Emily Greenwood, Professor of the Classics and Comparative Literature, Department of Classics Harvard University  

Emily Greenwood’s research spans ancient Greek literature (especially historiography), classical reception studies, translation studies, intellectual history, postcolonial studies, and Black Studies. She has published two books: Afro-Greeks: Dialogues Between Anglophone Caribbean Literature and Classics in the Twentieth Century (2010), joint winner of the 2011 Runciman Award, and Thucydides and the Shaping of History (2006). She has also co-edited two volumes, Homer in the Twentieth Century: Between World Literature and the Western Canon (co-edited with Barbara Graziosi), and Reading Herodotus: A Study of the Logoi in Book 5 of Herodotus’ Histories (co-edited with Elizabeth Irwin). Her current book project, Black Classicisms and the Expansion of the Western Classical Tradition, explores the critical difference that local and transnational black traditions of interpreting Greek and Roman classics make to existing conceptions of the Western classical tradition and Classics as a node for black internationalism. She is also guest editor for a two-volume special issue of the American Journal of Philology on the theme of “Diversifying Classical Philology”.

What the heck??? Ben Shapiro's wife is a racist? A morrocan jew? A doctor, who presumably helps all races? All women who support trump are racists, evil beings? Are you well Theodora? Have you really gone that far left that you can't see people dor people. With good and bad things. Chas vasholom

So many points I have to address here:

1) I did try to to cross-check if Shapiro´s wife has ever made any racist statements and apparantly  she has said that ”women getting aroused/wet is abnormal” and bragged about herself not being aroused, a statement that, inductively, shames female desire. Here is Shapiro´s thread on twitter and some outlets reproducing the news:https://www.ccn.com/ben-shapiro-wife-dap-brag-self-own/ . Caveat: Shapiro transferred his “doctor wife´s” words ( I guess mentioning her name as a medical scientist´s opinion didn´t cross his mind, tbh I´m surprised he didn´t add *female* doctor). So yes, her voice isn´t represented anywhere and I have no other clues about her. I did think about the accuracy of that specific part of the post before reblogging  but I decided to do so because Shapiro´s wife is the tree, while the forest- which you can´t or do not want to see is

2) the main objective of the post: to remind people that racism and patriarchy are  intertwined forms of oppression and belonging to an underprivileged group (women) is by no means an ontological apodeixis of you not being an oppressor/engaging in or justifying systemic oppression. That is what op wants to communicate here, not attack ad hominem the Shapiros per se- I am completing a philology degree so I think I´m somewhat able to interpret the meaning/message of a text for myself, and stand up to my opinion. 

3) Jews and Moroccans and Moroccan Jews can theoretically be racist, just as any individual. Maybe racism isn´t the right word as it applies to specific sociocultural contexts and they are definitely not racist in the way a white supremacist is. But prejudiced (a better word), they can be. 

4) You wrote  it yourself: “presumably”. Any search in the like of “bias in the medical field” will enlighten you. 

5) Not all women who support Trump are racist, evil beings, but they choose to support with their votes/money/publicity a person who is. Hence, by choosing to align with him they support his views. Politics is mainly a field of results, not intentions- I thought right winged people were rational  and facts-over-feelings-enough to see that?

6) On the left nonsense and the salvation of my soul:  Αgain, in a political and historical spectrum people are not  “just people with good or bad things” but individuals who have their share in shaping the future and should be held accountable for their choices, and criticized if said choices deprive the rights of others.

