bts of miranda filming on location today! there’s three options for a stellaride baby at this point.
1) there’s no stellaride baby announcement and andrea was messing with us
2) there’s still a potential pregnancy announcement and this scene is before stella finds out she’s pregnant
3) stella knows she’s pregnant but is still working on truck.
really hope it’s not the last one because i don’t think it’s realistic to say that you be a firefighter while pregnant.
it any case, this is why i’ve been convincing myself a stellaride baby won’t happen in the finale, cause it’ll hurt less when is doesn’t happen. and just going based on this picture alone, it kind of feels like she won’t be pregnant.

woke up from my nap to that interview from andrea😭😭😭😭😭😭 stellaride baby canon! GUYS! do you know how much content we can get? Stella finding out she’s pregnant, Kelly finding out Stella is pregnant, all the pregnancy related storylines (i’m thinking of Greys anatomy- imagine cranky Stella and Kelly has to calm her down/manage her moods), then birth, them being ACTUAL parents??? It’s too much for me, I am OVERHWHELMED AGHHHH! Season 12 is genuinely revolutionary! I cannot wait! I just hope (since I’m guessing the reveal is season finale) they don’t skip like too too much of the pregnancy because i’m almost as excited for that as for the actual baby! losing my shit

this is so stupid and honestly not important whatsoever but i just realized that if stellaride name their daughter elizabeth with the nickname lizzy, then she would have the same first name as the new medic, lizzy novak. which would throw me off if we also call the new medic by her first name and not her last.

