Which ships do you take prompts for?

…so so so many. I’m a raging multi shipper and I’m in a lot of fandoms. It’s probably easier to say what I don’t ship.

*SPN: no Wincest or Samifer or Lucifer x anyone. I tend not to ship villains in general. I prefer a ship with either Dean or Cas or both but I’m open to Sam ships too.

*MDZS: no Xuexiao or really any Xue Yang ships (though I think I’d be okay with Xueyu). No Lancest, Niecest, Wencest, or Jiangcest (Wei Wuxian is NOT their blood relative so that doesn’t count for him.) I’m a little reluctant on most Jin Guangyao ships too tho I’ll do 3zun and variations there on. I tend not to like intergenerational stuff so tend to avoid older folks x juniors but I’ll ship the juniors together and depending on the ship I’d probably be willing to try?

*TGCF: …I kinda don’t get Qiurong but I’d be willing to try? But otherwise I think I’m good. I’d even be willing to do Bai Wuxiang ships as long as it’s understood it’s gonna be dark as fuck. No Xianle cousins as a ship. I think I’d struggle with Qi Rong in general but I’d give it a go. No Shicest. (This is a theme, I’m usually out on incest ships)

*SVSSS: other than family/relatives (like Tiankang jun x Luo Binghe) I can’t really think of any no’s? Im especially a proponent of Shen Qingqiu/Yuan harem rights. I’d rather not write Shen Jiu or Original Luo Binghe but…eh, I’m open.

*2ha: fuck Shi Mei. Not literally of course, but I really ain’t out here shipping Shi Mei with literally fucking anyone. Other than that I think I’m mostly game? Though I don’t remember some of the side characters that well, there were just too many names in that one big reveal about Xue what’s-his-name and Luo something-or-other.

*I’m not writing at all for Harry Potter anymore, because J.K. Rowling.

*DMBJ: I haven’t seen Mystic 9 yet so I don’t know those characters and can’t write for them yet; stick to folks in UN and TLTR and I’m probably good for most stuff? Except Wu Sanxing, and the villains, big ol’ nope.

*Qianqiu: until I reread and get a better sense of the side characters I’m pretty Yanshen only.

*Yuri in Ice: I don’t really like Otayuri, Yuri’s just too young for me to personally be comfortable shipping him. But the older folks I’m pretty open to multishipping them.

*Guardian: I’m pretty Weilan centric, I see Chuguo more familial/brotherly, and I haven’t really thought about other ships but idk try me? It’s fun to experiment.

*Leverage: anyone in the team x anyone else in the team, I’m game,

*Check Please: basically just Zimbits. I’d try other things, especially with Shitty, but no Kent Parson at all please.

*Star Wars: mostly JediStormPilotRose and permutations there of but idk I’d try other just about anything other than villains and LukeLeia. I am not familiar with Clone Wars or the Mandolarian and have only seen the movies (not Solo).

*Star Trek: I’ve never done much shippy writing for Star Trek but I’m certainly open to it. I’ve only written Spirk and McKirk, them as twosome or threesomes is good. I’d ship most of the original bridge crew in whatever configurations, really (note that I’m ToS specific, I’m not really into the new movies). I’ve not written for TNG at all but I think it’d be fun to explore. DS9 I’ve only written Miles/Julian but I’ll ship Julian with basically anyone and again I’d be happy to explore any of the main crew x any of the main crew, they all have such good chemistry I think it’d be fun. No Gul Dukat or Kai Winn. They should suffer alone. No Voyager or later series, I just haven’t seen them so I don’t know the characters.

*MCU: any hero x any other hero, in twos or threes or moresomes. I haven’t seen the last three or four movies (my last was…uh…Black Panther, or was Captain Marvel after that?). I’ve seen none of the TV shows except the first two episodes of Hawkeye. I definitely have a preference for the Captains (all three) and Clint but I’ve written World War 3some, Barbershop Quartet, and others. Also I do ship Thorki. Like I said my incest thing isn’t 100% (when they’re not blood relatives I tend not to care if they were raised together.) Deadpool is also fine but I’ve only seen the first, and I haven’t seen either Venom movie.

