AH OKAY SOOO- I have quite a few (I’ll tag them all so you can scroll through their tags- despite not having an organized blog I do have it organized for them) BUT I shall focus on Nami, Enzi, Faraja and Viv because. I’m in a mood for my girls rn-/lh

Nami is an only child, spoiled to hell and back by Azul because look at that man. He was made to be a girl dad spoiling them. She can do no wrong to them and they will defend her and her actions until the end of time. BUT she is the more generous kind of spoiled (if she likes you. If she doesn’t then get slapped by octopus tentacle motherfucker-) where she will give you something like that because she’d always just get another one

she’s the only one to have a fully thought out um (because god why do they take so much brainpower to think of)- Sirens Song. If she wills it, she can use her voice as a tool of mass hypnotism. This ability goes as far as her voice does, so as long as you are in earshot of her voice, you are susceptible. (Which sucks for beastmen with good hearing)

in general though she is very close with both of her dads and admires both of them to an absurd degree. She wants to be just like them, if not better. She is ADORED on Azul’s side (because in my lore, octo babies are RARE. You will only ever probably have one, or maybe two if you are insanely lucky. It ties into their magical prowess) but on Jamil’s side it’s basically just Najma and Jaddah, but she barely sees her (in my lore Jamil’s mom isn’t a bad person, she just was stuck in a bad situation and was very mentally unwell. Jamil and Najma were both ripped from her arms right after she gave birth and it messed her up. Jamil let her hold baby Nami and she cried)

(Design wise she pulls from Ariel and Vanessa. And a bit of jasmine)

Enzi is also technically an only child, but it’s only ever been her and ruggie. She was quite literally plucked off of the street and she’s been with him ever since. She grew up side by side with Faraja, constantly having play dates and such. But overall, she just, loves her dad. They’re a lot more like friends then a normal parent kid dynamic because ruggie understands that as she gets older she wants more respect (and hyena gender roles come in a bit). He taught her things from his culture though (HISPANIC RUGGIEEEE-) and she is fully considered apart of their community. Even if she’s a grey hyena in a sea of blonde and brown.

Faraja is… oh god she is my angst baby. I’m so sorry girl- she is an only child as well. I swear I didn’t mean for this to happen- her other parent.. isn’t in the picture. One day she was at Leona’s doorstep with a note saying she was his, and a week later, after the tests went through, she was. Cursed with being a bastard in a royal family (despite how fucking upset about it Leona was and how much he fought her treatment) she was basically ostracized from the rest of the family except for farena’s wife and Cheka. Leona loves her though. She never got a royal budget so he works as a local magical history professor and gives her his budget instead. Her hair is used throughout her storyline to express her feelings and I have a post detailing some of her angst

Vivienne is Not an only child, she has her brother, Emil- and she’s a musician (a la Taylor swift- said somewhat jokingly) but she only started performed when she was 16, because Vil was absolutely not going to have her have the same childhood he did. Instead she was tossed over to rook and taken out hunting. She has a crossbow in her skirt enchanted to compress at all times. She’s close with her little brother (tho he is annoying. Like all siblings) and she’s pretty close with both of her parents. (She also loves her gf Faraja which was a uh. Shock for Vil, at first.)

Many things were known and said about Faraja Kingscholar, but only one ever stayed the exact same.

she was Leona’s child. She was his only child.

and Leona Kingscholar was an unmarried man.

she a bastard. An accident. A cub without a mother or a father, only her dad to raise her.

some thought it was fitting for him. The dastardly second prince was only right to be a single father.

a stain on the good Kings name.

unfortunately, the beastmen of the court were unaware that a child should not bear the crimes of their parent, so she was outcasted. She was feared. Respected. but never equal. She still remembers the way his nanny ushered Cheka away from playing with her, since she wasn’t technically royal. She was dead last for the throne, after all. No one wanted a bastard as a ruler.

of course, Leona tried to shield her from it. Call him whatever you’d like, but he was not a neglectful father. But Faraja was smart, far too quick witted for her own good. She saw the way the attendants looked at her.

Because she wasn’t only a bastard. She was Leona’s.

she still remembers her 7th birthday. It was the first time she’d been held a banquet, after constant questioning to her father as to why she never got one like Cheka did. she had been so excited. Leona had undone her braids, leaving her curls out and proud across her shoulders. She’d spent a week debating on the dress she was going to wear (a red number with intricate patterns won out).

then she walked through those doors. Those large, terrifying doors.

the whispers that followed her entrance almost deafened her. You see, no more than a few weeks earlier she’d finally gained the impeccable hearing she was supposed to have. And all she heard were hurried, rushed whispers about her.

about how they shouldn’t be throwing a party for something as insignificant as her. About how she was dirty, a stain on the royal family’s lineage. About how they thought she shouldn’t even be allowed inside the royal palace.

she still remembers how those tears felt like boiling water on her skin, feet frozen in place at the top of the stairs. She’d cried so loud, running back inside, back to her room where she was safe from everyone’s ridicule.