she's her daddy's girl, her momma's world - chapter 35
Tumblr media
make it go away (part two)
Maya’s still sick, her parents are still worried, and their fire fam is the best.
Read on AO3 or below
Twenty-four hours later and things with Maya had gone from bad to worse, just like Dr. Michaels had warned. Maya was still struggling with her breathing and had been bumped from 3Ls of oxygen up to 5Ls. After a few failed feeding attempts, where Maya’s oxygen stats dropped way too low, the baby had a feeding tube placed and Stella made the switch to pumping. It wasn’t a pleasurable experience for either of them.
Maya’s fever broke a few hours after they arrived at the hospital, which was the only thing going in their favor thus far.
Maya was uncomfortable and fussy with the IV in her arm and the oxygen cannula and feeding tube taped on her face. Despite only being two months old, Maya knew she was in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar things, and she did not like it. The only way she’d sleep or calm was in her parents’ arms, meaning Kelly and Stella were as exhausted as Maya was.
They took turns; one would hold Maya so she could rest and sleep while the other would be free to walk around and stretch their legs, grab some coffee or something to eat, and go to the bathroom. Neither Kelly nor Stella ventured too far away from Maya’s room though, not after the infant had knocked one of her monitors off, causing an alarm to sound. Everything was fine but the incident terrified Kelly and Stella enough to not want to be too far away from Maya.
Natalie, April, and the rest of their friends from Med popped up to the PICU to check on the Severides. Maya perked up at the newcomers and the attention they gave her and Kelly and Stella appreciated the coffee and snacks they brought with them. April even stayed after her shift ended and sat with Maya so Kelly and Stella could go down to the hospital cafeteria and get some semi-decent food. They weren’t gone for long, despite April telling them to take their time.
Sleep was a foreign concept that night. Kelly and Stella took turns, alternating between sitting with Maya in the chair by her bed and sleeping on the pull-out couch, but between their worry, the uncomfortable furniture, nurses coming in and out at all hours, and Stella’s pumping schedule no one got any decent rest.
When Maya’s oxygen got bumped up, any hope of sleep was dashed.
Casey, Brett, Boden, and a few others from 51 checked in every few hours. Kelly and Stella gave them updates and even sent a picture or two. If the texts weren’t enough indication as to how badly Kelly and Stella were struggling with Maya being sick, their faces (and the bags under their eyes) when they answered one of Brett’s FaceTime calls left no doubt.
As Maya’s godmother and Stella’s best friend, Brett hated seeing the people she loved sick and struggling. She wanted to help them in any way she could, so she hatched a plan. Casey, Violet, and the rest of second shift were roped in throughout the day but no one complained; they all cared for and were worried about Maya and her parents. Everyone had their assignments and by the time their shift was over, they all went their separate ways with a plan to meet at the hospital in an hour.
                                                     … … …
Maya had just received her morning feeding and made her way back into Kelly’s arms when there was a knock on the door. Kelly and Stella looked up and there in the doorway were their friends and teammates, armed with bags and what looked like the entire gift shop.
“Hey,” Stella said, rising from her chair. “What are you guys doing here?”
“We just wanted to stop by, make sure you all were doing OK,” Boden announced as the members of 51 started to cram into the hospital room. While they had all showered and changed clothes since their shift ended, they all wanted to keep a safe distance from the sick baby.
“I didn’t know what all you guys had here, so Matt and I stopped by the loft and grabbed some stuff,” Brett shared, placing the duffle bag she was carrying next to the pull-out couch. “And Cruz and Chloe grabbed some decent breakfast and coffee for you.”
Sure enough, Cruz and Chloe made it into the room, to-go containers and coffee cups in their hands. They sat everything down on the roll-away table in the corner.
Tears welled in Stella’s eyes. “Thank you guys so much.”
“Of course,” Brett cooed, wrapping an arm around Stella’s shoulders and giving her a comforting hug.
A small raspy cough directed everyone’s attention to the infant in Kelly’s arms. He rubbed her back and adjusted his hold on her as she continued to cough. When Maya was finished coughing, she let out a tired, wheezing sigh and blinked her weary eyes.
It was an equally sad and adorable sight.
“How’s she doing?” Casey asked, moving to Kelly’s side.
“She’s hanging in there,” Kelly said, smiling slightly as Maya snuggled closer at the sound of his voice. “She’s been fever free for almost 24 hours and the extra oxygen is helping.”
“They scheduled her for another chest x-ray later this morning,” Stella chimed in. “If her lungs are looking better, Dr. Michaels said they might try and lower her oxygen.”
“Any idea how long they’re going to keep Maya here?” Chloe asked, joining Brett at Stella’s side.
“At least a few more days,” Stella answered. “They need to get her completely off oxygen and make sure she can maintain her levels without help.”
A few more questions were asked, but everyone’s attention was soon diverted to Capp and Gallo who, rather unceremoniously, dropped their armfuls of gifts in the corner of the room. There were stuffed animals, balloons, a blanket, candy, and flowers…..way more than anyone needed, let alone a two-month-old.
Kelly raised an eyebrow. “Did you two leave anything in the gift shop for anyone else?”
“They would’ve bought more,” Tony started, an amused but annoyed smirk on his face. “But the manager kicked them out for causing a disturbance.”
“It was his fault!” Capp and Gallo said at the same time, pointing at each other.
That started an argument between the two. Although it brought some levity to the situation, Stella stepped in before things got too heated. “Guys, we appreciate the thought and the love but Maya’s two months old. I don’t think she needs any of this stuff.”
Capp and Gallo looked around at everything they’d bought. Sheepish smiles stretched across their faces, almost as if they just realized how overboard they’d gone.
Gallo shrugged. “Eh. Keep what you guys need and what you think Maya would like and donate the rest to the other kids and families on the floor.”
Stella and a few others huffed out a laugh before returning to their conversations.
Everyone stayed around for a little while longer until it was clear Maya was losing steam. They all said their goodbyes, leaving the baby and her parents to get some much-needed rest.
Brett and Casey were the last to leave, promising to swing by again later in the day. It was clear that Kelly and Stella were tired and frazzled and Brett and Casey hoped they’d be able to help. Their friends needed a break outside the four walls of Maya’s hospital room.
They weren’t expecting Kelly and Stella to spend the night at home, but they hoped they could at least get the anxious parents out of the hospital long enough to shower and eat actual food.
It wasn’t an easy task by any means, but Brett and Casey managed to convince them. They had arrived back at the hospital around dinnertime—Maya had just gotten a feeding, her stats were holding steady, and she was ready to sleep. It was a hard sell at first but after Maya showed she would happily sleep in Brett’s and Casey’s arms, Kelly and Stella finally agreed.
Despite the constant text updates and pictures sent, Stella and Kelly’s break only lasted a few hours. Brett and Casey hoped they would’ve been gone longer, but they had to admit the anxious parents looked a bit more refreshed.
                                             … … …
It was nearly 36 hours later when things changed again, this time for the better. An updated chest x-ray showed that Maya’s lungs had cleared, so the doctors started weaning her off the higher oxygen. They started slow, moving Maya down from 5Ls to 4Ls and monitoring her closely for several hours. When Maya passed all the tests with flying colors, she was moved down from 4Ls to three.
A few hours later and Maya was back down to 2Ls of oxygen and doing great.
Dr. Michaels kept Maya on 2Ls for a while, wanting to test and see if they could remove the feeding tube. They gave Maya a bottle first and Kelly, Stella, and Dr. Michaels had their attention glued to Maya’s oxygen stats—they held steady and strong. It was a big step in the right direction, but Dr. Michaels wasn’t ready to remove the tube yet. He wanted to see how Maya did with a few more feeds throughout the day.
Maya continued to excel with her feedings, both with the bottle and without, and by dinnertime that day, her feeding tube had been successfully removed.
As Maya got better, the spark returned to her eyes and she began smiling and giggling again. The stress and tension melted from Kelly and Stella and as Maya recovered, they allowed themselves to breathe again.
                                                … …  …
Four days after Maya was admitted to the hospital, she was being discharged. The doctors had no reservations about letting Maya go home. She was over the worst of the RSV and was back to her normal, happy self, but Kelly and Stella knew they’d be watching the two-month-old like a hawk for days and weeks to come.
The past four days had been the longest of Kelly’s and Stella’s lives and they were beyond ready to bring their little girl back home.
As they walked out of the hospital doors, Maya securely buckled into her car seat, memories from two months earlier flooded Kelly’s and Stella’s minds. Leaving the hospital with their newborn daughter and bringing her home for the first time had been one of the best moments of their lives and although this hospital homecoming was different from the last, it was no less special.
Maya was happy and healthy and their family was together. There was nothing more special than that.

