experiencing the highs and lows of getting one hour of sleep in the past 24+ hours, having unmedicated adhd, having being overstimulated several times, in a different place that usual and getting caught in pouring rain without a jacket or umbrella (multiple times) and then kinda having my feelings ignored by everyone around me while someone feeling a similar way gets attention

Secret Santa: @zensations35
Hey Zen! :D You got me as your secret santa this year, hopefully this’ll be up to your standards, I had some pretty big boots to fill. Now I’ve never written male snz before so please excuse the quality. We’ve a few avengers featuring at the beginning of this then we go very Loki focused at the end for you. Hopefully this’ll be enjoyable to read :D
Under the cut: MAINLY male snz, tiny snippet of female sprinkled in, slight contagion but nothing too major :)
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Had he known this were to happen, Loki really wouldn’t have bothered going to that god damn party.
It had all started a week ago, Clint Barton had just returned from a week-long stake out overseas, it was a valuable mission. One he completed well. But it wasn’t just a new report of the bases’ ongoing activities which the archer had been kind enough to bring home with him.
“HaH! HH’aETSCHOO!” He barrelled forwards, the edges of his unnaturally red nose twitching as he held a calloused hand lazily in front of his face in apprehension for the next. Not that he did a job of covering up his first one.
“Christ Clint, cover your mouth.” The redheaded spy seated at the end of the table retorted, her usually stoic face cringing at the sound of the thick wet sniffles that he gave in response. He sounded awful. Of course, she had sympathy for her partner, but that sympathy was buried by the urge to violently hurl a box of tissues in his general direction. She did not want to catch that.
Who could blame her really? Everyone was thinking it. Shared glances and hushed whispers made their way round the dining table. Nobody wanted to be the person to say that Clint should probably have been curled up in bed instead of sat sharing (more than) breakfast with the team but as it was his first day back, exceptions were made.
Boy did people really come to regret that. It had taken, what was it, 12 hours? For the second pair of sniffles to be heard in the tower. Tony, sat in his lab, looked up from the mess of wires he has been working on soldering to see Bruce swiping a quick finger beneath his nose. A very recognisable, pre-sneeze look clouding his features. God damn it, Barton! The genius thought to himself, realising that maybe sharing a meal with a man too tired to be bothered about the consequences sharing his germs probably wasn’t the greatest idea in hindsight.
“Damn, hIh- It.” It seems his lab partner was thinking the same thing as his head reared backing, with yet another hitching breath. Then another.. And another. “Hah- Fuck.” Now Bruce wasn’t one to swear but this was an exception. He needed to sneeze, he could feel it right there! Just in the bridge of his nose, but it wouldn’t quite- “Hhh..HAH-”
Suddenly he drew in a loud inhale, more so resembling someone taking in a long deep breath before diving into water. But this wasn’t for holding his breath. The scientist suddenly found his body diving forward with a loud, desperate, “GHAH’CHH! HaH’HTSHOO!”
Barton was clearly more contagious than he thought. Shit.
Maybe had this cold had come at an opportune time, when things were less busy, people wouldn’t had been so annoyed, but this coming Friday was the date of Stark’s annual holiday party. Something the genius was not planning on missing. Some would say that Stark parties over the top. Tony preferred ‘extravagant.” Whatever they were, they were always a big deal. Fully stocked bar, music, dancing. The whole deal. And a Stark party would never, could never, be postponed, the mere thought of it went against his entire ideology. It was an insult to him personally for anyone to even suggest such an action. No. This party would be going ahead. With full attendance.
Sniffles or not.
Day’s passed yet no-one seemed to be improving. Barton had finally retired to his bedroom in an attempt to prevent thing’s being shared further but it was a little too late for that. Pepper also already begun to sniffle last night, Bruce was currently sat surrounded by a pile of tissues in his lab and even Cap had begun clearing his throat intermittently. Tony could swear he felt his throat tickle every now and then – that might’ve just been hypochondria though. But regardless, now wasn’t the time for sickness. There were things that needed celebrating and tonight they would.
Loki hadn’t even been planning to attend the event in the first place. Why would he? Sure, he may be at the point where he was civil with most of the Avengers by now but “frolicking around with that pretentious asshole”, the asshole in question needing no introduction, was not how he wanted to spend him evening.
“Come on, you know you enjoy it really!” It was only after several hours of nagging from Thor that he finally agreed to trouble himself with the effort of attending. If anything, his attendance was only to please his brother - definitely not the promise that he would have full unrestricted access to the open bar.
The night of Stark's annual holiday party arrived, and the Tower was transformed into a dazzling spectacle of lights, music, and laughter. The atmosphere was alive with celebration, and even those who were feeling under the weather couldn't resist the allure of the extravagant event. Not that they had much choice anyway.
Loki, clad in his customary green and gold attire, stood at the edge of the crowded room, observing the festivities with a detached interest. He quickly downed a drink he’d swiped from the doorman’s desk and allowed himself into the bustling crowd, leaving the empty glass on a random table as shifted through the masses. He’d almost made it over to his brother but was interrupted with a sudden slap on the back.
“Enjoying the party?" Came the still slightly Coarse voice of a seemingly now more energetic Clint. The day he’s spent resting seemingly reviving his energy.
The God raised an eyebrow, acknowledging the archer with a nod. "As much as one can enjoy these mortals' festivities." He shifted, noticing the man’s slightly rough appearance. Do these people really not clean themselves up for special events? Typical. He tsk’d to himself
Clint chuckled, seemingly unfazed by Loki's disdain. "Well, they know how to throw a good party. You should try the drinks; they're divine."
Loki smirked, intrigued despite himself. "Divine, you say? I may indulge in a taste." He quipped, taking the drink from the man’s and swigging it before he had a chance to interject.
It wasn’t like he’d be able to warn him much anyway. Clint suddenly sneezed without warning. The unexpected spray catching both of them off guard.
“HhHAHTSCHOO!“
"Gah! Sorry about that," Clint apologised, wiping his nose with the back of his hand, “Still a little under the weather I guess.” He sniffled to himself, before being called away from someone, leaving the God revelling in genuine disgust.
“Christ,” Loki muttered to himself, taking off his spray-speckled blazer and groaning in repulsion, “This jacket costs most then your entire outfit and you have to nerve to sneeze on it?” He mumbled to himself, shaking his head with a sigh. Mortals. Their lack of manners never seemed improve.
