Round 1B: Hart of Dixie vs The Tomorrow People

Hart of Dixie: New York doctor Zoe Hart has reached a crossroads in her life when she decides to accept an offer from a stranger to work with him at his practice in Alabama. When she arrives in town, she discovers that the man has died and left her his half of the practice in his will, something that doesn't exactly make her new partner happy. In desperation, he listens to one of the voices and is led to a group of genetically advanced teens known as the tomorrow people, who are being hunted down by Ultra, a paramilitary group of scientists headed by Dr. Jedikiah Price. Torn by an offer from Price -- having a normal life among people he belongs, but in exchange for helping rid the world of tomorrow people -- Stephen chooses the higher road despite its probable surprises.

SNAPSHOT CHARACTER DETAILS.

CW: implications of child abuse, gaslighting & medical torture, murder/death, mental illness - (dissociation, PTSD)  

Killian McCrane.               “That is no way to start a reunion.                           Maybe I just wanted to see you.”

Abused consistently by his father, young Killian McCrane was an easy target for ULTRA and taken in by Jedikiah Price a short time after he “broke out”. Molded into a loyal albeit childishly rebellious soldier, Killian helped train and welcome John Young into ULTRA. Despite Killian’s callous nature, the two developed a strong bond of friendship and rivalry, a bond Jedikiah used to lure Killian into the Anax Project. 

In the eyes of ULTRA, Killian survived the drug therapy and successfully developed the ability to kill. But the damage done to his brain, was catastrophic for Killian’s already temperamental mental state. Killian developed a dissociative disorder soon after the success of Anax and taking on his newfound role as ULTRA’s “executioner”. For all intents and purposes, Killian McCrane believes he died after going through Anax - after killing a man for the first time. His life, his entire world, became a psychological battle for control of his own body and mind. And inevitably, the Killer won. On a routine mission he went AWOL, killing several people without reason or consideration for sides. Everyone was his enemy. And then he escaped ULTRA, leaving a path of destruction in his wake, lashing out at humankind and all their precious THINGS. John Young was tasked to bring him in, but failed to do so before abandoning ULTRA himself. 

Meanwhile, Killian struggled to wake up from his nightmare, to regain control. He was successful after a time, disappearing off the grid entirely, starting another life. A mysterious message enticed him to search out John Young and what began as a friend searching for another friend woke up feelings of regret and betrayal - feelings that only pulled his psychological battle back to the surface. But Killian maintained some control this time. He allowed the destruction but he did it without intentional casualties. He attacked ULTRA for information and with it, he lured John out. But the two could not see eye to eye. The Killer would not be silenced. The near-deadly confrontation between the two of them ended with Killian discovering that John too was subjected to the Anax Project, despite Killian’s attempt to protect him from it. Buried in a shallow grave, Killian managed to teleport to safety, barely. 

    Killian lost the battle with John, but he won the war against his psyche yet again. For now, he finally has complete control & with a brand new approach to life, Killian is attempting to recover and regain the parts of him that Anax killed.
