Y’know I kinda wanna elaborate on the HC I mentioned, where I said that if Donald hadn’t found out what Douglas was doing and intervened, Douglas would’ve eventually cracked and fessed up

Mostly I wanna elaborate that he wouldn’t have fessed up because of ethical guilt (though I do think he may have something somewhere inside him that would give a damn about ethics. He did seem pretty excited to do good things after all) but more because he’s got the emotional strength of a wet tissue and would feel personal guilt after getting so attached

I’m gonna put most of it under a cut ‘cause it turned into a full on Douglas study I guess

Like... obviously I’m prefacing this with it being my own interpretation of the guy, but Douglas was a pretty emotional dude in the show. His entire redemption was rooted in his emotional attachment to his family. His morals never 100% improved, and the growth we did see was almost entirely motivated by “My family won’t like me if I’m a bad guy :(”

And while he’s not a particularly GOOD dad, he is a dad. Literally every kid Douglas gets more than 2 minutes of screen time with, he goes into some kind of Dad Mode

So, the way I see it, I don’t think Douglas would’ve lasted if he got to keep the Rats for longer than he did. It’s never actually said how old the kids were when Donald found out, but they couldn’t have been older than like... 3? Tops? Possibly even younger, technically. If Douglas actually got to watch those kids grow up in whatever messed up environment he had them in to keep them hidden (Which, I’ll be honest- based on comparing the brothers’ lab quality, was probably a worse environment than Donald’s lab) I don’t think he would’ve been able to commit. Not with the original trio, anyway

ALSO. I wanna bring up Donald, ‘cause he’s also a factor in of himself

Yeah, the brothers fight a lot, and did fight a lot. But I think it’s worth remembering that despite that, these two founded a company together. They invented things together. They work together seamlessly when they get in the zone. Douglas, despite all the animosity, was ecstatic at the prospect of getting to work alongside his brother again, and was genuinely sad when Donald didn’t feel the same, but chose not to fight Donald’s decision

Douglas cares what Donald thinks of him, and I bet he cared a lot more before Donald discovered what was happening and made his own judgement call. The two of them had to have been incredibly close, and that probably would’ve weighed on Douglas, too

But Donald found out on his own, and he didn’t waste time. He saw the children, he saw the conditions, the plans, the schematics. There was absolutely no way to rationalize what was happening here, Donald had to get these kids out and away. His little brother was using their assets to make deals with terrorists regarding the creation of bioweapons in the form of children

And Douglas was left ghosted by the most consistent presence in his life for the past 20+ years, locked out of the company he helped build from nothing, and separated from these kids who have also been a consistent presence in his life for entirely different reasons

And Douglas is notorious for deflecting and pushing back when someone else decides that he’s in the wrong. All that potential turmoil means the time between Donald finding out and Douglas “dying” was probably like. Intense. To put it mildly

All this to say: Douglas is still a DICK lmao and the point of this post is NOT to be like “Douglas deserved better” or even “Donald is to blame.” It’s more about how Douglas is a notably emotion-driven character and how it affects his dynamics and actions, both positive and negative

It’s also my favorite kind of angst- where technically, things could have turned out okay, or at least better than they did, if everyone involved hadn’t been such a mess

So I know in cannon all the countries are treated as if everyone speaks the same common language (I get it makes story telling easier) BUT lately I've had the brain worm of IF each country did have its own language to go with it's culture....what accents would Taka have?

This made me think about how Sasuke gets a lot of comments about how he's "clearly from Konoha" and in canon it's always because he's a softie or whatever (which, we've all seen how Konoha is, we know being soft isn't a trait that's from there) but what if it's actually because when he speaks he has a very distinct Konoha accent that he never really lost despite years away? And he could lose it, he has a good enough ear to pick up a different accent but what if it's not exactly a Konoha accents so much as it's the Uchiha accent. Because they lived in such a condensed environment there's no way they wouldn't have their own way of speaking that's similar enough to Konoha to get mistaken for it by those who don't know but still different. Sure, this means everyone who meets him will know where he came from but he refuses to lose the accent because it's the way his mother talked, his father talked, his aunts, uncles, and cousins talked. It's the way his brother talks, and it's another reason he's so easily recognizable as an Uchiha.

