Y’all! I finally got my hands on Millennia by Mooncat polishes (or got it on my hands?) and omg it is even prettier than I expected! This is just two thin coats with no base, and I used a little magnet wand that came with it to pull the teal into a soft cats eye stripe.

I feel so fancy!

some more just like. minor story revision

I thiiink I want to start off cycle 3 with novice working with judge instead of their conflict starting immediately????

I was originally planning on judge being immediately convinced that novice Should Not Exist. but considering the Novice was made Like That waaaaay before Judge existed I think it makes more sense for judge to keep novice around as an ally/underling. besides without the novice (or at least someone doing what the novice did) Sar'kai wouldn't've been restored from their time as Noxa Krav which (at least to Judge) is an objectively good thing

it would also be pretty easy to just have the demon-ing of Brutus be the thing that pisses judge off but I still like the idea of the judge already be pissed off and hunting novice down before that happens, so I gotta figure out why they hate each other's guts at that point

Hello hello! Mod Ki'to here, and I am the humble Mooncat behind @humblemooncat (Clever, isn't it? I'll see myself out-)

I'll be helping out with the festivities this year offering my services as an omnigatherer, tank, and my access to things such as skybuilders' and island goodies (For which I have a plethora of currency)!

So, if you need help getting certain things you might not yet have access to, collecting an abundance of resources, or a tank to help level or farm, I'm your man. o7

To introduce myself a bit more for those who've never seen me around before, I run the aforementioned blog as my main hub for all things FFXIV, but generally I just post about my main catboys and assorted ocs!

My mains in-game are my Warriors of Sunlight & Moonlight, U'lohi Tia ("Orange Sherbert" in-game) and Ki'to Vashai.

Though Lohi's home world is Halicarnassus, Dynamis, you can generally find them both on Zalera, Crystal! If I'm not on one, chances are I'm on the other. ;3c

I also run the sideblog @hikinghydaelyn, made for a challenge alt I play from time to time whose main goal is to rp walk the whole MSQ.

Other than the usual MSQ updates for Lohi, and my personal "Mooncat ramblings", I also pride myself on my gposes, my occasional writing (My Playlist drabbles and "A Journey of Remembrance" being my favorites), and my art!

hi I'm thinking about Lunker a lot so I'm going to talk a bit about Lunker

so in mortally coiled, Lunker is one of the only three non-"Big Three" eternals that have a presence in the Mortal Coil. technically their presence in the Mortal Coil is a tiiiiiny sliver of their actual consciousness because an eternal cannot have a significant portion of themselves exist within a Domain without losing their sanity but that's a complex discussion for a different ramble

anyways. the reason why Lunker is initially interested in the mortal coil is because of it's "ecosystem" aka the existance of mortals. they're a researcher, kinda? so in order to observe and interact with the mortal coil without being Too Overtly Suspicious (because fucking with someone else's Domain is REALLY rude and an easy way to piss off a powerful Eternal) they take the visage and role of a local deity to interact with mortals

(and that's another thing that I won't go too in depth about, but the gist is that while the Big Three Eternals ARE worshiped as major gods in the mortal coil, there's a lot of local "gods" that usually consist of more public-facing sundogs/mooncats, a small handful of spirits, a few that are started by sightings of The Novice, and a lot that are just sort of Their Own Thing without any basis. so Lunker just sort of adopts the form of one of those naturally-arisen gods only really worshiped casually by a village or two)

and so while they're posing as this local deity they sorta just. casually start sending "visions" to this one priest (aka they just sort of show up and start chatting). this is all because Lunker is trying to prove their own crackpot hypothisis of "sub-domain theory" which is that creating a Domain is NOT exclusive to Eternals, and that it's possible for denizens of a Domain to create their OWN Domain. and it's a SUPER controversial theory because the reason WHY Lunker is trying to prove it is because their REAL theory is that the Eternal Coil is a Domain itself and that there's ANOTHER Coil that's "above" the Eternal Coil, which is probably a Domain of YET ANOTHER COIL. it's coils all the way down. so obviously all the other eternals think this is fucking stupid

so now Lunker is in the Mortal Coil hanging out with a priest doing the equivalent of trying to teach an ant in someone else's toolsheld how to build a tiny ant-sized nuclear reactor. and then the priest and lunker form a weird codependent toxic whirlwind romance after the priest finds out what's actually going on

I also have to add that this is NOT a major plotline for mortally coiled. these are like two extremely minor side characters that show up like. maybe three times ever in the main storyline and it's mostly just the main characters stumbling into the village they're holed up in and going "wow! those two are weird. anyways,"

I’m following a group about Disney’s Gargoyles on facebook and there was a post with Greg Weisman’s rambles on the relationship between Goliath and Demona from 2002 that won’t leave me alone. I’ve copied in the text in case the picture doesn’t load properly:

Here's another post I just know I'm going to regret.  But I can't seem to help myself.