*Word of Honor: note I haven’t read TYK yet, but I’m open to virtually anything I guess? I’d prefer no Zhang Chengling x older folks. I favor Caoxiang, Wenzhou and Wenzhouyi.

*Other fandoms I’ll write for (most of which I have written for): Babylon 5, Voltron, Firefly, Gundam W, Psych, One Piece, Sherlock Holmes, Horatio Hornblower, any Jane Austen except Northanger Abbey (only cause I’ve never finished it oops), Love Nikki, Ruruoni Kenshin, Fushigi Yuugi, Those Years in Quest of Honor Mine, Slayers, Miraculous Ladybug, Doctor Who (9 and 10 era stuff only), Wheel of Time, the Elenium by David Eddings, Xanth, most but not all CLAMP franchises, The Witcher (but I’ve only seen the first six episodes), Slayers, Hercules, Xena…there’s others too. I’m 39, I’ve consumed soooooo much media, TV, movies, comics, manga, books, everything over the years, I don’t even fucking know anymore so you can always try me?

General note that none of this should be seen as judgement. I’m a pro-shipper. You do you and I will support you and cheer you on, I just won’t read it myself and would rather not write it, tho in truth I’ve never yet found the ship I wouldn’t at least try to write if something about the prompt caught my eye. Like, I HAVE written Wincest, and Wincestiel, and Winjimstiel, when the prompt had me interested. The worst thing that happens if you send me something that isn’t my thing is that I won’t write it, but I promise I won’t judge you or go on the rampage or anything. Shipping is awesome. Fandom is fun. I don’t have to like what others like and others don’t have to like what I like and it’s all good.

Second note: many of these fandoms I either never finished because of time and money and/or I haven’t really actively been in for a decade or more so I can’t promise my characterizations will be spot on or that I’ll remember every character.

Tl:dr I will write most things, though I generally avoid incest/blood relative shipping, cross-generational shipping, and shipping villains x the hero they hurt. I also usually don’t like cis-swaps. My AO3 list of fandoms I’ve written for has like 40 fandoms on it, I’ll write for any of them, and there’s stuff not on that list I’d also write. I will write m/m, m/f, f/f, non binary/non gendered/gender queer stuff, and poly. I’m pro-ship and pro-kink, send me whatever you feel like and if I like it, and know the characters, I’ll write it.

ETA: sure enough forgot stuff and immediately thought of it after. No RPF please, it squicks me, EXCEPT Yizhan. At this point I would write Yizhan if asked.

One last thing

I’m going to take a much needed break after this because i’m not sure i’m gonna continue on with the series. I’m running on 4 hours of sleep so probably my thoughts are incoherent and don’t make sense, so bare with me.

I’m not gonna lie, the Azriel POV felt like a blow and a slap to the face all at once. I kept rereading it because i love pain and I felt mora towards Gwyn than elriel, and this comes from someone that has been shipping elriel since acomaf. I love them. I truly do. I wanted to explore the mating bond not working, the choosing someone over your mate, but azriel’s pov didn’t give me anything like that. It just reforced the fears I had once I knew about gwyn some days before. Now I’m sure Gwyn is great. I’m sure she will be great with Azriel. Sarah loves to explore healing dynamics and i think azriel and gwyn fits that. A victim of assault healing and a guy who has been in love for 500 years and obsessed with another girl he can’t have but finally finding love and healing as well. And this is where my thoughts starts to ramble again:

1. Why didn’t we get elain’s pov?. In the previous book we got Nesta’s but in this one we get Azriel’s , why?. Why not make the sister POV and see her struggles with the mating bond and her attractions towars azriel?. Well, in my eyes it’s because the next book is not about her

2. The 3some situation. Let’s be honest. We all knew it will be a threesome but this isn’t even one. Now we have a mating bond and gwyn. All of this in one book. Tamlin, rhysand and rhys conflict was resolved in two, not in one, and sarah said that each book will focus ON ONE COUPLE. Not two potentials couples. ONE COUPLE EACH. This has been stated by Sarah on her lives, so pardon me but I’m not seeing this going anywhere.