Suigetsu knows this and respects it (heck, he has a strong Kiri accent that he's not losing because it's where he's from and he wants people to know) but still definitely teases him about it sometimes. That one time he said "you really are from Konoha" wasn't actually commenting on Sasuke's no killing policy, he was saying "your accent is showing, dude" jkjk.

As for the rest of Taka, I'm not sure how their accents would compare to the ones we have in our world but I do think that Karin would have a southern accent. In my experience southern accents in the languages I know tend to be wider, have more tonal ups and downs, be more dynamic, and carry a lot of emotion which I think would be perfect for Karin. She usually speaks standard* but will slip into her native accent when she's emotionally charged. Only Sasuke and Juugo understand her when this happens, Suigetsu does not.

*Standard being what most people communicate with outside of small villages and in large cities with lots of import/export. It probably started in the Land of Fire and then was generally accepted across the rest of the major 5 nations. Other smaller nations don't use it that much but it is used in Otogakure because Orochimaru is from Konoha. Even though he probably uses old standard so no one understands him anyway.

Suigetsu has a Kiri accent which...probably sounds slightly sinister and a little slippery. It's a fairly well respected accent in the business world because Kiri is known for the quality of their assassins but is heavily associated with organized crime so if you have it civilians won't really trust you.

Juugo has a more rural, rough accent that comes from limited exposure to "modern" civilization and a lot of exposure to mountain villages and farmers (not helped by his time in the northern hideout where most everyone spoke the same except for the employees) He can't speak standard and is embarrassed about it and how rough his language sounds so he doesn't speak a lot at first. His accent is hard to understand for most people in the 5 great nations because it's so rural, but people from smaller countries like the land of birds get it. Sasuke understands it but only because he traveled to the northern hideout with Orochimaru a lot.

I'm not sure if this correctly corresponds with where each member is from geographically and how the language would be there, tbh I feel like the linguistics of the elemental nations + other countries could be a whole study in and in of itself, but these are my current thoughts on the topic. It's such a fascinating idea and I'll definitely be thinking about it more.

The way in 2016 Jungkook's nickname was "international playboy" -a nickname he coined himself- and when you compare it to the nicknames people use for him now... It's fascinating as it is scary.

I don't think it was only jikookers tho, it was definitely shippers in general.

I got into BTS in June/July 2017 and it was absolutely common and normal to see people saying Jungkook was rude, or a brat, saying "I want to fight Jungkook". I remember one tumblr post that went something like "jungkook is the type of guy I want to push into the pool with his cellphone in his pocket." It was a joke; but there was a good chunk of the fandom who just felt kind of aggressively towards him. I can confirm, he was very much a DUDE, a BRO capital letters.

A lot of things changed with love yourself era, they got out a little of the Korea bubble and got a wider perception of the world, of people and other cultures. Everyone softened (Jimin also wasn't such a babyboy but I think Jimin's changes are more layered and complicated), or at least showed a softer image after DNA. That's also when JK's change of image also came about. Many things happened at the same time, it was a time of constant change.

He wasn't shipped with every member like this, I personally saw that ship frenzy increase overtime. It mostly started from 2018 onwards, like that was the time everyone got really intense with the kooktan ships. And suddenly he was like the coveted bangtan boyfriend and people moved from the "international playboy" to actually perceiving him as the maknae and baby and adored kid in the group. Which literally was not happening like that before DNA lol. But it was a really sudden change, like it was wild. It took years for the fandom to stop illogically referring to Jimin as a flirt, but it only took a few months for Jungkook to go from the fandom's international playboy to the ideal husband. And yeah, that's how ships had a huge role in that.

Before 2018, army would've never seen him as anyone's "boyfriend" or ideal partner except for maybe Taehyung's. Because taekook was a thing from the beginning, that's the only Jungkook ship that exists since forever so before 2018 it was literally only taekookers saw him as loving or seriously considered him as someone with potential of being a romantic partner.

