The triplets will be aging up to young adults pretty soon (not too soon, but soon enough), which will mean the end of the 28 Blind Dates: After the Costumes challenge (nope, I never intended for this challenge to turn into a legacy). However, they’ll be back, but I’m not revealing when or where.
The last few posts focused on each triplet, in turn, to help us get to know them a little better. I hope it helped. But now I’m curious, which triplet has captured your heart? I definitely have a favorite, but I’d like to know which is your favorite and why? Thanks in advance for participating.
(Oh, and if you couldn’t tell the girls apart- when they are not in their school uniform, Melisa is always dressed in pink, with curlier afro-textured hair, and Jamelia is usually dressed in orange, yellow, or purple with looser/wavy hair).

Dear 91teivos,
Mod Vera: Thanks! Everyone in the world is going through some kind of existential crisis, so it made sense for the AA characters to join the party! (And since it was another follower who gave us the idea, we might just keep that idea in the think that after all...)
Tumblr media
Dear dawsongfg,
Mod Vera: No need to apologize! We like to space out letters from specific people a little, but we’ll answer as many as we can!
Tumblr media
(Referenced Letter)
Dear Bluedragoncody,
Co-Mod: Don’t worry.  I doubt they’ll have much luck against the Ace Attorney crew, even without the Proto Badger.  They have the ultimate weapon against despair in their arsenal, after all.
Tumblr media
...They’re doomed, aren’t they?
I can’t make any promises, but if I ever gain enough skill in the art of animation (which has been a dream of mine for a long time, it turns out), I’ll keep that idea in mind.
Tumblr media
Dear skibot99,
Mod Vera: Probably Tumblr bein’ weird. (What else is new?)
Tumblr media
Dear sheeeesh,
Mod Vera: Mods get brought on as needed, as you can see with the arrival of Mod Edgeworth! Also, DGS2 is one of the few AA titles I’ve never played, but rest assured. Where there’s a letter, there’s a Mod who can answer it!
Mod Edgeworth: To add to Mod Vera, even if you weren’t accepted during any mod applications, that doesn’t mean you have lost all chances. I applied early January and lost to Mod Vera. Regardless, Co-Mod informed me that, even though I was rejected, he saw my potential and kept me in mind for if I was ever needed. Now, here I am.
Just because you get rejected, that doesn’t mean it’s game over. Show that you have potential and make yourself known by sending letters to us. That is what I did, after being rejected. I made myself known to the mods by sending letters. We do read them and they tell us how much you know the characters and games of AA more than any application. Of course, you must also follow the guidelines. That just goes without saying.
Co-Mod: I think my actual words were something like “Don’t tell anyone, but you were my second choice.”  But yeah, what they said is true -- becoming a Mod here, like many things, may or may not happen to you, but you can definitely increase your chances by waiting patiently and demonstrating your potential.
As for DGS2 letters, I’m afraid those are still off-limits unless you know of a way to play or watch the game in its entirety, translated into English.  I guess I could check to see if the Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 channel finished translating...
Tumblr media
(Translation: Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?!  ...D-Don’t tell me?!)
...Okay, looks like I have some watching to do.  Don’t know how I missed that.
So, uh...  That part in bold was what I was going to say.  Now that both games are finally getting an official English version, all I can say is, hang tight!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Previous Post)
Dear Inferno again,
Co-Mod: Yeah, I agree.  I was just joking around.  For anyone who didn’t catch it, that was a reference to Sbemail #108.
The event’s technically over, but we’ll answer the rest of the April Fools’ Day letters when they reach the bottom of the queue.  I’m as eager to see Trucy’s reaction to the news (after the stunned silence) as anyone else, after all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Video in Letter -- Strong Language Warning)
Dear Ella,
Mod Edgeworth:
Tumblr media
I can’t see the first link and....
Tumblr media
How did you find this masterpiece and where can I play this game?
Co-Mod: We don’t check for direct messages on Tumblr, if that’s what you’re referring to, so it wouldn’t have made any difference anyway.  You can always send links in your letters, of course.
