In MIRROR MIRROR – Fashion & the Psyche, MoMu – Fashion Museum Antwerp and Dr. Guislain Museum examine how fashion, psychology, self-image and identity are connected. The personal experience of the body is the main theme of this unexpected dialogue between visual art and avant-garde fashion. Featuring work by Ed Atkins, Walter Van Beirendonck, Prada, Maison Martin Margiela, Jil Sander, Worth,Christopher Kane, Noir Kei Ninomiya, Genieve Figgis, Genesis Belanger, Hussein Chalayan, Comme des Garçons, Joseph Schneller, Ezekiel Messou, Giovanni Battista Podestà, Helga Goetze and Yumiko Kawai, among others.

Publication accompanying the exhibition MIRROR MIRROR – Fashion & the Psyche at MoMu – Fashion Museum Antwerp and Dr. Guislain Museum, Ghent from 8 October 2022 to 26 February 2023.

With textual contributions by curators Yoon Hee Lamot and Elisa De Wyngaert. Mara Johanna Kölmel, Lucy Moyse Ferreira, Monika Ankele and Renate Stauss also wrote text contributions.

Fully established at the forefront of contemporary fashion design, the twice named "British Designer of the Year", Hussein Chalayan is renowned for his innovative use of materials, progressive attitudes to new technology and social criticism.  Motivated by ideas drawn from disciplines not readily associated with fashion, Chalayan's pioneering work crosses between architecture, design, philosophy, anthropology, science and technology. His acclaimed runway shows function as performances which allow him to express important concepts. Hussein Chalayan has also presented film works and installations in art exhibitions. In 2005, he represented Turkey at the 51st Venice Biennale with Absent Presence, featuring Tilda Swinton.  This is his first solo exhibition in Japan. Through the presentation of fashion collection, films and installations from 1994 to 2009, the exhibition will comprehensively explore Chalayan's wide range of works.

ahaaaaa !! @jon_jacobsen you are going in the right direction in regards to the spinning circle, yes someone was holding it from the middle, hidden by Björk, now… who is going to guess what it is ? you or @marcofnts, @agneskolignan, @txjaxx, @amphibian68 or ?? !! suspens !! but no @amphibian68 it is definitely not a trombone :) …….. and @samzide, to answer your previous question, the cover must have been shot just before the smoke, around roll 49, I only have the outtakes with me so i can’t give you a more precise answer :)
