Genealogy of Ciri - Eist Tuirseach
Eist Tuirseach was the jarl (the commander of navy) of Skellige Islands. Later, he became the husband to Queen Calanthe, and the king of Cintra. Even later, he was also given the crown of Skellige. Only by title, since on Skellige a “king” was barely tradition - all the power was in the hands of the Jarl, who at the time was Crach an Craite.
Eist Turseach and Calanthe, the royal couple, themselves led the army, when the Nilfgaardian passed Marnadal Stairs and entered Cintra. In the Battle of Marnadal King Eist died - shot in the eye with an arrow.
Eist’s body was recovered from the battlefield of Marnadal by his men of Skellige, taken to the Islands and buried in the traditional stone vault, next to the coffin of his wife, Queen Calanthe. Empty, because the Queen’s body was never found.

Update on Maciej Musiał's involvement in the witcher. He plays Sir Lazlo, a... character made up for the show. He isn't even playing a *minor* character from the books. I saw quite a bit of scandinavian sounding names, one of them playing Eist Turseach, who is literally from Skellige, inspired by scandinavia. Thanks, guys. I guess slavic people were made up in the books too, like Skellige, that's why they're taking american, british and scandinavian actors
I’m not surprised in the slightest.
