I’ve been doing a little self made Fandom Challenge, writing for all kinds of ships - including rather unpopular ones. I never expected to get much feedback, but this one person leaves actual essays on a lot of them and I am so eternally grateful for the existence of this commenter, they keep me motivated!

The comment:

First of all: English is not my first language, so I am already apologizing for any mistakes.

Ok. I confess that I was a bit desperate when I came across this fic. I love Allison and have a soft spot for her and Luther but apparently I am alone when it comes to the ship and the character lol

So I decided to give Allison a chance with other characters (which is even harder to found) :((

Patrick: No way

Vanya: I tried but didn’t liked :(

Diego: That’s when I came across your fic, I was a bit skeptical but them… HOW I NEVER SAW THIS POSSIBILITY? Oh my god, this fic was so cute and I was reading with the stupid smile that I have when I find “this is to good to be true” fic.

Lovely, that’s the word I would use to describe what you wrote.

It have a bit of everything, you know? Despite being very simple and short we had the drama with Alice and Claire, the canon Claire having Luther as her favorite uncle (I love this, even when the author does a huge change in the character’s relationships he knows when to keep it like the original story)

Let’s start with Allison just casually taking Diego’s knife like is no big deal and he’s doing nothing (even if the knife is like he’s limbs) about this because is Allison but I can only think what he would do if poor Klaus had the same idea (because if he had the chance he would totally take one of Diego’s knife) xD

“She’s wearing fuzzy socks, tugged over the hem of her sweatpants and it looks equal parts ridiculous and cute.” Owwwn T.T Is just a simple detail but I loved to bits how Allison is dressed because she seems (even if we can’t we really see it) so worried about her looks, always so elegant even in her house.

It was a bless seeing her like this, it shows this super cute intimacy between a couple (and at some degree with the whole gang that doesn’t really show up in the fic but we know are there) I want to see my Allison more carefree, what a angel.

And BTW among all the Hargreeves’s Allison is probably the worst choice to make a pumpkin for Halloween (and maybe Klaus) she seems to have zero ability in this kind of activity what makes her effort even better. She probably knows that but decided to try by her own for Claire, in little details you are showing what Allison had decided in the series: Be a better mother.

“Baby,” Diego tries, moves closer to wrap a hand around her wrist. “I’m sorry, okay? I was just poking fun.”

FREAKING OUT WITH THE CUTENESS! Diego is not the type to apologize, specially if is some true about Reginald so it was really adorable seeing him rush to apologize to Allison. He doesn’t even stop to think.

“Now I have time but Claire isn’t here.” This line broke my heart, seeing a mother separated from her daughter (even in Allison’s case because of what she did) is so sad and we all know that if it was for Patrick they would never ever see each other again. This must be even harder for her because of everything that happened with her as a child and teenager with Reginald. Imagine having childhood’s traumas thanks to your shit father figure or whatever knowing that you might had been close to a certain degree to be a monster in your daughter’s life…

And what to do in a situation like this? Diego is right, there is nothing to say, nothing to do. Is a problem that is out of his limit. So he does what he can and what Allison needs in that moment: Practice on how to make a pumpkin halloween.

It looks like something very ordinary and simple but it has a very special meaning in this story. Even knowing that there is nothing he can do to get Claire back to Allison he is exactly what she needs to maybe one day have her daughter back. Carve a pumpkin is a step for Allison to become a better mother and Diego is there to help her.

My heart can’t take this T.T it was a very delicate scene. I loved it.

He made a woman that was on tears (or about to) smile. BE MY BOYFRIEND DIEGO!!!

“Take the knife again,” Diego murmurs, mouth up against Allison’s ear.“

"Practise,” Allison says, turns her head to look at him. Diego looks right back, close enough their noses are brushing"

I CAN FEEL THE CHEMESTRY FROM HERE!

“Diego RUBS HIS NOSE against Allison’s. "And who’s fault is that?"

I need a second because moments ago I didn’t know I needed this level of cuteness between those two. Is to much (but I can and I want to handle more) XD

I hate to be the one saying this but is very difficult (or just impossible) to compete with Luther in the best uncle’s category. Like Allison said: The moon , Diego. The moon… But I have faith in the knives, Diego just need some time with Claire to show to a child why knifes are so cool and better than the moon and the whole space for the matter xD lol

The little "fight” between them that it worked as a excuse to touch each other had me sighing like the hopeless shipper that I am now…

AND THEN THE DECLARATION WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECTED! It was the sweetest, most natural and spontaneous that you could get. I loved the fact that it was so simple, without a bigger reason for saying, like a life threat or a big fight.

No epic events, not big speeches. Just the daily life with a very adorable moment between to people in love. You can’t ask more because this everyday touch left everything very real.

And Diego freaking out later realising what he just said and probably praying to all the gods and more for Allison to just forget xD poor pure soul.

If we pay attention to the fic is clear that Diego is trying not to show much. He is always being cautious with his actions and words around her and in a single moment of carelessness he probably spoke the last (and the most important information) that he didn’t want her to know.

He sounded like a kid trying to running from the subject and failure trying to act like NOTHING HAPPENED.

I really want to hug this Diego.

And the end? You killed me but it was worth every second, I loved what you did here with a couple that now belongs to my shipper heart T.T

I really hope to see you one day writting more to this couple. You did a magical work with them.

I noticed that you have more TUA fics, gonna check some of them later (Unfortually is already late and I have to sleep)
