“I am learning!” Only the meager ball of light in Nel’s palms rivaled the illumination of the smile across his face. He looked up at Hex, the magic’s glow glistening off the vibrant yellow of his eyes that embodied all the more his rising glee when he spoke.

“I never thought I could. I felt so--dumb and hopeless. And now I feel anything--anything other than that.” His brow knit upward. The light in Nel’s hands shut out for Nel to throw his arms around Hex and lay a kiss on his lips. When the other returned his kiss, Nel hugged his waist. He came away, wearing the same bright smile. 

“Thank you. Thank you so much.”

    “ i’m only here to talk, i don’t want to fight you. i will answer all of your questions, i will do anything to prove myself to you. just please, do not do something you will regret. ”

Is he working late? Yes. Has he slept at all in the past three days? Absolutely not.

He was eagerly combing through whatever books he could get his hands on in his boyfriend’s library. There was simply so much to behold-- and Ford couldn’t help himself. He took to reading the tomes like a fish to water. Honestly he’d lost track of time, stopping only to take notes here and there-- cross-referencing things across different books.

Ford was no stranger to nights without rest-- but he was far older now than before-- and he even looked exhausted. Unfortunately, he couldn’t find a good enough place to stop. He kept telling himself-- one more page. One more page.

Just one more.

    well-- they weren’t exactly expecting to be called out like this. they simply stared up at the magician, pointing at their own throat as to indicate that they could not speak. they did however, raise their hands and sign a few words, questioning the elder man if they knew how to sign too.

Okay so lately she hasn’t been doing so hot. Scheming? Not much. Planning a dastardly plan to gain power? Nope. For the first time, she didn’t lash out at her uncle, or even bothered to swat his hand away. She was tired. Lost. Unsure over what she can do in life now.
