I was not going to say anything, but Pecco has been pissing me off recently so here it is. A rant why all he said is wrong.

Let’s start with him asking a difference between the official and satellite bike. If he managed to get what he wants, development will be slower because only oficial riders will do it. Ducati will no longer use 4-8 riders for the job will be on the official rider’s plates which means:

1) Less time for the set up because you need to focus on the development 2) Slower development because it will be done by 1 or 2 riders because factories will no longer gave new stuff to no-official riders.

At the end of the day, Pecco who complained about having to test, set up the bike and race will have to do it all over again. And he is not ready for hat. If he can’t see his own mistakes, not even when other riders suggest them he is not ready for that responsibility.

About the Fantastic 4 (either Vale-Jorge-Dani-Casey or Vale-Jorge-Dani-Marc) they were on official bikes because they won those places. They were fast because it’s in their ADN and they showed they deserved the official bikes. Dani had said multiple times, for Honda to trust him in 125cc and 250cc he had to prove how fast he was. They where in a factory bike because they showed their potencial and made him ear first the trust and then the spot. Definitely they were not winning because they where there, they where there because they where winning.

About Augusto, he himself said it, he was 4th not due to his pace, it was because he was smart about it. He just went with Zarco because it was a pace above his but just enough that allowed him to do it. Augusto did not override the bike or just did more than he could. He was smart something that other riders can’t said. Plus other rookies had have better results than him. Look at Marc or Dani or Fabio or Brad for example. Rookies have the potential to be wherever they want if they are smart and take it easy.

About not being able to overtake several riders at the same time and how dangerous the first lap is, it all comes to the same thing. Be smart. Brad and Rins do several overtakes just by having better launches and taking the smart line. They don’t engage in pointless fights at the first lap and using the fights some riders do to overtake both riders. Also returning to the pace difference between factory and satellite bikes, first laps will be even more carnage because unless you can actually make them qualify first 10 places official and other places the satellites, there will be more contact as the satellites will try to be in front of the factory even more to show they deserve that factory spot.

And finally, do you know how to solve all those problems? Ban the fucking aero. No aero means that the track will become “wider” and will actually allow more fights, more overtaking and less contact. But of course, aero is Ducati’s signature and you won’t ask for it.

Thank you so much for your answer about the factory and satellite bikes, and I think my brain is not cooperating with me so early in the morning but what was exactly the issue with Pecco -if it is too controversial to answer you can totally ignore this, also I’m a Pecco fan but I don’t care if he did something controversial I will be the first to say something cuz why would I defend him if did something controversial/wrong-

I'm glad I helped you.

I put it under the cut not because it was particularly bad, actually him being a whinny rider and using the media is not the worst he has done. I did it because some Pecco fans, the same way that there are Fabio and I imagine other riders too, get angry when you show or talk bad about their riders. The issue here is that some fans have put riders in a pedestal and won't recognize that they are (mostly) white privileged (yes some suffered hardship to reach the top, but now they have whatever they want in their hands) men that can committee errors and mistake and Pecco has committee several off track.

A while ago another anon asked me about problematic riders and I did a whole compilation (here), but this is Pecco's;

-Mysogenistic comments: 'I was like a women in my period complaining ad moaning' after he broke his leg.He never apologised for his (it was when he was a Pramac rider).

- DIU: during the 2022 summer got drunk in Ibiza, got in the car and had an accident (crashed it into a roundabout) and only got a slap in the wrist. Him and Ducati swept it under the rug and prohibited a journalist from talking about this. They even banned one journalist (I can't remember who) from going to their hospitality and doing their job.

- Dennis Rodman special helmet (if you don't know him, go and read his wiki page).

- Media: he goes to the media and cry. He nearly believes no one can race him on a race track. He has previously said satellite bikes need to be slower than factory bikes and complained when other riders raced against him. And lets say something on Saturday he wasn't the cleanest rider to be giving lessons.

I don't remember anything else back then, and I still don't remember anything more now.

Look you can be a Pecco fan and I don't have a problem with that, last year I preferred him over Fabio to win the championship. My problem is with the nearly fanatic fans some riders attract and this post is not to turn any one against Pecco (or any other rider), I mean we are all free to like who we want (I like the Dani, who actually spend a night in jail (and apparently there's another who spend a whole week (?) in a Japanesse jail) and pretend it never happen, just acknowledge that riders are human and make mistake.

Just saying, does anyone remember that interview that a certain person did where they said they wanted less competition and a bigger gap between themselves on the factory bikes and the satellite bikes.

Yeah, would just like to ask anyone else if they think there was any genuine competition from said satellite bikes today? Cause there wasn’t to me and that sure as hell is coincidental isnt it…

I’m the anon that asked about Pecco and the factory vs satellite bikes, I just finished my hospital shift and I’m literally sat in my car right now cuz I’ve been waiting to read your answer since I got the notification on my phone that you posted, and I just want to say that I will never get why some fans love putting riders or drivers on a pedestal and say that they never do any wrong, they ARE in fact human even if some feel like they aren’t -Marc I’m looking at you- but yeah they are human and make mistakes and they should apologise and never repeat it, but what pissed me the most about Pecco is him driving while drunk cuz as a trauma surgeon I will never forgive anyone who knows that they are drunk and make the choice to drive, and then his comment about periods; kindly shut the fuck up Pecco, I love you and support you as a rider but that made me lose some respect I have for him as a person, women don’t whine when they have their periods: I just finished being on call for 24 hours while I’m on my first day and wanted to die when I was doing a surgery and my back and stomach were killing me but I never complained, so for him as a man who never experienced period pain to come and say that he was in so much pain that he complained like a woman on period.

and I just realised that this is a long ask but thank you so much for being a safe space and hold the riders accountable when they do mistakes cuz they are human and we all make mistakes no matter how we try and not make any mistake it’s how we learn to grow as human; so yeah if my favourite driver or rider said or did something bad I will talk about it and hold him accountable and not forget about it like some fans do

People really have notifications for when I post? Really? I mean I'm just a regular girl in my corner making silly post and ranting. It seriously flatters me.

I think the difference is being a fan or a hooligan. A fan or a true fan understands that behind the PR there's a human and they either understand or ignore it. A hooligan will actually defend them because they have put them in a pedestal. I don't understand why people just refuses to believe they little guy is capable of bad things, but as we have been saying all day long, they are human and they make mistake. I hope he learned from them, which is the important. And apology, which not everyone did.

My guess is because it was summer break and Ibiza. I find it incredible is that Spanish police let him off the hook because of who he was. If I did that (I'm Spaniard, or for the matter anyone), we lost points in or driving license and have to pay fines, jail time even depending on the implications. We have to thank he didn't get injured, and that he crashed in a roundabout, because he could have crashed into a house, or a cliff, or worst killed someone.

About the period comment, I'm just going to say there a general misbelieve that women are the weak sex, and I love to see men try the period cramp simulations. At level 1 some of them are already crying. I do know that pain tolerance is something that varies from person to person, but generally speaking, women have a higher pain tolerance than men. I'm a women, and lucky I've never suffer on my period, but I head is like 10x a quick in the balls, and we all know how much guys complain and need to recover from that. So next time, try to use that.

This just reminded me of the meme with football players with a male on the floor crying and asking to be changed and a stretcher BECAUSE ANOTHER PLAYER STEPPED ON HIM , while a female is asking the coach to not change them when she is actively bleeding. Which just illustrates that maybe are guys the weak ones.

Hey don't worry, unless you are being on purpose an ass of coming with hate, this will always be a safe space. It will always be a space open to discussion (with respect) when we don't share opinions because I love to learn other people's point of view or different opinions or informations.
