PDP: I saw one Rivers rapist at Shekarau’s homecoming— Gov. Wike
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, made a jab at an unknown rapist and a PDP supporter who attended Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s return to the PDP party in Kano State on Tuesday.  Recall how Shekarau, who left the New Nigeria Peoples Party a few days prior, was welcomed back into the PDP on Monday by Atiku Abubakar, a contender for president.  According to Wike, a rapist from Rivers was…

*Won’t raise any other flag till J&K’s flag, constitution is returned: Mehbooba Mufti*
*‘Geelani’s refusal to meet centre delegation led to huge losses, BJP demolished constitution, wants to replace it with party manifesto, our fight not confined for Art 370 restoration, but for K-issue resolution also’*
Srinagar, Oct 23 (KNO): Former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that she will not raise any flag till the flag of Jammu and Kashmir is returned. She also said that the ruling party in the centre is trying to replace the constitution of the country with its party manifesto.
Addressing a news conference, Mehbooba Mufti, who was accompanied by Abdul Rehman Veeri, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and Suhail Bukhari told media persons that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demolished the constitution of the country.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), she said the party has demolished the country’s constitution and has been implementing anti-people acts. However, she said that the current era of authoritarian rule will also not sustain forever, saying that Hitler’s rule also culminated.
“Anyone who is raising his or her voice over the abrogation of Article 370 is being suppressed. The fact is that the government has failed to come up with the expectations of people over development, employment and other mandatory issues and to divert the attention, the government is blocking minorities and also Kashmiris,” she said in her first press conference, 11 days after she was released from 14-month-long detention.
Our fight is not confined for the restoration of Article 370, but for the resolution of Kashmir issue as well. Kashmir issue is an issue and nobody can turn their eye blind towards it,” she said.
Mehbooba added that “those who think we will forget Article 370 are living in fool’s paradise. People have given a lot of sacrifices and we won’t allow the sacrifices to go waste.”
She added that she will be the first person among the leaders to give her blood for this cause in case the need arises. “We (Leaders) are united and people should also fight it in unison. It is not the fight of Dr Farooq, Sajad Lone or any other leader. But of one and all,” she added.
“Since Article 370 was abrogated, the government left no stone unturned to hurt the sentiments of people by taking all the anti-people decisions. They don’t want people of Jammu and Kashmir. People of JK are expendable for them,” she added.
Asked about her statement regarding the flag before the abrogation of Article 370, the former chief minister said that they are not going to raise any other flag till the flag of Jammu and Kashmir is returned.
“The ruling party has already demolished the constitution as well as the flag as the party used the flag (tricolor) in a pro-rapists rally in Jammu. The flag of Jammu and Kashmir was the only reason behind the relation with the other flag,” she said.
She while replying to a query said, whether Jammu and Kashmir is a Union Territory or a State, Mehbooba Mufti is not here for power.
“We didn’t ally with BJP for power. If you remember my father made a statement on 28 July 2014 wherein he stated that he wants to work for JK people. By forging an alliance with the BJP, my father tried to put jinn into the bottle. He knew a Tsunami is coming,” she added.
She also stated that it was not the alliance with BJP that led to the abrogation of Article 370 as everything was done from the parliament. “It was the parliament that was misused. Parliament had no right to do this. We stood like a wall for Article 370. It was only because of releasing stone pelters, Jamaatis and returning the bodies of militants to their families that the bonhomie with BJP,” she said.
Asked whether she has any regret of forging an alliance, Mehbooba said she regrets for posing a faith on the leader from that party who have demolished the constitution of the country, who stole everything from J&K.
As per KNO Correspondent, she also added that she has been a street fighter and coming on roads is nothing new for her.
About elections, she said that “Mehbooba has nothing to do with the elections.” However, she said that party leaders will it together and the signatories of Peoples Alliance will also sit and take any decision accordingly.
She added that BJP is dividing people on caste and religion, but “we have united and will also unite people.”
While replying to a query, Mehbooba said she know the Article 370 case is currently subjudice but you need to create an atmosphere on the ground.
