“i don’t think i’m ever gonna get over that movie,” you said as you walked through the front door of your apartment, austin following behind you as you threw your keys on the island counter. “i mean, the hair, the makeup — you looked just like him. and you sounded identical too, i couldn’t tell you guys apart. and your acting, baby. oh my god, you’re so talented. like, i’m never gonna get over that. and baz did such a great job, his directing is out of this world. everything he does — i think this has gotta be my favourite movie of all time.”
“not biased, or anything,” austin teased, and you turned back to look at him with a small grin on your face.
“no, not biased. yes my boyfriend is literally elvis but no, the movie was so much more than that. you were so much more than that,” you said. “you literally became him, aus. i can tell how much you threw into that film and just holy shit, it was so worth it. like that was incredible!”
“how about you stop talking and kiss me,” austin said, putting his hands on your hips and backing you into the counter. smiling, you nodded, and let the boy dip down to press his soft lips on yours. your hands found home in his curls as you deepened the kiss, allowing his tongue to meet yours and, in austin’s words, shut you up. you completely were okay with it, though — when it meant kissing him, you were okay with just about anything.
austin and you had only been dating for just over half a year but everyone who knew you could tell that what you had between the two of you was special. you had a connection like no other and from the moment you met, you both knew you were in love. you met at a club, and that night got talking deeply about the movie he was filming, which he refused to tell you was the newest elvis biopic everyone was gushing about. you found out only about a week after that, after you and austin had been talking every second of every day, and you began going out shortly after as well. it was his first relationship since his nearly decade-long one which ended a few years back, so austin made sure to let you know that he wanted to take things slow, which you were completely fine with — you felt things for the boy like you felt for no other. but ‘taking things slow’ didn’t go as planned, as the two of you quickly learned that what you had wasn’t just a common attraction. no, you were in love, and you both knew it.
“as much as i love kissing you,” austin mumbled into your neck, pressing his lips to your jaw, then your cheek, then your forehead, “i really need to go shower.”
“okay,” you said, unwrapping your arms from his neck but austin couldn’t stop kissing you, his lips sweet against your shoulder, your neck, below your ear— “austin...”
“sorry,” he said, lastly kissing your lips while you both smiled. “i’ll be quick.”
“mhm,” you mumbled, grabbing a fistful of his shirt before pulling him back in for another kiss.
while austin showered, the running water became white noise for you as you sat in bed, in your pajamas now, reading a book. although this was your apartment, austin practically lived here, too. his house was farther out of the city, whereas your building was right in the middle of downtown, easy to access from any time of the day. sure, austin’s house was bigger and you thought it was a lot nicer, but he shook his head any time you mentioned it. he loved your place, he said he didn’t like a big house because it made him feel more alone. he liked your apartment, his favourite thing was sitting out on your balcony at night while you were sleeping, watching the cars race by below him and the lights of the city flicker. so naturally you spent the most time at yours, and you didn’t mind. he had his own things here, his shower necessities and nearly a full wardrobe in your closet. that was nice, for when he wasn’t with you and you wanted to wear his clothes. but you wore his clothes anyways, regardless of if he was there to know it or not.
“that’s my favourite shirt,” austin said as he walked out of the bathroom that had one door attached to your room, the other to the hallway outside. you looked up from your book, then down at the older oversized grey tee you wore.
“i guess it is, i didn’t even notice,” you said, turning back to your book. austin dried off his hair, throwing the towel over the bathroom door as he walked over to your closet, the towel he wore riding low on his hips. his back muscles stretched as he leafed through his clothes, and you couldn’t help but watch as he dropped the towel to step into a pair of boxers.
he turned around seconds later, feeling your eyes burn into him, and he smirked. “book not interesting?” you shook your head, closing the novel as you watched him.
     “not like you are.”
austin hummed, making his way to the bed and crawling over you. his lips met yours in an instant, kissing you softly, gently — not like you wanted. he ghosted over you, whispering, “real life’s way better, anyways.” you nodded, opening your eyes to meet his pretty blue ones. he kissed you sweetly. “i love you.”
     “i love you, too.”
you put your book away as austin climbed in next to you, your lights off, the moon illuminating the room just fine. he pulled you under his arm, kissing the side of your head as you nuzzled in beside him. he smelled good, of the body wash you shared, and his skin felt so soft under your fingertips, grazing up and down his abs.
“would you wanna move in together?” austin found himself saying, and his voice in the darkness wasn’t the thing to surprise you, but his words.
     “what?”
“we basically already live together, but like, get our own place. i think i’m gonna sell my property. and i’ve kind of already been looking, there’s a really nice loft on like, the edge of the city, not too far from here. two bedrooms. and—”
you sat up, looking up at the boy as you leaned on your elbow. “you’re serious?”
austin felt himself growing hot, embarrassed, but he pushed the feelings aside and nodded. “yeah. you always say how you hate how small your apartment is. but my place is too big, it feels wrong. so i was thinking maybe we could just get a place together, you know— start the next chapter in our lives, kinda thing.”
     you smiled. “okay.”
     “really?”
“yeah,” you nodded. “that would be nice. a place that’s, like, ours. not just my apartment or your house.”
“exactly,” austin said, placing a kiss to your forehead. “okay, good. i thought you were gonna call me crazy.”
