Oh and book recs? I love mystery and circular fantasy :)
Oh, absolutely!!! My number one FAVORITE mystery is Greenglass House, by !!! It's set in an inn during Christmas time, and all the guests are kinda trapped there by the snowstorm. Milo, the innkeepers son, and his friend Meddy, are trying to figure out why these five mysterious people choose this inn, and then, someone starts stealing from the guests
It's much better than I make it seem🤣 it's got fantasy vibes, and has a lot about folklore and story telling in it. HIGHLY recommend!!
There's also Nooks and Crannies, by Jessica Lawson which is kinda Charlie and The Chocolate Factory meets Clue, complete with 1980s England vibes (that may be the setting, I forget)
I admit, I'm not totally sure what circular fantasy is, I assume it relates to a circular narrative? Regardless, I bet Moonscript by H. S. J. Williams applies!! It's about an elven prince who was captured by the forces of evil 70 years before the book starts, and the girl who finds him!!! LOTS of found family vibes. It's not subtle, I love it. Also, there's a pirate. And redemption
I'm not sure if this is circular or not, but Valiant by Sarah McGuire is SO GOOD. It's a retelling of the fairy tale The Valiant Little Tailor, which you would not expect to be one of the best books I've ever read, but it IS. If you want more details on it, send @kanerallels an ask. She ADORES it, and would absolutely love a chance to talk about it!!!
Thanks for the ask!!! I hope you like the books!!😊

Tune Tuesday
And they are inside your head
You got a voice that says
You won't get past this one
You won't win your freedom
It's like a constant war
And you wanna settle that score
But your bruised and beaten
And you feel defeated
This goes out to the heaviest heart
Oh, to everyone who's hit their limit
It's not over yet
It's not over yet
And even when you think you're finished
It's not over yet
It's not over yet
Keep on fighting
Out in the dark
Into the light
It's not over
Hope is rising
Never give in
Never give up
It's not over
It’s Not Over Yet by for KING & COUNTRY
I think this is probably the song I think of when I think of Moonscript. No matter what, the heroines in the book keep on fighting. Even when all hope seems lost. I feel like these lyrics portray Errance and his friends perfectly.
(The handwriting is my sisters because mine if awful😅)

Tumblr media
I’m thrilled to be part of the cover reveal for Moonscript by H. S. J. Williams! I’ve been hearing about this book for years so I’m super excited that it’s releasing soon — in May! :O
Here’s the info, and then I’ll share the gorgeousness that is the cover. 😀

Wip Wednesday
I leave the writing stuff to my sister. I enjoy art way more. Not exactly the drawing part but more of the painting aspect! I also like to write playwrights and help my sister out on occasion with her writing projects. Me and her would LOVE to write a book together sometime. I’m currently working on these moon phases as my final art project for school. I’m still an amateur but I love it so much!

I don’t think H.S.J. Williams is on Tumblr but my sister told me about this challenge she’s hosting on Instagram called Monscript May and I had to take part in it! (I don’t have Instagram yet because I’m not 13...but I will be in a couple of weeks!) So I’m going to be posting these for me and my sister because she never posts anything on Instagram so I have to do it here for her😅

Thoughtful Thursday
“You know the tale of creation?” he asked.
“Of course, ” she said. Anybody knew that. Even poor orphan children were expected to have a basic understanding of Ayeshune and the world’s beginning lest they be considered absolute heathens.
He raised his hand and the edges of his skin began to glow. Her eyes widened as the light drifted from his fingers and gathered in a shining sphere before him. Magic? But of course, he was not an earth elf, but a celestial, or so the legends said.
Out of all the scenes, this is probably my favorite. Tillie is my FAVORITE character. I love her so much!!😩 She resembles a lot of my personality and I can relate to her so much. This scene is pretty basic but my favorite. I loved the artwork that went along with it. It's so cool that H.S.J. Williams not only wrote this book but also illustrated it! I love these characters so much. The journey they've been on is remarkable. They've been through so many hardships and trials but also lots of happy moments too. I can't wait to read more about their journey and Coren and Zizain’s in Crown of Sand & Sea.
(Also included my favorite quote!)