We Are (A) Family 🩷
Chapter 11: Family Of Three
Baby girl Severide makes her debut.
Stella was wheeled into labour and delivery. A nurse guided her onto a bed, helping her change into a gown. Her contractions were becoming intense but still over six minutes apart. As she slowly climbed onto the bed, taking in deep breaths. Her plan was to not get a epidural. Stella had a high pain tolerance but she was re thinking that decision. Not knowing if Kelly was going to be able to be at her side. He was always able to ground her. Even feeling pain she knew he would get her through any discomfort and pain she might have. ‘I don’t need to be a hero’ she thought. The only thing that mattered to her was their baby girl delivered healthy and safely. Stella hated the thought of Kelly not being there. She knew it would break his heart to not be beside her when their daughter made her grand entrance. On the other hand, what mattered was him to be treated properly and his healing. There would be a million moments he would have with their daughter. Although, Stella quietly wishing more than anything be would be there. This was something they had planned. There was no way he would ever miss this. No one could imagine what he had been through these recent days.
Hanna. Dr. Asher came in a short while later. Nurse had hooked Stella up to a fetal monitor to make sure there was no complications and baby’s heart rate were normal.
“Hey there Stella. I’m going to do a assessment and see where we are at. Ok?”
Dr. Asher completed her exam.
“Ok Stella. You are 8cm dilated. It’s going to be a short while but moving along nicely. Baby’s heart rate looks great. No concerns. Try to deep breathe through the contractions. Unfortunately, we are past the point of being able to give you a epidural”
“Thank You. Kelly is being treated in ER. I know he’s ok. I want him here with me. But I want him to be stable enough to be here. Is there anyway you can check on his status? I need reassurance”
“Sure. No problem Stella”
“Is Violet still here?”
“Yes. She is just right outside”
“I would like her with me until Kelly can hopefully join”
“Of course. I will bring her in and will go check on Kelly right away”
“Thank you, Hanna. I mean Dr. Asher”
“Stella. Please call me Hanna”
Violet came in. Taking Stella’s hand in hers. Knowing Stella needed support.
“I’ve got you Stella. I’m sure Kelly will make it a point to be here. Until then, you get me for as long as you need”
“Thank you so much, Vi”
Kelly was nervously twitching in his bed. Looking up at his current IV bag. Hoping he would be set free and even in a wheelchair could be with Stella. He would prefer to walk himself but as long as he was with her when she brought their daughter into the world, that’s all that mattered to him. Boden was at his bedside. Next to Stella, there was no one else he wanted with him.
“Chief. I need to get out of this bed. I need to be with my wife. I can’t miss this moment”
Tears freely falling down his cheeks simultaneously.
“I know Severide. Just give it some time. You need to be strong for them. Stella needs all of you”
“I will never forgive myself. I will never get that back. Since the moment we found out she was pregnant. I promised her I would be there for everything. I would never disappoint them. I will never be Benny”
“Severide. You are NOT Benny. Do you realize how many moments you will have with your daughter? And Stella. You will show up for both of them forever. Stella knows that without a doubt”
Kelly and Boden saw the doctor and nurse conversing. Short while later coming to the foot of Kelly’s bed.
“Ok. Severide. Your vitals and fluid levels have improved. We hear you are about to become a dad. So, as long as you allow a nurse to escort you to your wife. Just for safety. In case you feel dizzy or lightheaded”
Boden had never seen a bigger smile on his squads leaders face than in that very moment.
Stella was going through a painful contraction. Violet was holding her hand and helping Stella deep breathe. Stella looked up and saw the most beautiful sight. There was her husband in a gown but standing and smiling.
Violet moved to the side, while Kelly beelined to Stella’s side. Interlocking his hand with hers.
“Kelly. You’re here. I have missed you, my handsome man”
“Baby. I have never seen a more beautiful sight. I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine how you must of felt. Im so sorry”
“Hey. Stop. This was not your fault. You’re here. That’s all that matters”
Stella feeling a intense contraction. Letting out a piercing screech.
Dr. Asher entered the room. Doing a quick exam.
“Ok Stella. We are ready. 10cm. You ready to meet your baby girl?”
Stella looking over towards her adoring husband. Kelly grasping her hand.
“You got this Stella Kidd. Let’s meet our daughter”
Stella nodding.
“Ok. Stella. I need one good push”
Stella gave all she had, pushing as hard as she could. Squeezing her husbands hand.
