In the hospital, there wasn't much to occupy Rei's mind. Daily activities. Drawing, writing, knitting, reading. The flower on her desk. Visits from her family. Thinking about what brought her here.

Thinking about all of the times she's apologized to Shoto, tried to talk about what happened. All the times her words have failed because her thoughts and emotions were long shattered and impossible to piece together after spending so much time without facing them. Every year she spent in solitude gutted something out of her, like a house eaten by termites -- a little more of her gone each time until it felt like nobody was safe inside, not even herself. -- After a decade of "treatment," Rei isn't sure if she'll ever be able to talk about what happened to her. When she joins a hero support forum, she finds a voice that might be able to help change that.
