“The Call” Backstreet Boys

“You’re okay?”

She smiled, balancing the phone on her shoulder as she sat on the white kitchen countertop. “I am the alright, Richard,” Kori assured kicking her feet as she watched the man in front of her at the stove. “I am with my group for the studying.”

“Do you need me to come pick you up in a couple of hours?”

“No,” Kori answered, inhaling the aroma of the meal Jason prepared. She leaned forward trying to sneak a glance of the food. “I will take the subway when I have finished.” She hoped there were going to be fries with that chicken.

“I don’t think-“

“I am capable of defending myself you know,” she reminded her boyfriend with a teasing tone. “But, I will probably do the crashing on my classmate Laura’s. We have a lot to go over tonight.”

Jason smirked. They did indeed.

Dick’s laugh was warm in her ear. “You could always fly back to the Tower.”

“Yes,” she admitted, staring at his butt mischievously.

Jason turned to face the redhead, raising a curious brow in her direction. “What?” He mouthed in her direction.

“But, the normal college human doesn’t fly,” Kori reasoned, raising one of her legs at the thief. She delicately pointed her toe and gently nudged Jason’s backside.

Jason laughed silently, propping a lid on the pot. He walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist as he placed a teasing kiss to her neck.

“Fair,” Dick sighed. “Be careful and study hard.”

“I shall,” Kori chirped happily as she swallowed a delighted gasp. “I love you.”

“Love you too, Kori.”

“I love you more,” Jason grinned, burying his nose in her hair as she hung up the phone. His hands tightened around her waist as he pulled her closer to him.

Kori laughed happily. Her legs tangled around his waist as her arms looped around his neck. “It is not the competition, Jason.” Her fingers curled up to the back of head, playing with hair.

He chuckled, pulling back to brush his nose against hers as he placed a gentle kiss against her lips. “You staying the night tonight?”

“I think so,” she murmured, fingers tangling in his hair. “I am feeling the guilt though.”

“We should talk to him.”

Kori sighed heavily, feeling his thumbs tracing smoothing circles. “I do not believe he is ready,” she bit her lip thoughtfully. “Richard is-“

“A prude,” Jason chuckled.

“He is not a piece of food.”

“That’s prune, dear,” he corrected, placing a sweet kiss to her cheek. “Prude is,” Jason paused for a moment trying to think about how to explain this to her. “Someone who is very modest. Conservative,” he explained with a smirk. “Not me.”

She nodded, “I think he would surprise you.”

“I’m hoping so,” he admitted. “Have you thought about what you’d do if he wasn’t interested in being with us?”

Kori shrugged stiffly feeling her mouth twist in a frown. “No,” she confessed. “I can not imagine him not wanting to be with two incredibly attractive people,” she beamed.

“I don’t think Richard finds me attractive.”

“I don’t understand why he wouldn’t,” she confessed, tracing the planes of his face. “You’re gorgeous, my love, on your sides of in and the sides of out.”

“Are you sure about that?” Jason laughed devilishly.

“You are an excellent male human specimen” she nodded surely.

Jason chuckled, “I’m flattered, Solnyshko.”

“And, I believe that if Richard looks beyond you being a criminal, he will love you,” Kori smiled, placing a gentle hand against his cheek. “You are in love with him correct? You are not just doing this for me?”

“Even though I would steal the moon from the sky if you requested it,” he answered with a grin.

Kori swatted his shoulder playfully as she giggled.

“I can honestly say I’m attracted to Dick,” Jason smothered a smirk at his play on words. “Granted, it took you to help see past his anal retentive bull headedness…”

“I like to think it’s part of his charm.” She always thought Richard’s structure would be a perfect balance to their chaos.

He shrugged. “I guess,” he relented. “Thank god for that ass though.”

Kori hummed with approval. “Agreed.”