Asked about Geelani’s refusal to talk with the delegation from centre, Mehbooba said the refusal to meet the delegation led to the huge losses, adding that “It was the not delegation of BJP leaders. If Geelani was not willing to talk, he should have at least allowed them to enter the house. But restricting their entry in the home has portrayed different picture of Kashmir,” she said—(KNO)

Accusation of Rape, Big Man Commits Suicide
Tumblr media
Accusation of rape without strong evidence have finally seen a young and ambitious young man and father of one into the grave. I hope it’s not all false allegatins.
Twitter NG has been all sad ever since the news of the alleged suicide by Micheal Asiwaju, who goes by the alias “Mike Cash”
As at when this post was written, it had 21k+ tweets and is the number one topic trending in the entire nation, not even the presidential debate which would be aired LIVE in the later hours of today.
It was gathered that Asiwaju injested a poisonous substance conceived to be Sniper and his  lifeless body was found in his hotel room around 12am on January 13, 2019.
The CEO of Asiwaju Royal Furniture in Ojo, Lagos, Michael Asiwaju, had lodged into the hotel in the evening of the previous day.
Moments  before the self-slaughter, he had disclosed his plan through his Twitter handle, @Asiwaju_limited, to end his life.
“Goodbye, I’ll die soon. (I) am gone,”
he tweeted at exactly 7.35pm on Saturday, the 12th of January.”, Asiwaju had about 24,700 followers on Twitter at the time of his death.
The post was the last of numerous messages the late Asiwaju tweeted last Saturday, between 5.52pm and 7.35pm, while reacting to the rape claims.
Just a week ago, a Twitter user, who goes by the handle @thatgoddess, had called out Asiwaju, stating that she had knowledge about how he forcefully had carnal knowledge of a woman inside his vehicle. Yet, she said strong evidences about the allegation were still shady.
This woman (real name unknown) later posted screenshot of a conversation she had with yet another woman who not only said she knows of the deceased deeds but that she was a victim of his perverted acts, one which took place around May, two years ago (2017).
In the screenshot, the woman claimed that the deceased father of one had deceived her into “chilling” in an hotel room and raped her.
Part of the woman’s side of the said is quoted verbatim:
“I don’t want anyone linking me to this. He raped me. His full name is Michael Asiwaju. He owns a furniture company.  He’s also known as Mike Cash. He is mostly in Festac. He tried to lure me with money and gifts. He was asking me out and I refused. I was just fine being friends with him because he was a controlling person.
He said I’m his girlfriend and I just laughed about it cos (because) I never agreed to be his girlfriend. He always wanted me to come see him but I always refused. Then, he accused me of sleeping around with men. I ignored him and then he apologised. So he called me and said I should come hang out with him and his friends at the beach.
“So I thought it was okay to go see him since it was an open place and his friends were gonna (going) be there.  So when it was time to leave the beach, he was supposed to drop me off at Lekki Phase I; then I’d get Uber to take me to my house. He also had to drop one of his friends at his hotel. So we were all in the car and then his friend dropped midway.
“Mike said we had to go to his friend’s hotel to wait for him. I didn’t even understand what was going on but I didn’t mind cos (because) we were not alone. His cousin was there too.”
The indicter established that when she and the deceased man got to the hotel, she hung around the lobby instead of lodging with Asiwaju. She  further disclosed that his cousin drove Asiwaju’s car out of the hotel’s grounds and  consented to return soon.
“Mike kept telling me to go chill in the room instead of waiting at the lobby. He kept assuring me that I’d be okay. So I went to the room; (the) biggest mistake of my life. I really trusted that nigga.
“I was alone for a while, then he came in and locked the door. I started to panic. He started touching me and all that. I told him I wasn’t in the mood. So he said I was his girlfriend and he would have sex with me whether I was in the mood or not. I started to fight him and he became aggressive.” She said
But while reacting to the allegations last Saturday on his Twitter handle, @Asiwaju_limited, the late furniture expert said the women imputing him of rape were, as a matter of fact, his girlfriends who he met via social media.
The series: Huey’s Chronicles – Episode 1
Chronicles of Life Tenants

The Business side of Religion
How to lose weight fast in 11 steps
He also uploaded photos of two of the supposed girlfriends, stating that they had “fun” together sometime in 2017 at a club, where he spent N500,000 just for the night.