Tumblr media
(Previous Post)
Dear Inferno,
Mod Edgeworth: That mad lad would be me and thank you.
Tumblr media
I like to put my heart and effort when answering these letters. With this one, I figured you wanted to see Trucy in costume, so I just searched up an image on Google for the Ancient One’s costume, a sprite of Trucy and a bald head to put on her. The rest I photoshopped on GIMP.
We’re still going through letters from January. Hopefully we will get the rest of yours soon enough.
Tumblr media
Mod Edgeworth: Thank you very much. Your support and the others’ support that have liked, commented and reblogged it mean a lot. As you have stated, a majority of the fandom seem to consider him the worst. I’d like to think it’s because how AA had created this villain of a character to be universally hated was pure genius. Not even the Phantom gets this much hate… and that’s saying something.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, I’d like to keep my real identity outside this blog a secret. I write a lot of letters here and I don’t want to break the spell for anyone. Think of it like a Disney theme park. The cast that play the characters will never admit their true identities, outside of family and close friends, to prevent the experience from being ruined. I want to do the same as a Mod. I don’t want to break the spell of writing to your favorite AA characters. This blog had helped me through my tough times and I want to help everyone else as a mod.
However, I will answer your letters and, if you post anything on your account, a mysterious friend I know may linger and give you a like ;)
Tumblr media
(Previous Letter)
Dear Ali S. Fakenamington,
Co-Mod: Beautifully so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Previous Letter)
Dear Sinyove,
Mod Edgeworth: That letter was made in 2012 before AA5 and AA6, which was WAY before I became a part of the AA fandom. I’m certain a lot of us were not here when this letter was made, except maybe Co-Mod, but you’ll have to speak with him about this. I will say that the mod that answered this is no longer working here... I think. At the very least, I haven’t heard from him.
That being said, AA4 or Apollo Justice was the first AA game I’ve ever played. Despite all of the hate I saw towards that game, I still loved it regardless. Though, having not played the trilogy, playing the tutorial of AJ was a pain in the ass. I remember going to YouTube to find out how to beat it, because it was so hard. I also played it on PC.
I do see where The Mod was coming from. Had the two sequel games never existed, Apollo Justice would have more holes than my brothers’ socks. My only critique is that Phoenix wasn’t any better either with having Mia babysitting him during almost every trial AND investigations. Hell, Phoenix needed Mia to know how to talk to a kid, talk to a perverted old man, almost gave up in most of his trials in the first game and never conducted a trial without Mia until Turnabout Goodbyes when Maya literally couldn’t summon her. For the most part, Apollo was doing fine on his own without Phoenix, with only Trucy assisting him for the two middle trials, only almost giving up once and Phoenix having assisted him during times when Apollo was not in a normal situation (like when the criminal turned out to be his own co-council/mentor or when he had to lead a trial that included the Jury System). That’s more than Phoenix ever did on his own in the first two games and I think Apollo deserves more credit than he got in that letter in my opinion.
Tumblr media
For me, Apollo Justice is one of those games you either like or you hate. I love it for what it is. My least favorite AA game would have to be Ace Attorney Investigations, the first game. The second one is my absolute favorite.
Co-Mod: Sadly, I haven’t seen or heard from the Mod in a while, so it may be time for us to declare him MIA again.
Tumblr media
Erm...  Sorry, poor choice of words.
I’m fairly certain I wasn’t around 5 years long ago, but I have to say, Capcom did a great job of making Apollo and his story more interesting over time.  He may not be Phoenix, but he certainly carried his legacy forward pretty well, both as an attorney and as an Ace Attorney protagonist.
Now, WHAT ABOUT ATHENA ALREADY!?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dear BDC,
Co-Mod: It fits like a glove, if you ask me...although it also kind of reminds me of 101 Dalmatians.  And thanks for that bit of info!  I never get tired of watching people enjoying the fun dialogue and plot twists of Ace Attorney, so I might have to look him up.