Her dad had yelled so loudly that night. Cheka had held her tightly, desperately trying to comfort her.

Those fools would never see her cry again.

Faraja is one of the few housewardens that have felt the influence of Nami’s Unique Magic, and the only one that’s been under its control for longer than a few moments.

It was an accident. Nami wasn’t purposely using it on her, Faraja’s hearing was just better than most.

Her voice first hit her ears, sending a twitch through them as the singing slowly invaded her head, filling her thoughts with radio static.

Her movement still, no longer able to move. As if Faraja’s body was waiting for something.

Instructions. It was waiting for Nami to send out about a command, a motive, a question to be answered and obeyed.

Faraja could do nothing about it. She tried to break out, but no matter how far she was, her body wouldn’t let her move.

Then she felt it. The inkling of a command. She must’ve been far enough away to not entirely receive it however, because she broke through for a split moment, body jerking forward before falling to her knees.

The singing in her voice got louder. And louder. And her breathing became more and more labored as her lungs seemed to fight against her chest to breathe.

As if the hypnosis was punishing her for fighting back.

Faraja found herself gasping for air, everything becoming more and more labored.

She felt like she was drowning, suffocating, like there wasn’t any air left for her to breathe.

And then the noise was gone. She gasped in as much air as possible, flexing her fingers as she regained control over her own body.

A door opened behind her, heels quickly clicking towards her direction as manicured hands came and started to help her sit up.

“Far! Oh sands… did you get caught in that?” Nami’s face turned to her in genuine concern.

Faraja let out a fit of coughs, “yeah, I think I did.”

“Come on, we can get you something to drink,” Nami leaned down and pulled her up with remarkable strength.

 🐷PIG FACE — what is your oc's favorite animal? 

Nami is a 👏nauti👏ilus👏 girlie. Carries them around in the water like a giant stuffed animal. Definitely harassed one when she was younger by trying to fish it out of her shell before her grandmother had to snatch her up and get her hand OUT of the shell. Also fond of pigeons.

Faraja has a soft spot for ferrets and similarly shaped creatures (long tubed mammals) because she found catching creatures like them so fun when she was a kid

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?

Nami either listens to what Jamil listened to (so a lot of Arabic/dance musi) but she is also a huge fan of jazz! New jazz techno jazz all of it, and she primarily sings jazz in the Monstro lounge. Faraja listens to Viviennes music ONLY/hj. She was in her top .001% of listeners tho and she regrets not being higher (in her defense tho their music platform DOESNT count all of the times Vivienne gave her a private concert (aka her sitting on her bed with her guitar and singing for her) or when she went to every single Live concert she had so-) Seriously tho, if she’s not listening to Viv it’s R&B or afrobeats. And rock, but that’s from Leona being a dad and being like “THIS is the good music-“

🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?

Nami’s like big ones I’ve said a lot so that doesn’t feel fair but I’ll restate them AND new ones, so normally she does violin, piano, and sings, but she ALSO really enjoys soccer. She doesn’t do it competitively or anything but she puts ALL of her anger into punting a ball at the goalie. All of it. (She has injured like three). Hunting is another one, but that’s much more like legit octopi looking for food. She’ll dig her tentacles into crevices in corals and rocks to dig out shellfish and oysters and shit- and THEN the final one (for the question at least) would be sewing, which she does with Azul. They sit together and make things or fix things up (or if your Azul, put Jamil’s initials onto every single button up, which is technically embroidery but shhh-)

Faraja works out. A LOT. She weight lifts and body builds and everything- she also WHITTLES tho. Carves shit out of wood. Leona whittled her little toys and she picked up doing it too. Vivienne has a little fennec fox she made for her. OH AND she definitely loves just lying around. She doesn’t nap but does laze around, in the sun. Her ideal nap is on a warm rock in the sun on a breezy day with her girlfriend in her arms

They do think they can run it better than she can, so why doesn’t she just marry them and give them everything?? She fucking despises this shit. (Also. 4. She’s a very warm toned yellow/orange to me, but definitely has some red too! Since she’s the only one with one parent to base off of, her processes are different, so she’s supposed to be very similar to Leona in a few ways (hense the yellow- I almost always draw her in yellows)

This is what nami’s room looks like (other than the fact that everything would probably be blue-). She is very into ruffles and as much fabric as possible bc buries herself into them as a kid. Azul would walk into her room and she’d just be like. Eyes popping out of a stack of pillows and bedding. Her version of an octopot. (She also has Jamil’s taste in pets. She has a pigeon (bc they’re amazing and adorable, I am a 1. Pigeon lover) and has like, caught a few snakes in her life.)