Asiwaju  also pointed accusing fingers at his former business partner, one Miss/Mrs Blessing, saying she was the brain behind the blackmail.
He said:
“I (am) here, I’ll need to say my own side of the story. I know my former business partner sponsored this blackmail to destroy me cos (because) she’s contesting on the platform of All Progressives Congress.
He tweeted:
“You all claimed I raped you? We met on the social media, I took you to a club, I spent N500,000 popping Champaign cos (because) of you and we had sex when am (sic) high and you call it rape? In 2017, you didn’t report to the police. In 2018, you didn’t report to the police. In 2019, you decided to blackmail me.
“This two people (sic) and Blessing should be held responsible if anything happens to me. You came to visit me cos (because) you know I have money. We went to a club; I bought drinks worth half a million naira; we had sex inside my car you claimed I raped you just to tarnish my image.
“We discussed sex before you came; all this happened in 2017. None of you reported me to the police. In 2019 cos (because I) am supporting PDP and my bestie is contesting under APC, she sponsored this thread to destroy me.”
Asiwaju later tweeted further that the saga claimed the life of his ailing mother after she read the post online, adding that the blackmail had destroyed his family.
He tweeted:
“My mother died few minutes ago Cos she saw the post online, she just had an heart surgery… this blackmailed has destroyed FAMILY.”
He went on to say:
“This story made me lose my mum. Even when I called, I pleaded with these people to take down the post; that my mother just had (a) heart surgery. Imagine if I wanna pay back but I won’t cos I won’t be available.
He called out his former business partner again;
“Why will you destroy me when I told you my mother just had heart surgery? Now she’s gone everyone is crying Cos of your stupidity. Are u happy now? Blessing osom are u happy now ?”
“My advice for Nigeria girls; when you meet a guy, you like him cos he is rich; you talk sex before meeting him; don’t call it rape when he sleeps with you.
“What will you gain from this blackmail? Imagine if I decided to come after you and your family? But I won’t. Now that you have blackmailed and destroyed me, wetin u gain (What did you gain)? My mother is gone cos of this; I can be gone too cos right now I’m not myself anymore. “If you all want me to expose you, I still have your fucking nudes on my phone. Did I force you to send me nudes? Do you really wanna (want to) get exposed?”
The vexed  Asiwaju afterwards  posted  nudes which he claimed was sent by one of his “girlfriends”. He also uploaded an 11-second video clip, showing a faceless naked woman massaging  him with intent to sexually arouse him.
The deceased continued
“You sent me this and we clubbed together; got high and you called me a rapist just to tarnish my image.
“Someone DM this to me on Twitter; why do you people want us to expose ourselves? Plenty big gals (girls) on this platform send me nudes that they want me. When I sleep with them and stop talking to them, they blackmail me.
“I don’t care anymore. My mother is dead. I’ll expose all of you. Why will you destroy me when I told you my mother just had (a) heart surgery? Now she’s gone; everyone is crying cos of your stupidity. Are you happy now?
“You claimed I raped you. Bring police report. You feel blackmail will destroy me. Today might be the last time I tweet or breathe. Before you blackmail someone, think about their mental health. Are you happy now for destroying Asiwaju? Are you really happy Blessing?”
Further showing signs of being suicidal, Asiwaju, a single father, said his son would not live a regrettable life as he had made enough money for him to live on when he (Asiwaju) was no longer alive.
The tweet read:
“Nigerians are wicked , once they see a young man doing well do everything to destroy him… i’m a single father my son will not live to regret his life Cos I have made money for him.. even if I die he will live happily .
“My mother is gone. What am I doing here? Let’s get dirty on social media; stop calling me again to stop posting. Asiwaju raped you; tell Nigerians what led us to sex. Don’t sugarcoat things to spoil my image. “I met her on Twitter. She sucked my ass; she called me the richest guy she had ever met in her life and she’s among the people blackmailing me on Twitter. Imagine if I post her real face online. Goodbye I’ll die soon. (I) am gone,” he ended the tweets at 7.35pm.
Although, some of his followers were eager to know the suicidal man’s address and how he was doing since the allegations.