I’m not sure I feel the same about watching Dahlia’s voice actress, though.  I’m sure she’s a nice person and all, but the thought of hearing that voice for so long...  *shudder*
Tumblr media
(Previous Letter)
Dear dawsongfg again,
Co-Mod: I wasn’t trying to say that natural deaths can’t happen in the Ace Attorney universe, just that most deaths aren’t what they seem.  I knew right away that Archie Buff’s death was no accident, for one thing.  Waaaaay too much of a coincidence, know what I mean?

Creating Super Kids Tips To Maximize Your Little one's Skill.
Beginning Oct 2017, Tencent started testing the integration of Sogou Search into Weixin/Wechat, the effect which needs to not be taken too lightly. Here it could be observed that the instance variables are personal right now and also incredibly() is actually made use of to initialize the variables residing in the tremendously class therefore staying away from copying from code as well as guaranteeing appropriate encapsulation. It appears peculiar for a group to use clothing of super heroes and also one member use a costume of Donald Duck. After a prosperous IPO, Akcea's $150M credit rating location along with its own parent Ionis will certainly disappear and also the balance due, presently at $91 million, will be actually converted into equity. KKR is also taking over joint-management (with FS) at a number of various other FS Expenditure (the parent from FSIC) BDC vehicles. Being actually an excellent parent is most definitely the hardest project in the world yet has to additionally be one of the most satisfying when done well. That transforms in to P.A.S. when a kid adopts the distorted fact of the pushing away moms and dad, rejects the aim at as well as proactively takes part in derogating him. Merely visualize how hard seeing would certainly be actually if you stayed in Bedok while your moms and dad( s) remained at a retirement home in Woodlands or even Johor Bahru. Parent Details Evening is Thursday evening and I've been acquiring a number of stuff all set! At your family's Easter function, an individual consistently demands Poznajtajnikipiekna18.info the dish for your outstanding glazed carrots. Remember, when a moms and dad stabs in the back this work, despite just how unimportant it might seem at the moment, the child has actually learnt how to disrespect you and also your term as an authority. When the one parent offered the schedule revealed to the various other, the battle ended and also their kid ended up being the named beneficiary. That is actually equally as necessary that can help all of them drop additional pounds as this is actually to make sure that they feel great about on their own and also their abilities. Then it invested those $6 billion in the negative banking company - that became the poor financial institution's financing. I have actually never had any kind of public action taken due to my shortage from interaction with a parent. This implies that as a separated moms and dad you need to have the ability to put your kid to begin with irrespective of how you feel to your companion and seeking splitting up advice can assist you in managing your feelings. If a parent does not give shelter for their youngsters for some reason after that the parent will most likely be checked out through Social Providers and may even be nabbed. Sesame Street Halloween Costumes.
Buying is just one of the primary factors folks flock to London in their stockpiles all the time. His internet site,, is actually presently the most preferred individual advancement website around the world, obtaining over 1.8 thousand visitors per month. A traditional morning setting in Burial Ground Street( Playground Road) perhaps in the 1930's or 40's. Acquisition the residential property with your Metalli-money, while constructing arenas and also arenas on each road for the best assessment! Overall, Ma Rainey's biggest legacy is that of an outstanding musical job that will certainly continuously work as a groundwork for several well-liked musicians to find. Both these feelings are actually demonstrated generally manner and shoe trends-- and so also in the metropolitan and road style sector. Buyer holiday investing in the traditional brick-and-mortar higher road outlets was, for many sellers, one thing of a frustration. Nonetheless, just what helps make Main Street such a standout BDC isn't really its dimension or even its exact company style, yet somewhat its outstanding monitoring team, which has among the most effective performance history in its own sector. Middlesex Road was in the past called Petticoat Lane, which is how that is still generally understood, popular for its own street market. This allows the pairing from terms as well as reappearing motifs from discrimination to become reviewed throughout each one of Seventh Road.