Maybe if he’d gone home at that point, he still could’ve escaped unharmed. But no, he just had to get and get himself another drink – he deserved one another dealing with that -. Afterall he did come here to enjoy himself.
The god made his way through the crowd, eyes rolling at some of the terrible dancing he saw from the playboy genius on his way. People really looked up to this guy?
He approached the bar, sliding onto one of the pristine white stools tucked into the counter, “Can I get a larg-” He began, but the redhead stood behind the bar held up a silent finger, stopping him in his tracks as a hazed expression shifted her features, making her eyelashes flutter rapidly.
“Ih’shIEW! Hup’TSHH! Hih!-Hh-IshHh’tSHU!” Her small frame seemed to helplessly curl in on herself as she bent at the waist while simultanously turning away to catch her sneezes into her hands. She coughed a little as she straightened herself back up.
“Do egxcuse me.” Her voice was flooded with congestion. Natasha dared to sniffle before pulling out a napkin from somewhere. How did spies always seem to have hidden pockets in every outfit he wondered to himself, not that he was jealous or anything. Magic would always superior for making things appear and disappear without a trace but for a human, she did a pretty good job at keeping things discreet. She held the napkin to her nose, and he looked away. Clearly she was embarrassed around the whole thing. Normally he would’ve taken advantage of that, even found it somewhat comical, but 2-drink Loki was a bit of a softie. Especially when the usually tough-unbreakable Natasha Romanoff looked as if though she was about to crumble.
She blew her nose quietly and cleared her through but this time different voice spoke as he looked up from his drink. “I told you that you should’ve stayed in bed.” Maria purred softly, coming round to slink her arms around the Nat’s waist, pulling her closer from behind as she too seemingly also appeared from nowhere, “You’re not one to get sick, I don’t want you exhausting yourself.”
How cute they looked. Maybe too cute. Loki didn’t want to be deliberately rude but this little moment was getting a little too sappy for his likings. The God cleared his throat loudly,, bringing both women back to the present moment, “Mind if I take that drink now?”
Maria rolled her eyes, releasing Natasha and stepping back. "Fine, fine. Get him his drink so he doesn't feel neglected," she said, giving Loki a wry smile before pressing a soft kiss to her girlfriend’s cheek.
“The usual?” The redhead asked, not really needing an answer and her nose still twitched a little as she began to pour a dark coloured liquid into a crystallised glass. Oh? He quirked a raised eyebrow in surprise at her remembrance of how he takes his drinks. “Thank you.” Loki smirked before taking a sip of the drink that had been slided infront of him. He would’ve stayed to talk a little longer – truthfully he liked the company of the girls a lot more than he did some of the others – but he was soon whisked away when Thor came over, wearing an alcohol fuelled smile.
“Brother! You came.” He called loudly, raising his glass into the air as he pulled the God away from the bar and towards the group of older men loudly laughing and flaunting their old stories of victory, “You must tell them of our time on Crumelia!” He cheered, referencing the planet the two had visited together a few months prior.
The night wore on with laughter, music, and a myriad of conversations. Loki found himself drawn into Thor's tales of heroism and adventure, the alcohol making the stories more entertaining than he would care to admit. The atmosphere of the party did have a certain charm, he begrudgingly acknowledged.
As the night reached its peak, Loki eventually excused himself from the lively group, citing the need for a moment of solitude. He retreated to a quieter corner of the room, nursing his drink as he observed the chaotic dance floor. The revelry continued around him, but he felt a growing fatigue.
Eventually, the party began to wind down, and guests started to make their way home. Thor had offered out their spare-room for the God so instead of filtering out with the rest of the attendee’s he stayed behind until it was only the Avengers left.
They had huddled into a group now, all nursing their last drinks of the night. Well, nearly all of them. Natasha had already fallen asleep against Maria’s, her mouth hanging slightly open as she snored quietly - much to the earlier vast assusment of everyone at seeing their resident spy finally acting like a true human being for once. Loki couldn’t help but join in as they all continued to laugh and share stories. Of course Thor had brung out his hammer, as he always does, encouraging the others to finally see if they were worthy enough to wield it.
The alcohol that had fueled his earlier enthusiasm now served as a heavy lullaby, coaxing him towards the realm of sleep. The laughter and camaraderie of the Avengers became a distant hum as he excused himself from the group, citing the need for rest. Thor, still in high spirits, clapped a hand on Loki's shoulder. "Rest well, brother! We shall regale you with tales of today's merriment in the morning."
With a nod and a faint smile, Loki made his way to the guest room assigned to him. The Tower, now quieter and dimly lit, felt strangely peaceful. He closed the door behind him, shutting out the remnants of the party.
The bed, though not the grandeur of his Asgardian chambers, looked inviting. Loki undid the clasps of his elaborate attire, letting the green and gold fabric fall to the floor. The room was cool, a stark contrast to the warmth of the festivities. Maybe the night hadn’t been so bad after all.
Well. That’s what he thought atleast. Until he woke up the next morning.
Loki awoke to a pounding headache and a throat that felt like it had been scorched by fire. He groaned, burying his face into the pillow as he attempted to ignore the discomfort. The room, once serene, now seemed to spin with every movement.
Still, he dragged himself out of bed and stumbled towards the bathroom, ignoring the disheveled state of his room. The reflection in the mirror revealed a pale and weary god, a far cry from the composed trickster he usually presented to the world. The remembrance of the previous night’s music and laughter seemed to mock his misery. With each step, he felt weaker, his body aching and chilled and his chest rumbled with a deep, rattling cough. Stupid mortal germs!
He cursed them out, but before he could utter anymore foul words against anyone, his nose itched. A wild tickle, causing his jaw to go slack, fruitless to fight against it, “HAh'tsCHIEW! HHUh-Hah’ESHOO! Heh'gnXNNT! Guh...” He sniffled wetly, grimacing at the feeling of thick congestion already beginning to settle in his sinsues.
As he swayed there in place, contemplating the unfairness of his situation, he was once again helpless to the burning itch in his sinuses. "Hah'KSHIEW!” Ugh, curse these wretched germs," he grumbled, his frustration growing. The once-mighty god now felt as vulnerable as any mere mortal and that alone made him feel 10x worse.
He was Loki! A trickster! A God! And yet here he was, shivering and sniffling through his stuffed up nose like such... such.. such a weakling! With a drasted sigh, he humbled himself and resigned to the fact this was just something he was going to have to get through. He grabbed a box of tissues and blew his nose, the sound echoing in the quiet room making him cringe at himself. He hated this.