“no, never.” you settled back in on his chest, a large smile on your lips now. silence casted over the two of you for a few seconds before you spoke up again. “do you want to have kids?”
austin took a couple seconds before answering. “yeah, yeah ‘course i do. do you?”
     “yeah. two.”
“i was thinking three,” he said, and you tilted your head up to look at him, the room dark but his eyes glistening in the moonlight. “boys.”
“how about two girls and a boy.”
“i don’t want girls, i’m scared i’ll mess them up,” austin said, and you laughed at that. “and i don’t wanna deal with boyfriends. can you imagine? i know what boys are like, i’ll want to kill all of them.”
“okay, you’re right. maybe two boys and one girl, i can’t be the only girl in the house,” you said, and austin agreed. his hand began carding through your hair, mindlessly as he became lost in thought.
“boys gotta be older, though. so she can be protected. older brothers can beat up the boyfriends for us. and i’m not doing the birds and the bees talk with her, that’s your job. i’ll handle the boys, they’re easy.” austin rambled on for a few minutes about your future family, and you couldn’t help but smile, listening to him talk. he began listing off names he liked, what sports he wanted them to play, even what occupation they would each grow up to take. it wasn’t until about six minutes of you not saying anything that austin looked down at you, brushing your hair back off your forehead as he asked quietly, “you asleep, love?”
     “no. just listening.”
“oh,” he said, and austin chuckled. “i’m sorry. i got a bit ahead of myself there, didn’t i?”
“nothing to apologize for,” you said, grabbing austin’s hand from your chest and interlacing your fingers. you kissed the back of it gently, looking up at him. his eyes glittered with the reflection of the city lights in your window, and you couldn’t help but think to yourself how beautiful the boy laying above you was. “i love you so much.”
“i love you too, angel.” austin bent down to press a kiss to your forehead, using his free arm to wrap around you tightly and pull you closer to his chest, as close as possible.

Any Other Young-ish Elvis Presley Fans Out There?
Tumblr media
So, I feel kind of silly and young to be a fan of Elvis Presley. I was a fan way before the new movie came out recently. Became a fan back in eighth grade when I learned we had the same birthday, and the rest is history. So...I’ve been a fan since 14 years old, and now I’m 31 years old. And that feels young to love the King.
At the movies this weekend seeing Elvis, my boyfriend and I were pretty much the youngest ones in the theater. Everyone else was pretty much older - middle aged or older.
I’m just curious if there’s anyone else around my age who is a fan, and not just because of the new movie now. If you are, feel free to shout in the comments or message me directly. I’d love to talk to other young Elvis fans and see that there’s a community of us somewhere.
Thanks in advance! Keep on rocking guys!

I just have so many emotions happening all at once. So, I’m just going to say this..
Austin, Baz, and the whole Elvis cast and crew put so much hard work and effort into such an amazing film. I’ve have never felt so emotional about a movie the way I do with this one. I will never forget seeing this movie on the day it came out and feeling so many emotions toward the end, that I had to sit in the theater even as the movie was over because I couldn’t stop crying. It truly was an experience. A cinematic experience that I’ve never had before. I wish I could relive it.
It’s made me completely fall in love with such an incredible human being and love him for all of his flaws. That sometimes it feels like I’ve known Elvis personally because of how emotional I get over him. Is the obsession I have normal? Probably not. But if it wasn’t for this movie or the obsession, I wouldn’t have streamed his movies for everyone on tiktok all summer. Met so many Elvis besties that I love so much or been in Elvis group chats, making Elvis edits or even start writing fanfic. Hell I got into so many tiktok fights defending this man with my life, it’s crazy.
This movie was so impactful for so many damn people and younger generations who now love and appreciate Elvis so much. Austin, Baz and everyone else who worked on that film DID THAT. So yeah, I’m a little hurt they were snubbed. But I’m proud of them all either way for making such an unforgettable film and bringing so many people together.
🤍🤍

A tag game for @troubleinapinksuit anon who is searching for active Elvis movie discussion. Please participate and reblog! And maybe this week reblog a few of your favorite posts from your early days in the fandom.
1. When did you first see the Elvis movie?
2. How many times have you seen it?
3. Did you first see the movie because you are an Elvis fan? Austin Butler fan? Baz Luhrmann fan? Other?
4. Who are your favorite gif makers?
5. Who are your favorite fanfic writers?
6. What are your top 3 scenes from the movie (because one is too hard).
7. Has your relationship to the fandom changed since you joined? Why?
8. How long do you plan to be part of the Elvis movie fandom?
I’ll start:
1. Opening weekend June 2022
2. Eight times in the theater (would have gone more but didn’t have the chance) and at least 50 more at home.
3. I first saw it for two main reasons: one, I love Baz and I like to see his movies myself because I don’t trust reviews due to his haters and, two, because I’ve seen a lot of bad to mediocre impersonations of Elvis and I heard this “newcomer” was getting good buzz for his portrayal.
4. There are so so many but as I scroll through my own blog, I’d say my top three are @karamelcoveredolicity @troubleinapinksuit and @lindszeppelin But I’m so so grateful for everyone’s hard work.
5. I don’t read fanfic. I know. It’s weird to be on tumblr and not read fanfic. But I don’t.
6. Argh! Ok I’m going to base this on the 3 scenes where I genuinely couldn’t believe my eyes (there were many more but these are the three where I was genuinely confused if I was watching an actor or Elvis). First was Trouble, then Vegas Suspicious Minds, then Unchained Melody. I’m FORCING myself to stop there because otherwise I’ll just say the whole movie.