Charles Tyrwhitt has instantly become one from one of the most significant ad sought-after companies located and thriving in the premium Jermyn Street. We must figure out through what does it cost?, and in doing this our experts will certainly discover just what Commercial cares about. Key Street Resources Corporation was actually started in 1997 and is actually based at Houston, Texas. Without a doubt, it is these forms of criminal activity that are 'the bread and butter of prominent journalism', and also hence, the press media help shape the commonsense view that the general public sphere is actually rife with danger. I really did not observe a http://dbajosiebie-blog.pl/ mention from Weird Imagination in New Cross. near one of the old Popular Manual Centres (that utilized to print & all their comics!). A trend in apparel wear that has actually been actually spreading out recently like wildfire around the nation is actually referred to as urban road damage. Famous cyclists like Garrett Reynolds could be viewed in some, yet several of the absolute most well-known video recordings are homemade with a routine video camera. The life expectancy of an LED street light is actually established through its own light result compared with its original design spec. In the slideshow below, we've put together the best metropolitan areas for street art around the world. OpenLeft is a news, evaluation and activity internet site dedicated toward constructing a dynamic controling a large number in The United States, brought to you by the previous editor of the well-liked MyDD weblog. This is actually certainly not the best club to locate as the road label appears to have different English punctuations, featuring Qingcheng Street. The Oslon Area Personal Computer and also UW are made for exterior requests, e.g. in street illumination. In one situation, a person which ate among the hot dogs endured a minor oral accident," the USDA's Food items Safety as well as Evaluation Company claimed in a statement. Market America Investigation
In the course of our researches, we always check online sales portals like Amazon and eBay. There, we find more unbiased customer reviews than the ones supplement companies choose to put on their product websites. That way, we get a balanced idea of how people who’ve bought those supplements feel about their purchase.
Recently we were looking into the Isotonix range from Market America, and were surprised to see how many people were selling products from that range on both Amazon and eBay.
And we were even more surprised to see how many other Market America products were being sold there, such as their Isotonix and TLS Weight Loss Solution ranges.
What startled us most, though, was the number of multiple bottles of Market America products that were on sale there: it looked like people had ordered bottles in bulk and decided not to finish what would have been a very long course of that particular supplement.
Had they given up on their long-term supplement course, or was there something a little more sinister going on? We love a mystery, so we looked a little closer at Market America and their supplements … and this is what we found.
WHAT’S THE COMPANY?
Market America sells literally thousands of proprietary products through its website, including tonics, weight-loss programs, health tonics, supplements and household cleaners. The most popular (and profitable) of which is the Isotonix range of supplements.
Founded in 1992, Market America is the brainchild of multimillionaire JD Ridinger and his wife Loren. After Ridinger’s fifteen-year learning journey through the direct-selling industry, which included working with Amway and Legacy International, he and Loren started off by selling ‘cheap costume jewelry and ersatz weight-loss products’.
Loren started up the Motives and fixx cosmetic lines, which have had endorsements from such figures and Eva Longoria and Kim Kardashian.
SOUNDS GOOD – WHAT’S THE CATCH?
Other names we’ve heard people say were mentioned by Market America were those of Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Amazon and Yahoo. They were just mentioned, apparently, but they did leave those less inclined to check things out to assume that they’ve all been involved with the company one way or another.
To start with, Bill Gates, Amazon and Yahoo weren’t exactly closely linked with Ridinger: they were actually early investors in Shop.com, which was then sold to Market America. As for Warren Buffett, we couldn’t find anything at all to link him with the company in any kind of way.
There are other little niggling issues, such as allegations from the Securities and Exchange Commission of the company’s violation of federal securities laws. Although there wasn’t any kind of admission or denial, Market America did promise never to do what they did again.
One catch is the problem with the product: the quality of Market America supplements is, we’ve discovered, the same as that of products you can pick up in your local health food shop for half the price.
But a very big catch is the way these products are sold: yes, you can buy them from the Market America website, and you’ll see many affiliate websites linking to it. These could be sites belonging to medical professionals around the country wishing to add to their bottom line, or those of not-so-independent Market America distributors (often referred to as UFOs, or UnFranchise Owners).