Throughout the day, Loki's condition deteriorated further. Sneezes punctuated his every attempt to gather his bearings, each one a reminder of his weakened state. The once proud and regal god found himself reduced to a pitiful figure, wrapped in a blanket on the couch in one of the many communal areas of the the tower, a book in hand, with tissues strewn around him like confetti. His nose was raw from constant wiping, and his eyes were red and watery as he tried to make sense of the words infront of him.
"Hah'KSHIEW! Hhih! Hh..Hah'PTSHIEW! Ugh, this is insufferable," Loki muttered to himself as he turned the page. The trickster god, usually quick-witted and sly, now sniffled pathetically as he tried to regain some semblance of composure. He couldn’t even read properly without having to stop to sniffle every few seconds.
His attempts to use his magic to alleviate his symptoms proved futile. It only left him shivering and exhausted in wake of his efforts. With a final shiver, he sighed and closed his book. He was getting nowhere like this. He needed to sleep.
However it was just as the God resigned himself to the need for sleep, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the quiet tower. Thor, ever watchful of his mischievous brother, entered the room, a concerned expression crossing his face as he witnessed Loki's disheveled state.
"Brother!" Thor exclaimed, his voice a mix of worry and exasperation. "What in the realms has befallen you? You look as if you've faced the wrath of a frost giant!"
Loki glanced up, his eyes weary and red, and managed a weak smirk. "Just a mere inconvenience, dear brother. Mortal germs have decided to wage war on Asgardian immunity.” He sniffled thickly, the act irritating his already rubbed-raw nose, causing it to twitch maddeningly.
“Ha-hh.. Hah'KSHIEW! HhhH’HhtSHH! hh’EKSHIEW! God, fgucking, damn HhH- it! Hhh’TSCHOO!”
The thunder god’s eyes widened in surprise at his brothers outburst, offering out a tissue as he tried hopelessly to clean himself up. “I believe the native curtesy is to say ‘bless you.’” Thor chuckled, extending a firm hand to squeeze Loki’s shoulder, “I’ve also heard about the wonders of tea for these sorts of ailments, I’ll go and prepare some.”
The ever-caring brother, quickly made his way to the kitchen to prepare a soothing cup of tea. The scent of chamomile and honey filled the air as he expertly brewed the remedy. Returning with a steaming mug, he handed it to Loki, his concern evident in his eyes, “Just try some.” He urged.
Loki begrudgingly accepted the tea, the warmth seeping into his chilled fingers. "Fine, fine," he muttered, taking a sip and feeling a slight sense of relief slowly come over him.
"It’s not awful," He sniffled begrudgingly.
Thor grinned, satisfied. "Rest now, brother. Back to bed with you.” He motioned, holding out a hand to pull his brother up from the sofa, making sure he had properly gained his balance before letting go.
Resigned to his fate, the trickster went back to his room and wrapped himself in a thick robe. The fabric doing little to stave off the persistent chill that clung to him so he trudged back to his bed, tissues in hand, and succumbed to the discomfort that accompanied his illness. The room, once filled with the echoes of revelry, was now a silent witness to man’s struggles against the common cold.

I just got such a scrumptious idea😭
Jeff hardy x reader
Ok so reader is also a high flyer and has about the same amount of concern for themselves as jeff does for himself and they suffer a really bad injury in a 3 way tag team that's with every gender probably with Stephanie, stone cold and hhh and the injury gets taken advantage of and jeff just goes feral
-ANTITHESIS OF BEFORE
(part 3 to No Promises, Simply Threats (p.1) and Little Devil (p.2), can be read alone, might be a lil confusing)
After the constant drama the rest of the week, another match was due on Heat. This time, Lita had been taken out of the match, and substituted for Y/N for obvious dramatic effect reasons. For the first time in what seemed like a while, maybe even the first time ever, wwf fans were actually watching Heat, and it was simply for their match.
5 minutes, a staff member yelled from outside the teams locker room with a knock, catching only Matts attention. Jeff was cutting up a shirt from the merch table into whatever he pleased with no worries in the world, while Y/N paced the room stuck in though, worrying enough for the entire building.
“Five minutes, guys. Guys?” Matt repeated again, finally gaining Jeff's attention. Matt called for Y/N but received no show of hearing him until Jeff gave their bicep a tap. Matt repeated their remaining time once more and let Y/N go back to their pacing before Jeff interrupted them again.
“What’s goin’ on up there, hm?” He asked softly, pulling them in closer by their elbow.
“You know how I get, just nervous.” The reply was quick, a hand coming to rub at their lips hoping to find some sort of relief from the stress. Jeff pulled their hand away from the almost self-deprecating act considering how rough their hand was moving and threaded his own through it.
“Y/N, you’re never like this before a match, not ever this much. I can’t help you if you don’t let me, baby.” Embarrassed under this loving gaze and sweet words, they turned to gaze away from him and knowing their limits, Jeff let them.
“I just- it’s…I..everyones here for us. Everyones waiting for this match, we’re the main event of the night. You guys already made it all the way, I-I haven’t. This is my way in, and if I fuck this up, its over for me, everything I’ve been working for will be over if this doesn’t go perfect.” Y/N spoke fast, clearly still riddled with anxiety though what they spoke was true.
They had been working for the company for quite some time, but not as much as the Hardys or Lita and this whole situation against such huge people in the business truly was what was going to make them a superstar in the industry, not the weak storylines against other newer wrestlers or older ones fading out.
Jeff’s other hand moved to grasp at their elbow in an attempt to grab their attention and put their eyes back onto him, which was successful.
“I know this is big. But you always do great, always. The second you get out there all of that worry goes away, and I know it does, I see it happen every time- and you are perfect. The ring is where you’re supposed to be, and it's where you feel the best. No matter if the people like you or not, don’t let them take that away from you. Please, sweetheart.” His words brought clear solace, the weight on their shoulders drops along with a breath of air leaving their newly working lungs. Noticing they were still struggling Jeff brought them into his arms, Y/N’s nose nudging into his neck, eyes closing in comfort.
“C’mere, for a sec. Breathe, baby.” His hands moved to bring theirs to his side and after, he brought his own to rub up and down their back. A knock rang on the door, this time no words spoken, leaving them with the assumption that it was time. Y/N let out one last breath before leaving Jeff’s arms. Feet bouncing and hands wringing with suspence, the group made their way to the gorilla, and much like last time the others were already out. The arena was loud but louder when their music hit. Louder than when Triple H’s team had, louder as they danced around the ramp and sprayed water out of their mouth. And just had Jeff had predicted, Y/N was put back in the adrenaline rushed environment they thrive off of. The bell rung.