Αυτή λοιπόν τη διπλή στήριξη και των ανθρώπων που ζουν στη Μόρια αλλά κυρίως της τοπικής κοινωνίας είναι κάτι που πρέπει να μας κάνει όλους χαρούμενους μέσα στις δύσκολες συνθήκες που καλούμαστε να ζήσουμε και ιδιαίτερα στις συνθήκες της πανδημίας που δεν ξέρουμε τι μας φέρνουν κάθε μέρα. Αυτό είναι κάτι που πραγματικά με χαροποιεί και ελπίζω να το αντιληφθούν όλοι με αυτήν την έννοια κατέληξε η Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας, σχολιάζοντας με τον τρόπο αυτό αντιδράσεις ομάδας κατοίκων του χωριού της Μόριας που αποπειράθηκαν να μην επιτρέψουν την είσοδο της αποστολής στην υγειονομική δομή. Η νέα υγειονομική μονάδα Η νέα υγειονομική μονάδα του Κέντρου Υποδοχής και Ταυτοποίησης της Μόριας θα είναι 24ωρης λειτουργίας. Η μονάδα είναι συνολικής επιφάνειας 450 τετραγωνικών μέτρων και συνολικής χωρητικότητας 62 κλινών. Ειδικότερα, αποτελείται από δύο χώρους με 26 κρεβάτια ο καθένας, μια Μονάδα Αυξημένης Φροντίδας με έξι κρεβάτια και μια Μονάδα Εντατικής Θεραπείας τεσσάρων κλινών. Δημιουργήθηκε με χρηματοδότηση της Ολλανδικής κυβέρνησης, υπό την αιγίδα του Υπουργείου Μετανάστευσης και Ασύλου και τον συντονισμό της Γενικής Γραμματείας Υποδοχής Αιτούντων Άσυλο και της Τεχνικής Υπηρεσίας του υπουργείου. Πρόκειται για μια κινητή κατασκευή από αίθουσες, οι οποίες συνδέονται μεταξύ τους δημιουργώντας ένα σύστημα που λειτουργεί ως μια σύγχρονη αυτόνομη υγειονομική μονάδα. Η όλη κατασκευή εδράζεται σε χώρο δίπλα στο ΚΥΤ Μόριας, κατάλληλα διαμορφωμένο από το Υπουργείο Εθνικής ‘Αμυνας και τον Ελληνικό Στρατό. Η νέα υγειονομική μονάδα στελεχώνεται από γιατρούς και νοσηλευτικό προσωπικό του Υπουργείου Υγείας δια του ΕΟΔΥ καθώς και από προσωπικό συνεργαζόμενων Μη Κυβερνητικών Οργανώσεων.

Είσοδος στην Ελλάδα μόνο με απόδειξη συμπλήρωσης της ηλεκτρονικής φόρμας PLF Έγκυρη φόρμα PLF, με κωδικό QR, θεωρείται αναγκαία για την είσοδο σε κάθε πύλη εισόδου της χώρας   H απόδειξη συμπλήρωσης της ηλεκτρονικής φόρμας PLF, που αποστέλλεται αυτόματα με ηλεκτρονικό μήνυμα στον επιβάτη από το σύστημα, θεωρείται αναγκαίο ταξιδιωτικό έγγραφο. Οι αεροπορικές και ακτοπλοϊκές εταιρείες, καθώς και οι εταιρείες οδικών και σιδηροδρομικών μεταφορών υποχρεούνται στον έλεγχό του πριν από την επιβίβαση του ταξιδιώτη, σε περίπτωση δε παραβίασης της υποχρέωσης αυτής φέρουν την υποχρέωση επαναπατρισμού του επιβάτη με ευθύνη και έξοδά τους.   Η κοινή υπουργική απόφαση Αριθ. Όλοι οι ταξιδιώτες προς Ελλάδα, ανεξαρτήτως υπηκοότητας και τρόπου εισόδου στη Χώρα, πλην εκείνων που εισέρχονται με ιδιωτικά σκάφη αναψυχής και επαγγελματικά τουριστικά πλοία εξαιρουμένων των κρουαζιεροπλοίων, συμπληρώνουν την ηλεκτρονική φόρμα PLF (Passenger Locator Form), στην ηλεκτρονική διεύθυνση https://travel.gov.gr με τα στοιχεία επαφής τους στην Ελλάδα το αργότερο την προηγούμενη ημέρα από την άφιξή τους στη χώρα. H απόδειξη συμπλήρωσης της ηλεκτρονικής φόρμας PLF, που αποστέλλεται αυτόματα με ηλεκτρονικό μήνυμα στον επιβάτη από το σύστημα, θεωρείται αναγκαίο ταξιδιωτικό έγγραφο.