3. Gwyn and Azriel: We know that Az saved her. It’s clear that meant something to Gwyn and he was amused by her. Now people said Gwyn’s arc is completed but is it?. IT’S NOT. Gwyn is not a Valkirie yet and Nesta states that Az and Cassian will still train them and keep an eye on them. Gwyn goes back to the library but her story is nowhere to be completed. The valkyrie training and their dynamic to fight Koschei is still there. Her story might be almost completed but there’s something else to tell. She will still train and Az will monitor. The link is there. Meanwhile we don’t know much about Elain. Like we know Koschei wants her but it doesn’t seem like that’s the next plot, it seems most likely the last one

4. Azriel is horny: When i read his interactions with elain i was like ok.... they had an attraction but is there anything else?. Sure, we got crumbs for 3 books but Nesrin and Chaol did and look where they end up with. Chaol with Yrene a character that was introduced later even though he had a story with Nesrin. Now azriel seems to be angry at the cauldron for not pairing him with elain but is it really about her? Or is it because he wanted a mate so badly after spending 500 years with Mor?. Is it because his brothers found mates and he was like what about me?. Maybe this is exactly what sarah was trying to told us all the time. 3 Ylirians with the 3 sisters its not okay. Azriel questions the mother, and maybe that’s the conflict. He wants a mate so badly and someone who will love him and he will lust and be attracted to complicated but what happens when he will find something different?. Something that is healing and it’s there and he never expected?. Maybe the cauldron and the mother didn’t link him to elain because it wasn’t mean to happen.

5. but..what about elain?. A lot of people said she’s been avoiding lucien and it’s right. We don’t know how she feels towards him really, mostly indiference and I hate the idea of her being forced into something. But we forget lucien and elain’s story is not finished and there’s a TRUE mating bond there plus Gwyn. It’s too much... Maybe elain needed to pursue someone else before realizing the world and the cauldron gave her a mate because that’s how it works. Maybe both elain and azriel needed to find each other to realize what really was there for them. Gwyn and Lucien. Now i don’t like the idea of neither of them and I won’t be reading that for sure. Bceuase 3 books of crumbs and little built up and a chapter of azriel confirming he is into elain just to be taken away after 5 minutes to pursue the gwyn narrative feels LIKE A SLAP INTO MY FACE. It feels as if sarah is saying well you know what you were right for 5 minutes but YOUR TIME IS UP, DING DONG DING WAKE UP!. It feels like she wanted a quick solution for the crumbs and she was like sure, they want to fuck but you know what they can’t because elain is with lucien and the mating bond will show her eventually and now az has someone who will make him realize elain and mor were nothing so let’s continue because elriel is over. You got your 5 minutes now let’s go back to the mating bond

6. Gwyn. Sarah has always stated her books are about healing and a personal journey. Gwyn is a victim of sexual assault and azriel saved her. By the end of the book azriel looks..happy. He seems comfortable with Gwyn. Eased. His shadows sing, he is a singer and so is she. He can imagine her face while getting that necklace and HE IS TREASURING THAT THOUGHT. He has hope again because gwyn is there and he can see her gleaming eyes and theres a true beauty there... Now we can agree it’s shitty what he did with the neclace but was he that moved about the fact that elain gave back the neclakce? He didn’t look that bothered. And it’s clear there’s a seed for gwyn and elain and it’s a strong one otherwise he wouldn’t have smiled thinking about her or end the chapter thinking about her face or slept perfectly.

7. Going back to the mating thing. Rhys said that usually males will go crazy and females can’t be completely unaffected. There’s a story with Kodschei, Vassa and elain seems like the key. Maybe they will need elain to fight Koschei in the end and elain will be willing to go with lucien since azriel hurted her. Maybe realizing az is not there will finally allow her to open her eyes and at least try. Let’s be honest, elain was not fond of meeting lucien but maybe it was because she felt like she had no choice. Maybe in the end azriel it’s just the push for her to finally try to give lucien a try. Without azriel elain probably wouldn’t have talk to lucien. But if she is hurt maybe she will try to give lucien a chance and azriel and her will part ways. Maybe az and elain are just the push they needed to move on.

