emerged on the mountain where this particular monkey village resided, a different one than Wukong and his monkeys on Flower Fruit Mountain. Six-Ears views the chief as a grandfather figure.