Matt and Stone Cold started first, still a little bit of anger left from the last time they were in the ring- or out, I guess- together. Stone Cold had a bit of an upper hand, but eventually with a tag to Jeff and a poetry in motion they were able to get control, but now Jeff was in. Stone Cold was quick to get a tag when the chance presented itself, slapping whoever was near him which happened to be Stephanie. The young girl gave a sly grin to the man on the floor and went to send a kick to him until Y/N reached through the ropes and slapped at Jeff’s chest quickly making their way into the ring. Stephanie’s smile quickly disappeared and she turned around, tagging her husband even quicker. The Hardy’s quickly shoved their hands through the ropes but Y/N refused to tag them in.
The atmosphere was tense as both superstars glared each other down as they circled the ring, the crowd eerily quiet as they waited in anticipation. The superstars locked arms, Triple H managing to get them under one of his arms before Y/N sent an elbow to his side, bringing them back into their earlier position. Hunter moved forward first again, bringing a punch to Y/N’s stomach causing them to stumble back and putting them into the perfect position to deliver a kick to the chin and letting them bring Hunter into a submission hold before he grabbed onto the rope, and jumped back up with the refs call. The cycle continued, until it didn’t.
Both moved forward, Y/N using their size in advantage compared to the huge man in front of them and slid between his legs quickly kicking at the back of his knees. The move didn’t seem to keep him down for long, but it unfortunately left Y/N on the mat. Noticing the disadvantage, Y/N scurried to make their way up but were too late- Triple H had grabbed their ankle and was twisting it, hard. Secluded in the middle of the ring, listening to the Hardy’s yell at the ref to do something while they tried not to scream at the pain. They tried to move closer to the rope, but it seemed they would never get there with the speed they were moving.
Crack
Y/N let out a yell of agony, their elbows giving out under them but still refused to tap out as black quickly invaded their vision. The bell rang as their unconsciousness quite obviously invaded them, the multiple refs that had made their way out finally pulling Triple H off of Y/N and letting the Hardy’s away from their corner as the EMT’s made their way to the ring.
Regaining consciousness rapidly from the EMT’s touches, Y/N was quick to call out for Jeff, using the last of their adrenaline left to push onto their elbows much to the EMT’s dislikement. They continued to call for Jeff but only his brother came to comfort them, softly pushing them to lay back down.
“Don’t worry about Jeff, N/N. He’s beating the shit out of Hunter so just lay down so we can get you out of here, alright?” Matt practically had to shout his words over the boisterous arena causing Y/N to finally give up on their mission in finding Jeff a grunt leaving their lips at the uncomfortable touches to their probably broken ankle.
One of the technicians tried to tell Y/N what was going on but were unable to keep their attention and instead told Matt as they hauled Y/N out of the ring, Matt refusing to leave their side and helping the other EMT by helping them limp up the ramp before Jeff noticed they were leaving and quickly took their other shoulder from the EMT.
Finally making their way over to where the other doctors were- specifically the ones that toured with WWF, not just the ones that they hired along the way for a day- Y/N sat down in one chair and placed their injured foot on another. Jeff stood next to them, breath heavy from his beating to Triple H finished simply seconds ago while Matt went to find Lita knowing she was definitely worrying somewhere and unable to find them in her panic.
“That didn’t go so good did it?” Y/N spoke with as much fake humor as they could find left in them, trying to bring down the awkwardness of the room. Jeff’s calming hand was quick to leave their shoulder and moved to the side of their head, bringing their face into the side of his lower stomach.
“Well, not for your ankle or that asshole, but from the way they were reactin’ the crowd loved you baby. They loved you.” A sigh of relief, truly more of a sob, left Y/N’s mouth, their nose shoving further into Jeff's hip at the realization, that finally, they had made it.
They had made it, and hadn’t even realized it all thanks to Hunter. Jeff’s hand, though knuckles seeped with blood, his or not, he truly couldn’t tell, still laid gently against the side of their head, his own breath becoming tight at the thought of such a moment being taken away from Y/N.
“We’re gonna get you all taken care of, and then I’m gonna go beat the hell out of that son of a bitch some more.” Jeff’s words were heated with an anger he had obviously been holding.
“I don’t have any objections. S’long as you make sure it's on camera I gotta see that.” Y/N’s words were still muffled into him, a hand that had long since rested on his other hip moving to push him closer, pressing a quick kiss into his stomach, his laughter making it much harder. But his laughter soon left as he remembered just what they were talking about.
“I promise, no matter how much it takes from me, how bad I get hurt, doesn’t matter, I’m gonna make him hurt, a lot more than how much he made you hurt.”
“Well who’s the devil now, hm?”

Paranormal Activity
Shinobu Kochou x They/Them Reader Modern AU
A/N: I just want more fics about ghost story loving Shinobu. This is not quite it, but an attempt was made. Also I just love me some grumpy Shinobu. It’s good for the soul. Also I pictured this taking place in an old American homestead so America is the setting for this one. Hope you like it! Word Count: 4,200
(Y/n) stared down at the yellowed pages of the dusty phone book. Their fingers lingered over the wording of the faded ad reading: ‘Kochou Sisters’ Paranormal Investigations Incorporated: Ghost in your wall? Give us a call!’.
“Am I really about to do this?” They mumbled between their fingers.
Then the lights flickered and the sound of heavy footsteps running across the attic above them made them reflexively press the call button on their phone. They groaned.
“Guess I’m doing this.” They brought the phone to their ear and after the fourth ring, a timid voice answered.
“Hhh… he, hello…”
“Um, hello?” (Y/n) felt like they could very well be communicating with a ghost right now. “I’m calling about a ghost problem…You still there?”
An almost frantic shuffling met (Y/n)’s ear and a new voice, cheerful, could be heard on the line.
“At least you tried, Kanao. Proud of you!” Then the voice became clearer, “Hello, thank you for calling Kochou Sisters’, this is Kanae Kochou speaking! How may I help you today?”
“Uh, hi,” (Y/n) rubbed at the back of their neck, “I think I’ve got a ghost in my house?”
