Rewatching Among Us Hide
Tumblr media
I don’t recall Andrew being Lash as a particularly shocking revelation, more like a “ahh, of course” moment that made everything click. His anger at not having been told about Alisha. His suggestion to Jemma that it was okay “to feel uncomfortable in your own skin” which she had rebutted pointing out it applied to newly-transformed Inhumans more than recently-retrieved-from-across-the-galaxy British scientists. The fact that Lash hadn’t tried to kill Daisy while she was pretty vulnerable.
And of course Andrew bailing out on May in a way that seemed quite out of character if taken at face value. The man we had met in S2 would never just run and hide out of a relationship that wasn’t working for him, nor he would do it to settle a score, like May fears (“I did the same to you. Now we’re even”).
The implications, though, were shocking. Because there was no way it was going to end well. 😭

Hate Fu Masters:
Before learning that her ex-husband has been moonlighting as a serial killer, May helps Bobbi getting back on the fighting horse, with her trademark no-nonsense approach and you have to wonder how sooner it might have happened if May hadn’t been on sabbatical. I’m sure Bobbi would have eventually gotten there on her own, but it’s clear that being without May didn’t do S.H.I.E.L.D. any favors. Sadly, their hunt for Ward isn’t successful (join the club, right?), which was disappointing because I had been looking forward to a rematch with a healthy Bobbi.

Latte-powered Conspiracy Nut:
Back in D.C., Daisy’s instinctive and healthy distrust of the ATCU gets the first solid confirmation. Sure, Rosalind expounds noble motives (which are also disturbing) but I never really believed there wasn’t anything more nefarious going on. It was back on the “Rosalind is evil” train for me. I’m really glad that part at least wasn’t true, Margaret Thatcher’s obsession notwithstanding 😉
Stuff that crossed my mind:
Hey, they do have medical doctors! I guess with Jemma away on her interstellar vacation, Coulson was forced to finally recruit some. 😁
You know, my experience is limited, but I'd say they were professionals. -- It was Hydra. When is it not? 😩
May, this isn’t your fault. I don’t think she’s going to believe you but I appreciate the effort.
Coulson’s orders were to end him. I had one shot. I took it. -- And you missed. You know the saying, if you want something done right....
Yeah, I’m back. I can’t watch this scene without thinking of the blooper. I love bloopers but sometimes they’re a curse.
He killed a man to get close to you. He wanted you dead that much. -- They all want me dead that much! Yep. They take betrayal, murder, torture and now rebuilding the nazi fan club very personally, for some reason...
But good news, I have a theory. -- I like theories. Me, too! Especially yours! 😎
You're not having a hard time working her, are you? Not getting too attached? Daisy, relax. Mom and dad still love you even if they aren’t together anymore... 🤭 sorry, I’m mean. She’s not wrong to worry, nor asking about it.
What the hell?!  Good morning, Bobbi, you’re scheduled for a new physical test today, with Dr. Melinda May. Didn’t they tell you? 😁
You’re really going back in the field? After him? -- I’m ready. -- Are you lying? -- No. That...wasn’t very convincing.
He's on the run from Ward, from us...almost makes me feel sorry for the kid. And it will only get worse for him. He may not be the best human being ever but he got one of the rawest deals and there were more deserving candidates for that level of misery.
Speaking of characters who deserved all the bad they eventually got, here comes Hive’s #1 Stan, Gideon Malick.
You won't tell me where your base is. -- You know I run a spy organization, right? -- And you know we agreed to share information, right? Which he has done and then some, since Rosalind knew Daisy’s name and abilities two episodes ago. And I’m still not okay with that, for the record.
Why are you here? -- Coulson put me on the bench. So I thought I would offer my expertise elsewhere. Hunter’s been grounded. Director Dad is putting his foot down.
I heard you had a run-in with [Lash]. Glad you're okay. -- That is what I don't understand. Why am I okay? He kills Inhumans. He killed Frye. Why spare me? Very relevant question. Nice to see someone is asking it.