So we went to the Market America site and looked up ‘The UnFranchise Business – a proven plan for your financial success’. Reading through the initial paragraph, we saw ‘There are two ways to earn income’. Basically, there’s the ‘gross retail profit by servicing the needs and wants of 10-15 Preferred Customers’. And then there’s the option to ‘duplicate your efforts by creating a sales organisation with others doing the same’.
And then, not too far below we found the diagram headed ‘Three ways to earn income’.
OK, so that was confusing, but there’s more confusion to follow later on, when we take a very quick look at what’s in Market America’s operations manual.
So what is ‘The UnFranchise Business’, anyway? Well, Market America prefers its name to be linked – however indirectly – with the concept of franchising, rather than being seen as a multi-level marketing operation. Even though that’s exactly what it is. You could even go so far as to call it a pyramid scheme. But more about that later.
WILL THEIR PRODUCTS HELP ME LOSE WEIGHT?
Good question.
While we were looking through Market America’s most recent TLS Weight Loss Solution blog, we couldn’t help remembering some years back when Dr Oz got himself an official wrist-slapping – together with a lawsuit – for promoting a couple of alleged weight loss products.
One of these products was Garcinia Cambogia, which he heralded as the kind of supplement you could take and watch the pounds fall away without having to take any kind of exercise. How appealing did that sound?
And the other product was Green Coffee Beans, heavily promoted on the Dr Oz show by someone who dressed up to look like a real doctor.
This was the guy who’d arranged things so that anyone googling Green Coffee Beans would land on one of his Green Coffee Bean websites. And there, they’d buy one of his green coffee bean products. These products were made from all the green coffee beans he’d bought up from other suppliers, leaving them with very little stock of their own to sell – if any. How ethical does that sound?
It sounds much less ethical than the people who’d written the second clinical study about green coffee beans: the first version didn’t hype those beans as much as people selling them hoped. The second version told the world just how awesome these beans were, without being altogether honest about it. But then the people who’d written that second version made their ethical decision and retracted it.
And now we’re back to the present day. Just out of interest, what do you think the most recent TLS Weightloss Solution blog is telling Market America distributors to push – sorry, promote?
It’s not just Garcinia Cambogia. And it’s not just Green Coffee Beans. Yes, folks, this edition of the blog is promoting (fanfare, please) TLS Green Coffee Plus Garcinia Cambogia.
There’s the slight possibility you could lose weight with this product … but then again there’s also the absolute certainty that at $39.95 for a 30-day supply, over time you’re going to end up a lot lighter in the pocketbook.
WHAT’S THE PROBLEM WITH THE COMPANY?
Jon M Taylor, President of the Consumer Awareness Institute, refers to a study of MLM companies like Market America which shows that ‘99.6% of new distributors’ results end up in financial loss’.
And Market America are upfront and honest about the fact, albeit only in the tiniest of tiny print right at the back of their recruitment booklet.
The biggest problem is that Market America is different from other MLM operations in that instead of having one downline, it’s got two. That means distributors can’t make any money unless both their downlines have performed according to the rulebook each month.
Or, as Market America itself says in an operation manual, quote:
Failure to meet the Three-Q-Date Period requirements—150PBV ordered and Form 1000 submitted—will cause accrued Group Business Volume totals to be flushed (erased to 0) and accumulated Personal Business Volume to be purged erased to 0) [sic] from the distributor’s BDC(s).
Got that? Good.
Translated into plain English, that means if Market America distributors haven’t bought or sold enough product in a given period of time then their bonus – that’s where all their best income comes from – gets withdrawn and, strangely enough, finds itself getting redistributed elsewhere. It’s hard not to assume it gets handed out further up the upline. A lot further up.
The odds are definitely stacked in favour of those at the very top of all those downlines, as much as they’re definitely stacked against the newbies lured by promises of an average $60,000 annual income, but who haven’t read the small print.
First off, those newbies have to find at least $139 just to join Market America, plus $399 for the starter kit. And then there’s the initial product purchase which was around $700 last time we looked (well, you’ve got to buy products from somewhere to sell them on to your customers).
And let’s not forget the regular ongoing monthly payments for products and web support. Plus the annual fee just for being part of Market America.