“Great job Stella. I can see her head. A couple more pushes and she will be here”
“Ready. Another push. 1-2-3. PUSH”
Stella exhausted. Slamming her head back against the pillow. Kelly rubbing his hand along her sweaty forehead.
“Stel. Your doing so good. So amazing. Your almost there. Home stretch baby”
Stella took in a deep breathe.
“Ok Stella. One more hard push”
Next thing Stella heard was a piercing cry. Their daughters cry. Nurse taking her over to the side. Placing her on weigh scale. Nurse swaddling baby in a warm blanket. Bringing her over and placing their little bundle of joy in Stella’s arms for the first time. Both Stella and Kelly crying.
“Stella. You are amazing. So strong. Look at her. She’s perfect. Gorgeous. Now I have two of the most beautiful girls”
Stella and Kelly found themselves silent for a few moments admiring their beautiful baby girl with her thick, dark hair.
“I can’t believe she’s finally here” whispering Stella.
“She’s perfect, Stel”
“Ok. Baby girl. I think it’s time your daddy holds you for the first time. What do you think?”
Stella gently handing their daughter to her daddy for the first time. Seeing Kelly become a dad, something she knew he had always wanted was priceless to her. Thinking of how great of a dad he is going to be. Knowing full well, only being on this earth for a few minutes already had her dad wrapped around her finger.
“This is the greatest moment of my life. You know aside from marrying you, my love”
“It’s ok, Kelly. She’s pretty damn perfect. She can be number one” Stella chuckling.
Kelly climbed into bed beside Stella. Their first moments as a family with their daughter.
51 family had gathered in waiting room. Anxiously awaiting news of the newest family member.
“Kelly take her and meet everyone. I’m too sore to come out with you. Have this moment and introduce our daughter to our family for the first time”
“That would be my pleasure”
“You are good with her name?”
“Her name is perfect. A strong name. She has a namesake of two of the most strong and fierce women both who had a lasting impact on both our lives”
“I agree, babe”
“We will be back soon”
“I’m good, Kelly. Let them enjoy her.”
Kelly made his way out to the waiting room, cradling his daughter in his arms. As all of 51 looked up. Gasps echoed through the room. There wasn’t a dry eye. Making his way closer.
“First, Stella is doing great. Tired and sore but so happy. She gave me the honours to introduce the newest member of our 51 family. Everyone I would like to present…”
“Shaelynn Gloria Severide. 6lbs of perfection. We will call her ‘Shae for short”
Stella and Kelly had wanted their daughter to have a name that meant something to both of them. ‘Shaelynn’ after Kelly’s departed best friend Leslie Shay. Who he knew would be so proud of how far he has come and would be the greatest Auntie. ‘Gloria’ named after DC Hill, who was always a mentor and a woman Stella felt inspired by since joining the academy. A woman of colour, climbing up the ranks with grace and determination.
Shae was passed around for everyone to hold and dote on. All her aunts and uncles. Seeing her in Papa Boden’s arms meant the world to Kelly. Boden always a father figure. Always in his corner. Never giving up on him even when it would of been easy too, especially in the early years. Years later also becoming that person for Stella as well. Kelly thinking Boden walking her down the aisle, giving her away to Kelly. He was everything to both of them.
Later, Kelly taking back his daughter. 51 family filing out of the waiting room.
“Ok. Baby girl. Let’s go back and see your mommy. I’m sure she’s missing you”
Stella admiringly looking up as she saw her husband and daughter come back into the room. Kelly placing her back in her mommy’s arms. Climbing into bed with his family. Shae falling asleep. Not far behind, Stella.
Kelly with one arm around his wife. Placing a kiss to Stella’s forehead and then gently to Shae’s tiny head. Everything that they had been through the past few days was a distant memory because his world was perfect.
“Goodnight my beautiful girls. I love you both to the moon and back”
Kelly now falling asleep. He was still sore and healing. But what he was feeling now…The events of recent days meant nothing now. He had everything he ever wanted. His family. He was the luckiest man not only in Chicago. In the world. Nothing he had or could ever go through would compare to the happiness and joy he was feeling.

thinking about 12x06 and 12x08 and how good they were! even 12x01 and the subtle flirting in 12x02, and the goodbye scene in 12x03, like the Stellaride moments we have gotten have been so excellent, if the season keeps it up it could be top 2 or three, ESPECIALLY if there’s a baby reveal!

Are they foreshadowing a Stellaride baby soon?

*Since Kelly stated in the Infection crossover that he plans to have a family with Stella in the future, I think they should start planning that soon