7. Well. Yes. This fandom was PURE joy for months and months and months. I suppose we were spoiled. I mean I know we were. We had a WIDE range of tastes, talents, proclivities, and even (affectionately) depravities. But we peacefully cohabitated through mutual respect, blocked tags, and unfollows. When awards season kicked in it attracted and amplified some of the more typical fandom elements like gossip and snark. That sucked and it was really hard to see. Some of the originators of this fandom were targeted or caught in the crossfire. Personally it caused me to withdraw some. But I simply re-curated my blog and content and I’m enjoying myself again. That’s the key: curate. Now that awards season is over I’m personally relieved. I honestly felt like Austin, who is by nature shy and humble, was no longer enjoying himself completely being in such a relentless and overhyped spotlight. I mean I’m sure he wouldn’t trade the experience — nor would I — but it’s exhausting. So he’s on vacation and my own blog has opened up to a broader indication of my interests. But I still post Austin/Elvis/movie content and I tag everything with Austin and/or Elvis so anyone can find me or movie specific content with those tags.
8. Always. I’ve made real friends here. I’m so grateful for the true care and affection I’ve felt from Joeykinz, @girlnairb @burninlovebutler @succsessions @ash-omalley @myheroelvispresley @slowsweetlove and so many more. I lurk and reblog and follow so many more. And I’m so grateful to my own followers. You’re all so lovely. I ain’t leaving.

the best man | austinbutler

there was always something about weddings that had everyone in the romantic mood. maybe it was that saying that love was in the air, or it could be that everyone who attended was just lonely and refused to let it be rubbed in their face — you opted for the first one, refusing to admit the latter although you knew exactly which one was true.
the last wedding you’d been to you met your current ex-boyfriend, tyler, under intense circumstances. it was your first encounter of a spur of the moment hook-up, in the private bathroom off of the bride’s room, which after the day led into many dates and falling in love and then unfortunately, after a year of being together, getting your heart broken when he cheated on you. to say you were still upset would be an understatement— after all it had only been a month— but you were trying your best to move on and be happy. and in doing that, you promised your best friend, the bride of the day, camille, that you would be on your best behaviour.
“y/n, when i said best behaviour, i didn’t mean ransack the entire fucking open bar.” camille looked back at you through the large mirror, standing pretty in her gorgeous white wedding dress, her arms crossed over her chest with a scolding, yet somehow understanding, pout on her lips. you stood behind her, like a deer in headlights, with your arms full of champagne bottles and wine coolers.
“i was… bringing some for everybody,” you lied, offering her a gracious smile as you batted your eyelashes for effect. she didn’t look convinced, so you upped the anti, moving to pass a can to each of the other bridesmaids. “one for you, one for you… kayla, you get two, actually. one for you…”
“go put those all back, please. i don’t want you getting arrested for theft on my wedding day.” camille had been your best friend since grade school, which earned you the title of maid of honour. she knew you better than anybody, as you did her, and this was a day she’d been looking forward to for her entire life. since you knew the girl, she’d been dreaming of finding her prince charming and having a fairytale wedding — you’d been more of a ‘go with the flow’ kind of gal, but that didn’t stop the pair of you from being two peas in a pod. you were just happy she’d got the happy ending she wanted, despite the pain tugging at your heartstrings any time you saw her and sean together, all lovey-dovey and what not. you found it disgusting — at least, you hid it as that.
“what’s the point of an open bar if i can’t drink as much as i want, when i want?” you asked, collecting the drinks back from the other girls. you and cami argued for a bit more before you gave in and exited the room, finding yourself wandering back over to the bar again.
you placed all the drinks on the counter, shooting the bartender who was setting up for the night a coy smile. sneakily, you stole a cooler and cracked it, not doing a very good job at being quiet as the man shot you a look. you sighed in defeat, muttering an apology before taking a seat at the bar. about ten minutes later and you were on your third can, making conversation with the man who was growing quite irritated with you, when you heard a throat clear and you swivelled around in your seat.
“nobody told me the party had started already.” the man who stood in front of you was nothing far off from being the most beautiful boy you had ever laid eyes on. you recognized him from a few social events you’d tagged along with camille and her fiancé to. he was sean’s best friend, you knew him as, but you couldn’t quite remember his name.
“oh, we’ve been going all morning. haven’t we, robbie?” you turned back to the bartender, who shot the boy a look, one that seemed like a cry for help, and you glanced back over to the beautiful boy standing in a fitted black tux, the flower on his lapel matching the colour of your dress, a solid dark green. “i’m sorry if this comes off rude, but i can not remember your name for the life of me.”
“austin,” he said, and you snapped your fingers at the name, suddenly remembering. “it’s okay. y/n, right?”
“well now i feel like an asshole.”
“i’m the one letting a pretty girl drink all by her lonesome in the middle of a wedding venue,” austin said, moving to sit down beside you, where your legs were perched up on the stool. before you could move, he lifted your legs, sliding to sit down before allowing you to rest back down, your ankles crossed as you rested your sparkly silver heels on his thighs.