I know gcft also played a huge role but that happened in November 2017 so I'll just round it up to 2018 which is literally two months after lol.

I've talked about this before but I will bring it up again. Jimin was such a big, huge agent of change in who JK is, and it's something that really goes over people's heads but Jungkook getting closer to Jimin affected his image and I really believe it had an impact on his personality too.

Jimin actually had an impact in who BTS as a whole is. I think it's stupid to talk of imaginary situations like "if this hadn't happened.." because things do happen, they did happen, so I usually don't talk like that but I'll make an exception now; if Jimin hadn't been part of BTS, I swear BTS would've turned out to be really pathetic men like suju or even bigbang. AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL.

I link that tweet because it's been doing its rounds since yesterday, but there are more examples to what I'm trying to convey; giving gifts, the skinship and the physical affection.

Jimin simply by unapologetically being himself did so much for them as people and also for the group as a whole and more than anything for the perception the public had of them.

Dinner had been perfect. Ed had chosen the perfect meal that ticked all his boxes, and hadn’t even commented on how slow he was to eat it. He had been a little worried that aside from conversations about boundaries, he and Ed would have nothing to talk about, or that Stede would end up talking too much about something and Ed would get bored of him. Neither of those things happened though, because Ed was just the best. 

“-and fucking Izzy, he just turns to this dude and is all, ‘I’m five seven in heels, bitch’ and kneed him in the bollocks!” 

“No!” Stede gasped. Ed nods enthusiastically, taking another sip of his drink. 

“I swear, this guy looked so fucking dazed when Fang dragged him out. Did you meet Fang?”

“I didn’t,” Stede says, and from what Ed’s been telling him, he’s really missing out.

"He looks like he could rip you apart, but he's actually a massive softie." 

"Ah, like you, then?" Stede teased. 

"In some ways," Ed teased back. He took Stede's hand in his and ran his thumb across his knuckles. "I can be soft, but I can be stern too, if that's what you need."

"Stern?" Stede squirmed in his seat, a heat pooling in his belly that he was unused to. 

"Mhm. Are you ready to chat a little about sceneing tonight?"

"I'd like that," Stede nodded, swallowing his nerves. "Could we… uhm. I'd like to be…" he dropped his voice to a whisper. "Tickled, again please."

"Oh I think we can manage that," Ed said, his voice soft and teasing. "We talked about using restraints, would you still like to do that?"

"Please," Stede whispered, a flood of warmth encompassing his body at the thought of being at Ed's mercy. 

"Of course, sweetheart." Ed smiled warmly. "Is there anything else you'd like to try tonight?"

Absolutely there was. Stede had been thinking about it since he'd read it. 

"Uh…" 

Too shy to say it, he took his list from his pocket and pointed at the words. Ed leant in to look, a warm rumble coming from his throat as he read it. 

"How do you feel about dirty talk?" He asked, voice low. 

"Oh, yes. Yes please." Stede whispered, heavy eyes locked on Ed's. 

"Good boy," Ed stood, "Shall we take this to the car?"

Stede nodded, tugging his coat from the back of his chair to subtly cover his lap. Ed stowed the list away in his own pocket before taking Stede's free hand and leading him back out to the car. Stede all but threw himself into the passenger seat, trembling with anticipation. Ed slid in next to him, a picture of soothing confidence.

A warm hand reached out to cup Stede's neck, guiding their faces closer together. 

"Colour?" Ed whispered. 

"Green," Stede's eyes followed Ed's lips. 

"Ask me, sweetheart."

"Ed, would you please kiss me?"

"Good boy."

Ed's lips were soft. The kiss was chaste, but Stede had been wanting this every waking moment since he’d laid eyes on Ed. Emboldened by Ed's praise, Stede opened his mouth and moaned as he was pulled flush against Ed's chest. His beard was ticklish against his neck and he squirmed, hands coming to tangle in the ends of his hair. 

"Sweetheart," Ed pulled back to look into his eyes. "What you pointed out to me on the list. Using toys. You been thinking about that?"

"Yes, I…" he took a deep breath, willing his voice to be steady, and failing. "Ever since I saw that chair in the room, with the stocks."