Mooncat, please don't take this personally, but I think you're viewpoint on  Goliath 's "shallow" love for Demona is misguided.

Let me make a few parallel changes to illustrate my point.

1.  Let's say both  Goliath  and Demona were humans.

2.  Let's say  Goliath  was a  woman   named   Gina .

3.  Let's say Demona was a man  named  Dan.

4.  Let's say that instead of taking place atop rooftops and castles, these events were taking place in a two-bedroom house in suburbia.

5.  Let's say that instead of using laser bazookas and the like, Dan was simply using a baseball bat.  Or his fists.

Now take your scenario.  Once upon a time, when they were young,  Gina  swore undying love for Dan.  They got married.  Spent years together.  Even had a daughter together.  There may have been hints along the way as to Dan's troubling nature, but  Gina  ignored those hints.  She still loved Dan.

But, hey, sometimes things change.  They go from good to bad to worse.  Now Dan beats her.  He hurts her.  He's tried to kill her more than once and has nearly succeeded.  He runs off.  Shows up again, and behaves the same way.  He has successfully killed other people in cold blood.  Sometimes  Gina  reaches out to him.  Sometimes he pretends to be good.  And hey, he never, ever hurts their daughter.  But he always winds up hurting  Gina  again.  I can't tell you how many times  Gina  has been taken to Sunrise Hospital for treatment.  Well, I could tell you.  You could count for yourself, I guess.  But once is too many, and we both know it.

Whatever oath  Gina  took once upon a time is, as I see it, moot.  No one should stay in an abusive relationship.  I wouldn't want my daughter to do it.  I wouldn't want my son to do it.  And I wouldn't want  Gina  or  Goliath  to do it either.  To not respect  Gina  for moving on with her life given Dan's behaviour, is IMHO kinda horrendous.

Now I'm not saying Dan is Satan.  He may have a decent side to him.  He may have taken some hard knocks himself, maybe even as a child.  He's certainly lonely as hell inside his own skin.  All mitigating factors.  Certainly Dan needs help.  Would benefit from counseling.  But to put that all on  Gina 's shoulders, the VICTIM, is beyond unreasonable.  Love is NEVER enough in these situations.  You may feel that  Goliath  didn't make a big enough effort, but you weren't the one being shot at.  (And my comment in the CR about how maybe  Goliath  looked for her between episodes, was way beside the point as well.)

Personally, I have tremendous empathy for Demona.  Not mere sympathy but empathy.  I feel that there but for the grace of God, go I, more often than I care to admit.  But empathy or sympathy doesn't cut it.  She's committed cruel and violent (murderous) acts against other living beings.

And to use your own example, if Elisa went "Dark" and  Goliath  had to chose between saving her and an innocent.  I'd hope he'd save the innocent.  I hope that's the kind of guy he is.  That he does the right thing, no matter how personally painful.

And if you think what happened with Demona wasn't personally painful for him on every level, then I failed as a storyteller.

On that island grind today, and I had a curiosity.

We all know glam is the true endgame, and while I'm sure we have carefully-curated glams for a lot of our jobs that we wear while on the job, I wonder what everyone's bumming around/chilling glam is. The glam you see your character most often in when you're just doing things for the sake of being online.

This, for example, is Ki'to's bumming around/grinding glam.

I just find it interesting that, with all the pretty glams in-game, I notice a lot of people dressing their characters in something they might find comfy when they're just milling around.

I'll obviously still be doing my Swap stuff, maybe hopping back on Nanari (@hikinghydaelyn) if I feel like slowing down for a bit, and occasionally posting over on my bg3 sideblog (@frostbittenbard) if I'm not actively playing, but otherwise I'm not gonna push myself to have a presence here when it feels like a chore. (not due to anyone, just my own mental health)

Finally logged the boy in to get his car.

Was not expecting the long, involved questline, but I loved it regardless. Been a hot minute since I've seen XV, so seeing Noctis again was great, and I feel like he and Ki'to would be good buddies.

The only thing this event was missing is a new recipe. Though I suppose there was no Ignis so-
