GUYSSS!

So a while ago I said I wanted to make a collection of H2O merchandise for the mature audience/merch that is not automatically clockable as H2O themed. After dropping a Bella & the Band design, it was very well received and I started working on a few more things... So, today's the day!

This first drop contains 10 designs, available on t-shirts, hoodies, as stickers, magnets, hats, tote bags, and what not, including customisable colours. Welcome to the H2hoe: Just Add Merch! Collection.

The Life I Was Promised / H2hoe Water Bottle

These first two are inspired by some of the posts and memes on my page. The minute I wrote that line with Cleo in the bath I found it hilarious, and it was indeed a very popular post. The water bottle design says "Stay hydrated, you h2hoe" with the H2hoe shoe logo on the bottle, for the keen eyed.

Mako Island Tours / Greetings from Mako Island

These two were meant to be like, holiday souvenirs from your trip to the Gold Coast. One from a "business" of boat tours around Mako, while the other is more in postcard style.

Rikki's Café / JuiceNet

These two were tricky to come up with, cause restaurants don't really have merchandise. I made a mock up receipt from each cafe (including some references in the listed items 👀). You're gonna confuse a lot of people bout why you're wearing a receipt on your shirts, but if they know, they know.

No Ordinary Girl Form / Full Moon Spell

These were also semi-inspired by the memes on this page. The first one is a job application form, with some memorable lyrics :)

And of course, no one can hold you accountable for full moon fever, girlboss.

Bella & the Band #1 and #2

These two were posted here before, so I'm just gonna quickly mention if you missed 'em. First one is a tour merch for whatever fictional tour apparently happened during the summer of 2011. The other design is more of a poster with all band members and song titles.

i have endless love for characters who catch a glimpse of something supernatural and then spend all their time tracking it down and researching and trying to figure out what it was until eventually they do and they get swept up into the magical world bc without fail every time all i can think is i would sooo shrug and be like huh. that was weird but not my business. unexplainable things happen all the time what can you do. i would so want to know about the werewolves or mermaids or what the fuck ever but in my heart i know i’d be like “ah yeah trauma does weird things to the brain and i can be pretty imaginative” and just gaslight myself out of it.

h2o really dropped the ball by not having charlotte seek zane out when she found out about gracie being a mermaid. maybe she overhears someone gossipping about that time zane went on a mermaid hunt and goes to find him. so now he's stuck in a position where he's with someone who's on the same path as he was, but he knows she's right just like he knows rikki would kill him if he told charlotte.

#it would create a very interesting scene #because he knows charlotte's correct mermaids are real #and he kinda thinks she deserve to know the truth because gracie was her grandmother #and he's trying to talk it over with rikki #by saying hey she doesn't have to know about you guys but she should know the truth about gracie #but rikki isn't budging on it not that zane really blames her but it kinda rubs him the wrong way #anyway i think we deserved some zane and charlotte scenes i'd love to know their dynamic #h2o just add water #charlotte watsford #zane bennett

So I had a realization.

Zane Bennet almost drowned in the sinking Loreley and that obviously had some consequences on his mental health. There's this scene where he dreams very intense about him being there again and being saved. This time I realised how deeply traumatising it must have been for Zane, he fought for his life on that ship. And having nightmares about a traumatic experience is a symptom of PTSD, isn't it?!

The whole monster/mermaid chasing afterwards is a way for him to make sense out of his survival. He was trapped and he knew it and he was about to drown, but something saved him. It must have felt like a miracle. Maybe his whole character development in season 1 comes down to this one moment. He still has an intense personality, but his morals are changing slowly. He is more open and less selfish and somehow Rikki gets to like him bc "he gets her".

So executing this thought to the end, I think the girls could have told him their secret by themselves right after the sinking of the Loreley. He owes them his life and he his trying to heal, he's harmless after this near death experience.

But obviously they have their concerns and maybe we wouldn't have been blessed with so much Rikki and Zane content, so I won't be ungrateful lol

a concept: rikki takes zane to the local amusement park. she's an adrenaline girlie and wants to go on all the rides that don't involve water, zane struggles to keep up with her and eventually taps out to go get sick after their fifth ride on the tallest rollercoaster. rikki takes him to the park's café, plies him with fluids, and tries not to tease him too much for his inability to stomach all the rides, saying that he should have told her sooner he wasn't feeling it

eventually, when he looks a little less green, she takes him to the ferris wheel. when they get to the top, looking out over the sea, he realises he isn't afraid of heights anymore, hasn’t been since they got locked out on the balcony together and she talked him through it. rikki rolls her eyes and says something like 'how could you be thinking about heights when you could be looking at me instead!' zane just stares at her like she's something he admires. peace and love on planet zikki

#also consider: zane plays one of those fairground games that are designed so you lose and ends up getting a tiny dolphin key-ring for rikki #rikki plays the same game and wins a giant dolphin for zane that's almost as big as him. he is proud of his mermaid gf's superior #aim and happily carries it around the park with him #anyway. they 💖💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖💕#h2o just add water #.txt #h2o #zikki

#where is the ingenuity the creativity #obsessed with moonpool/something mermaid related —> getting dangerously close to secret —> love interest of a mermaid #like zane and rikkis dynamic in s1 was sooo good bc there’s so many interesting things you can do w mermaid hunter x mermaid form of trope #and they just missed the mark on will & bella #(due to lack of personality as well)#bc like… a mermaid is less tangible harder to find etc there’s a chase and rikki was actively hiding/ living a double life w zane #but the moonpool is physical place and extremely easy for will to enter from land or water #and every fucking time they go with him to stop him he just gets there anyways #less anticipation of what will happen i suppose #anyways this one’s for u opalsiren #anti s3 #h2o just add water

mermaid tales Ro'Meave thoughts hurt me so much

even though it's never canonically stated whether or not Zane was always a crab in that incarnation I'm gonna say he was cursed.

Zane and Vylad were pirates on Garroth's ship but unfortunately they got into a batlle and those two were counted among the casualties. Zane fell off the ship and was cursed to be a crab by that guy (i can not for the life of me remember his name) and as for Vylad I'm gonna say taken as hostage by the other ship but Garroth's crew assumed he was dead and thrown overboard.

They were supposed to be going home with the riches they accrued but Garroth's never felt poorer after having lost his brothers