OH also I don’t remember if I’ve ever brought it up, but whenever Nami is inconvenienced more than she’s used to, she SCREAMS. Banshee loud as hell high pitched breaking glass type of scream. You know how azul has that whine cry he does right before his overblot? This is her version of that. Imagine that one scene in mean girls, where that dude tells her abt the ‘diet’ bars making her gain weight, and Regina immediately screams? That’s Nami. The other housewardens (and tamaki + Floyd’s twins) know exactly what it sounds like and exactly what it means. (She’s abt to throw someone)

also almost all of the housewardens have like, weekend outings. When neo went to his first one Samir immediately celebrated bc before HE used to be the smallest and had to sit in the middle seat. Faraja and Viv double sit bc even if they did get pulled over the people in that car are not getting in trouble. You have an Ashengrotto driving, fae and savanna royalty, a famous musician and two Very rich families sitting in that car. No one is messing with that group.

The car trip into town is wild as hell to. It terrifies Neo TO THIS DAY. He cannot deal with it but he goes. The amount of money thrown around scares him too. No one puts a stop to these kids and it’s almost funny to see someone who is also on the same level be like “guys maybe we shouldn’t drop a thousand on a whim-“

OH and randomly ortho will visit Neo. He both likes this and dreads it, bc ortho would rat his crush out without even knowing. There is cartoon levels of comedic “pushing someone into another room in a hall full of doors to avoid contact with another” to keep ortho and Nami away from each other.

Also Nami and Melanie (my rielle and rapunzel based twst daughter bc oh god. They’re so similar plot wise. I thought of it once as a joke and it’s stuck. They’re tied In with my just. Legit twst ocs tho. Including hit pomefiore second year Goth Renzel. I called him goth as a joke once and it stuck) have a like, weirdly dynamic kinda of sorta friendship. They’re like the main points of contact between nrc and rsa

Are Viv & Emil fluent in french/german(??) I imagine they would be because Rook would be such a doting dad making sure they understand it-- but I also imagine during Rooks lessons Vil often needs to remind them to stay on task because in my mind Rook isn't necessarily easily distracted but he does get carried away easily lol also I've seen Vil knowing german but I dont know if thats canon in the game but I do know schoenheit is a german name lol

Viv and Emil are fluent in French, English (as the default universal language bc it is my first language) and Swahili actually! They’re conversational in German

I ADORE the idea that rook is half beastmen, just with dormant/non visible beast parts (fennec fox mother-) , and since he’s from the savanna, they know Swahili from the summers they’d spend with their grandparents.

Rook has spoken to them in French since they were born (like full blown French-French since they were babies. Not just like random French addins full sentences and paragraphs) so it’s just kinda apart of their lives. Emil uses a bit more random French sentences but it’s much more like mumbling under his breath. His way of coping

they both don’t normally have an accent tho. They DO however say all of the borrowed words correctly. Like lowkey pretentious dude saying “croissant” way to correct in the middle of English sentence. Rook would yell at them for saying ANY French word with an english accent. They’re HIS kids and he will be DAMNED if they ever say char-cute-er-E or cro-sant. (Those are the only example words I can think of rn)

It did take Viv and Faraja two years of knowing each other to figure out they both speak Swahili, BUT Faraja has been aware of Viv being 1/4th beastmen since their first month of school.

(Also the bang incident happened their second month of their second year. Someone had cut the front pieces of her hair shorter than the others accidentally, so in a late night haze fueled by the older ignihyde dorm leaders positive renforcement and too much class work, she cut her own bangs. She does vaguely understand how to trim her own hair, but not a big chop. Her bags end up barely being longer than an inch. So now she is HEAVILY panicking bc she was abt to get her ass chewed out by Vil bc she Had an Interview for her new album the next day. One very panicked call ever Faraja is coming over with a silk handkerchief. She folds it and uses it as a headband to pull the bangs back and hidden away. She wears a headband for the rest of the year bc her hair grows excruciatingly slowly)