Then there are other costs to take into consideration: newbies need to attend presentations and other events featuring appearances from some of those considerably fewer than 1-3% Market America personnel who make much more than the $1,000 referred to earlier.
And in fact they make much, much more than the ‘average’ $60,000 a year touted. Then again, they’re much further up the Market America upline than the average distributor.
Local events, whether they’re just cult-like get-togethers or proper sales training seminars, can cost $30 or more to attend. Regional ones are a bit steeper at $100+, and as for international events, those would be priced at $500 or more. So let’s not even think about travel and accommodation costs here.
But that’s just for selling the product.
We mentioned the downline aspect of Market America earlier on, and how it differed from other MLM operations in that rather than just having one downline to depend upon for meeting your monthly sales quota, there are two.
Essentially, that’s halving the chances of actually making any money because both legs of the downline have to perform appropriately for any bonuses to happen.
And where would you get your downline from? Friends, family, co-workers, strangers on the street – anyone capable of drawing breath is a potential downliner and basic recruitment targets.
You can lose a lot of friends that way.
Some complaints online (and there are lots and lots of those) include the number of people you’re required to try and place in your downlines. One bitter ex-Market America distributor wrote on ripoffreport.com that they were expected to find 300 people – a week.
CONCLUSION
What we’ve discovered during our investigation makes for depressing reading.
Personally, we’ve only been approached just the once about joining an MLM business, by a then friend who’d just been converted.
She’d even brought her sponsor – the woman who’d got her into the business in the first place – to help her try and convince us this was the best business since the dawn of time, and now was the time to join.
And the sponsor Would. Not. Stop.
We asked the sponsor – several times and very politely each time – to drop the subject, but she kept on trying to convert us, so we had to ask them both quite firmly to leave.
We’d really liked our friend before this happened, and we’ve never heard from her since. But as we’ve said before, in this business you can lose a lot of friends. And – as we’ve seen – you can lose a lot of money, too.
So we’re not too impressed by this kind of business in general, but we’ll let someone who went into Market America and managed to come out the other side in one piece has the final word:
Don’t be fooled into thinking MA is a way to “own your own business. It’s not. Don’t be fooled into thinking other people who failed at it must have done something wrong. That’s the furthest thing from the truth. The statistical fact is (look at the tiny print on the back of their recruitment booklet), only 1-3% of people make any profit (that doesn’t mean good money). Right there should be a sign that this is a scheme. I thought I could make something legit out of it in my approach, but even that was stifled by their business model. It was impossible to do and every financial gain works in their favour, not yours.
Be warned.

They all sit down to eat,
Jalisa: Lia, I must say that I’m impressed and proud of you for finding this place and making a decision to come here.
Jamelia: Thanks, mom.
Merlin: I am, too. And I appreciate the money we’ll save.
Jamelia: Well - there’s just one thing. I want to rent a place here so I won’t have to commute every day to attend.
Merlin: Rent a place? So I guess that means -
Jalisa: *interrupts* We’d be happy to help you out with that!
By the time they purchase ingredients and help Lia pay for rent, Merlin can see that this little endeavor will end up costing them just as much as sending Me-Me to university. He can only hope that Jay’s plans will be much more considerate of their wallet.

The family sits down to enjoy the triplet’s birthday cake, knowing that this might be the last time they sit around this table together for a while. After cake, Jalisa and Merlin give each of them their gifts - an expensive camera to take pictures of their new adventures.
Melisa: Thank you, mom. I love it!
Jalisa: You’re welcome. Just make sure you post your pictures so your dad and I can see what you’re up to in college.
Melisa: I will, I promise.
Lia opens her gift.
Jamelia: *surprised* This is a top-of-the-line camera.
Merlin: I know.
Jamelia: That means it was expensive.
Lia is very aware of how cheap her father can be.
Merlin: I know that too, but you’ll need a good camera if you ever decide to start a food blog or you want to publish your own cookbook one day.
Jamelia: Thank you, dad! This means a lot to me.