“the wedding hasn’t started yet, i’m calling it pregaming,” you joked, and austin nodded in response before politely asking robbie to make him a drink. whiskey on the rocks, a classic and suited him far too well, figuratively and literally, as you watched the boy hold the glass in his hand before pouring the liquid down his throat. the thoughts that began tumbling through your brain were nothing short of a bad idea, so you took another swig of your cooler to hopefully help calm your mind.
the two of you sat there for a bit, chatting and making conversation, before your phone buzzed on the counter and you lifted it to look at the screen. cami: please don’t tell me you got yourself into more trouble. come to the room, i need help with my vail.
“well, duty calls.” you swung your legs down off of the boy beside you and stood up, lightly smoothing down your dress before finishing off your drink. austin did the same, sliding robbie a bill of you weren’t sure how much before joining you at your side.
     “bridal troubles?”
“something like that. needs help with her vail,” you said with a shrug, holding your phone as you crossed your arms over your chest, glancing up at the boy. austin was much taller than you, even when you were on four inch heels, and it became much more apparent standing up. his gaze stared down at you, a little too seductive for your liking but you got the idea that he didn’t try — that was just him. “i’ll see you at the ceremony, austin.”
“try not to get too drunk by then, we still got the reception.” he had a point, and you nodded before separating ways. what would happen at the reception? you wondered, and found yourself thinking of it the entire rest of the day.
you hadn’t realized that you didn’t think about tyler once at all the whole time you were talking to austin, until you got back to the room with camille and everyone. the entire process of getting ready involved you sitting on the bed, watching camille get her finishing touches down, while you pondered over the boy who had broken your heart last month. you forgot about austin until the ceremony, and you found yourself thinking how comedic, your brain could only focus itself on one boy at a time.
you and austin stole glances from one another the entire speech, watching the happy couple at the front of the line for a few moments before having to glance back at each other, only to find the other one already staring. it was childish, really, how the butterflies flew in a swarm around your belly, and how the heat rose to your cheeks every time you met austin’s eyes from across the stage. even during the walk down the aisle, you were paired together, as you were the maid of honour and he was the best man — you linked arms, his touch electrifying as he peeled away from you to place a hand on your lower back when you walked up the steps. you were so glad you weren’t facing the crowd during the i do’s, because austin’s blazing stare and his perfect, soft, full lips and his gorgeous blue eyes and his sandy curls that fell across his forehead adorably — it was enough to have your face tinted pink the entire time, and as soon as the ceremony was over you had to excuse yourself to get some air.
the reception came around and you found yourself sitting at the head table next to camille, sean on her left while austin sat next to him. everyone made their speeches, including austin, and when it was time for yours, the mix of the alcohol along with your bottled up emotions from all day called for a shitshow. it wasn’t as bad as you made it out to be in your head, according to everyone else, but you did cry, a lot, and had to pause mid-speech a few times to hiccup.
“i just can’t believe that my best friend is finally getting married.” hiccup. “i mean, camille and i would stay up until the sun rose, talking about the perfect wedding. she’d always say she wanted to wear pink instead of white,” hiccup, “because it was her favourite colour. and then i’d be like, you’re stupid, cami. brides can’t wear pink. and i guess she finally listened to me, but that’s what would always happen. for as long as we’ve been friends, cami was the idealist and i was the realist. but that’s what i love about cami,” hiccup, “is she would always give me the perfect amount of optimism. i mean, sometimes it was just annoying,” camille laughed at that, “but she taught me how to make my dreams not just dreams, and i’ll always be so grateful for that. and i just can’t believe that those little girls who stayed up all night talking about boys are actually, like, here. there’s no one else i would rather have grown up with. i love you so much, cami. and i can’t wait to see what else the future has in store for you, and i just know that little 13 year old cami would be so fucking proud of you, all grown up. because i am, and i love you so much.”
camille gave you the biggest hug, both of you crying now as she squeezed you as tight as possible. “i love you so fucking much,” she told you, and you squeezed your eyes shut and you held onto her. when you opened your eyes again, you met austin’s gaze, and he offered you a soft smile, which you returned. soon enough the rest of the reception was back on track, the hard part was over and it was time to get on with the fun. and by that, you meant more booze, so you could drown yourself in it and forget the terrible, sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach at the thought of your best friend getting married and leaving you behind.
so, shoving that idea to the back of your mind, you found yourself sitting at the bar for the second time today, now sporting a martini in your hand after downing two shots of tequila. you’d been buzzing all day, pretty tipsy from earlier when you had been chatting with austin before the ceremony, but you were bored of tipsy. you wanted to be drunk. and the tequila you’d shot was burning at your stomach in a delicious, daring way. so you took two more, and then two more after that.
by the seventh one robbie was giving you a look, and you rolled your eyes at him before sliding him a twenty as a thank you and pushing yourself off the seat. the moment you stood up it all hit you, dizzying your balance and making your brain turn into tv static, but you didn’t mind the feeling. you pushed through it and went to find your friends, or someone you knew, making your way over to your table.
