I'm pretty sure husk just doesn't like being publicly affectionate? its been heavily implied through various media that he has an interest in angel, but doesn't like other people seeing it. But we'll have to wait for the show to see more, judging the pairing as toxic at this point seems really silly, especially when we know these characters are going to develop a lot over the series.

Personally my money is on them quickly hooking up for fun before feelings get involved - and we will get to see an enthusiastic husk at this point, when other people are not around. Obviously we don't know anything for sure yet, but I do have some evidence for this being the direction they're going with, and I hope that will help you enjoy the relationship more.

After today’s fiasco, I do not know if this is to be taken backhandedly or not. However, I have seen and acknowledged both sides, as well as both sides looking too deep or not deep enough.

Read my HuskerDust focused post (not the joke one that was not only taken far too far, but has resulting in a lot of hate coming my way, highlighting just how toxic the fan base is) for most of my take plus the very personal reasons as to why as well as the science behind ships like this. I dislike having to repeat that a ship that starts with a negative stereotype against gay men plus sexual harassment and other red flags isnt a very healthy portrayal.

Let me remind everyone who sees this that I do not go out of my way to anon or attack those with other beliefs. I post mine, I respond to mine, and I respond to other criticals who are available for a healthy and mature discussion. Over a simple bit of humour between friends, I have received negativity, harassment and bullying. Yet the fandom still insists on focusing and putting fictional lives above those who are real with real experiences as well as real harassment. Not once has anyone actually acknowledged the aggression sent my way, but rather have fuelled it. Why are these individuals putting an active hate and divide within their own fan base? It’s like agreeing to disagree isn’t an option. That one can’t speak up based on experience without being shut down. It is cruel and childish. Though I shouldn’t be surprised that a fictional character comes before real lives.

There are points I could debate in your comment, such as the starting of such a relationship not being the most healthiest (it’s a roll of the dice when relationships start that way, and this isn’t including the dangers backed up by science on two addicts being together), however I’m extremely exhausted from the bombardment of cowardly hatred. Do you folks really want to show your fandom off this toxic?

As for you, Anon, I’m guessing you disagree but are a more agreeable fan (in the sense that you’re open/accepting in differences of stance). Forgive me if that’s wrong, but it’s the impression I get. And if I’m right, I do appreciate that as well as the sentiment, however I would feel incredibly uncomfortable being pushed to like a ship that I have numerous reasons to disagree with. But again, I do thank you for the thoughts.

Before I sum this up, I also want to make it deeply clear before any stans or antis jump the homophobic gun - I am not. I support Chaggie however even that gets shat on by the team and fans. There’s far too much focus on sex and shipping in the fandom and team and very little thought into plot. There are many posts that point this out. It is up to you to seek them out.

Though I know you don’t intend to force ships onto others, the last part does come across as such. 95% of tv shows are american and the remaining 5% are british. Why can't you let us have this. Is it really that weird that we get offended when americans who can't stand things not being about them rub their hands all over our culture and take one of the few things that is ours. If you want to americanize ml in your fics, be my guest (no sarcasm here) but don't tell us we shouldn't be offended by it.

Your words would hold more weight off anon. Clearly you’ve misunderstood my intentions, but since we’re pointing fingers and naming calling, yeah, I’m not sure I care. I do my best to research things when I write fic and make it as accurate as possible, but somethings are silly and fun, and if it’s something canon does regardless of whether it happens irl then I’m sorry if I don’t feel like it’s wrong to include it? Are you going to throw stones at the show for Americanizing? There are some things that are a little ridiculous in fics that people do (i.e. dollars instead of euros, take out, etc) that are totally apparent that they didn’t do research/don’t remember where the show takes place. There are also some things that are miniscule? I’m not saying we should move the show to America and make everything in it American? Just that if canon does something it’s alright for fanfic authors to do it too? I love the fact that the show is wildly popular and set in a place and culture we don’t normally get to see. It allows people to learn about and appreciate a new culture they otherwise may never have considered. As I said, I spend a long time when I write fics looking up the smallest, stupidest details that in the long run probably don’t matter (Whether or not a bell rings in schools) so that I can be as “accurate” as possible. You clearly don’t know anything about me and have probably never read anything that I’ve written and “rubbed my American hands all over” in order to know that. And you’ve never bothered to come to me civilly and discuss it either. So next time you think about leaving cowardly and unnecessary anonymous hate on someone’s blog, maybe reflect on yourself and consider whether you can just message them and see if you can discuss it like mature, rational people. I was not intending to be disrespectful and tbh I wasn’t even upset or angry? Just pointing something out that I noticed that canon did despite the fact that it’s not a thing irl? So you can either stay butthurt or you can message me off anon and talk to me like a human being, and I’ll be happy to do the same with you. I love civil discussions. But whatever you decide, won’t hurt my feelings either way.