"Yeah?" Ed kissed softly at the underside of his jaw. "Here's what I'm thinking, sweetheart. We go back to the club, get ourselves a nice quiet room, just for us. I put your pretty feet in those stocks and tie your hands so you don't have to worry about keeping still for me. Then I'll show you what toys I have hidden away in my treasure chest, and see which ones make you scream. How does that sound?"

As Ed spoke, Stede felt his cock start to strain in his trousers, and he moaned wantonly. 

"Green," was all he could force his mouth to say. Ed kisses him again, hard, leaving them both gasping. 

"Fuck, I can't wait." Ed's hands moved away and Stede felt his seatbelt click into place. Ed's hand rested on his knee, a constant pressure stopping him from floating away. "Ten minute drive, sweetheart. I want you to take some deep breaths to clear your head before we get there, hmm?"

"Yes, uh…" Stede fumbled, a little dazed. "What is the proper way to address you when we're going to scene?"

"What would you like to call me, sweetheart?" Ed started driving, the rumble of the engine a soothing background noise. "Would you like a few ideas?"

"Yes, please."

"I like Sir, or Captain, or even daddy if the mood strikes," Ed shot him a salacious grin. "And of course, you can just call me Ed."

Stede, who had been getting progressively pinker as Ed spoke, was lost for words.

"That's okay sweetheart, you think on that."

They drove in silence until they reached the club, Ed's hand never leaving his knee. 

When they arrived, Ed took his hand in his. 

"Colour?"

"Green."

"There's a lad," Ed smiled. He stepped out of the car and walked to Stede’s side, opening the door and taking his hand as he stood. Ed nodded to the bouncer as they entered, the club still mostly empty for a weekday. Clutching Ed’s hand, he allowed himself to be guided across the club floor, stopping momentarily at the bar for the barman to slip him a keycard. 

“C’mon, sweetheart.” Ed wrapped an arm around his waist as they approached the door, opening it with a tap. The room was much the same as it had been last night, only this time Stede knew precisely what was on the cards. 

Unsure of what to do, Stede shed his coat.

“Sweetpea, how are we feeling about clothes tonight?” Ed asked, watching as Stede folded carefully. “We can be as dressed or undressed as you like.” 

“Uhm…” Stede considered it - really considered it. He knew he wanted, needed, to see Ed in complete nakedness, but… by God, did that leather ensemble really do something for him. “Maybe… maybe when we’re playing you can keep the leather on?” 

“Oh yeah?” Ed stepped forward, hands curling into claws at Stede’s sides. “You like me in leather, huh?”

“Yehehes!” Stede giddily grappled for Ed’s tormenting hands. He relented after a moment and ran his hands up the silky fabric of Stede’s vest. 

“What about you, treasure? I’d like you to be honest, no judgement from me.” 

“I want you to touch me, touch my skin, but…” Stede looked down at where Ed’s hands rested on his chest. “I guess I’m a little shy.” 

“Alright, dove. How about this,” Ed’s hands dipped to rest on the buttons of his waistcoat. With a nod from Stede, he carefully undid them. “We’ll take this off but leave your shirt for now, hmm? I’ll start over the top, then see how we feel about taking it off, eh?” 

Stede let out a long breath. 

“I like that plan.”

“Lovely. Thank you for telling me, treasure.” 

Ed tugged his waistcoat down his shoulders, folding it neatly and placing it on top of his coat. He took his hand again and led him to the leather clad apparatus to the side of the room. 

Carefully, Stede sat down, letting Ed lift his feet to rest in the open stocks. Then, just as he had the night before, he unlaced his shoes and set them aside, chuckling a little at the sight of silk. 

“Did you like how it felt, being tickled over these pretty stockings?” Ed teased softly as he pulled the stocks shut and clicked the latch into place. Stede flexed his feet and squirmed as Ed stood and raised each wrist, securing them in the plush leather cuffs, pulling the straps closed. “Wiggle your fingers for me?” 

Stede did so, and Ed hummed happily. 