“Well then you’ve certainly called the right place!” Kanae giggled, making (Y/n)’s cheeks prickle with warmth. “Your call couldn’t have come at a better time. My sister has been antsy and looking for something to do all day,” Kanae’s voice became muffled for a moment, “Don’t give me that look, Shinobu. You know how happy it makes me when I see you smile!” Then her voice came through clear again, “If you could give me your address, I could have her in your home just before dusk. Does that sound favorable?”
(Y/n) didn’t expect them to act so quickly, they hadn’t even talked about how much this would cost yet. But then the rocking chair in the corner began to rock and they decided the cost didn’t matter and they gave Kanae their address.
***
Sure enough, just as the sun was disappearing over the horizon, a clunky looking van louder than all hell came up to the curb and parked in front of their house. They watched from the porch as a short woman climbed out of the driver’s seat. She had purple highlights in the hair that framed her face and sunglasses that nearly covered half of her face, all (Y/n) saw was her nose and the frown that seemed stuck to her lips. She wore a rumpled oversized sweatshirt with the business’s logo on the back, black jeans tore at the knees and black sneakers.
She gave (Y/n) a slight nod of acknowledgment before heading to the back of the van and opening the double doors to dig inside. While (Y/n) was busy wondering if this woman should really be driving at sundown with sunglasses on, they were brought out of their thoughts when the van doors slammed shut and they watched the woman walk up the driveway with a bag slung over her shoulder.
“You (Y/n) (L/n)?” She asked abruptly, she seemed to be checking out the house but (Y/n) couldn’t quite tell with the sunglasses.
“Yeah—“
“Shinobu Kochou.” She introduced herself and briskly pushed passed (Y/n) and waltzed right into their house.
“Yeah, just come on in I guess…” (Y/n) muttered under their breath and followed after the woman.
“So you think you have a ghost, huh?” Shinobu asked gruffly, already making herself at home and spreading out her bag of supplies on the whole surface of (Y/n)’s kitchen table.
“Uh, yeah,” (Y/n) answered distractedly. All the random scraps of metal and flashing lights on their table looked like they could come together to assemble a bomb. “There’s sometimes footsteps that sound like they come from the attic—“
“Leave it to me. I’ve heard it all before.” Shinobu waved them off and finally took off her sunglasses and tossed them onto the table. “I’ll be setting up a basecamp here and then you will show me the most active locations so I can set up some cameras. Then you just gotta stay out of my way, understand?”
This was going swimmingly. (Y/n) definitely wasn’t having any regrets. They did notice however, that Shinobu’s eye were quite a dazzling shade of purple and it was harder to look away than it should have been. They gave Shinobu a tour, trying not to get offended by the way her nose would wrinkle at certain aspect of their home. It was a work in progress! They pointed out possible points of interest and then when Shinobu was done setting up the cameras, they headed back to the kitchen and Shinobu made sure the monitor was displaying each camera feed correctly.
The silence was killing (Y/n) and they were dying to busy themself somehow. So as Shinobu was clacking at the keyboard and messing with her pile of junk, they bit the bullet.
“…Would you like anything to drink? Hungry at all?”
Shinobu paused her work to give (Y/n) an almost suspicious look before shrugging g her shoulders and turning back to the screen.
“Just tea would be fine. Nothing that’ll make me tired though. Thanks.”
Huh, guess she did have some manners.
(Y/n) went to the sink and began the process, clinks and the rush of running water joining the tinkering sounds going on at the kitchen table. When the tea was done, (Y/n) carefully set a cup beside Shinobu before taking a seat on the vacant stool beside her.
Shinobu grabbed the cup without looking away from her screens and took a sip.
“‘S good.” She complimented with a barely audible mumble, not even giving (Y/n) a glance while she took another sip.
“Thank you.” (Y/n) cleared their throat, “So… how does this all work exactly?” Or how long, rather. (Y/n) didn’t know how if they could handle entertaining a stranger in their house all night.
Shinobu swallowed another mouthful of tea before setting it aside, “It’s pretty self explanatory. I’ve got these camera feeds that I can change to infrared, static, night vision and so on. When it gets a little later, midnight or so, I’ll begin a more direct approach. Try to communicate, get EVPs and so on.“ she gave them a sidelong glance, hiding her mouth behind interlaced fingers propped up by her elbows resting against the table. “You can turn in. It’ll be a long night. Just set an alarm for five so we can go over some stuff before I leave.”
“Oh, that’s fine. I’ve got nowhere to be tomorrow.” Luckily. It wasn’t that (Y/n) didn’t trust Shinobu, but… okay, they didn’t trust her. This was all insane and they wanted to be there every step of the way to make sure no funny business occurred.
“Suit yourself.” Shinobu shrugged, eyes not leaving the monitor. After a few minutes, she leaned back in her chair and sighed, “Well, if you’re going to be hanging around, the least we could do is fill the awkward silence with some small talk. What do you know of the house’s history?”
“Um…” (Y/n) fumbled a bit being put on the spot, “I don’t know a lot. I inherited it from my grandparents. I think my grandfather once told me that his mom grew up in this house so it’s been in the family for awhile.”
“I could tell,” Shinobu’s nose wrinkled, “you really need to hire an interior decorator or something. Find a way to get rid of the smell of old people at the very least.”
“Hey!” (Y/n) gawked, moderately offended, “Listen, I’ve only owned the house for like, a month tops. It’s a lot of work for one person to finance. I only just got the ventilation system cleaned and an air conditioner installed and now I have to pray I don’t end up in the hospital! That’s how much it cost!”
Shinobu finally turned away from the monitor to look at (Y/n), but it didn’t last because she buried her face in her arms, her shoulder shaking with barely audible laughter.
“Yeah, yeah, laugh it up! I’m nearly broke! Yes, it’s so funny!” (Y/n) smiled despite themself. Shinobu had kind of gotten on their nerves from the moment she drove up in that shitty van, but they couldn’t help but like her, just a little bit.
Shinobu came back up for air, her face slightly flushed from laughing, and gave (Y/n) a slightly mocking pat on the back.
“And yet you decided you were going to hire a ghost service, maybe you should leave the financing to someone more responsible and practical.” She said, clicking her tongue disapprovingly.
“It was partially an accident. The footsteps in the attic startled me and I hit the call button.” They explained defensively.
“You could have just hung up. Happens often enough. As long as you weren’t going to be a smart ass, we weren’t going to have any problems.”
“And what would that consist of?”