“y/n! where’ve you been? i wanted to dance,” cami said with a frown as she stood up from the table, and you could tell by her bloodshot eyes that she was feeling the liquor just as much as you. her bottom lip stuck out in a pout as she reached her arms for you, and it was adorable but borderline sickening the way sean helped her up. “let’s dance, baby! me and you.”
you threw your head back and laughed as you nodded, grabbing her hand and the two of you stumbled onto the dance floor. camille almost tripped over her dress but you grabbed the train, holding it as she hollered drunkenly, laughing hysterically with you. the two of you always had fun, but it was only heightened by alcohol, and it had been so long since you’d been drunk with your best friend; you were excited.
the pair of you danced to the upbeat song playing as best you could, mainly giggling and jumping around rather than dancing. you were screaming the lyrics which you knew, camille nearly doubled over at how hard she was laughing, while you had both of her hands and were swinging your arms back and forth between the two of you. just as the song came to a close, a quieter beat following, the other two best friends approached you, and you felt your heart sink as cami peeled away from you, an exciting look crossing her face as she squealed, “it’s my hubby!” before throwing her arms around her husband.
she was gone, you thought, watching the happy couple interact. your best friend was now a married woman, and he would always, always come before you. sean leaned down and kissed her sweetly, one hand resting on her hip while the other settled on her lower back for support, and if you weren’t such a miserable, heartbroken mess you would be happy seeing the two together. the way sean looked at camille, the twinkle in both of their eyes and the smile etched on their faces; they were undeniably in love, and it wasn’t just the rings on their fingers that made it obvious.
you didn’t have too much time to wallow over the thought of your best friend abandoning you, as your vision was blocked by a body stepping in front of you, and you glanced up to meet austin’s gaze. “would you like to dance, y/n?” he held out his hand, and the smile that crept across your lips was eerily similar to the one on the newly-wed couples’. you placed your
smaller hand in his, and allowed austin to pull you in close. his free hand moved to your waist, snaking around to rest on the small of your back while you brought your arm up over his shoulder. the music playing was a slow tune, something you recognized as a remix of best part by daniel caesar.
“i liked your speech,” you heard austin say, and your eyes flickered up at him as he swayed the two of you back and forth. “i didn’t realize you and cami have known each other for that long.”
“since kindergarten,” you added. the close proximity of the boy you danced with had your heart beating a million miles a minute, and you weren’t certain that it was the tequila that made your cheeks flush, or the feeling of your chests touching, his fingers intertwined with yours, and his burning gaze back at you.
one thing you were sure of the alcohol affecting, though, was your ability to filter the words that fell from your mouth. “why do you always look at me like that?”
it must have been the apparent shock on your face after you had spoken that made austin laugh, but he just smiled and responded anyway. “like what?”
“i don’t know,” you mumbled, quite embarrassed after the awkward stumble of words from before. his eyes taunted you, and you sighed before answering. “you stare at me. like… like you want something.”
“what do you think i want?”
you gulped. the song had changed, but you didn’t pay it much attention. the two of you continued slow dancing, your bodies in tune with one another as you stared back at him, his blue eyes darker now, and you weren’t sure if it was the lighting. “i don’t know what you want. that’s… that’s why i asked — what you’re staring at me for.”
“you’re nice to stare at,” he stated, like it was a fact he couldn’t be more sure of, and suddenly austin stretched his arm out and spun you around, pulling you back into his chest expertly.
“didn’t know you were a dancer,” you said up at him, leaning your head back on his shoulder as he held you close, one hand still grasping your hand and the other taking residence on your hip.
“there’s a lot of things you don’t know about me.” austin’s voice was of something you’d never heard before, deep and raspy and sexy and taunting, so seductive in a way where he didn’t even try to be, but he knew he was. he had to have known, known what he was doing and more importantly what he was doing to you. he spun you around again, moving both hands to your waist as he pulled you close, your hands falling to his shoulders. “have you ran the bar dry or do you think our friend robbie will let me buy you a drink?”
“he seemed pretty pissed with me earlier,” you said, cocking your head to the side as you looked up at him, your eyes darting down to where he rolled his lower lip between his teeth. “but he might make an exception for you.” the way he bit down on his lip, dimples piercing his cheeks and eyes narrowing down at you, had your stomach in a frenzy. your eyes left his lips and looked back up to meet his gaze. “i know i would.”
     “mm, would you?”
“but i’m sure some convincing on your part wouldn’t hurt.” the two of you were flirting by now, everything was out on the table and you were in awe of how turned on this man made you with just a simple stare. he seemed to have picked up on your hint, his eyes darting between both of yours, trying to read the hidden message behind your words.
it wasn’t long before austin had you downing two shots, only fuelling the fire in the pit of your stomach. you turned to him after swallowing the last one, slamming the glass on the counter with a grimace on your face. “tequila was a terrible idea.” austin only laughed, taking his before checking his watch.
“not even midnight yet, and you’re pussying out already?” he was teasing you, eyes threatening as they glanced between both of yours, searching for intention. your lips curled into a smile, shaking your head as your curls bounced around your shoulders.
“never.” you turned to the bartender, holding up two fingers before looking back at austin. “are you?”
ten minutes later and the shots were catching up to you, hitting you much differently than they did austin. you were the epitome of drunk, slurring your words, stumbling your feet; austin was barely buzzing, from what you could see, but you could tell by the slight lisp in his tongue and the tint of his cheeks that he was feeling it. you’d met back up with camille and sean, the four of you enjoying yourselves on the dance floor. you danced and laughed and sang, and you were coming to realize that another sign austin was drunk was his touchiness. his hands were roaming your waist, squeezing your hips while his lips danced over the shell of your ear, your back pressed to his chest while he whispered things to you. you hadn’t even realized camille had noticed until austin and sean left to find more drinks, and cami grabbed your arm with such ferocity you let out a yelp.