“Ed,” Stede whispered, tilting his head up in search of a kiss. Of course Ed obliged, pressing their mouths together sweetly. 

“Colour, treasure?”

“Green. My God Ed, this is wonderful.” 

“Good boy,” Ed kissed him again, deep and passionate. “Now I wonder… where should I start?” 

An anticipatory giggle slipped past Stede's lips before he could stop it. Ed's face was a picture of mischief as he stood, cracking his knuckles through his fingerless gloves. 

"What a lovely little feast I've got here," he hummed. He walked slowly from one side of the chair to the other, rounding his body, letting his fingers drift close to Stede’s body but not making contact. 

“Ehehehed!” Stede was twitching already without a single touch. 

“I know you don’t know where you’re ticklish, darling, apart from here -” Ed skittered his fingers quickly up the soles of his feet for only a moment before pulling away. Stede squealed and jerked in his bonds. “If you were, I would ask you to tell me when you’re most ticklish and save that for last, really build up to it. As it is, I suppose I’ll just have to get creative, huh?” 

Stede couldn’t help but groan, the combination of his predicament and Ed’s sultry teasing making his cock twitch in unbridled interest. Ed rested his arms on the top of the stocks and lent in, watching him closely for every reaction. 

“Ask me to tickle your feet, sweetheart.” 

Stede choked on a gasp, eyes widening a little as his stomach swooped with lust.

Stede let his head drop back as he whined petulantly, toes curling as if trying to jumpstart Ed’s hands into moving.

Stede had literally looked his boss in the eye and told him he was done being his bitch - Lucius’s influence - without breaking a sweat. This was somehow a thousand times worse. 

But Stede wanted this. He wanted to come undone under Ed’s hands. 

“Please… please tickle my feet, sir.” The word had been bouncing around his brain, and this felt like the proper time to say it. Judging by the heated look that fell over Ed’s face, Stede had got it exactly right. 

“There’s my good boy,” he rumbled, hands finally descending on the soles of his feet. Stede collapsed immediately into laughter, the feeling so much more intense now he wasn’t trying to keep his feet still. His hands clenched into fists as Ed tickled unrelentingly, focusing especially the spots that made him squeal.

He could happily drown in the way Ed’s words made him feel inside. So the dating sim is a Korean game called Dandelion Wishes Brought To You. It's a little older and it was made by the same company that did Mystic Messenger and I played it on Steam! The MC is this girl who is very unhappy with her life because she is forced by her mother to be a ridiculous overachiever in college and she isn't even sure what she wants to do with her future (honestly I found it really relatable lol). Anyways, she wakes up one day to find that someone left two cats and three rabbits in her house, and she decides to take them in. And eventually, once you raise enough affection with one of them, they... Turn into normal-looking hot dudes with animal ears that you can date lmao.

I know the premise is a little out there, and even I was kind of put off by it because of animal aspect (catboys and bunnyboys are usually not really my thing RIP), but I actually really loved it! The game itself is really fun and most of the characters are really compelling. And when they change they absolutely look like normal humans excpet for the animal ears, which is good. I can't really say much about why and how the animals showed up at her place, who left them there, and why they were even initially animals for plot/spoiler reasons (you don't have to play it ofc but I do recommend it if you're interested!), but it's all explained.

ANYWAYS, you can date any of the five dudes depending on whose route you get on, and my favorite is the silver bunny, whose name is Jihae <3 He's definitely more reserved, but he's always very polite and respectful to you even when you aren't trying to romance him. But when you ARE on his route and actively trying to romance him, oh my gosh he's so tender and kind and wonderful. He's also just really attentive and caring, and he dotes on you more and more the closer you get to him and it kills meeeee!!! It made me feel like a princess hehe. And he also has a really sad backstory (as a lot of dating sim love interests do lmao) and as much as I love him he also just makes me sad. He's so soft and gentle and as a shy girl who is also a big softie, I love it a lot <3

Also, after he becomes a human, he is like...so, so pretty. Like beautiful. He's got long silver hair and pretty blue eyes and he's really tall. I just love Jihae so much <333