“Usually pretending to be a ghost, shaming us for scamming people, asking if our refrigerator is running… annoying things you know,” she propped her head up in her hand a wicked, yet mirthful look upon her face, “then I would have come here to mess with you somehow. Highlight of my week is driving around town with a fresh address courtesy of a caller ID name.”
(Y/n) wasn’t about to ask what kind of fate awaited those who chose to annoy Shinobu for fear of being seen as complicit in the eyes of the law, but they were kind of interested in how she got into this line of work in the first place.
“What made you go into the ghost business anyway?”
“We had a few intense experiences when we were younger, my sisters and I.” Shinobu explained after mulling it over for a bit. “We promised each other that we’d help people who found themselves in the same situation we did.”
(Y/n) wished to know more about what exactly these experiences entailed, but they had a feeling Shinobu didn’t want to talk about it if the crease in her forehead was anything to go by.
“I can say I appreciate it at least. Thanks for coming.” They decided to say before standing up. “More tea?”
“Sure, thanks.” Shinobu pushed the cup towards (Y/n) as they were coming to grab it and their fingers brushed. Shinobu took her hand back right away and busied herself with her tech.
When (Y/n) refilled Shinobu’s cup, Shinobu taught them about the array of equipment she brought and let them try a few things out.
“What’s this?” They asked, holding out an item to Shinobu to appraise.
“EMF. Detects electrical charges. Might not be very reliant here. Based on the outside of your house, I was surprised you even have electricity. Might explain your flashing lights though.”
“Insult my house one more time, see what happens!”
“You’re right, I’m sorry. Who wouldn’t love to have baby barf green-brown checkered wallpaper?” Shinobu smirked.
Okay, yeah, the house still needed a lot of work, but still! These insults would not stand!
“At least my house isn’t a screeching metal death trap that can give you tetanus by simply looking at it.” They fired back.
Shinobu gasped, “You take that back!”
“Never.”
They continued to talk shit about each other’s house and van respectively well into the night. Sometime just before midnight, Shinobu caught a movement in the corner of her eye and turned back to the monitor in a flash.
“Shut up, did you see that?”
(Y/n) was too surprised at the sudden outburst to be sarcastic or snarky and simply shook their head no. They got closer to Shinobu to look at the camera feed from the attic she was pointing to, trying to catch what she might have seen.
“Damn, I’ll make a note to check the recordings around this time. That’ll have to wait until morning. Now is a good time to try communicating.” Shinobu grabbed a couple of things from the table, stuffing some items in her hoodie pouch and shoving something into (Y/n)’s hands. Then she rocketed towards the stairs. “Come on, come on. I thought you were going to help me here.” Shinobu rolled her wrist rapidly in a, ‘get the hell over here’, motion.
They didn’t remember saying that necessarily, but if they backed out now they would look like a coward and Shinobu would surely have no problem tearing them apart with her words. They sucked it up and followed Shinobu up the creaky stairs to the second floor where the stairs to the attic were already unfurled and the black abyss in the ceiling looked all the more menacing with the dim light of Shinobu’s flashlight being the only light source. (Y/n) wanted desperately to go back to the warm glow of the kitchen. The kitchen was safe… except on the occasion that the cupboards would all suddenly open. How they made it this long before calling, they still didn’t know.
They followed Shinobu up the rickety ladder and immediately felt the same sense of dread they felt when they had first gone up there weeks ago.
“It’s chilly,” Shinobu observed quietly, “how’s the insulation up here?”
“I’m unsure… this is only the second time I’ve fully gone up here.”
(Y/n) fully expected Shinobu to start making fun of them for being afraid of the attic, but she remained serious and almost seemed to soften a bit.
“Did something happen?” She asked.
(Y/n) swallowed before answering, their throat suddenly felt dry. “I had gone up not too long after I moved in. I wanted to see if there was anything worth selling to fix up the house. I had felt a sense of dread the whole time I was looking around. I heard.. no, never mind.” They backed out.
“No, tell me. What kind of entity did you feel? What did you hear?” Shinobu encouraged, not a note of incredulousness in her tone. Just pure interest and possibly even concern. It encouraged (Y/n) to continue.
“I thought I heard someone whisper, a harsh whisper, a command to get out—!“
(Y/n) stumbled back as a heavy, thudding round of knocks reverberated off the peeling wallpaper, Shinobu caught them by the arm before they could go too far and fall down the hole back to the second floor.
“You okay?” Shinobu asked worriedly. Not even waiting for an answer, she turned back towards the vast darkness of the room, an angry scowl upon her lips, “Playing dirty, huh? If you want to come after someone it’s gonna be me.”
The room was silent and Shinobu waited a few beats before cursing quietly and turning back to (Y/n) with her hand held out. (Y/n) understood what she wanted, and gave her the odd radio she had pushed at them before.
“Spirit box,” she explained, “I’m going to see if it’ll talk to us.”
(Y/n) decidedly hated the spirit box. It was the loudest thing ever. Second only to Shinobu’s van. They didn’t understand how Shinobu would be able to pick out anything from it with the constant stream of loud nonsense.
“Who’s here?” Shinobu demanded, scanning the room.
No reply as far as (Y/n) could tell.
“What do you want?” Shinobu tried again.
“CHCHYOUCHCHCH GET CHCHCH OUT CH NOWCHCH!”
“The only one who’s getting out of here is you!”
(Y/n) watched Shinobu yell out to the room in quiet disbelief, unsure of what exactly they should be doing right now. Whatever the case, Shinobu seemed to be doing quite well on her own. Eventually, she shoved a smoking bundle of plants in (Y/n)’s face.
“Sage. Help me clear the room. Spirits can’t stand this stuff.” She informed, quickly lighting another bushel.
They walked in opposite directions, saging the corners and working their way inward. The constant grating noise of the spirit box and loud thumping footsteps that were not (Y/n)’s, nor Shinobu’s made for quite the unsettling combination.
“Ah!” (Y/n) hissed, feeling at their back with the back of their hand.
“What? What happened?” Shinobu hissed not out of anger, but surprise and worry.
“My back feels like it’s burning. Wha— hey!”
Shinobu pulled up the back of their shirt, flashlight clenched in her teeth, she grunted unhappily before letting (Y/n)’s shirt fall down and putting the flashlight back in her pocket so she could talk.
“You’ve been scratched. This spirit is more malicious than I gave it credit for. I need to call for back up. Let’s go.” Shinobu silenced the spirit box, snuffed out the sage and took (Y/n)’s hand, guiding them back to the ladder.