     “hey! that hurt.”
“you need to fuck that man,” she said, a serious look in her eye, and you almost choked as you raised your eyebrows.
     “what?”
“austin, you need to get with him. now.” she was drunk, just as bad as you, but camille had always had the lucky trait of being able to handle her liquor; you, on the other hand, did not. “i’m not kidding, y/n. you’ve been wallowing about tyler for too long and this is the perfect opportunity to forget about him and move on!”
your heart stopped beating in your chest at the sound of tyler’s name and you could’ve sworn you were completely sober in that second. “what?”
“he’s totally into you! and he’s so sexy, y/n. do it!” cami squeezed your hands excitedly, her eyes glimmering as she gave you a look of assurance. “if you pass this up you’re clinically insane. i mean, look at him.” you followed camille’s gaze over to the bar, where austin had his hand on sean’s shoulder, the two men laughing about something. austin’s smile was beautiful, you couldn’t deny. his sand-coloured hair, curly and sitting perfectly atop his head, falling down across his forehead. you could see the veins running through his hand, his fingers long and hand massive over sean’s shoulder, his biceps flexing under the white button up he had on, rolled up to his elbows, his blazer discarded long ago. sean leaned in to tell him something, and austin moved a hand to run across his jaw, clenching the muscles while he felt the stubble over his chin, nodding at whatever sean had said. they spoke about something, austin offering a few words back, and you only caught yourself still entranced when you met austin’s eyes as he glanced back over his shoulder, locking your gaze immediately. you looked back at cami, cheeks on fire as you pursed your lips.
“he is so sexy,” you said, and cami nodded excitedly as she grabbed you again.
“you have to, y/n. like—” she paused, eyes flickering over your shoulder before she gulped and looked back at you. “they’re coming back.”
     “what? i—”
“a drink, for the lady.” you were interrupted by sean’s voice as he stepped into view, handing camille a drink. she thanked him, smiling sweetly before giving him a kiss, and austin placed his arm loosely around your shoulder as he moved to whisper in your ear.
“i would’ve gotten you one but i don’t think it would’ve done you much good,” he mumbled. you tilted your head back slightly to look up at him, eyes sparkling and you smiled, mouthing a thank you before he did the unspeakable — he kissed the top of your head.
“hey, i’ll be back in a second, just gonna run to the restroom,” austin said, not giving you any time to process his previous actions before straying from your side, and you met camille’s eyes in a split second before she widened her eyes. go after him! she mouthed, and you lowered your eyebrows as you whisper-shouted back, no! sean watched the two of you interact with a confused look, and it wasn’t until camille grabbed your arm, spun you around, and pushed you in the same direction austin walked away in, that he understood. hesitantly, you took a few steps, looking back at the girl who encouragingly gave you two thumbs up. you flipped her the bird before pressing your lips into a thin line and walking towards the restroom, glancing around before sneaking into the men’s.
surprisingly it smelled good in there, a clean white paint job surrounding the walls and making it feel less like a bathroom and more like a nice living space. there was even a few seats and a bench, for some odd reason, and you furrowed your eyebrows before glancing up. austin stood at the sink, running his fingers through his hair, wetting it lightly, before his eyes met yours in the mirror and you gulped.
“camille made me come in here—” you blurted, and stopped when austin turned around with a natural smirk on his lips, eyebrows peaked.
     “did she?”
“mhm.” you were nervous, your heart beating rapidly, your palms getting sweaty, fingers twitching, and austin’s cocky stare that he held on you did nothing to help. “she, uh… she was saying…” you laughed awkwardly, reaching a hand up to touch the top of your head, scratching your scalp, “she was, you know. cami, she—”
“mhm?” austin took a few steps closer, closing the proximity between you two, and you hadn’t even realized you’d been backing up until you felt your back hit the wall. swallowing harshly, you looked up at austin, his face only inches away now, and you watched out of your peripheral as he reached down to lock the door.
“you know, i really appreciate you not getting me a drink,” you said, feeling your mouth blabbering as your brain told you shut up, shut up, shut up. “that was really nice, you know, since i’m already, like, way past when i should’ve stopped.”
“yeah,” he said, eyes flickering down to your lips, and you nervously clenched your jaw as you scrambled to find something else to say.
“that was seriously, like, really kind of you. like, recognizing i didn’t need any more, or whatever…”
“y/n,” austin said, and you could’ve melted right then and there at the way your name sounded coming from his lips, “as much as i love the sound of your voice,” he licked his lips, glancing up at your eyes, “shut the fuck up.”
     “okay.”
just like that, austin dipped down, crashing his lips against yours. they were so soft, so full, everything you imagined as you kissed him back. his hands came to grip your face, thumbs holding your cheeks as his fingers danced across your jaw, and you reached up to grasp onto his biceps, falling into his hold as he kissed you aggressively, tongue pushing its way past your lips.
you moaned into austin’s mouth, feeling one of his hands snake it’s way around to your back, pushing you impossibly closer to him, and austin slammed you back against the wall as he grinded himself up against you, making your head fall back. his lips moved to work on your neck, biting and sucking at the soft skin as you brought your hand to tangle in his hair, tugging firmly at his curls and making him groan.
