Reading a novel in my indigenous narratives class n like. Its ass. The book is absolute ass.

Its a memoir by a dude in his early 20s n its won basically every reward u can think of in canada n its 'amazing' but while readin i got to chapter 8 n was hit by the realization that this shit is nothing. Like its all so many fancy words and sentences and just leads to. What? Its so much of nothing.

Theres absolutely good bits bout being indigenous in canada and bein gay and hookup culture but so much of it is about how lonely he is and i cant take it like. Is it profound to talk bout how he seeks out hookups with people who fetishize him? Or how he leaves his family and moves to edmonton? Or how he thinks he has no one and is so so so so alone.

Like. Its such a shit n frustrating memoir to me cuz its jus an unfinished diary. It doesnt reslly end on . Anything? Like why did he make a fucking memoir at all? Whats the point? How can he even make a memoir about shit he hasnt stopped doin? Like. Memoirs r about ppls whole lives n specific events but this is just rambling with the occasional recollection of his experienced n its all buried under fancy big words.