8. I know there are crumbs. I know he is protective of elain and he cares about her. But honestly in his POV it doesn’t look like it. It’s just look like a 5 year old kid who was pissed at the cauldron. And let’s be honest all his brothers has mates, az will find one, specially since sarah said she is excited to give him a story. I believe az and elain are the nesryn /chaol/yrene of all this. Sarah loves love triangles but usually they always end up with the later: aelin with rowan, dorian with manon, chaol with yrene.... usually the first one it’s never the option. Chaol had development with celaena. There was attraction but in the end neither of them were together. Feyre had a relationship with tamlin. They were in love and yet she needed time to realize rhys was the one. It took her some time to heal and yet she find her mate. This is the exact same thing. Crumbs for elriel but at the end there’s someone else, and the mother is there. Maybe that’s why the cauldron didn’t connect them. Because there was someone else

9. But..the mating bond rejection?. Rhys forgot about that one. There’s a trial. There is no way lucien is going to die and there’s no way azriel is gonna challenge him with a war coming. That would be too messy and we would need lucien present to see everything. Lucien will have to go back, see azriel and elain, accepted it and fight or not Az. is all of this going to happen in one book?. Withour gwyn maybe but gwyn is there.

10. How is elain feeling?. I haven’t forgotten about her. I’m surprised we didn’t get her POV and we got azriel’s. She gave the neclace back and she is avoiding him at all costs. We don’t know what is going through her mind and she is alone now. Her sisters are happy. Azriel seems happy with gwyn. She is alone with a mating bond and koschei after her and nesta. I don’t know how she is feeling and honestly i believe elain and az deserved better. Deserved better that this poorly written narrative where they lust after each other, give gifts to each other just to end up separated and azriel having other woman, his shadows singing and him treasuring the image of her and the blossomed beauty. A secret, treasured beauty. That’s about gwyn. And i think in the end sarah j maas got what she wanted. The mating bonds all in place at the expense of elriel. I know there’s a chance I’m wrong. But it feels like elriel was there for a minute and then it was crashed. The pov is not about elriel It’s about azriel finding someone else and having another crush. It’s about rejection and healing again. It’ about az being pissed at the cauldron for not getting a mate but maybe not realizing the true one is out there. It’s all about elriel being attracted to each other but for what?.

I’m sure i’m missing a lot of stuff. I’m sure gwyn is great and lovely and her story with az will be epic. I’m sure the mating bonds work and elucien will be great in the future. But it’s the same thing over and over again and i’m tired of couples being hinted just to be the realization of other couples being the true endgame. And elriel feels like a temporary thing sarah wrote.

Now i know i sound like a hater or someone who doesn’t like elriel. But it’s quite the opposite. I loved them for years. I knew they had all the odds against them, just like chaol and celaena did. I know they found great lovers. But i can’t help feeling like losing because nothing about his POV seems right and i’m failing to forget the last part of that chapter and az’s feelings towards gwyn. And i think deep down i truly lost with them

Musical episode: Yay or nay?

I got really drunk to watch that episode, and it wasn’t as painful as I expected it to be...but damn. It’s a nay from me, but I have to admit that a couple of the songs are catchy and, well, the Evil Queen dancing.... hummina hummina. I just pretend the CS stuff didn’t happen.

When did you start watching Once, and do you remember why?

I’ve been watching from the beginning, but I only watched about half of season 1 and came back at the beginning of season 2. I started watching it for the costumes...and pretty well stayed for the costumes. As seasons 2 and 3 aired, I watched it with my friend Amanda and we kinda liveblogged to each other. Then my work schedule changed and I didn’t watch for two seasons, came back in at the beginning of season 6 after a binge watch and falling completely in love with Regina.

What made watching Once worthwhile?

It was campy fun most of the time and I’m the sort of person who doesn’t get impatient with camp...usually. Loved seeing what outfits they were going to stick Regina in.

First + Current Main Ships?

I guess I can say I shipped CS (I do say that, actually, so yeah) but more in a general audience sort of “shipping” rather than hardcore shipping. Like...I would tell Amanda “They should just kiss already” but I never read CS fanfic or went out of my way to view fan art. I probably was more accurately a Hooker than really CS. I never was a super Emma fan, though ironically she grew on me when she was the Dark One. Must have been the leather.