There's also a tsundere bunnyboy who likes romance novels and an overprotective catboy if you're interested in the game lol. But obviously my silver bunny man is the one for me hehe :D Thank you for letting me ramble!!!

since you've played 2, then you can very much see how Majima's willing to get back into Tojo bullshit cuz Kiryu asked him to. It's certainly telling that Kiryu goes to Majima of all people for help when it comes to Tojo shit which I think is a nice way to show he respects him to some degree. As nice as Kiryu is tho, he can still be a rude lil turd and likes to make jabs. He’s got a tendency to say shit he thinks is cool even if its inappropriate lol

also like, Kiryu doesn't really know how to read Majima but also I don't think Kiryu knows how to read many people tbh. There's a wild freeness about Majima that Kiryu enjoys seeing and indulging in, like when they fight and he seems to actually have fun with it. I don't think he's 100% aware of why he enjoys it or why he's willing to put up with Majima's dumbassery but Kiryu doesn't really need answers. Majima is Majima and that simplicity works for him

there's a lot of stuff in Dead Souls that gives insight into Majima and because I'm ill of course I know all of it. Lots of softie moments, Majima's a bit of a control freak about his appearance, he's an ass but it's playful assholery, he loves his subordinates even if he's a turd @ them, he's forgetful as shit, he's a bit of a stickler for rules - by the book type of stuff. THERE'S ALSO a part with a lil girl and he's so cute and awkward with her and it fulfills my dadjima addiction. I think Maji would love Haruka very much and Kiryu would be pleasantly surprised by that side of him

in y3, it's Kiryu's big dad simulator so you get to see him being a wise old fart even if sometimes he's a total boomer and embarrassing. He tries his best and has the best intentions but honestly his lone wolf attitude is often his downfall. Kiryu's very much a "I'll take a bullet for you even if there's other options to definitely not take a bullet" type of guy. He blames himself for a lot of problems out of his control and he's got quite the track record of running away from things if he feels like it'll be for the greater good of everyone else (it isn't lol). Suffer in silence sort of dude

they honestly don't interact much after 3 tbh cuz I guess it was too gay lmao but uhhhh they're definitely still motivated by each other's actions. 5 is very big on Kiryu beats up a lot of people again™, due to something that happens to Majima. At that point, Kiryu's life is quite far removed from the whole yakuza thing so I think it says a lot that he throws himself back into the fray for this bowlcut bitch

also! Majima’s wacky but it’s most certainly a façade. He’s very capable of toning it down in serious situations and equally, Kiryu’s a funky dude! Majima’s the type to put up fronts for his image while Kiryu’s very reserved but will absolutely go all out on something cuz he just can’t not put his 100% into everything even if it’s silly

Gotham Villains x Hotel Owner!Reader || Headcanons

Explanation / Topic: You run one of the cities dingy hotels except this one, in all of its glory, is only ever visited by bad guys. Your hotel is well known as the place rogues hide away in when they're planning or they're just out of action for a while because you refuse to give up information to the police no matter what (Its proprietor-client confidentiality! Ha ha) and you're treat them fairly (Although- on the kinder side of course)

These are the many ways they show their gratitude, no matter how small.

Character involved: Most, if not all, of Fox Gotham's rogues. Except Ra's Al Ghul because he bores me. Nevertheless, not just the Legion Horrible's like the picture might lead you to believe- that's just the picture with the most villains that I could think of.

Warnings: Probably too much fluff. I'll make a sequel to this with the less-then-pretty, nitty grotty details of this hotel too probably XD

Barbara likes to invest every now and then, "Just making sure my affairs are in order baby- gotta make sure my hidey hole's still there when I need it." but she always adds a little something for you to buy yourself 'something pretty' (Since your style is SO plain, according to her but then again who isn't plain compared to her XD). You don't know Ecco too well yet and vice versa but when she turned up with Jeremiah and Jervis- you definitely appreciated her presence more then that of Jeremiah's. You were still sore over Jerome and didn't trust this new brother. Still, you complimented the bullet in Ecco's skull, saying it was pretty cool, and now she loves you XD When she's in the neighbourhood she occasionally likes to pop in and say hello; Spread a little chaos, you know the deal.