However, others made fun  about his predicament. One of them, a lady asked for his original iPhone charger before he would carry out  his suicide plan, another guy begged for his ATM pin.
Well, the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, CSP Chike Oti, confirmed the suicide. He said two bottles of Sniper was recovered from the incident scene.
He said,
“We are investigating a possible case of suicide. We were alerted that a young man died in his hotel room and the Commissioner of Police was informed. He directed that the body should be evacuated and that a team of detectives comprising men from the forensic unit and men from the homicide section should investigate the matter.
“The body was inspected and there was no visible mark of violence on the corpse. Two bottles of Sniper, which we reasonably believed he must have drunk, was recovered from the hotel room. One of the bottles had been emptied while the other one was still unopened. The man checked into the hotel with the name, Prince Moses. Preliminary investigation revealed that the man was the owner of a business known as Asiwaju Royal Furniture.”

Your post about Markipliers homophobia was really thorough and interesting. What do you think about his defense of PDP's Nazism? Do you think it's related to his lack of awareness/hostility towards LGBT+ issues?
oh honey
if you wanna see what I had to say to him about all that, just take a gander here
but to specifically address your question, yes and no. yes insomuch that I think he has a lot of biases and learned bigotries that he ether doesn’t realize or doesn’t care to change, and no insomuch that I don’t think the two are specifically related (I think he’s just generally bigoted, and mostly self-centered)
but I think none of us can be completely sure of the truth unless we really get to see him when he’s not behind the camera and as someone he trusts enough to let his guard down, or one of his friends comes forward and talks about what he’s really like off-screen. he works far too much to retain the image he’s made for himself to be open about what he really thinks.
but we do get little hints here and there of the truth, and you’ll see me point them out throughout that tag.
I personally think he’s incredibly privileged and self-centered and only really cares about what personally affects him and those immediately around him, and it’s starting to show. I think he also has a lot more personal biases and bigotries than he thinks he does and doesn’t actually care to unlearn them. he’s got damn near a billion people telling him he’s a perfect angel too good for this world, and I think he believes them (or at least feels like, because we already think that, he doesn’t need to bother bettering himself).
what I don’t know is if this image he’s made was on purpose, or if it just kinda happened and he rolled with it.
the reason I bring that up is because the charities he does seem awfully convenient to me.
like, for a while he only really did charities around children (for children’s hospitals and toys for tots type of stuff) then his friend killed himself, and he’s added suicide prevention to the list, and he only did an LGBT charity after I made the post I just reblogged.
and if you think about it, of course people will look at someone giving money to help children and think they’re a good person, when it comes to giving to charities, no one will question a charity for children.
but, think of all the things currently going on. a rapist has become president and is taking away rights left and right.
but is he doing charities for planned parenthood/abortion rights? rape prevention? domestic violence? or anything relating to immigrants/refugees? did he do anything for us during Orlando? or anything for France? has he even done any for a country hit by a natural disaster?
no, not to my memory.
and if you really think about it, all the charities he does revolve around him. it’s ether related to him personally, his image, or his friends.
I think he has a lot more biases/bigotries/hostility than any of us are truly aware of. I think that “respect” video and all his replies that boiled down to “hate equals hate but I’m only gonna get mad at you for standing up for yourselves against hate instead of them for hating you” was just a small taste of what he truly believes.

Quick thoughts on Mark’s ‘RESPECT’ video:
I see what he was trying to say. In general, people should treat others with respect, even if there are things they disagree on. That should be standard fare, let’s be real here.
However, discussing this in the context of all the PDP drama probably wasn’t the best idea. Regardless of whether he’s sorry or not, Felix made jokes that essentially dehumanised Jewish people (certainly not to the extent that the articles made out, but still), and that is what Mark doesn’t seem to fully explain. It’s no good making a point about dehumanising people whilst faffing about with whether or not to defend Felix and his actions.
Yes, respect comes with the basic levels of human decency, and no, I don’t think we should be demonising Felix. He’s said some awful shit, and I don’t think I’ll ever feel fully comfortable watching his videos ever again, but sincerely or not, an apology from him is a start. It’s better than showing zero remorse (e.g. all the alt-right bullshit we’ve been seeing from Jon/T/ron lately, plus all the past shit with Al/ex D/ay and S/am Pe/pper), and it’s at least a sign that he’ll be willing to improve on himself.
