#if you're asking what sparked this post #i was looking at old family pics on my usb #and seeing my dad trying to navigate a waterpark alongside his brother and his wife with their twin 1 y/o boys #my mom and her sister with her 3 daughters one of which was 3 months old #and then my mom's brother's son #on top of my parents trying to keep their own three kids together #it makes me laugh thinking about the struggle they must have gone through #masaomi should have experienced that #he needs to know the struggle of making sure your kid is not lost or drowning or both #also those shitty inflated waterpark prices for food #and also his kid heckling him for money to try winning prizes at the game booths #and then eventually dealing with his kid crying on the way out of the park because he doesn't want to go home #he missed out on a key element of dad lore #a travesty #kuroko no basket #akashi masaomi

the papas + copia going to a fair/carnival/festival with their s/o and playing the games (like throwing darts at balloons, throwing baseballs are soda cans, those kind of games) and winning a stuffed animal for their s/o ? This would be so adorable it hurts.

Papa I: old man thinks games are a waste of time and money, the real fun is in biggest fastest ride he can possibly find (doesnt he need like a doctors clearance to do stuff like this???? is his heart good enough??) this usually composed man is smiling like a kid and having more fun than the real children. wins you a stuffed animal of your choice on the first try, no big deal. waves it in iii’s face. 

Papa II:  do you know how many types of food they have at carnivals? so many.  things the regular man could never dream of concocting. II takes a tour of all the food stands before you manage to drag him away back to the rides. even a first time carnival goer knows that you shouldnt eat all the sugar before going on the tilt-a-whirl. apparently ii did not. he starts feeling nasious half way through the day and you have to take some time to sit in the shade with him, drink some water, and chill out for a little bit. when you offer to take him home he refuses, because he “only came here for you” and doesnt want to ruin your day. until you leave, he sits out the bigger rides, but promises he has an even bigger better ride for you waiting at home

Papa III: big “i came here for an instagram picture and im not leaving without one” energy. will take cute candids of you all day and expects you to the do the same. also will try and win you a teddy bear at the first game he sees (if you dont drag him away before he spends all his money he might burst). has to go on every ride at least once, probably heckles the clowns, not a great person to take to a carnival but he’s cute so ya know its a win some lose some situation. at the end of the day you have to tuck him in because he got so worked up over the day he’s getting tired and cranky. probably have to make him some warm milk with honey. “the sun really toothank k it out of me” he says. Sure it did, papa.

Copia: whatever you want to do, he wants to do. Biggest ride? he’s already strapped in. only play games? hes ready to win you the best prize. want to try every single food you can possibly purchase? he’s waiting in line for you while you sit in the shade at a picnic table sipping lemonade. kind of revolted by the amount of children around. also probably gets motion sick but knows himself well enough that when he starts to feel sick he opts out so he wont get too ill. papa ii should have known this about himself. probably copia is the best sport about everything, unarguably the best to take to a carnival

Judith Fun Fact: carnivals and amusement are my favorite place on earth. like ever. i could not be happier than i am walking around disney with my boyfriend eating cotton candy wearing minnie ears and riding all the kids rides (i know, im soooooo metal)
