Covid-Karma strikes again.
Mask-hating and vaccine-resistant Republican politicians keep coming down with COVID-19.
First there’s Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas who is competing with Florida’s Ron DeSantis for the title of America’s Most Virus-Friendly Governor.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has banned mask requirements at schools despite opposition from several school districts, has contracted the coronavirus.

Abbott's stance regarding virus mitigation measures has drawn the ire of parent and activist groups, and one of the latter, Marked by COVID, released a statement Tuesday that said:
"Our Governor has been working to keep masks out of schools harder than he has worked to keep guns out of schools. In his relentless and cruel pursuit of controlling mandates in the name of bodily autonomy he himself contracted COVID and is using every resource available to HIM, but refuses to allow local governments to use their own resources to help save lives.''
And then there’s Keith Kidwell, a member of the North Carolina legislature. Kidwell didn’t just get COVID, he passed it on to his wife.
As COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to spike at CarolinaEast, the Craven County GOP called for a prayer vigil last week for hospital staff, patients, and an anti-mask state representative, who were hospitalized on Friday.

Kidwell called vaccine campaigns “manipulation"
Kidwell and his wife, Viki, were both hospitalized last week at Vidant Beaufort Hospital after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
Kidwell serves Craven and Beaufort counties in District 79 in the state House of Representatives. He was hospitalized last Friday after posting on Facebook earlier in the week that his wife was sick.

Kidwell has been a vocal opponent of wearing masks during the pandemic. During a 2020 House floor debate he announced he would not wear a mask, despite recommendations from Gov. Roy Cooper and state health officials.
Kidwell has also questioned COVID-19 vaccines. He is the chief sponsor of House Bill 572, which would prohibit Cooper from issuing an executive order to require vaccination. The bill passed the NC House in May but is currently stalled in the Senate. He also sponsored a bill that would bar state agencies from requiring the shots for licensing purposes.
Such anti-science GOP idiocy is not limited to the South. In Wisconsin, State Sen. André Jacque has been stricken with the virus.
The positive test and hospital care came after Jacque testified on Wednesday in a packed Capitol hearing room without wearing a mask.
The lawmaker from De Pere did not immediately return a text message Tuesday seeking comment on his condition. His spokesman, Matt Tompach, provided a statement from Jacque dated Monday night and said Tuesday afternoon that he had no update on his condition.

Jacque has been outspoken against COVID-19 vaccine mandates, including sponsoring bills that would prevent government officials or business owners from requiring proof of vaccination. He, like other Republicans, opposed the statewide mask mandate that the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down in March.

An anti-vaccine Tennessee pastor has died following a short battle with COVID-19.
Bible prophecy teacher Jimmy DeYoung Sr. was hospitalized Aug. 7, less than a week after preaching his last sermon at Harrison's Church of the Highlands, and died Sunday of complications from the coronavirus, reported The Chattanoogan.

DeYoung hosted the daily "Prophecy Today" radio program syndicated on hundreds of stations since 1968, and before his own fatal infection spread misinformation discouraging his followers from getting vaccinated -- although he did assure them that the shots were most likely not the biblical mark of the beast.
Rev. DeYoung must have been a false prophet if he couldn’t prophesize that not wearing masks and not getting vaccinated would make it more likely that you would get COVID.
Republicans worry about the so-called “replacement theory”. If they keep spreading disinformation which kills off large numbers of their followers then the replacements will have a hard time keeping up.

China and Russia have a plan to defeat the United States

JD: China is indeed in this world today a very major power but in Bible prophecy they will be the major power in the last maybe six months of the seven year Tribulation period. The Chinese are now watching the western Russian competition. Are they going to watch Russia and the United States tare each other up and then come to power?
KT: You know this is the old great power gain. We have been playing it for the past two generations with the Russians and the Chinese pinning one against the other. The Chinese are doing exactly the same thing. When they were in competition with Russia in the 60s and the 70s they needed the United States on their side to pin down the Soviet Union. Now that that conflict is over they are using Russia to pin us down. So yes they are watching what Russia is doing. They are trying to take advantage of Russia's weaknesses in Eurasia, their weaknesses in the caucuses in places like the Republic of Georgia. They are expanding their belt in road initiative to gain access to Western Europe and the Russian's are letting them do this.
There's no longer an open competition between Russia and China. There is a pretty much of a cooperation between the two. But there's no doubt in my mind that China is the ascendent power and Russia is on the decline. Russia is going along with this creeping Chinese expansionism because it is to their financial benefit and temporarily at least to their political benefit against the west. China offers them an out, an escape valve from western sanctions and that is critical to keeping the Russian economy alive.