“fuck, i need you right now,” he growled, and you’d never felt so ready for anything in your life. austin helped your out of your dress as quick as he could, careful to unzip it but hastily taking it off of you. your fingers worked to unbutton his shirt, but you only got about halfway down before he pushed your hands away and moved to undo his dress pants.
as fast as you had pulled away, austin was picking you up, holding you against the wall with one hand under your thigh and the other one working his cock, sliding it through your folds. he moaned at the feeling, teasing you slightly before you gripped his shoulder tightly, and he slid into you with ease. a stinging pain hit you as you stretched around him — it’d been a while since you’d had sex, and you couldn’t remember the last time you’d been with someone of his size. but as much pain as you felt, about ten times that of pleasure came with it, and you were a moaning mess as he began to find a rhythm inside of you.
“so fucking tight,” he cursed, pulling out and slamming back into you with the same aggressiveness every time. both of your arms moved to rest on his shoulders, pulling him closer as your fingers found home in his hair again, tugging at the roots of the curls. austin placed one hand to the wall beside your head, his other hand gripping your thigh with a bruising touch as he pounded into you at an alarming rate.
a few minutes in that position and it was growing uncomfortable for both of you, so you switched to the sink, your legs wrapped around his torso as he slid in and out of you rhythmically. you leaned your head back against the mirror, one hand gripping the edge of the sink as the other one held onto his shoulder for dear life. austin rested his forehead on your shoulder, keeping the same pace that he fucked you with, one hand moving up to wrap around your throat. you moaned at the feeling of your airways constricting just enough, his grunts growing to be faster and louder along with his thrusts, skin slapping against skin the only sound you could hear echoing in the restroom.
“you feel so fucking good,” he moaned, slowing his thrusts as he closed your eyes, focused on just feeling you. his free hand moved down to your clit, two fingers rubbing circles into you. “so wet for me, sweetheart. you like this?”
“mhm.” you were overcome by pleasure, thighs shaking under you. austin had completely stopped fucking you, letting his cock sit inside of you as he rubbed your clit gently. your hand dropped to his bicep, squeezing his muscular arms as filthy moans escaped your lips and your eyes rolled back, his fingers moving over your core.
“so pretty like this, holy fuck.” his digits were working you over beautifully, and you were feeling that familiar bubble in your stomach ready to burst all too soon. you whined, pushing his arm away as well you could; austin got the hint and began a series of thrusts again, driving his cock deeper and deeper into you. you were seeing stars, and you weren’t sure if it was from the absolute euphoria he was graciously causing or the alcohol in your system.
“i’m— oh my god.” you could barely speak, your mouth agape as you felt him hit your g-spot, his hand coming to wrap around your throat again, just how you liked. “aus—”
“fuck, come on baby.” his grunts were deep, his cock hitting you in every right position, and you were dangerously close to the edge until he pulled out of you, roughly yanking you down to flip around, your ass pressed into him as he messily found your entrance. you took a breath as he slammed into you from behind, a loud gasp leaving your lips as the new angle took you by surprise.
“you like that?” he said cockily, and you met eyes in the mirror. his hand was gripping your hair in a loose, makeshift ponytail, his other hand bruising your hip with his firm hold. your mascara was smudged, as was your dark red lipstick, and it was then when you realized how much of a mess you really looked.
you didn’t have time to think much of it, though, as austin was driving his cock into you again, and you swore you could feel it in your stomach.
“oh my god—” your hands reached out to grip the counter, and austin quickly dismissed that idea by grabbing your wrists and holding both arms behind your back. his pace quickened significantly and you felt your body jolt with every thrust. it was beginning to be too much, the overwhelming urge to spill over the edge, his cock slamming into you and most definitely hitting your cervix, his death-grip on your hair, tugging at the roots and pulling your neck back at an uncomfortable yet so so sexy position. “i can’t, i—”
“take it,” he rasped, and the tone of his voice was enough to make you shut up. austin let your hands go, offering that to you but still relentlessly pounding into you, his hips snapping back and forcing his cock deeper and deeper into you. suddenly, you felt him twitch, his thrusts stuttering, and austin cursed as he moved forward, placing a hand on the mirror in front of you. he leaned over you now, still fucking you, and you couldn’t help but watch him in the mirror — his curls damp, falling over his eyes, which were rolled back, his lip caught between his teeth before he released it and his jaw fell open as he stuttered again. he was close to his release, you could hear it in his moans, deep and raspy, his breathing heavy. the vein which ran up the side of his neck was apparent, his jaw clenched as he gave a few more good thrusts into you.
“you’re so fucking hot,” you mumbled, unsure of where the boldness for you to say that came from, but you suddenly didn’t care when you met austin’s eyes, dark and narrowed. the smirk on his face was unmatched — the coil in your stomach tightened at his look.
“you’re such a fucking slut,” he rasped, hand tangling further in your hair, tighter, and he yanked you up to his level, your neck exposed as you leaned back. “want me to make you cum? like the whore you are, bet you’d like that, huh?”
“please,” you choked out, and austin let you go pathetically, letting you falling back down as he began fucking you at an animalistic pace. his hand traced around to your clit, his fingers working over your already-sensitive bud quickly, rubbing circles into your bundle of nerves. the moans that left your lips were desperate, filthy, and austin couldn’t get enough of it.