But I don’t think we should respect everyone automatically, and that’s what Mark doesn’t seem to address. Should we be respecting actual Nazis/the KKK/abusers/rapists/murderers??? GOOD GOD NO. People who essentially disrespect and dehumanise the existence of entire races, religions, sexualities, etc. are never worthy of respect. I believe what Mark should have expressed was that we need to show civility to others. If we are simply civil to those unworthy of respect, then that stops more hatred from breeding and festering throughout humanity.
At the end of the day, these are just my rambly thoughts on the matter, and they may not make all that much sense - hell, something I said may not have came out the way I intended. And that’s most likely what happened with Mark’s video. Made in the heat of the moment, and not all his thoughts made perfectly clear. And that’s understandable. Sadly I’ve seen a lot of folks immediately jumping to the conclusion that he’s an awful person for this. And I understand completely if you think that about Felix, you have every goddamn right to after the racist shit he pulled.
But Mark? No. I don’t think he deserves that.

Criminals, rapists felicitated but political prisoners not released on bail even on health grounds: Mehbooba Mufti
"This is not just about Altaf Shah whose family is waiting for his dead body since morning at AIIMS. Eighty-year-old Stan Swamy did not get bail and died in jail. There are others like Siddique Kappan, activists, political prisoners, who are languishing in jails and are not well, especially people from J&K and separatists," Mehbooba told reporters here.

http://tinyurl.com/y3vomz6y Prior to now thirty years, because the Kashmir Valley plunged into political turmoil, there have been only a few instances investigated by the Jammu and Kashmir Police which have introduced it laurels. One in all them was the Kathua rape and murder case, for which the state police obtained appreciation from throughout the political and social spectrum. Protests towards the Kathua rape and homicide case, Reuters Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, who had ordered the organising of the Particular Investigation Crew (SIT), stated, “A number of aspersions have been forged a few skilled (police) power, they usually revealed a harmful mindset. It was, as I’ve emphasised many occasions, a brutal rape and homicide case, and it had nothing to do with a area or a faith. The police handled this case in an expert method, they usually have performed an important job. A court docket in Pathankot on Monday sentenced three males together with a temple caretaker to life imprisonment until the final breath within the case, shortly after convicting them together with three others. One accused — the son of the mastermind Sanji Ram — was acquitted. Three accused have been convicted on prices of rape and homicide, whereas two others have been convicted on prices of destroying proof and have been handed out a five-year jail time period. “The Jammu and Kashmir police proved how dependable {and professional} it’s with regards to coping with such heinous crimes. She stated that earlier, the officers confronted disappointment on some events, significantly after they learnt that some police personnel have been bribed to hush up the case, and that they’d washed the sufferer’s garments in a bid to destroy proof. “I imagine there was a divine intervention to deliver the culprits to justice,” Sharma was quoted as saying by a information web site. For days now, I have kept myself updated with the countless allegations against the Interim Chairman of OSRC and OrangeFM, Mr ‘Kunle Adebayo, from concerned Ondo state people who are really desirous of a true and working radiovision outfit. I have also read from different groups, domiciled in Ondo State too, who have raised their voices against the person and character of the Chairman and his poor, autocratic management of the stations.
I waited for his response. I wanted to confirm if those allegations are baseless so the ‘project’ could easily be abandoned by the accusers while the public wave it off as one of those media trial against a very upright, decent, working and responsible official of the Ondo State government.
I was disappointed!
His defence, which came out as some sort of accusation, was watery, undefendable, political and had, written all over it, the writings of one who is condescending, arrogant, power drunk and confident he has the ears and assurances of the real power brokers inside the Alagbaka Government House. He accused the ‘perpetrators’ of being willful tools in the hands of the PDP, the major opposition party in Ondo. He also fingered many unnamed current and ex staff of OSRC and OrangeFM as the brains behind the social media attacks on his person. He asked why he won't deal with some staff members who got undue advantage(s) from the PDP before the coming of Arakunrin Akeredolu.