They regrouped in the kitchen where Shinobu immediately grabbed her phone and pressed Kanae’s contact. (Y/n) gingerly sat down and rested their head against the table to try to recover from the chill of the attic and the dull burning on their back.
“Of course it’s me. Who else would it be?” Shinobu grumbled over the phone, “I need you and Kanao to come to the house. The spirit is violent. Yeah, scratched the client right in front of me. We saged but it’ll only keep it at bay for so long so hurry up, it’s pissed.” She hung up and tossed the phone onto the table with a grunt and sat hard in the chair beside (Y/n).
“Here, turn a bit. I want to get a better look at your back.”
(Y/n), too tired to argue, swiveled in their chair and rested their head in their hands while Shinobu went to work.
“Yeah, can’t imagine that feels great.” She sympathized while she gently prodded the scratches.
“What’s it look like?” (Y/n) heard some rustling and suddenly found themself with Shinobu’s phone in their hand, displaying a picture of their back with three distinct lines running parallel from each other across half of the expanse of their back. “Jeez.” They blew out a big breath and handed the phone back.
“I’ll clean and patch it up.”
“Thank you.”
Shinobu worked fast, yet gentle. She finished in a couple of minutes and let (Y/n) know she was done so they could turn back towards the table.
“How have you gone this long living with a ghost like that?” Shinobu asked, putting her travel med kit back together.
“I guess I didn’t piss it off too badly until tonight. Ugh, what am I gonna do?” They groaned burying their face in their arms.
“Hey, I’m not going anywhere until that bastard is gone, okay?” Shinobu assured. “Once my sisters get here, it’ll be begging for mercy.”
(Y/n) laughed quietly at that, earning a small smile from Shinobu before she turn her attention back to the monitor. Together they watched the feeds until (Y/n) shut their eyes to rest them for a bit, just for a little while… Shinobu stiffened when (Y/n)’s head hit her shoulder but not for long. She let them rest there until her phone lit up with a text. Kanae was here.
***
(Y/n) awoke with a quiet groan as light hit their face. They slowly sat up, their back and neck protesting after being hunched over a table for the better part of the night. Something slid down their shoulders as they moved and they caught it in their hands. It was a throw blanket from the living room. (Y/n) didn’t remember grabbing that.
“Oh good, you’re awake! Hello~!”
(Y/n)’s head tilted up, finding a cheerful looking woman with long, black hair standing in the doorway between the living room and the kitchen.
“Hi…” (Y/n) yawned and then finally realized they had a stranger in their house. “Uh, who are you?”
“Kanae Kochou, Shinobu’s older sister,” she glided into the kitchen and seamlessly slid into the chair across from (Y/n), “That spirit in the attic was tough. You did the right thing calling us in. I sense others still, in the cellar in particular, but we didn’t want to carry out a plan without your approval.”
“Um…”
“Kanae, they just woke up, let them breathe. That ghost probably sapped their energy.” Shinobu came in with Kanao on her heels, both carrying tripods that they had gathered from around the house.
“Oh, right! You had been attacked. How does your back feel?” Kanae asked, leaning over the table with clear interest on her face.
“It’s fine. I can hardly feel the scratches. Probably shouldn’t have slept like this though.”
“Shinobu can fix you right up! She’s studying to become a doctor you know. She is so smart and capable.”
“Kanae!” Shinobu huffed, blushing, “Are you gonna help pack up or what? I’d like to go to bed!”
“Okay, okay, here, give me that and you can take care of our darling client and the final transactions. Come along Kanao, let’s pack in the cameras.” The pair left through the front door with hands full of equipment.
Shinobu sat in the chair her sister had previously occupied with a long sigh, tiredly rubbing at her eyes.
“I can’t believe I fell asleep.” Was the first thing (Y/n) thought to say, “Why didn’t you wake me up?”
“I thought it might have been caused by the ghost sapping up your energy. I thought it would be better for you to try to regain your strength, besides you looked…,” Shinobu cleared her throat and looked elsewhere in the room, waving a hand flippantly, “you looked tired.” She finished, a faint blush staining her cheeks.
“Ah.” (Y/n) nodded, shifting in their own seat. “So… final transactions then?”
“Yeah, here.”
Shinobu, happy for a subject change, pushed a paper in (Y/n)’s direction. They held their breath as they scanned for the total and they were surprised by the amount that was listed.
“Is this it? Seems pretty cheap for all the trouble you went through last night.”
“What, want me to charge you more?” Shinobu snipped defensively.
“No!” (Y/n) floundered, “I just thought… thank you, for everything!”
“Whatever.” Shinobu shrugged, the blush gaining a bit more of a reddish hue. “You heard what my sister said, there are still more ghosts that could need to be taken care of. It’s not like I work miracles or anything.”
“Well… I would be happy to work with you again. It’s certainly cheaper to get rid of ghosts than removing the wallpaper and repainting will be.” They smiled, playing with the edge of their blanket.
“Really? You’d let us finish the job? When?” Shinobu perked up considerably. She never liked to leave unfinished business behind.
“Whenever works for you I guess. I’m not picky.”
“Tonight then!” Shinobu nodded resolutely and asked (Y/n) to excuse her for a moment as she ran out of the house shouting at her sisters to stop packing up. When she came back, (Y/n) followed her into the living room.
“Are you sure you want to work another night so soon? You must be feeling exhausted.”
“Maybe a little,” Shinobu rubbed at the back of her neck. She didn’t want to go all the way home though. That’s when the couch caught her eye. “Hey, can I crash on your couch for the day?” She asked before she could actually think about it for more than half a second. Her face heated up and before she could take it back somehow, (Y/n) answered.
“Sure, if you really want to. Knock yourself out, here.” They took the blanket that was still draped around their shoulders and handed it to Shinobu. “It’s the least haunted thing here. One of the first things I bought because the old one had stains and an imprint that looked like a human on it.” They shivered. “You know, this whole experience is really making me wonder if my grandparents woke up and decided to commit violence against me in their will on purpose.”
“Certainly looks that way.” Shinobu chuckled quietly, kneading the blanket in her hands.
“Shinobu? Oh, there you are. Are you ready to go home…?” Kanae seemed to connect the dots quickly, and despite Shinobu giving her a signature, ‘keep your mouth shut’ glare, she decided to tease a bit anyway. “Oh, I see! A sleepover. What unusual behavior for you, Shinobu. What could have brought this on I wonder?”
“I think she’s just excited about the ghosts.” (Y/n) butted in, unintentionally saving Shinobu from her sister’s teasing.