[Banks]’s got access to everything that ATCU learns about Inhumans. He also has a face that screams "I will murder you in your sleep”, both of you are already predisposed to distrust anything ATCU (good for you) and it would make for such a satisfying “I told you so” moment with Coulson, if the ATCU was connected to the killings. So it’s a very tempting theory.
I’ll drive. I mean, please. C’mon, give the guy a chance. Director Dad doesn’t need to know.
Look, it's not like I just handed over Andrew and said, “hey, please kill our friend”. -- Right. “I had no choice”. You loathe that excuse, too, Mack? Good. 🤝
And this is a good idea how? -- I didn't kill him, I just iced him. -- And screwed Coulson. He's working Rosalind, and you just shot her number two. When she finds out -- She won't. That's what the bandana's for. Lash is an Inhuman. Inhumans have markers in their DNA. If we test Banks' blood for markers, we'll know if he's Inhuman or not.-- That's actually kind of smart. Don’t look so surprised... Although one must hope Banks doesn’t have any idea Icers are a thing and who uses them...
The wireless scanning gizmo from 2x12 is back.
Banks shops at Costco and doesn’t do selfies.
If you were looking to earn some sympathy from me, soften me up, say, a staged break-in might be one way to do it. -- Interesting. Also interesting, my home had a break-in for the first time ever on the exact day you knew I'd be out. Did someone mention something about spies and trust issues?
Coulson will keep that baseball bat as there’s one in the collection of things he sold in S5. I hope at some point after the world didn’t crack someone went back and bought it all back. 😔
I said I wanted back in the field. -- Sure. After Bahrain, I said I hated my cubicle. Didn't mean it. Coulson says, "stay home," and you just agree? Why are you keeping yourself locked up? Because she’s having a blast in the lab playing “Match the bag to the sample” with Fitz? 😁
What Ward did, you think that was just experience? 😢 *adds yet another entry into the “all the times I wanted to force-choke Ward” list*
The correct question is what I can offer you. The answer, in case you're wondering, is redemption. -- Oh, no, thanks. I don't need redeeming. Well. I daresay it’s not happening. Besides, Malick’s brand of “redemption” is spelled “damnation”, so...
Now we use the new dwarf Fitz crafted. He doesn't think it's ready yet, but that's stupid because it's awesome, so I stole it. What? I didn't say you were the only one with issues. The image of Daisy sneaking into the lab, stealing Fitz’s best toys... please tell me somebody wrote a story from this?
It's an odd situation.-- Yeah. It's one of the oddest, even for us. Your oddness scale is going to need a substantial recalibration. *cackles*
This is ATCU. This is where they're storing Inhumans they find. Like animals in cages. It’s always worse than what you had imagined, isn’t it? 😔
He should be freaking out. This is the sort of thing that should freak a person out. Why is he not burning this place to the ground? Well, for one, he doesn’t have a flamethrower. Or, you know, incendiary powers. I think the ATCU is lucky she’s only watching this from a distance and Mack’s there to interrupt this train of possibly dangerous but potentially very entertaining thoughts if I’m truthful... 😁
There’s no way we’re working with the ATCU now. Don’t get your hopes up.
You’re bothered by this. I would be concerned if he wasn’t.
Yes, they can be dangerous. I’ve seen that. But it doesn’t begin to justify... Oh, thank you. Too bad Daisy can’t hear you.
This thing is like an illness. But we’re working on a cure.  [...] It’s like putting someone in a medically induced coma to make them better. Imagine doing that for someone who has no other shot. Whatever. It’s not what the ATCU is really doing anyway, and I’m saving my soapbox time on this particular subject all for Lincoln in a few episodes.
Before you said that you thought I wanted you to like me. [...] that part might be a little true. Maybe. -- Good. Philinda Alert state: Defcon 2?
So long, Kebo. I thought you were done at least twice already but I don’t think you’re coming back from this one. Ward’s going to need another lackey.
I didn't know he'd change into that thing. [...] No...That's not true. -- What is he? -- I don't know. A parasiticide?