“this feel good?” he mumbled, rounding his free hand over your ass, lifting it off and then colliding the skin together with a loud smack. you gasped, jolting forward, into austin’s fingers that flicked at your swollen bud. his other hand was squeezing your ass, pulling you closer to him as he moved his cock in and out of your entrance while playing with your clit. the feeling was beginning to be too much — you were growing sensitive, your thighs shaking and legs giving way as you leaned against the counter, moaning uncontrollably. he was pushing you to new limits, ones that you didn’t know you could reach, and it was only a matter of time before you came.
“want you to cum with me, darling,” he said, his voice much softer now as he sped up the pace of his fingers, his thrusts getting firmer. “m’ so close.”
“me too,” you barely whispered, and austin’s hand found yours on the counter, intertwining his fingers over top of yours. he pushed into you a few more times, breaths getting heavier and moans getting louder before his hips stuttered again, and you could feel yourself unravelling by the second. “aus, i’m—”
“fuck y/n.” austin jerked forward at his release, and it was the thought of him cumming that made you orgasm as well. the two of you peaked at the same time, your arm coming behind you to grab at anything, circumstantially being austin’s dress shirt, pulling him closer. austin held you to his chest, his arm wrapped around your front while yours moving back behind his head, your hand entangling in his hair as you both caught your breath.
“holy fuck,” you said, your voice barely coming out as a whisper as you leaned your head back on his shoulder. you could feel austin’s chest rise and fall, his arm tightening around you slightly.
“i can’t remember the last time i’ve had sex like that,” austin mumbled, lifting a hand to pull through his hair as you took in his words. your stomach dropped at the thought, as the last person you’d had sex with, the only person you did for the last year or two, was tyler. unfortunately you didn’t catch yourself slipping into your thoughts before austin did, and the boy frowned as he spoke up, “you okay?”
startled out of your thoughts, a little embarrassed that he had noticed you zoning out, you glanced up at him in the mirror. “what?”
“you just got really quiet,” he said, and you shook your head, moving to pull your panties up your legs. “like, at the most inconvenient time to get quiet. when we just, you know...”
“i didn’t mean to, sorry.” you ran a hand through your hair, trying to tame the mess of knots and curls as you leaned forward in the mirror. austin just watched you, slowly doing up his belt as his eyes never left your figure. after a few moments you paused, looking at him through the mirror. “quit staring at me. you do it all the time.”
“because you’re beautiful,” he said, and you felt your cheeks blush before you pressed your lips into a line and went back to fixing your appearance. austin’s eyebrows furrowed, clearly not satisfied with your strange attitude now, and he put both hands on your waist to spin you around. “hey, what are you thinking about?”
“it’s nothing,” you answered, growing a little bit annoyed at his persistence. austin apparently didn’t care, though, as he tightened his grip on you when you moved to turn back.
     “talk to me.”
you stared at the boy, blue eyes daring you to spill what was on your mind. it took you a couple of seconds to debate it in your head, but ultimately you came to the idea that, hey, he’s just a guy you fucked at a wedding. no strings attached.
“you’re the first person i’ve had sex with since me and my boyfriend broke up,” you said finally, and austin’s features softened at the admittance. “i’ve been reminded of him all day and it just hurts, kinda.”
“oh,” he said. fuck. you felt terrible now. you’d just had sex with this man, really fucking good sex, and now you’re telling him about how you’re still hung up over your ex. he probably felt so awkward. “i get it.”
surprised, you looked up at him. “what?”
“i get it,” he said with a shrug, and you furrowed your eyebrows at him. “i dated a girl for nearly ten years, and it’s probably gonna take me longer than that to actually get over it. i understand.”
that was not what you expected him to say, but you couldn’t be upset. that was, for some reason, exactly what you needed to hear, despite the lack of helpful advice. it was still comforting, knowing your feelings were valid and that ultimately, you weren’t alone.
“it’s hard, getting over them,” austin spoke again, “but it’s necessary. sometimes you just gotta take the first leap.”
you looked at him for a long while, eyes narrowing and lips pursing together. it wasn’t for a couple moments before you decided to go for it, and you stood on your tiptoes and pressed your lips to austin’s. taking a second, austin kissed you back, his hands on your hips before you leaned back down, smiling up at him.
     “the first leap,” you repeated.
“i mean, i would’ve thought you getting your shit railed out in the bathroom at a wedding by a stranger would be the very first leap, but whatever works for you,” he said, and you rolled your eyes as he laughed and grabbed your face to kiss you again.

It’s so surreal that in two weeks it’ll be a year since the Elvis movie came out. I was looking at my Elvis playlist and saw that I created it two days after the movie came out. I’m like bro.. The way this playlist has grown since then. The fact that I haven’t gone one day without listening to it either. 😭
Ugh, I just can’t believe that it’ll really be a year. I miss all the Elvis movie/Austin craziness, lol.

Watched Baz Lurhmann's 'Elvis' movie the other day, and - wow.
I wasn't really an Elvis fan before watching. But I felt so involved watching this. I don't think I've ever seen an actor so embody another person quite as much as Austin Butler does. It's incredible.
Tumblr media
It also made me want to watch more of Lurhmann's films. I saw Romeo + Juliet a decade ago, and wasn't blown away by it, but I'm going to give it another go. And I'm really looking forward to 'Moulin Rouge', a film I've never really given much thought to.