I do not get involved in character assassination or laundering of images of both private and public officials, yet some of the things few of us know about Mr ‘Kunle Adebayo must be brought to the public for His Excellency, Arakunrin Akeredolu, to wade in and save the stations and also his political career hanging in the loose if he continues to associate with and retain him as the boss of our own OSRC and OrangeFM.
May I ask why Mr. Governor, listening to the ‘professional’ advice from his GM, shut down our old and lovely 96.5fm? This is a station inside the massive compound of OSRC, using the same generator and staff. 96.5fm would compete with any Nigerian radio station with just little upgrade to the facilities, rebranding and repackaging, renovating the buildings and bringing on more competent hands and it'd be on top the ladder. Why shut down the station when it can make more money into the coffers of the state government?
It's even on record that OrangeFM is now the only station making money for the government while OSRC TV, with all monies pumped into it, has remained like a horse galloping away in a book, useless and making no financial return into the government purse. It's also confirmed that the ‘rebranded’ OSRC TV we watch at home is the work of excellent software guys showing what's not for us. I'm a frequent visitor to OSRC and I know better.
There's a serious allegation that the Interim Chairman of OSRC and OrangeFM, Mr ‘Kunle Adebayo, was dismissed from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo on crimes of rape. He was alleged to have committed the crime, relieved of his job and had to change his name from ‘Kunle Ogunwale to ‘Kunle Adebayo. Someone of such questionable and flawed character shouldn't handle the media houses of the good people of Ondo State. Or what do we tell our children when we grow up? That a serial rapist once headed OSRC?
And while hundreds of competent, qualified, professional hands of Ondo State are ready to move the stations forward, ‘Kunle Adebayo, from Osun State(or the State of Osun like the former governor wanted) heads our OSRC. It's unacceptable, unwise and unreasonable. Ondo state is blessed with media gurus that could turn the fates of OSRC around in no time. Would Arakunrin Akeredolu overlook this? Would he retrieve our media houses from him and hand it back to the professionals who wouldn't toy with the standard of the stations? Why would Arakunrin Akeredolu allow an outside destroy our heritage?
About the standards, I have stopped listening to most of the programs shoved down our throats by OrangeFM. That station is dying. The programs are losing followers. The station's rating is getting lower. The equipment are becoming outdated. The other day, I was on a program for an hour and sweated all through. The AC wasn't working and I had to make do with a paper to fan. In the 21st century? A radio station with the studio heating up?
There's also an allegation that Mr Kunle Adebayo collects monies from OSRC and OrangeFM for workshops and seminars only to sit at home and wine and dine away with our money. I saw a mighty mansion he’s allegedly building at the Ijapo Extension of Akure. This edifice could only be erected by one who wasn’t a landlord few months ago but just had access to some slush funds. He has also been accused of suffocating and stifling staff members with opposing views and opinions to his autocracy and highhandedness.
The straw that broke the camel's back was the allegation I read this evening against him by a group accusing him of using OrangeFM for some political programmes without remitting the millions of naira to the coffers of the station. I remember Arakunrin Akeredolu made a pronouncement that state-owned media houses must not be used for free by candidates and aspirants from his own party. This prompted this long epistle and I'm committed to seeing it to the end.
Arakunrin Akeredolu, for his own good, must do the needful by revamping our dying OSRC and set us back on the right path by:
Setting up a Panel of Enquiries to investigate these weighty allegations;
Relieving Mr. ‘Kunle Adebayo of his duties pending the reports from the panel;
Bringing back our beloved and upgraded 96.5fm;
Separating these three stations by appointing substantive General Managers for each of them. OSRC TV, OSRC 96.5FM and Orange 94.5FM;
Reviewing all the anti-worker policies that have dampened the morale of the staff.
Arakunrin Akeredolu must, in earnest, save our dying heritage as we would leave no stone unturned to retrieve the lovely stations from the bad manager of men and our media houses.

A gloomy present fact stares at us. Whereas history bequeathed a J & K pickle , domestic politics kicks in a Jammu logjam as well .