At one time in the past China was using the United States to help Beijing to get the advantage over Russia. Now China and Russia are partners in their efforts to bring down America. This present scenario is actually a page out of the prophetic passages of the Bible. Both Russia and China will play a key role in the events of the Tribulation period, that seven year period of time between the Rapture and the return of Jesus Christ.
Russia is a leader of an alignment of nations to destroy Israel in the first half of the Tribulation period, that's Ezekiel 38. China will be the leader of the nations at the end of the Tribulation period, that's Revelation 16:12. The United States by the way is not mentioned in Bible prophecy for the last days. The stage is indeed set for these prophecies to be fulfilled.

JD: Overall what was your impression of this State of the Union address by the President?
SR: Well Jimmy I've watched a lot of State of the Union addresses. My personal sense was I believed that this was a real master piece of a presentation from a number of prospectives. The President was able to literally get every issue of important policy established within this address. But as far as I'm concerned as well to Christian people in America Jimmy I think that one of the things that the President did he built within this program multiple references to God, to the grace of God and his support not only for the sacredness of life which is in response to a gift from God as he stated. But he said this, he said my administration is also defending religious liberty and that includes the Constitutional right to pray in public schools which he did announce. In America we celebrate faith, we cherish religion, we lift up our voices and we raise our sights to the glory of God.
JD: Just a quick thought Sam. We don't want to be linger this at all but what do you think about Nancy Pelosi's show of distaste or hatred actually for the President as she tore up the manuscript.
SR: Other than the fact that a Speaker of the House which shows such a disdain for the honor of the House she took and basically by tearing that up she dishonored every person and every issue that the President highlighted in that address and it was done on national tv. 34 million people estimated were watching that. I think what she did was she perhaps drove a stake into her position as Speaker of the House.
JD: Sam Rohrer who is the voice of the Stand in the Gap Radio and Television program and also the president of the American Pastors Network with his evaluation of the State of the Union address by President Trump.

In the State of the Union address President Trump touched on all of his domestic policy which included the rights for the Christian community and the rights of the unborn as well. This State of the Union address is called for by the United States Constitution. This nation, a representative republic was derived by the Pilgrims in 1620. They put together a method of human government which was called for by the Bible, Genesis 9:6 and Revelation 17:17. This is how the Lord directs human kind in the way he wants them to go. Romans 13:1 & 5 sets the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Vladimir Putin is set to lead Russia politically for the rest of his life and is warning at the same time of a catastrophic Middle Eastern war in the near future

JD: The Russian Prime Minister resigned, the rest of the government resigned after Vladimir Putin announced a change that would keep him in power a lot longer than it seems like he should be according to the restrictions of times in office there in Russia. What is going on?
KT: Well Putin's term in office as President expires in 2024 and he is term limited under the Constitution. So just as he did during an earlier iteration of his lifetime in power in 2008 he's trying to switch seats with Medvedev the current Prime Minister. Putin is just doing what Putin does. And as of right now there's not an awful lot of forces we see in Russia to oppose it. Medvedev resigned so he could be reappointed in a caretaker government. Putin will switch around the constitution to create a powerful Prime Minister's job. So all of it is a kind of predictable Vladimir Putin President for life operation.
JD: He is warning now a full scale war in the Middle East will be a catastrophe. Boy that sounds like Ezekiel 38. I mean is that a premonition that he is going to be the leader of this Islamic coalition that tries to wipe Israel off the face of the earth?
KT: Well it's interesting that Putin should say this. You wonder whether this is a honest warning of real threats in the region or as you say is it a cynical warning of something that he himself has in mind. The Russians are getting increasingly involved all across the Middle East not just in Syria, not just as a strategic ally of Iran but as we just mentioned here they're getting involved with Libya as well. Russia is involved now in the Middle East in a far deeper way than we've seen them really since the early 1980s. What are their real intentions? We don't know at this point.

In that passage Gog the leader will lead an Islamic alignment of nations to destroy the Jewish state of Israel, that's Ezekiel 38:2. Gog is the person, Magog the place which is Russia today. God's prophetic scenario is at the point of fulfillment according to Putin and prophecy.