Honestly you probably new Bridgit long before Strange forcing upon her the heat resistance thing and her becoming Firefly. She of course didn't remember you but soon *warmed* up to you after you gave her one of the few rooms with a fireplace and easily forgave her when she accidentally set the couch in her room on fire (I mean its for sure not the worst thing that has happened within these walls- no worries). She has been known to go around lighting the fireplaces for you under the pretence of having fun (Which is true) but also so that you can worry about one less thing. Firefly is also one to come chat with you if she's bored.

Fish Mooney obviously doesn't stay with you very often at all, because this lady can find better dwellings (As, no offense but your hotel is kiiiiinda dingy. What can you do about it, though? You house rogues and a lot of them don't have a lotta money) but she still absolutely appreciates what you do. She'll send bad guys that she does business with that have deeper pockets then your usual client, your way. She's also kind to you, which to me is even better honestly haha XD

Headhunter stays with you a lot when he's on business and often reminds you that you get a discount from him if you require his services. Hey, you keep him in milkshakes! He's gotta repay you somehow.

Okay, the twins. You knew Jerome first and got off to a bad start with Jeremiah due to that. Still, we aren't talking about relationships; We're talking about nice things. So moving on. Just assume that you warm up to the brainier twin.

These two are hard XD Cuz their 'good' and 'bad' sides kinda blur together as they're so unpredictable and don't really care about anyone.

Still, I can see Jerome being pretty light with you and valuing the fact that you can keep up with his banter- so he keeps you alive. You're basically his mother actually, despite the possible lack of age difference. Like, he wants to show you stuff he does and tell you about chaos he's created.

And Jeremiah honestly appreciates that you'll listen to his long speeches (You've gotten pretty good at just sitting and nodding your head and you've perfected the art of the well placed understanding noises like 'Hmm' and 'Ah!' and 'Oh dear' in your line of work)- so obviously, you're invaluable to him. Must keep you around. I mean, Ecco listens, but does she really understand? That is the question.

When he's around, Jervis is very polite and gracious. He'll duck into the kitchens after dinner and start helping you with the dishes and clear dining tables, he'll ask you how you are and mean it (Like, he'll stand there and discuss it with you), he'll try to keep Jerome from barging into your room in the early hours of the morning, etc. Just nice things like that ^^

Magpie tries not to steal from you... Haha XD Like, she'll pick up a pretty clock off a mantle piece and then go to leave with it... then realise that this is yours and go 'Oops!!' and put it back, giggling nervously.

... When she leaves you still find various items from other places in the hotel, in her room, but still. The fact that she tries is enough!

Mr Freeze is a pleasure to have around, of course!! He's quiet, he nods to you when he passes, and he's there to freeze assholes that harass you (And then take them outside so they don't melt all over your carpet). A respectful dude. He has frozen Jerome multiple times... particularly when Jervis has been unsuccessful in persuading him not to wake you up at 3 in the morning.

Ivy gets so happy whenever she sees you. Lots of hugs and telling you all about how she's been. Her energy is enough to cheer you up, and on your birthdays she always brings you a new plant that has meaning to her. Like, a sunflower for how kind you are, a Ficus for abundance, etc. Always in a pot of course, never dead. So of course, you have to take care of them but its a small price to pay for the sweetness ^^ And the not being murdered thing.

Like Mooney and Barbara, Oswald doesn't stay often due to having that mansion from his father but he remembers your kindness from when he would fall on hard times before that (And after the fact, too of course) and whenever he's making some kind of mafia deal he always ensures your and your hotels safety in the contract.

Alignment :: What would be their D&D alignment? How might it come into play?

Probably a Neutral Good who likes to think he’s more Chaotic Good. He lives to help people and can’t just, leave them to suffer, regardless of who they are, and puts others above himself - and expects the law to be used to further moral compassion as opposed to selfish gain.

He considers the laws and domino effects at least, usually, but does understand that they sometimes hinder as opposed to help, otherwise he’d probably be more chaotic good leaning

Insomnia :: What’s their sleeping schedule like? Snorer? Sound sleeper?

