Nightmares Story
Ruben knew everybody had nightmares, that there were things they didn’t want to tell others about because of how dark they truly were. But he didn’t think nightmares were as dangerous for others as they were for him. He was pretty sure his nightmares came true; that things he’d seen in those dreams occasionally came to haunt him in the waking world. Not that anybody believed him. At least, not until his guardian sees proof, and they find themselves face-to-face with an irritated young woman claiming to be there to help him with his problem.
Hunting nightmares wasn’t an easy job, and despite all her complaints, Jaqui didn’t actually hate it. She didn’t hate that she had to work with the personification of sunshine, or that danger lurked around every corner when they got a call in. Jaqui merely said she hated everything as a defence mechanism. However, when she finds herself following the nightmares of a young man that seem more intense than any others, she can’t help but wonder if perhaps she didn’t need to find a better defence for herself in the future.

Nightmares Story Relationships
Ruben is the person Jaqui has to look after, and while she may claim she finds him little more than an irritant, she actually cares about the young man. His nightmares are some of the worst she’s dealt with, and there’s something there that concerns her more than she lets on. Especially to him.
Ruben and Obi get on reasonably well, not that they spend all that much time together. Obi is only helping because things are looking more complex than they first thought, and his assistance is needed. He wants to help the young man, not just because it’s his job, but because he’s a good person and can see the toll it’s having on Jaqui.
Ruben and Min Jee met when he was coming to see her mother for a meeting about his dreams when he was six years old. Since then, the two of them have only grown closer, though neither of them is quite brave enough yet to admit that they think they may have fallen for the other. They spend a lot of time together when they can, even if life seems to take them in different directions.
Wakumi loves her eldest child, Chan-yeol, but there are times where his need to be correct irritate her. The fact he wants to get involved with her line of work is something she never tried to deter him from, but as her work gains more traction, she finally decides it’s time to put him on his own path. She doesn’t need the distraction of him trying to help when her current project is in such a delicate state of being.
Wakumi is a scientist working with Ruben to try and understand the changes in his nightmares, to protect him from how bad things might possibly get if they can’t stop his nightmares from manifesting quite so violently. That being said, on more than one occasion they have butted heads about the method of doing this. Especially when his paranoia grows about things, and she tries to reassure him that it’s nowhere near as bad as she knows it is, simply to calm him down.
Wakumi and Jaqui don’t see eye-to-eye on pretty much anything, and they don’t really cross paths until quite late in the day. That being said, when it looks like Wakumi’s efforts are in vain to help Ruben, Jaqui takes it upon herself to try giving the woman some sort of reassurance, realising that she actually cares about the young man, despite how cold she can be on occasion to him.