“Hmm, yes, I wonder if that’s all she’s excited about.” Kanae tapped at her chin thoughtfully before turning on her heel. “Kanao and I will be back at dusk. Rest well!”
“Thank you for your hard work.” (Y/n) called after her, turning back in time to see Shinobu become a small, curled up lump under the blanket on the couch. “Are you okay under there?”
“Why wouldn’t I be? Just trying to sleep.” Shinobu grumbled from beneath the blanket.
“Alright, help yourself to whatever. If you need me, I’ll be in my bedroom. I’m still pretty tired myself.
Shinobu gave a quiet grunt of acknowledgment and (Y/n) went on their way, unaware of just how severely Shinobu was blushing beneath the covers.
Even after the other ghosts were taken care of, Shinobu found ways to stick around. Someone had to get rid of the god awful wallpaper after all.

By the way, your friend asking you out must be a difficult situation to be in as I’ve also had a my male friends crushing on me.And it gets SO DAMN awkward to just act dumb and unaware of their feelings. And mine don’t even try to be subtle. They’re always just so transparent about their feelings.
ahhh good luck with your exams, ash, you'll nail themm. glad you've been okay, too. definitely taking all the time i need, but i'm also very excited for what's to come soon 🤍
and i knowwww. i think i felt so odd about it bc i really like that guy as a friend? he literally has the same mindset and hobbies as me and we vibed a lot, so it was kinda... hhh to me to know he'd wanna date while i was looking forward to becoming his bestie LMAO like, a sole, purely platonic friendship between girls and boys just can't exist anymore it seems rip. but yeah, it happens :') !!

Going through the 5 stages of grief in a matter of 2 days: a ramble of epic depressive proportions
So my cat is.. dying.
My kitty cat is 16 years old since this summer, she’s been my bestest, longest lasting friend since I was 10 years old. Cats are better than humans: they’re very clear about their boundaries and love you unconditionally. They don’t care about your gender, your weird hobbies or the fact that you’re not good at social interactions. No, I will not take criticism.
my cat, like most cats, is the best cat in the world. She cuddles me when I’m sad, she follows me to the bathroom and watches me do my business, and then expects me to follow her to her litter box. It’s the best kind of friendship. She gets up in my face and purrs, loud. She likes sitting with me more than anybody else and yes, that makes me feel superior, thank you. Again, i will not take criticism, fuck off, dad.
she’s a lil’ old lady and has been surprisingly healthy and spry for her age. She still caught me birds now and then and left them on my windowsill proudly. I love her. So fucking much. I love her with my entire being. But at her age, the inevitable of course was imminent.
a few months ago, she had her first stroke. I had had an awful day when i got home, and I immediately noticed something was wrong. Usually when i arrive home by car, she’ll be waiting for me outside and come running towards me, meowing to open the door so she can get to her food. She recognised the car i drove, she recognised me. I love her. But this time, she came over very slowly and with measured steps, her hind legs seemed to not be following the way they should. So i get her inside and i call an emergency vet because it’s a saturday evening. She walks around as of drunk and her eyes can’t focus. By the time we get to the vet with her, she’s almost completely back to normal, just tired. The vet does some tests but he’s fairly certain she had a stroke caused by either internal bleeding or an attack. At her age, that’s not abnormal and all her other vitals are extremely healthy for an old kitty. He tells me there’s not much they can do except expect that it will happen again (now that she’s had one, the chances of another stroke are higher), hope the damage to her brain isn’t too bad and that she’ll recover. And with that, we’re sent home.
I don’t leave her side for 3 days, I’m so scared it will immediately happen again and this time i won’t be there to help her in time. After a few weeks, i lose my paranoia and lives goes on.
2 days ago, she had another stroke. Same symptoms: walks around as if she has no sense of balance, eyes can’t focus and keep darting around, loss of appetite and refuses to drink. She’s alert, though, and cuddles me when i give her scritches, does her business when i walk her towards the kitty litter, meows when she gets touched where she doesn’t want to be touched. She’s more lacklustre, though, and i can tell she’s either tired or in pain, or both. When my family gets too loud, she hides where she can, even though she can’t jump and it’s not safe for her to go up and down the stairs.
mom and I are gonna take her to the vet tomorrow, to see if there’s anything they can do, but I fear it’s gonna be bad news…
I’ve already been told there’s nothing that can be done against strokes and the after-effects of them so if she’s not recovering from an obvious brain injury, what can they possibly do to fix it except operate on her? Maybe if it’s a tumour, they can take it out and that way the damage can be fixed?
i dunno…
i think the vet is gonna see her symptoms, hear how old she is, and call it. Which….. hhh, is fair. And it’s all I’ve been thinking about.
because on one hand, it does feel like releasing her from suffering. She can’t walk properly, she’s tired and she can’t keep herself straight enough to eat, or drink, or walk without getting help. That’s no life for a cat who’s used to getting literally everywhere. Keeping her like this would be cruel.
on the other hand, it doesn’t at all feel like that, and more like I’m sending her to an execution. I keep thinking about having to force her in a carrier to go to the vet, having her be stressed and scared, to then hear they’re gonna put her down. It’s gonna be traumatising, both for my cat and me. The thought of having her in my arms and feeling her slip away, in a stale veterinarian room, makes me want to die. But sending her off to the vet with my mom and not being there for my cat in her final moments, also sounds awful. The fact that i know the date of my cat’s death is awful and males me wanna rip my hair out. I give her scritches and she looks up at me like I’m the safest place in the world, and she has no idea and she won’t understand what I’ll be doing to her-! I hate it, I hate this so much and I love her and I don’t want her to die. But i also don’t want her in pain. What has to be done, has to be done, but it’s going to be the worst few hours of my entire life.
words cannot possibly describe how much this cat means to me. it feels like I’m losing a limb. She’s such an intricate part of my life, of who i am. She’s been there more than my family has been, longer than my friends. She’s completely uncaring towards everything i hate about myself, and loves me because I’m warm and comfortable and know where to give her the best scritches and because she knows i love her too. How am i ever gonna refill the huge crater she’s gonna leave in me? How am i supposed to go to work the next day and perform at my best?
I hope, to whatever deity there may be out there, that the vet will know how to fix this, or will see signs that she’s recovering that i missed, and that all my worrying and my crying and my not sleeping has been for nothing. If not, let this be an ode to the best kitty in the world, who I love the most in the world.