BJP’s ‘ Beauty and the Beast’ betrothal to PDP hoisted the saffron flag in Srinagar but did not have the same fairy tale ending. It was as ephemeral as Elizabeth Taylor’s  seven wedlocks. Neither could it quell militancy-pelleting, bulleting and cross-border surgical strike muscularity notwithstanding , nor win the heart and mind of Kashmiris. In its short-lived existence it notched up some dubious firsts - use of a muslim as a human shield by the army, letting ISI into Pathankot airbase to investigate without a reciprocal permit for Indian agencies to do likewise into Pak terror camps, longest ever curfew in the valley, the strange spectacle of ruling party legislators and party men protesting arrest of alleged Kathua rapists by its own government, surge in home bred militancy and ceasefire violations, a total lack of political initiatives or dialogue to abate militancy, appointment of an unseen and unheard interlocutor, and not the least of all , reignition of virulent militancy in the valley. No tears will be shed over its untimely demise. Deservedly it ended ignominiously, so did subsequent dalliances between even more unnatural partners to  cobble up a majority.
However the moot point is , why political parties bitten by power lust unable to forge subsisting fruitful political relationships ? The changing texture of electoral politics in recent times has the answers. Under the sway of Sangh’s polarising weltanschauung assembly polls in Dec 2014 emboweled Hindu votes in BJP ( of the 25 Hindu dominated seats, all of it in Jammu region, BJP won 22 ) and the muslim ones in PDP/NC/INC ; a scenario starkly reminiscent of the 1945 voting pattern for central legislative assembly where congress won 91% of votes in non-Mohammedan seats, Muslim League over 86% in muslim seats.Today, while Hindu Jammu is lustrously saffron coated, ‘secular’ parties are acquiring deeper shades of  green. That is the unmistakeable story emerging from the last  three assembly elections over the past 18 years.
The state has four distinct electoral colleges - Jammu (Hindu dominated)-25 seats , Jammu (Muslim dominated) 12 seats , Kashmir (only Muslim now) 46 seats and Ladakh (Buddhist and Muslim) 4 seats. Let’s ignore the last two - Kashmir ,here seats shift only between INC/NC/PDP,( BJP has a meagre vote share of less than 3%) and Ladakh with four seats doesn’t really count. The electoral data firmly point to growing alienation of moderate muslim voters from BJP+ (BJP+JKPP) and increasing marginalisation or irrelevance ,whatever, of INC+ (INC/NC/PDP) to Hindu voters. While BJP+ has spiralled upwards from 5 to 22 seats in Hindu Jammu, INC+ has nosedived to 3 from 17.

Maharaja Hari Singh by dithering on accession to the Indian union sucked it into a J&K problem - illegal occupation of a third of its area by Pak and questions about legitimacy of India’s soveignty over J&K. But so long as Sheikh Abdullah’s stars lighted the state’s political firmament, J&K had a semblance of political cohesion. His appeal cut across territorial and religious divides. Notwithstanding Pak sponsored militancy state parties singly or in alliances won a fair smattering of seats across territories making governments of the day fairly representative of moderate opinions. Over time greater participation in the electoral process bolstered legitimacy of elected governments. Now sporadic cries of Azadi in the valley are interspersed with whispers of balkanisation on territorial and religious lines, making J&K a state look more like one welded in only by force.
To the ‘external’ boil , Kashmir issue, festering on the body politic of South Asia is added a ‘Jammu problem’, Hindu exclusivity foisted in a predominantly muslim state , for like it or not J&K is 70% muslim. If secular parties are pilloried for muslim appeasement in ‘Hindu’ India , BJP is no saint, it is equally culpable of Hindu appeasement in the only ‘Muslim’ India.
Pursuit of Identity politics buries all hopes of ‘Kashmiriyat, Jamhooriyat and Insaniyat’ taking fresh roots. What the recent developments fortell is that J&K isn’t governable sporting  a Hindu diadem and chanting Ram. A ‘love jihad’ist outlook brooks no ‘unnatural’ marraiges. To govern Kashmir with any modicum of legitimacy one needs embed the soul of Ram-Rahim within. Only then will militancy suffer exsanguination. The nation can ill-afford a ‘Jammu problem’ sinking J&K deeper into political morass.