Current ships: Anything with Regina. :) Well. Almost. My OTP is romantic Snow Queen, OT3 is probably Evil Snowing, though I also love DOQ and some wlw 3somes.

First + Current Favourite character?

Regina, always.

Favourite arc (Why?)?

I don’t think it’s really an arc, but I enjoyed season 2 the most. Maybe that’s because it’s when I really got into the show, but there was a lot that season that I loved. For the true arcs, I know a lot of people hated the Frozen arc, but I liked it. I liked a goodly part of Camelot too. I would have really liked season 6 better (loved split queen for the most part) if they hadn’t tried to introduce so many things and then not tie up very many of them.

Favourite plot twist?

Red being the wolf...though I kinda predicted it.

Hardest death to watch?

Robin. And Daniel’s re-death in The Stable Boy. Because Lana’s face.

This character should have gotten more time?

Maleficent. I would have loved to have her around more.

Facilier. Look, I know they were setting something up for him in season 8, and I really wish we could have gotten to see what it WAS. His incomplete story made him feel kind of pointless in the end.

How do you summarize the show to your friends? (max. 3 sentences)

Disney/fairytale characters in the real world having wacky misadventures that usually involve curses.

Favourite Once specific trope (think Memory Wipe, Family Trees, Glowing Walkey-Talkey Hearts, Head Achey Timelines…)

Plot Holes of DOOM. Wait. No. That’s not a favourite thing. It’s just something I bitch talk about a lot. Umm. I think everyone being Cora is my favourite.

If you could take home any prop from the set, what would it be?

Does it have to be a prop?? I want to swipe one of Regina’s costumes. If it has to be a prop - the dark one dagger.

Favourite funny scene?

Drunk Snow and the vikings. Hands down.

Honourable mention: Dr. Frankenstein and Dr. Jekyll cooking meth making potions in Frankenstein/Whale’s garage with Snow and Regina looking on and Snow wanting to co-opt them to be science teachers.

Favorite Platonic Ship: Platonic? What’s that? LOL. I kid. Regal Believer.

Favorite dish from Granny’s? Diners generally have bomb hamburgers, so I’d probably say cheeseburger. I would like to try her lasagna though.

January 5: Thoughts on 1x05 Twilight’s Last Gleaming

Watched Twilight’s Last Gleaming last night. It always takes me like 3 hours to watch an ep of The 100 because I have to stop every 5 seconds to write something down. Also last night just when I started watching R started texting me and so I was trying to do three things at once: watch, write up notes, and converse with her. But I did it anyway oh well. My thoughts, in order of appearance though perhaps someday I’ll come back and elaborate on some of this stuff I dunno.

Clarke is serious with Finn during their ‘lying around in bed’ phase and he makes a joke back at her and IDK I’m half-sure it’s supposed to be charming (she seems to like it in the moment) but the only thing I can think is: Bellamy would never. (On the other hand this might literally be the only light-hearted sex this show has ever had so there’s that.) (Yes I know he was cheating I mean light-hearted in the micro sense.)

Okay, Abby, when arrested, is put in a cell, which tells me that the prison is actually also used for adults just for shorter-term purposes: it holds people awaiting trial and/or execution. Also she is granted “work release pending review.” Is the “review” a trial? Or something else? IMO they don’t actually use trials in all circumstances (Kane has the power of both the finder of fact and finder of law in a decidedly un-judicial setting the first time he sentences Abby to die while in the Go-Sci command center room; ...lol it’s hard to keep all of the death sentences straight). But I think sometimes they do. Or a trial like thing. (See Skywalker dialogue.) Also, I wonder if work release is common. Also I wonder how many adults they usually have in the prison section and if they’re kept separate from the kids or not. I would assume yes, given that Abby is in a solitary cell. Jaha says that prison has been on “half air since midnight.” I feel like the obvious question is: why give it any air at all? If the situation is that critical, and assuming there are not that many prisoners left once you get rid of the kids--why not totally evacuate it and shut it down? I realize that’s probably a bandaid on a gigantic gash but like it’s something.