We can understand what God's plan for the future is going to be

JD: David you know one of the tougher things by doing the first broadcast of the year is trying to look ahead. And out of all of the many stories that we could follow and figure out which one we think will become the biggest and most important news that will be made in this coming year.
DJ: You know as I thought about this Jimmy I think we can almost take a play from the weather channel guys. They look at the conditions on the ground they get out all of their computer models, gather all their data. Then they put on a blindfold and start throwing darts hoping that they get at least some of it right some of the time. But as we talked last week the advantage is that we have a general road map in the word of God about where this is all going and how this is going to play out. And I'm hoping we'll end up doing a better job then the weather men do in putting this all together.
You now for political and news junkies like you and I are 2019 sure was full of a lot of important stories every week. 2020 is already off to a start that makes Bible teachers want to get up in the morning and just see what the Lord's going to do next. There's certainly any number of potential stories that we could talk about. I sent you a list of some of those that I think will be some of the most important as we look over the years that's ahead of us. One of the most important is obviously the upcoming Presidential election because there's so much at stake when it comes to the shape and direction of our country for years to come. And we could easily get pulled down into the politics which is exactly what we don't want to do or to not promote either political party or individual candidates. But I think we can talk about platforms and trajectories of individuals and those that they pull into their spears of orbits and the type of people who are drawn toward them.
JD: You know I think you and I have a new title prognosticators. That's what those weather guys are. I love the way you describe how they give us the weather. They take a dart and throw it with a blindfold on to make sure they don't know where to even throw the dart.

The prophetic passages in the Bible give us the end time scenario that is God's plan for the future. As we make decisions for the future we must know what that future will be according to the word of God. II Peter chapter 1 says that we have a more sure word of prophecy more sure then even an eyewitness account to the event, that according to the apostle Peter. John another apostle, wrote what Jesus revealed to him in the book of Revelation. And that's that sure word of prophecy. And remember the apostle Paul told us to preach that word, that's II Timothy 4:1-4.

Iran's Number Two leader is dead, and what lies ahead is prophetic

JD: When I start a conversation with Ken Timmerman in a moment we’re going to catch immediately what is ahead. It relates to what took place there in the Middle East actually in Iraq itself with the elimination by a United States military team. A elimination of the number one military man possibly the number two guy in all of Iran, General Soleimani. And he’s the man who headed up the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Ken this is an unbelievable story.
KT: Jimmy it’s an earth shattering story if you wish for US-Iranian relations I believe for the future of the Iranian regime and ultimately for the rest of the Middle East. Qassem Soleimani the number one terror master in Iran was killed by US forces and with him goes a good deal of their apparatus. Because he wasn’t just an individual commander. If there is such a thing as an irreplaceable man in the Iranian regime context he’s the guy. He is more important to the regime then the Supreme leader who actually is a nobody. He is a two-bit low-level itinerant village preacher or at least those are his origins.
Qassem Soleimani was the man who inspired Iranian terrorist, who held there far networks together, who built them new bases and whom the regime always sent out to the front lines because they had nobody else. He is the irreplaceable man. He is gone and the regime is going to be much much weaker as a result of it.
JD: Ken Timmerman with details on Iran’s number two leader who has died and what does that all mean.

Ken Timmerman is right on target in his report on the United States special ops team that killed Iran’s leader the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard General Soleimani. And how dangerous he was to the United States but also to the Middle East region and in fact the whole world. Iran’s eschatology is that a catastrophe in our world today could bring back the Mahdi, the Islamic Messiah. This Islamic Messiah will then go to Jerusalem to set up an Iranian caliphate, a worldwide kingdom. The death of General Soleimani could be the catastrophe or the Iranian response to that death could cause the catastrophe to bring back the Islamic Messiah to Jerusalem.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard is also called the Quds force, the Jerusalem force. Current events again setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

The Palestinian leadership calls for a "Day of Rage" which is Palestinian violence against the Jewish people

JD: The Palestinians were involved in a Day of Rage. Can you tell us what is that “Day of Rage”?
IM: Over the years the Palestinian Authority closer to the Days of Rage when there’s something political happens that they want to protest. What’s significant is that where as certainly protest is as legal and excepted around the world they call for violence, they call for rage. One of the Palestinian leaders in discussing this Day of Rage said we have to escalate the confrontations. Another one used a terminology we have to escalate until it leads to a full fledge intifada. Intifada is a Palestinian euphemism for terror campaign. We’ve had two intifada. One of them in which 200 Israelis were killed and one of them which 1,100 Israelis were killed.
The Palestinian Authority fits the precise definition of a terror organization. A terror organization is an organization that uses violence in order to achieve political gain. That’s exactly what they do. They call for Days of Rage and violence and terror. This was in response to statement by the United States Government, the Secretary of State that settlements are not illegal. And in response to that legitimate political statement, you can agree or disagree, the Palestinian Authority is calling for violence. Again like I said this is so important because it’s not just a Day of Rage it is typical of terror organization to call for violence to achieve a political goal.
JD: Itamar Marcus with the details behind the Palestinian “Day of Rage”, that’s Palestinian violence against the Jewish people.