He usually falls asleep later at night (12pm -1pm), if he can get away for it, and sleeps for HOURS. He’s 100% the type of person who can sleep for 10-12 hours and call it a nap! Due to everything that’s been going on though, he usually gets less, around 4 - 6 usually (Ford why are you like this?!)

He also sleeps like a bear. Getting to sleep the slightest noise will irritate and wake him up (and he’s real mean about being woken up), but he’ll sleep like the dead once he’s out; he also ends up slowly going from curled up in a ball to spread eagle and usually drools on himself, but doesn’t snore. He takes another hour or two to wake up once he’s awake and it’s widely known in the Pact that if Ford’s shuffling round in a dressing gown (hood up), and slowly chewing food while yawning and looking tired - you don’t approach him. Hobby :: What’s something they do for fun that might be surprising?

Fun? Never heard of it! 

Ford LOVES poetry, he gets very emotional reading or hearing poetry. It probably came from Trahearne showing him poems, but he absolutely loves poetry, especially slam! And lie-ins, no one expects the Commander to be a lazy ‘stay in bed all day’ type but here he is, snug in warm fluffy clothes, tons of blankets, pillows and plushies, and he ain’t moving. Ever

Network :: Are they connected to the people? How much do they reach out to others?

Ford has the social skills of a drunk goldfish. He tries to keep in contact with people, but is actually pretty introverted, so he spends quite a bit of time on his own. He also never really contacts people much, worried he’ll annoy them, and only does it on certain occasions, or to ask if he can drop by - on the flip side, he NEVER reaches out to people. He keeps everything bottled up and then he’ll die and deals with things privately, partly due to his worry over his image as the Commander, and partly just cuz that’s how he is! Night blooms am I right?

Escape :: What do they do to destress? How successful is it?

No de-stress, only more stress.

Ford usually just process things privately to get the stress out (and by that I mean he either goes for a swim and cries and rages underwater so no one can hear him, or cries while muffled by all the blankets) which helps if its just something he needs to let out and process, but otherwise it varies. He tends to spiral so it does get alot of things out at once but oh its so not healthy

He also likes to cuddle the baby skyscales and coddle his mounts to de-stress. That’s his favourite method.

Fluff :: What hits their soft spot? Does anything them into emotional goo?

Emotionally? Any kind of affection; words of adoration, affection and appreciation get him REAL GOOD, and he’ll get super emotional if ‘I love you’s are exchanged. Also romance. He’s a real big softie tbh its not hard to make him get all soft with people. 

Physically? Petting his hair. A good head stroke and he is GONE, instant flopping and sleepy time for him. He’s too embarrassed to ask for it, but if someone pets his head or runs their fingers through his spines he’s absolute goo in seconds. Also loves just, casual leaning and contact when someones close by.

 Offspring :: What kind of parent would they be? Would they prefer one, or multiple?

Based on the skyscales, Ford is the parent who tries to be kind but fair, but spoils them rotten and panics that they hate him and is smothering them with love two minutes after telling them off. Gorrik hates the fact he’s the disciplinary parent cuz they’d be running amok if Ford raised them alone. 

While he doesn’t want kids (he’s terrified of babies; he WILL drop them and they will both cry), at least not at the moment, he’d prefer two. So they can keep each other company and rely on each other when he’s not there. Maybe with a bit of a gap between the two

Reminder :: How are they at remembering daily needs? What falls through the cracks?

He actually has a very good memory for routines and doing x,y,z thing (like checking tack, fixing armour), and only occasionally will forget to eat - he’s not good at remembering the time he has to do things (like say, eat at lunch) and will have to be reminded otherwise he’ll just suddenly be feeling grumpy and be all confused until he goes “OH SHIT! I forgot food!”

Decor :: What kind of home do they keep? Are there any defining details?

His home in the Grove is actually pretty sparse. He rarely visits, and if he stays its not for long, so there’s only really a bed, table and chair, and a chest to keep stuff in. It’s pretty generic for sylvari, but he does have one plush from when he was a sapling on the bed.
