I walk in to my apartment, my dark hair wet from the pounding rain outside. I put my bag down on the ground and walk to my bedroom, where I find my boyfriend, James, playing video games at his setup that he insisted we have. He's got his headphones on, ones with cat ears that I told him were childish, but he wanted them because they light up, one of his ears are uncovered so he hears me close the door.
"Hi, babe," I walk over to him and put my hand on the back of his head, leaning down to softly kiss him. The sound of his controller clacking is soothing to me.
"Hello, darling. How was school?" I sit on a bean bag chair.
"Very boring, very lonely."
"I keep telling you to make more friends, Pandora can't be around forever." I roll my eyes, Barty and Evan dropped out of our college within four weeks of being there.
"I know," I run a hand through my hair, pulling it away from my face. "What are you playing?" I look at his screen.
"Don't know. Some weird zombie killing game Sirius wanted to play," He clicks something on the screen and goes back to the controller.
"Hm," I shrug. "I'm gonna go take a shower." I stand up and kiss his head, then grab clothes. I take a long, hot shower, dry my hair and go back to my room.
"Feeling better?" James asks, turning to look at me.
"I guess," I sit on the floor next to him.
"Don't sit on the floor, darling, you're all clean. Come up here." James grabs my hand and pulls me up to sit on his lap, so I'm facing away from the screen.
"Who are you talking to?" I hear my brother's voice through James' headphones.
"Regulus," James answers, both his arms around me, he continues to play his game.
"Tell him I say hi."
"I can hear you, Sirius." I say, loud enough for James' microphone to pick up.
"We should chill soon," Sirius says, I can hear Remus in the background, complaining about one of his essays, also in college.
"Sure," James answers for me as I cuddle farther into his neck skin. "You're warm." He says, laying his head on top of mine.
"Makes sense, I'm not cold blooded, dear."
"What did I do to deserve such a smart boyfriend?" He laughs.
"Common sense and intelligence are different."
"Someone's tired, hm? You usually feed into my flirting."
"Aye! That's my baby brother your talking to, Potter!"
"He's in college, Sirius! Not a baby!"
"I don't care! If you had a brother, I wouldn't-!" I reach over to James' mouse and hang up on my brother.
"That was mean," James takes a hand off his controller and rubs it down my spine.
"He's annoying." I can feel James' smile.
"And you're mean."
"Don't care."
"Text Sirius for me and tell him you hung up on him, he won't be mad at you," I reach over to James' phone.
"Put in your password," I hand it to him, he pushes it away.
"The code is our anniversary," He says, I just stare at his face. When he realizes I'm staring, he looks at me and laughs a little. "You okay, m'love?" I look back down at the phone, a picture of me from when we got our flat is his background, I smile a little.
"Um, yeah," I punch in the numbers 10.3.80. It actually unlocks. "Oh."
"What? Is something wrong?" James asks, moving a piece of my hair out of my face.
"Nothing. Everything's perfect, darling." I lay back on him, my hands wrapped around his neck so I can still see his phone.
I text my brother.
This is Reg. Sirius, I promise, you don't have to worry about James hurting me. He loves me. I love him. So much. PS I hung up on you, he didn't. Stop being annoying. kisses hugs.
I shut off his phone and put it next to his keyboard.
"You wanna go to bed?" James asks, I turn to look out the window, and then look at the time on James' desktop screen.
7:30pm.
"Do you want to?" I ask, looking at his face.
"If you want to."
"James, that's not a answer."
"Alright, let's go," James closes out of all his tabs and picks me up.
"I can walk, J." I say, but I don't pull away.
"Grab my phone, will you?" He ignores, I nod, and lean back to pick up his phone off the desk. "Thank you, lovely," James holds me, one hand on my back and one on my butt. He sets me down on our bed and I crawl to my side. The right side. I always have the right side, when me and James first moved in together he fought with me over it. I won, obviously.
"Did you learn anything today?" He asks, plugging his phone into its charger.
"No," I say, folding the blanket over my body.
"Oh, you did too. You know what they say?"
"No, what do they say?"
"You learn something new everyday." James smiles and lays next to me.
"I learned that you saved that picture of me from last year when we first got the flat after I told you to delete it." I raise a eyebrow.
"Well, you look so cute in it." James puts an arm around my stomach and lays half on me, his head on my chest.
"Well, you told me you deleted it." I put a hand in his hair.
"I lied."
"Thanks for telling me."
"You're welcome." I smile, happy and content.