While her siblings are downstairs arguing about cleaning up, Me-Me is upstairs filling out her college applications. Everyone else is in bed by the time she finishes.
It’s been a long day, and it all catches up to her. The pressure of trying to improve her grades and get into a distinguished program in college is too much. An exhausted Me-Me doesn’t even make it to her bedroom. Instead, she collapses right there on the floor in the hallway.

Merlin: What will you do instead?
Jamelia: I want to study to become a chef.
Merlin: You can do that in college.
Jamelia: I don’t want to deal with all the other requirements, though. I want to cook, not complete a bunch of G.E.’s.
Merlin: Do you have a plan?
Jamelia: I’ve been doing some research, and there’s a skills academy in Brindleton Bay. It’s a place for people to learn skills without the cost and time commitment of college.
Jalisa: Brindleton Bay is not that far. Maybe we should plan a visit and check the place out.
Merlin: Yeah, okay. That’s a good idea, babe. We’ll go check it out together.
Jamelia: Thanks, mom, thanks, dad. I’m going to take a shower.
Lia gets up from the table, feeling pretty good that her parents are willing to support her plan to avoid college. The rest of the family continues discussing college and the military until it’s time to clean up and leave for school and work.

Me-Me ends the call and takes one last look at the baby plants before heading back down the street to her home. She can’t wait to return to the garden after school tomorrow.

Lia stares at her finished work. The tacos look pretty good - just as good as her dad’s. Lia takes her plate to the dining room table, but her meal feels incomplete. There’s just one last thing to do before she calls her family down to try her first self-cooked meal.
She pulls out a pitcher and mixes up a batch of lemonade, being careful not to add too much sugar. Her mother hates when there’s too much sugar and she wants everything to be perfect.

Jalisa steps out of the restroom knowing that she’s more than capable of doing what needs to be done. She joins Nate at the table.
Jalisa: This has been fun and all, but -
Nate: *continues for her* You have to go.
Jalisa: This is a mistake. I shouldn’t be here - with you.
Nate: I know. But maybe I’ll see you again, one day - in another lifetime.
Jalisa: No, Nate. Not even then. I wish you all the happiness in the world, but it won’t be with me.

Jalisa loves this time together with the family, but she knows that soon all of her children will be young adults and going their separate ways in life.  It’s a bittersweet moment. She thinks back to when she first met Merlin during the blind date challenge. She would never have thought that they’d be where they are now.
Jalisa: *to Lia and Me-Me* Have I told you about when I first saw your father?
Jamelia: Yes, mom, several times. *recites the story* He was in a knight costume, and you were in a purple Voidcritter suit.
Melisa: *continues* And you thought he had a lot of swag, and you liked him right away.
Jamelia: And you told a bunch of corny jokes.
Jalisa: That covers the basics, but it was more than just that. Someday each of you will meet someone that you’ll want to spend the rest of your life with, and you’ll understand what it feels like when you first meet them.
Jamelia: I doubt it, mom.
Melisa: Yeah, I’ll be too busy with school.
Jalisa: Okay, you say that now. But you won’t be in school for the rest of your life.
Lia and Me-Me don’t get what their mom is saying, but Jalisa knows there will come a time when they will. So she’ll leave it at that for now.
Later, in the kitchen, Lia helps her father clean up the after-dinner dishes.
Merlin: Soon, you’ll only have one set of dishes to wash.
Jamelia: And you’ll only have two.
Merlin: Don’t remind me.

They enter the building.
Merlin: I’m glad that they consider cooking an art because that’s exactly what it is.
Jalisa: Wow! Look at the kitchen. I’m feeling hungry just looking at this place.
Jamelia:  The cool thing is, I can cook and prepare meals here, and other students can come and eat for free. It’s a good way to get feedback on my skills.
Merlin looks at the well-stocked shelves.
Merlin: It looks like you have almost everything you need here.
Jamelia: Almost, but I’d still have to purchase my own groceries and cooking ingredients.
Jalisa: Your dad and I will help with that.
Merlin: We will?