Aw Bellamy didn’t just have a 3some, he was cuddling.

Clarke is so completely unromantic in the broad sense. Thinking about supplies, making plans--”okay, minute’s done” when Finn asks her to consider how nice it is not being dead. I guess Finn was supposed to be the counter to her: the overly romantic.

I’m going to assume the little girl Reese didn’t survive the crash of the Ark but I wish she had because I’d like to know how her partial blindness affects her going forward. Also look at how Jackson touches Abby so sweet.

“That doesn’t mean you can predict what everyone’s going to do.” / “That’s exactly what I have to do.” Okay she definitely sees herself as a leader at this point. A leader with a potential savior complex ready to exploit tbh.

Thoughts from the Bell and O scene: He sees Jaha as the responsible one for all the judicial stuff on the Ark--a common perception. Interesting. Octavia talks big but yet again freaks out at the reality of hard choices: she wants everyone on the Ark to fuck off but finds out one of them, a very culpable one from her pov, is dead and she’s like AAAAH WHAT. Also, Bellamy takes immediate responsibility. Boy really does feel the weight of the world. It is his instinct to be at fault. (In this case, he is of course. But he could have pawned it off and he doesn’t.)

Jaha’s room: is this the same set that is used as Abby’s chancellor quarters in S3 or am I making that up? Is it supposed to be the same? Also he has a punching bag in his room nifty detail.

It’s interesting that Jaha wanted to sacrifice himself. It’s a bad tactical decision imo and I also can’t help but consider it cowardly but anyway it’s really, really fascinating to me and I feel this scene/plot point should be more thoroughly unpacked. By a more awake person.

Raven’s arrival is one of my favorite scenes though. Also my Princess Mechanic heart...

Again with the Finn + Clarke too much emotion vs. all business thing. Also, Clarke helped Raven out of the ship, watched her take off her space suit, and interacted with her for probably several minutes without introducing herself lol. Too busy being smitten.

Does this Jaha and Abby conversation about the culling sound an awful lot like the Clarke and L/xa conversation about TonDC???? Is it supposed to????

“Hey Princess, you taking a walk in the woods?” Like IDEK how to read that line it’s just...so funny? Is he trying to be smooth?

This Clarke/Bellamy/Finn/Raven scene is also really great and beyond my ability to properly interpret now. Clarke is like the best politician though. I mean yeah she’s manipulative but in a very...incisive way. She knows just what to say to Bellamy (unlike Finn and Raven who literally just throw him around and threaten him)--though generally I think he makes the better speeches they’re both very good at reading others imo. It’s not just that she appeals to his better nature; she specifically mentions the probable culling victims as “[his] people.”

Also is the implication that Bellamy and Raven do or do not know each other? I think they do not but I can see it either way.

“This will start a riot.” / “Good. Maybe we need one.”

Okay I’ve seen it before repeatedly but the Section 17 volunteers still make me cry. It never stops being tragic.

(But it wasn’t at all Bellamy’s fault and neither he nor Kane could have stopped all of those people from dying but that’s yet another ramble for another day.)

Also okay they all have some sort of identification tags, interesting.

Raven and Clarke scene: I would almost joke that Raven was trying to get Clarke blown up by having her take out the fuel but actually I think she sees Clarke as the real leader (interestingly, Raven might be the exception to the delinquents see Bell as main leader thing???) and wants to chat. Also, for her to say she’s never seen love like Abby’s after saying she’d do pretty much anything for Finn says a lot. Not that I think a teen relationship’s love is comparable to a mother’s, but that a teen might not see that, so wrapped up in her own feelings as she probably is. But Raven does.

“One decision does not define a man.”

So the two shooting star conversations are in the same ep, and Clarke takes something from one love interest, and transfers it--that idea, that conversation--to someone else. Her platonic friend obviously. Also I think this is the first, like, /friendly/ conversation they’ve had. Like not antagonistic, not heated, not about what they have to do or about a danger situation just...talking.

Of course then it shades into what is imo a great Princess Mechanic moment so. How Raven just looks over at Clarke... I dunno but I thinks she’s in love.