The Palestinian led Day of Rage violence against the Jewish people is evidence that Bible prophecy in God’s word is being played out today. Ezekiel 35 reveals that the Palestinians, Mount Seir in that passage, the Palestinians will rise up and kill the Jews. Malachi 1 foretells of the time when the Edomites will return. The Palestinians are the modern day Edomites and they will be despised by the Lord. In fact, the Jewish prophet Obadiah reveals that the Lord will allow the Jews to destroy the Palestinians as if they have never been, that’s Obadiah verse 18.
Although this may sound harsh the Palestinians, the Edomites of years past have killed hundreds and thousands of Jews. God’s judgment for that act is that the Palestinians will be wiped out as if they have never been.

The media has been covering the testimony of rap artist Kanye West, and asking "Is it true or not?"

JD: This has been a polarizing issue. Can you give us some examples of things that are being said and maybe some guidance as believers today?
DJ: There has been a lot of fairly strong reaction among both Christians and non-Christians from rejoicing on one end of the spectrum to vilifying him at the other end with a lot of other people in between. The Daily Beast ran an article in October with the title, “Kanye West, Jesus is King is Fake Christianity at its Finest”. That album the article cynically says, now we have what many to expect to be West first full foray into gospel and well it just sounds like Kanye being Kanye with more scripture.
Back in October West apparently said if you believe that Jesus died for your sins then you know the gospel, that’s the gospel. Said simple Christians we would be making it too hard for people to come and be involved in this. Just a couple of weeks ago West performed at the Astroworld Festival in the Houston area where Marilyn Manson also performed his hit song Antichrist Superstar; so that’s not good. On the other hand a lot of people are praising Kanye for turning his life around and being outspoken for the Lord. And they say young believers make a lot of mistakes and so many are forgiving at least for now.
Personally I’m probably some where between being cautiously skeptical and cautiously optimistic. Only the Lord knows the truth of the matter but if I were discipling him I would advise him to drop off the radar for at least a couple of years, learn the word of God and quietly serve the Lord out of the public eye. Paul cautions people going into ministry don’t be a novice because they can be puffed up with pride and fall into condemnation nation of the devil.

Dave’s report on the testimony of Kanye West having received Jesus Christ as his savior is cautiously optimistic. As a new convert Kanye needs to spend time in the Bible before he moves full force into Christian ministry. The lyrics to Kanye’s song Jesus is King is not correct today. I John chapter 2 states that Jesus is now our intercessor. Jesus indeed will be king when God the Father gives him his dominion and makes him king. And that happens when Jesus comes back to the earth, Daniel 7:13 &14. Ministry for Christian Ministers must be Biblically correct. We all must study God’s prophetic word which is one-third of the Bible.

On the internet there has been a fire storm between the followers of John MacArthur and Beth Moore

JD: There’s been a fire storm all across the internet because of a comment that John MacArthur made at a conference concerning the popular Bible teacher Beth Moore.
DJ: Well it’s been all over social media. So on the one side there’s been a firestorm of reaction to what John MacArthur said. Then on the other side there’s been strong reaction to those who have taken John MacArthur to task by those defending him.
Now Todd Friel who’s the host of Wretched Radio started off part of a panel discussion by saying this, “I will say a word and the three of you need to give a word or a response to the word, let’s being with an easy one the word is Beth Moore”. Then John MacArthur said I was thinking of the same word go home. And the MacArthur went on to say there’s no case that can be made Biblically for a woman preacher period, paragraph, end of discussion.
JD: What are some of the concerns many have with Beth Moore and how should we look at this Biblically?
DJ: Beth Moore is preaching and teaching men in sports arenas and in large churches around the country. And the Southern Baptist Convention statement of doctrinal beliefs affirms that while men and women are created equal they have different roles in marriage, family and the church. And Paul makes it clear in I Timothy chapter 2 that women are not to be teaching the Bible or theology or in a position of authority over men.
And based on my research Beth Moore claims that Jesus talks to her and she recounts the exact words exchanged between the two of them. He sometimes, and this is her words, calls her honey and babe when they talk. She claims to get revelation, knowledge and directions from God that she records and speaks. She says she’s a visual person so He often speaks to her through visions and by putting pictures in her head. She regularly partners with charismatics. So unfortunately Beth Moore holds to quite a bit of bad theology, is mystical in practice and stands an opposition to the word of God when it comes to role of women in the church.

Dave’s report showcased the issue of women preachers and conservative men teachers of the word of God, the Bible. It is key that we study God’s word on this issue. And also we must pay attention to the letter that Jesus sent to the church in Asia Minor some 2,000 years ago the church at Thyatira. Revelation 2:18-29 is the letter that Jesus used to warn of women preachers in the church and the false teaching that they may be giving. Dave’s report was not an attack on women but a sign of disobedience to God’s word in the last days.
